The hotels proximity to everything is fantastic. We were able to walk everywhere. The bed was very comfortable and the provided breakfast was very good. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for something a little different with some history. We stayed over a weekend, so parking was not an issue. There's a large public lot next to the hotel that is free during the weekends. However, if you stay during the week, parking may be an issue. You would likely have to feed meters constantly to park close to the hotel. It has, likely original, single paned windows. We were woken up by garbage collections Saturday morning ~5am. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but if you do, noise may be a concern.
Robert, the owner, and inn keeper, was the upmost gentleman, and really catered to my daughter, and I. Service was wonderful, and the French breakfast was delicious! Nothing
Everything! !! And the man that works there was phenomenal. ... Parking was unclear
Beautiful inside & out. Extremely nice staff. Great homemade breakfast.
Beautiful old building, old world Comfort, great location for downtown Dubuque, quiet The owner was quirky to the point of being bossy, argued about the air conditioning when I though the room too cold, wrestled my suitcase out of my hand when I wanted to carry it myself twice, was weird at breakfast when guests approached the buffet table before being served with the hot portion of their breakfast, barked "you don't get it" at us, served different hot breakfast portion to different people but offered no choice, there were no decaf pods for the keurig i provided my own but 25 mins later there was no sign of my coffee.
Location was close to everything we could have wanted to do. Wish we had more time to explore. The rooms were nice and the Innkeeper was very friendly. Plenty of space in the 2 rooms we had. Some rooms needed a little work but the building is VERY old and one person can only do so much at a time. There was nothing that hindered our stay just some aesthetic things that might bother picky people. :)
I liked the privacy. The breakfast was below expectations. The toilet room was also very small.
Nice location in a quiet neighborhood. The place was a bit run down and the entryway was in need of repairs. Also, we never saw any owner/staff member. It was self-serve all the way!
My husband and I traveled from Ohio. We were really tired it was perfect for a relaxing night!
Not too much like It was way over priced. It was suppose to be a bed and breakfast, which consisted of putting a basket the night before that had yogurt and pre packaged fruit cocktail in it. There was no one ever available if we needed anything. Log cabin was not good.
Allowed Pets. Bathroom was dirty looking. Water caused rust stains in tub.
