clean and comfortable room, nice pub downstairs I hit my head quite painfully. But that was my own fault ;)
Helpfulness of the staff in providing a heater for my room, breakfast was good Room a little chilly - particularly the ensuite
Central location in small town. Very quaint. Staff very helpful when asked for local advice on shopping and transport on to a wedding we were attending nearby -we asked about taxis and within a couple of minutes Chris came back and said taxi booked and would collect us from back door car park. Also said no problem for us to sit and have coffee while we waited.
Staff were really helpful and friendly- great breakfast options :) Picky yes, but I would have liked a proper shower. Couldn't get the attachment on the bath to a decent temperature.
Very relaxed atmosphere Noisy disco (?)
Good food and excellant service.
Not Much to like. Karoke on a Sunday night until about 1am on Monday morning. Could not park my car, could not get to my room, could not get to sleep.
the staff were great and great food we were quoted £39 online but at check out payed £55
The lady on reception was very good During the evenining the guy behind the bar obviously had a problem about something, we heard him swearing then he went outside and had 2 cigarettes. Later that evening the bar was very busy and the same guy said he could not serve me because there were no glasses. I stood there waiting, he then said to me why are you staring at me I have already told you I have np glasses. Another member of staff came over and served me, no problems. He spoilt was was a good stay at the Bull.
The food was terrific, great value for money, lovely location, and contrary to previous comments - there is a car park! Some staff were V.unfriendly, bathrooms dated with no shower curtain and no frosted glass/curtains over window!
I would like to say that this was the best guest house experience I have had in ages, the staff are the friendliest and polite I have ever meet, well done to all the staff at The White Hart Guest House. No are no bad points to say about this Guest House
Friendly, reasonable rate, modern room, traditional hotel, nice toiletries in room, great manager (Hayley), good shower, lovely food for dinner, free mini pudding! chilly in room, stained sheet, no hairdryer (provided when requested), TV reception sporadic, TV at an immovable angle to the bed, very bad sound proofing
I booked a single room and was upgraded to a really super double. The staff were very pleasant. I would be very happy to stay again. Bar price and restaurant very expensive.
I had booked a twin and a double room, and was actually allocated two double rooms which wasn't suitable. Breakfast selection was not as suggested on menu. Sound proofing of rooms was very poor.
Clean friendly No soundproofing whatsoever between connecting room
The staff were all friendly and polite and willing to go out of their way to help. The room was modern and clean. Food in the restaurant was lovely. The sink in the bathroom had a shelf directly above making it difficult to use. The milk at breakfast was off to the extent that it was lumpy.
Very friendly and helpful staff, Rooms in an adjoining converted building were unassuming but perfectly adequate and clean and tidy. Good breakfast very reasonable price we decided to stay an extra night. The hotel has won many awards which are well deserved. We were disappointed with the a la carte dinner.Portions we felt were modest and with most main course options a vegitable selection was extra.
Staff very friendly ans a lovely looking place very homely feel to the bar. There were stains on the bed sheets that when you consider it was the honeymmon suite (friends swapped rooms with us as it was our wedding night) was a very discusting thing! We had to get some towels to pull off hte covers as we refused to sleep on that!!!! The shower leaked too which meant that my husband fell over on the wet floor in the morning because he hadn't realised!!!
Very pleasant staff and room quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended
Friendly young staff, clean bedroom, very nice b&b
The landlord was very friendly and made me most welcome. The room was not particularly clean. I did not feel it had been properly prepared; little things like the toilet roll only being about a quarter left. The shower was also barely better than a trickle
Landlord was very friendly and helpful - breakfast was amazing - delightfully offbeat but wonderful experience - would recommend to anyone who was open to something a bit different. Room was a tad small by Australian standards but not by English ones. Linen and towels were clean as was room.
The friendliness of the manager and the location of hotel were excellent
Good camra pub with very friendly staff and owner. Good breakfast. Bed was most uncomfortable & lumpy !
Was treated with very good maner room was nice overall very good value None
Nice and quiet, friendly area Bathroom a bit small
Dirty , room lacked essentials, very grotty place as a whole Dirty room lacked essentials very grotty place
Worst hotel I have stayed in, please avoid. Room was filthy, bed very uncomfortable, shower fittings hanging off the wall. I do not usually write reviews, but please avoid.
very modern, clean and spacious rooom we booked 2 singles but due to overbooking only 1 was available!!! The hotelier helped us to obtain a room within a mile but this was of a far less quality
It was cvery onvenient for an event we were attending in the vicinity
Had a very large family room. Very conveniently located in centre of Halstead with Taxi service outside. Good shower. Good standard English breakfast. At back of very busy bar and nightclub with some noise into the night. Also overlooked carpark which was meeting place for lots of football teams from early Sunday morning who practiced against wall of building. TV was ridiculously tiny portable. Tea and coffee facilities limited with dirty cutlery.
There was nothing I liked about the hotel it was unclean and disgusting.
We were going to a wedding at the castle so the location was perfect. Plus having the bar next door for food & drink worked well. We thought the hotel was way over priced for the size & comfort of the room.
service and breakfast were lovely bedrooms needed redecorating..
The room was pleasantly peaceful, well-maintained and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Everything the staff were lovely and polite as was the cleaners the room was nice clean and tidy
This Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of a very popular Wedding Venue which was the pupose of our stay. Check in was simple, we stayed in room number 2 which overlooked the road & houses opposite so there was some traffic noise. It was clean, had a sink in the corner & a full length mirror. The shower room was clean & functional though the carpet was a bit threadbare. We found the included continental breakfast of cereal, juice, tea/coffee, toast & preserves ample. should you be extra hungry then the full English did look good but will cost an extra £6. All in all it served it's purpose. The only reccommendation we would make is TAKE A TORCH as there is no street lighting for the walk back & it was pitch black! Thread bare carpet in bathroom would not cost much to replace with some Vinyl Cusion floor.
