excellent location/ambience within old town center; great starting point for sightseeing; room a bit "dated" but generally comfortable; bed mattress not so comfortable though;
The hotel was perfectly located in the medieval city. It was a good value, and the restaurant (across the street from the hotel) was pretty and served very tasty regional specialties. Our rooms were in the front of the building over a busy street (pedestrian). There was no a/c - so open windows meant hearing a lot of noise.
Staff very friendly and helpfull parking nearby restaurant opposit hotel and very good quality and value super service. Rooms a little small as is showerroom but to be expected in this location
Very quiet from the road Very noisy with neighbours people, a lot of noise early in the sunday morning (about 6.15 am)
Cosy and nice view from the window. Rocamadour is just one street, so hotel cant be far from "center". There is absolutely no parking in or around Rocamadour. Only far down in the valley. But then you have to be a Scwartznegger to carry your suitcases up to the hotel.
The location is in the old city, however there was nothing to do in the old city as everything was closed. We found better views from hotels that overlooked the city, just outside Rocamadour, and with more restaurants, etc, that would have been a better location if we had known about it. Terrible room, extremely dirty with an old broken toilet seat and mold growing in the shower and floor tiles. The room was so small there was less than a foot of space around the bed. The sink was dripping all night. When we told the manager about the sink, she rudely informed us that we would have to pay more to change rooms and there was nothing she could do about it otherwise. It was a big stretch to call this a 2 star hotel.Maybe ok for budget backpackers, but it was the smallest dirtiest room I have ever stayed in.
peace, ambience, sense of being away from it all.
Excellent value for money. Stylish hotel with only 10 rooms, so we were made very welcome by the owners. Whirlpool bath was a delightful additional feature. It's rather out of the way but this means it's also very quiet. Meals were superb, too.
The owner was most welcoming and attentive. The food was very good. The hotel is in very quiet location. Definitely recommended. An unnecessarily complicated shower system
Excellent facilities a nice place to relax, the evening meals were excellent. The owner was very informative and very pleasant. The breakfast was poor compered to the overall quality of the hotel, and with the hotel being slightly rural it would have been nice to have a more substantial breakfast before setting off.
a very stylish hotel with friendly owners and pleasant personal touch. a real treasure
Modern decor - excellent bathroom facilities. The food was of the highest quality and presentation. Used drinking glasses were not washed and bathroom cleaning products were left in the room. The duvet was of good quality but too warm for June nights, and no lighter bedding was stored in the room. Instructions on how to reach the hotel would be very helpful and perhaps could be issued automatically with emailed confirmation of reservation.
We had a fantastic time her despite a few days of summer rain. The hosts we fantstic and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back(">)
La Bastie D’Urfe is in a lovely quiet location well out of town, so rather a long way to go to find dinner if not eating in the hotel. Very helpful manager/owner Meals of quality local produce, so not cheap, especially breakfast charges.
The hotel itself and the setup. The Dinner menu was very nice with local products. We were disapointed with the breakfast as it was poor compared to the standards of the rest. No fruit or cereals, just toasts orange juice and coffee.
It was a lovely hotel with a Boutique hotel feel. There was also a swimming pool although we did not have time to use it. We found the roads leading to it rather narrow and not well sign posted as to location, although once we found the signs to the hotel we were able to follow them and arrived there ok.
Nice relaxed trip. Not kettle in room and rooms were a bit small but staff nice and location nicely rural No kettle and rooms a bit small
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the little village it nestles beside is very picturesque. it feels functional and rather querky with an ugly modern extension mixed with eclectic mix of furniture. The drive to and from this is on very dramatic roads, and figac worth a visit. No lift so if you were not able bodies our second floor room would have been a problem. It was also very hot in the eves! The consierge did carry our case up unasked though!
Staff very pleasant and helpfull it was value for money and the food was also very good.
relaxing peaceful surroundings, excellent food, value for money. the only downside was the weather, but the 2 days we stayed there were great.
Friendly staff, good cuisine. We were on a site seeing trip, and the hotel was well situated in a quiet village..
They are happy to take dogs, and we found the food in the restaurant was of a high standard.
Very attactive to look at, with pleasant outside sitting/dining area alongside pool, food very good, with good size portions, local specialities available, plenty of staff in dining area, english speaking and friendly, cosy with French appeal nothing
Very friendly and helpful staff. Small but comfortable and clean room. Air conditioned room. Good restaurant, prepared special vegetarian meal for us. Quiet environment. Makes feel us at home. none
Have not commented on above as the hotel was only an overnight stop on our journey. Very pleasantly situated in the countryside with excellent amenities. No lift
The bedroom and bathroom were spacious for 3 people and the fan was a useful addition No tea and coffee making facilities in room
Really stylish, light, airy, clean. Not keen on the 'wet room' bathroom as the shower made the whole floor wet.
The nicest of the hotels used in our forty five day tour of France. Spotlessly clean, well laid out room in an easy to find and quiet location. It was a short walk to the trails and steps leading into Rocamadour. The hostess was friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English.
Laid back, comfortable, homely, clean, quiet, spotlessly clean No
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and very clean. The location was great as it was not in the centre of the area, therefore making it more peaceful. The price of the room was fantastic and would definetly recommend to friends! Overall we had a very pleasant stay.
All it was very nice would consider staying again and proprietress helped us find other local sites which were all amazing A fan in room would make it perfect
Very clean and new. Pet friendly. Excellent hosts. Limited telephone switchboard. Since there are no direct lines to the rooms, late night or early morning calls may not be supported by an operator.
Clean, bright, rooms; hotel public rooms beautifully decorated with original paintings and art work; garden for relaxing after a hard day of touring; good parking but within walking distance of Racamadour. sights. Quiet, park-like setting; friendly English speaking owner; We did not use the pool (too early in the season) but I would expect the same level of quality in htat area also. A wonderful hotel at excellent rates. nothing
It's modern, clean, and comfortable. It has an outstanding location and a helpful staff. It's right near one of the most gorgeous towns in France, but it's away from the traffic and parking troubles.
it was new, clean with excellent location for travel
An excellent hotel with a restaurant and swimming pool overlooking fabulous countryside. You won't forget this one!
The view, the food, the calm and the cleanliness. The wasps, the tiny, tiny toilet.... had to squeeze in (Room 104)
This modern, clean hotel is amazingly well sited for anyone visiting Rocamadour. The view from the bar/terrace is unique across the valley to Rocamadour itself. It is however only in walking distance of the town if you are fit and it's not too hot. L'Hospitalet itself is a pleasant little tourist village with several shops and restaurants to choose from. Parking is easy. The restaurant is rather expensive and the food unremarkable. Some of the rooms advertised as having a "valley view" have only limited view (in our case mostly consisting of the restaurant roof) with certainly not the famous valley view that you get from elsewhere around the hotel and would expect from the description.
Great location to view Rocamadour! No air conditioning and no fan. Room was small in size.
Great location, helpful staff, great food
very good location with lovely views from most rooms. Breakfast very good with giant croissants.
Situated in the main square of Gramat. Excellent food offered in the restaurant with option of interior or exterior eating areas. Good breakfast. Room comfortable. WiFi enabled for those wanting the internet. Good value overall.
Nice, bat... Room was small
The food and the owners
Great location, great atmosphere, very clean and comfortable rooms and the manager had a great sense of humour.
Located in the centre of town, yet quiet. Friendly staff. Rather small room, but properly equiped. Good food.
nice room , toilet very clean, very good restaurant available room is too small for a three star hotel . was also very noisy in the early morning because of a market in the square . lady at reception quite weird - we went to the restaurant and she accompanied us to the table , then took our orders and after a few minutes came back to tell us we had to wait for one hour before eating because we had not made a reservation for the table in advance . Added that if we didn't want to wait for so long we had to go to another town as apparently there are no other restaurants in Gramat. We decided to wait and food arrived after only 10 minutes! we had a plesant dinner in the end but why did she lie to us? I think she just wanted us to leave... quite weird .
This is a wonderful place for relaxation and "getting away from it all". It is also within a short drive of Rocamadour. The Hosts are very pleasant people for whom nothing is a problem. Staying here was one of the highlights of our holiday in France, and has left us with some wonderful memories.
The design The owner the history No
Everything is fine: the service, the lounge, the room, the pool. Warm and elegant at the same time; quiet and beautiful surroundings.
The owners were both friendly and very helpful. Beautiful place, full of charm and ambiance.
This was a delightful quiet place tucked away off the back road a few miles from Rocamadour. The swimming pool was very welcome - somehere to relax in the sun after a long drive. The room as expected was fairly basic (no TV) but large, comfortable and clean. If you're staying in summer think about bringing some binoculars - we were treated to the most incredible starry night. There's little or no light pollution here and the Milky Way and shooting stars are all there to see. The hotel is pretty basic. Apart from the pool there are no facilities to speak of and you do have to drive into Rocamadour for dinner.
This place was beautiful and very quiet. They don't have a kitchen, but they serve breakfast. The surroundings are also very nice. For people who prefer nice and quiet rooms, away from noisy cities, I recommend this highly.
The tranquility and wonderful scenery from everywhere in the hotel. Accommodation was excellent, food excellent and the whole place had a real "WOW" factor. Absolutely nothing.
Meal & setting was fabulous & Oz was a perfect host VERY eager to please! Room spacious & very clean Breakfast not fantastic value. Quite hard to find hotel as it really is in a beautiful remote spot!
Really nice place and friendly personel. We enjoyed our stay.
A lovely quiet location. The British owners were very welcoming and served excellent meals. The former farm buildings had been converted into very attractive and comfortable accommodation and we very much enjoyed our 3-night stay. The historic town of Figeac was only 15 minutes away and a good place to visit and eat out.
Loved the setting and the rusticity of the farm and tasteful decor and refurbishment which was done in context! Full marks to the owners for a very good establishment! Loved everything, in spite of the unseasonable cold...
Very relaxed and Oz and Josephine were very hospitable and helpful. Oz's cooking was great and he is an enthusiastic Chef who discusses your meal with you and if he has time he will cook whatever you fancy.Generally very relaxed atmosphere. Beds were a bit hard.
Very nice, cosy hotel, friebdly staff and perfect athmosphere. :D Thank you!
It was comfortable and lovely old building with good facilities. It was far from the medieval city of Rocamandour -you needed to drive there as well as from the 'newer town" not 5 minutes walk as they said.
The surroundings are beautiful and very close to the sites at Rocamadour. The breakfast was very good. The room was cramped and dark and the shower was so tiny. The pool wasn't open in the evening for a dip which was a let down after a long and hot day of sightseeing.
This was a fantastic hotel, but because it is located near farm animals be sure to bring a fly swatter.
An excellent hotel set in the countryside but within walking distance of a large town and tourist attractions. A true three star (***) hotel, whereas many other french so-called three stars are really two stars or less.
The Hotel was in a beautiful location, overlooking a park. Marie-Josee and Thierry Menot were excellent hosts and looked after us very well
Location was outstanding, evening meal exceptional. Rooms could do with aditional soundproofing
I know I have answered excellent to all the questions but I would be doing your hotel an injustice if I did not. This is a fantastic place to stay and we will be back again for longer I hope.
Lovely location and the restaurant was good quality. Rural views were superb and suited to any season. Out of town and very quiet.
Beautiful tranquil setting yet within easy walking distance from Rocamadour. Lots of nice walks start nearby. Friendly welcome. Surprised it had no restaurant as I'd somehow got the impression from the website that there was one. However the restaurant they recommended, set in woodland only 5 min walk away, was extremely good. Would have appreciated a small fridge in the room.
Lovely location, close to local attractions whilst in the middle of the countryside, nice pool and bar terrace. Kids could roam free.
Very spacious room! No air-cooler (but ability to keep windows open helped!)
Friendly and helpful staff, swimming pool was lovely and good restuarant and service. Room was adequate, quite dated. We chose this because of the view from the terrace restuarant but this was closed up when we stayed so dispapointing that we missed the main feature of the hotel.
location, pet friendly, excellent food, friendly staff, comfortable accommodation. no
The food was very good The staff were friendly.
The lady on the phone spoke excellent English and was very helpfull. No
The rooms were well equipped with updated bathrooms. The food was excellent as well as the service. Next to train station and about 10 minute walk from the center of town. Convenient to Rocamador and easy parking. If your room faces the train station you may hear the arrival of trains or buses if you keep your window open to fresh air.
The location was excellent. Not in the tourist area but very near the town and private.
The lady at the front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was pretty good, location was great. It would be handy to be given the code and an explanation for entering the locked part of town where the hotel is situated. Only WiFi in the lobby. No lift or help to take the luggage up two flights of stairs.
beautiful sceanery, cuisine
Relaxing and close to amazing sites at Rocamadour (SW France). Friendly staff and good food. Enjoyed our drink on the terrace after a swim in the pool.
Manager/owner very friendly, went out of way to help. Stunning views good evening meal Cost more than we expected.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. Perfect location for a visit to Rocamadour. We would love to come back.
Magnificent location, layout of the rooms offered peace and privacy. The staff were extrememly in helping to sort out "what to see". None
Very quiet environment, cosy rooms of 3 star quality. Very nice surroundings and view from the room. The restaurant is definitely of a higher level, we have had an excellent gastronomic dinner! Only 20 minutes walk to Rocamadour via a hiking trail. none
We enjoyed all of our stay at Hotel Restaurant Les Viellies Tours. The location was excellent as was the setting of the hotel. The food was fantastic.
Setting of the hotel. Very scenic.
Free internet, friendly reception and good restaurant Coordinates given from hotel are wrong, we could not find this it, hotel rooms are dark and old, 2 star would be more matching
A very relaxed site with rooms accessing the garden and the pool. Attentive service and nice dining. Rooms a little dark.
It was centrally situated in the town of Figeac- walking distance from shops and sights. Quiet location. Rooms beautifully clean and comfortable. Owners very hospitable and friendly. No
We loved the location, the host was very friendly and helpful, the room was very pretty and the town was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent value and the homemade prune jam was yummy. There was secure parking for the motorbike and the wifi was reliable.
A charming host- very talkative and friendly. Lovely house and good room in a family setting
Ideally located to the town centre (via footbridge), quiet location, nice garden & friendly atmosphere Addition of 'Wifi' would have been extremely beneficial.
Quiet location away from tourist areas but with easy access to Rocamadour via ascenseur or pleasant path
The location is excellent for visiting Rocamadour. There was no price benefit in going through hotels.com. Same price as on-site. Quality of hotel and poor staff interest did not merit the room rate.
Clean covered pool. Good choice at breakfast. Good views over the valley. Easy access to Rocamadour. Restaurant a bit expensive. Fairly isolated at night time. 20 min walk to nearest restaurant outside the hotel.
Nice friendly service, great view on the castle. Excellent breakfast with great chice.
