Very friendly & helpful staff, a comfortable room and very nice bar, lounge area and garden. In a beautiful historic village & well located for exploring Exmoor. None
Great room, friendly staff, very clean and generally great atmosphere. Good food in resturant Breakfast on first morning limited as only guests and was not offered full breakfast menu however next morning was great as other guests staying
enjoyed staying in a really old and historic building with lots of atmosphere, somewhere a bit different. it was really relaxing . The food was really good. the parking was quite difficult during peak Summer season and the service was not very good at all which was a shame because the food when it eventually arrived was delicious. we found it incredulous that when asked for at breakfast there was no brown sauce available!
We only stayed overnight, but enjoyed the warm, relaxed atmosphere, and superb food at dinner and breakfast.
Hotel in ideal location for exploring Exmoor. Plenty to do in Dunster itself. Food and service were very good Lack of car parking meant leaving our car on a public carpark 400 metres away
lovely atmosphere ....... absolutely spotless bathroom and bedroom all beautifully decorated.....fabulous garden with a view of the castle..like no other view.......comprehensive menu with all food fresh and delicious....helpful and pleasant staff..friendly but not too familiar....always ready to help.... fabulous lounge with wood burning stove....so comfortable and cosy....really loved our stay....we combined it with a buying trip and want to return very soon....thank you everyone....
lovely peaceful friendly place would go again
Lovely clean double room with nice bathroom. Comfy bed and flat screen tv with all the freeview channels. Tea/cofee making facilities. Wifi in room. Car park with lots of space. The pub was fantastic. Friendly helpful staff. Good full English breakfast and the evening meals were delicious. Sat nav took me right to the pub. Good location for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. Great value when booked on booking.com . Bedroom needs extra electric wall sockets installed.
The food was excellent Bins were not emptied each day
the meals were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for denis the head chef
Staff were all very friendly, and the food was superb. Room light and airy and, most importantly, clean. Highly recommended. Also it's worth booking ahead at the pub if you plan to eat there at a weekend as it was very busy when we stayed.
The service was excellent Tim and his staff couldn't do enogh for us on arrival made you feel welcome. The rooms were basic but had everything you needed. The food was excellent and the breakfast was a great starter to the day The only critism I could mention is the fact that you are not allowed to check in until after 5.30pm which was a bit inconvienient
Fantastic food and good company and £1 a pint guest beer. Great value and one to re-vist. Not applicable
Very friendly, clean and comfortable. Fish and Chip Night Wednesday, Steak Night Thursday - great prices lovely food.
Very comfortable and warm and breakfast nice. Shower was not great but understand that was more for location that is a cause of pressure
Good fresh cooked breakfast, plenty of tea etc in room. Good gardens En suite too small - basin was too small to wash in and could not fill kettle under tap. No screen on shower, no shower gel provided only hand wash.No evening meals provided. It is Bed and Breakfast - not hotel. Limited parking 5 spaces available for 12 rooms further 3 spaces were inaccessible.
Everything we could wish for was available. Minor points only E.G. no lock on bathroom door.
Lovely position in the town with stunning views, convenient for activities.Nice breakfast It was very difficult to contact anyone to even let us into the building even though we were arriving at a civilised time; when they did they were very apologetic.
Sheer class of the decor and fiitings coupled with a very professional service. Nothing
Very pleasant staff, good food and welcoming surroundings. Good views. Could not get my room heater to work; as a result I was rather cold during the evening.
The room was clean and well serviced and had excellent views. The evening meals (provided by a separate company) were excellent. The proprietor was rather overbearing. From the dining room we could hear him shouting at staff, some of whom seemed terrified.
Good atmosphere as soon as we walked through the door on arriving No bad points whatsoever
Great location at the top of town but a short walk to the centre. Very convenient for visiting Exmoor. The furniture and fittings were wonderful. Excellent breakfast. No soap or shampoo for the shower (just hand soap) and a very tiny sink in our room! Also nowehere to hang clothes - no wardrobe or even a single clothes hanger! (Not a problem for one night). Not really a hotel but a very nice B&B establishment.
Very friendly staff None
Vverything was first class None
Everything was just perfect a good holiday well worth another visit everything was good thank you booking .com
The way way we were made to feel, as though we were old friends, the couple were lovely. They put us first with everything and looked after our needs wonderfully. Food excellent and good advice about the area. No
From the friendly welcome with a cup of tea, to help with luggage on departure everything was excellent. Lovely spotlessly clean rooms, large lounge and nice breakfast room, easy access to beach and countryside walks and a good restaurant within walking distance. Also plenty of places - NT, interesting villages, good tearooms etc - to visit around the area. And the steam train is another plus.
Paula was great; a brilliant hostess. We would definitely come back.
Everything was excellent, the room, the breakfast, the cleanliness and most of all the friendliness/helpfulness of the owners.
very welcoming owners, good location, excellent accommodation and breakfasts, a perfect stay
Lovely place, ieal setting, very clean an the people were really friendly. Would recommend to anyone
Owners very welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Clean and nicely furnished Toilet/shower in the ground floor bathroom was very small and quite restricting
Paula & Nigel made us very welcome.
kind and friendly no
Area Decor of some of the hotel
well presented rooms lack of parking
Good food and place to stay, very friendly
The bedroom were very well furnished comfortable and warm There was no hot water at all in the bedroom only in the shower. No proper bar room and the breakfast was cold on both mornings.
the high quality rooms , the fabulous food and very friendly staff - a fantastic break. I would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed the hospitality of staff and breakfast provision was very good Nowhere to park and with small children I didn't feel safe walking along road back to hotel
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast choice and service We found the fixed price evening meal menu too expensive for our needs and budget.
Very helpful staff, very comfortable room and lounge
Excellent room and very clean, good breakfast choice. The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful.
Man at front desk helpful, if a little overly formal. Hotel opened breakfast early to accommodate cyclists which was nice touch. Bed comfortable, room quiet. Bathroom small, but usable.
