Under Promised and Over Delivered!!!
Pros: I liked the excellent customer care that Ian showed when I picked up and returned the car at JFK airport location. A+ experience. Shuttle was perfect and on time. Nice cars. I would recommend Economy Car Rental to everyone. Thanks guys. Steve

Cons: only had one car available (i prefer a choice) The car drove fine on the highway but made odd grinding noises at city speed. They had no car to exchange it with but suggested that I bring it back for their mechanic to look at. I rented a car so that I could drive to appointments not to spend time at a mechanic. They did have a car available for an exchange the following evening. I had to drive back to jfk -45 minutes each way. The only car they had available had a dashboard light indicating tire balance issues. I took it anyhow and the warning lights kept blinking on for the duration of my rental. It was a great value for JFK but I would rethink renting with them again.

Cons: Their cars are absolutely trash!! I had to return the first car because the car would shake at 40 miles/h and the rolling of the tires would make an horrible noise!!! This issue took one h out of my rental but I was given a different car!!! The "new" car had the usb broken!!! This is not a problem usually but in that case I had to charge my phone to use the GPS!!! Use a different company!!!

Dirty car poorly maintained
Cons: The location from Kennedy is hard to find. And the car itself was not in good shape, with a warning light appearing soon after I started driving it telling me the pressure of at least one of the tires was too low. Wouldn't rent from them again, ever.

You get what you pay for
Pros: The price
Cons: The tail light for the left break didn't work. They said it happened after I rented it and I agreed because I didn't feel like arguing. The back seat shook the entire drive and made a loud thunk sound at all times. Might have been the back axle. The car was a free upgrade, I guess I know why...

Good value/bad experience with customer service
Pros: Good value. Car was clean.
Cons: We realized we'd need the car a few hours extra. Customer service agent who clearly hates his job told me I couldn't extend my contract at checkout, and he said I was contractually required to pay the $80 late fee, which caused us a bit of stress. I called back after we left, spoke to another rep who instantly extended my rental at the same rate. Gross.

they don't tell u its not where all the other rent
Cons: the they want an additional 200 up front. I didn't have that much on my credit card since i came from europe and they wouldn't take cash. i had to leave wasted 2 hours.

Pros: Car itself was fine.
Cons: Company baits you with a cheap daily rate and then tacks on extra charges at the end of the rental, in my case a completely unjustified cleaning charge (a little dog hair requires "detailing." ?! )which resulted in a 50% bill increase. I learned the hard way not to rent from these little known car companies -- and to read user reviews ahead of time -- that they seem "cheap" for a reason.

Horrible, What a joke, a waste of time!!!!
Pros: When I saw the rates on Kayak I thought I found a deal, how wrong was I.
Cons: After taken public transportation for almost 2 hours to get to the rental company, I was welcomed to did you fly in today. To that my answer was no, (the truth, if I would have lied, none of this would have happened). I was then told that I would not have unlimited miles, even though my booking and confirmation from Kayak says I did, they refused to honor my reservation. I was scheduled to drive out at 3am, and now it's 7:20pm. Just terrible!! I left with no car and had to take another 2 hours to get home. A horrible experience, the worst I ever had and I been renting cars for over 20 years. The absolute worst and I would not recommend this rental company if someone paid me a million dollars.

Cons: These people are crooks - they charged me $200 extra for no reason, they literally charged me against their own invoice and I am having to dispute with my credit card company. In addition, they do not honor Kayak pricing even though they book through them; the actual car was $40 more than what Kayak assured me it would be. Next, they take forever to take you to and from the airport so give yourself an hour plus each way despite the fact they are literally 5 minutes from JFK. Further to that, they are wanting to charge me over $1600 for a 2 inch surface scratch on the front bumper, as they are clearly trying to run an insurance scam; I will be engaging with my attorney to settle this which I am sure they are not used to this and solely used to ripping people off.

Not the car I ordered
Pros: They were helpful in extending when I needed it, helpful when there was an issue with the security deposit (which kayak failed to mention would be $350). I appreciated the landis and professional nature of the employees.
Cons: I did not like the security deposit problem, nor the fact I didn't get the car I ordered. The issue with the car I was given is that it was a Nissan, terrible handling, terrible shifting - car had over 50,000 miles on it - I thought rental agencies got rid of cars a heck of a lot sooner than that. The car was not comfortable and you felt every bump on whatever road you were on. The agency told me that the shuttle service would take me to a nearby hotel, and they didn't. I had to walk back to rental car place to get a ride, which they graciously offered. They should have offered it in the first place, in my opinion.

Avoid them unless you really want to take a risk
Pros: they had a car available.
Cons: They are the only company that didn't have a phone kiosk at the airport terminal. It was an hour long goose chase to find the place. CALL THEIR NUMBER as soon as you get off the plane. They are a 15 min drive OFF location. When we returned the car, they tried to charge us for a smudge on the side of the car that was easily wiped off. I had to complain to staff, then the boss also before they stated they wouldn't put a claim on the condition of the car. The place was a trailer in a barbed wire lot, the place smelled and the staff were rude. I informed them that there is no way to know where the are at the airport terminal, maybe you guys could put up a sign or something? "Lady, you are preaching to the choir. We deal with the same complaint all day" But we landed at 1 PM and it's now 2:30? This is a ridiculous amount of time to get to the car rental place? "We know, we've told our bosses." read the other reviews, this place is cheap, shady and looking for any scam to pull. good. luck.

Pros: I could not rent the car so nothing to like
Cons: I had reached the airport at 9 pm instead of 12 noon owing to fligtt issues and when i called them to pick me up, i was told that my reservation stood cancelled. When asked for what i am supposed to do, they asked me to take the air train to the car rentals. The price there wih hertz worked out to be cheaper as well so these guys are expensive along woth being unhelpful

rental mostly smooth
Pros: service, efficiency, friendliness. pickup was easy.
Cons: miscommunication about availability of the shuttle driver upon return. the guy we returned the car to stated the shuttle driver could be available very soon. we asked in the office and they said 10 minutes. that 10 minutes was too long to wait.

Pros: THE RENTAL COMPANY DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE THAT I REQUESTED. I HAD TO GO ANOTHER RENTAL COMPANY AND PAY EXTRA MONEY. I WILL NEVER USE YOUR SERVICES EVER AGAIN. TERRIBLE.

Pros: Great prices and really friendly people. The shuttle pick up is also very easy
Cons: NO AMERICAN CARS. A real bummer. A company with so many cars should try and get the best American cars, not only Asian ones for rentals :-((

Cons: The car had lots of dents and scratches. Either a front wheel bearing or tire was out of balance. Also needed a wheel alignment. insurance was high. $56.00 per day, and road side insurance was offered. Sounds like maintence is a low priority, cost are high and they don't trust their cars to stay running. I do not recommend this company!!

Economy Rent a car JFK - only when desparatr
Pros: There was not much I liked about this company or experience. What I did like was that everything is digital. The company takes a video of the car to identify the condition and sends it to you.
Cons: The lot is far away from the airport and they don't pick up at Federal Triangle along with the other companies. Pick up/drop off takes 30-45 minutes because of the travel. I did not care for the staff's non-chalant attitude. The office opened after the 8a scheduled time on Monday. There were 4 of us waiting. It took 30 minutes to get me to the airtrain after pick ups.

Difficult pickup and dropoff
Cons: After a series of long and difficult phone calls to local office in a converted trailer, I waited 1.5 hours at JFK while a shared bus service picked me up to transport me to the pickup location. Car was nice and service was apologetic.. but I was annoyed by the long wait and the indifference to their obvious business shortcomings.. I will not rent here again..

Pickup experience was awful
Pros: People were nice. Car was fine. They take a video of the car before you drive away so you don't have to worry about prior damage.
Cons: The pickup shuttle doesn't run all the time. You have to call when you get to the terminal. We called, but missed seeing the shuttle, so we had to wait for a second time...almost an hour to get the car. Not worth the $10 savings over in-airport rental services.

Pricey rental but the car was fine
Pros: The car was what we expected and the process to get it was pretty simple. We didn't have any issues with the car during our trip.
Cons: This was a bit pricey for a rental car... and this was the cheapest option I could find! I guess because it was a rental in NYC, but I don't think the location of the pickup/dropoff should skew the price. The pickup/dropoff went smoothly for us, but they only had 2 people working to process rentals and it took a while (about 25 minutes to give the car back and then a 10 minute shuttle to JFK). Since most people are dropping off and heading to catch a flight, I wish this would have been a faster process. We had allowed enough time, but if someone is running behind they could easily miss a flight due to how long this takes.

Economy was there every step of the way.
Pros: Highly suggest. A quick walk from Airtran at JFK, cutting time with shuttle. The car was ready and freshly washed. A video of surface scratches was made on the spot and emailed. The personnel were all very helpful and personable, with good advice on direction. And what a deal. Came through in a pinch, too, at the last minute. Even the other customers there were in a good mood.
Cons: At first it seemed difficult to find but with GPS I got there easily.

Cons: I think you should plainly state that the courtesy van should be called from the terminal --don't get on the air train to the rental car places-- economy/ drive isn't with the othets

Pros: I did not use their shuttle to their lot but did take it back to airport I was given the car I rented at the price I found it on kayak. No problems and no games. Good experience.

Great car for the price
Pros: The car we received (Hundai Elantra) was a great value for the bargain pricing we paid to rent it ($88 for the weekend). I'd definitely rent from this place again - they had great customer service too. I really liked that the agent came out to the car with me and took VIDEO of the entire car to record any pre-existing damage.
Cons: The only issue was the location of this rental facility. If you aren't returning to the airport, getting to public transit is tricky.

We waited for over 40 minutes for the first pickup
Pros: The actual rental process at the location was effecient.
Cons: $8 per gallon is outlandish. Due to pickup process and price of gas, will not use this agency again.

Terrible rental experience

Worst smell ever
Cons: My car was doused in air refreshner, and day 2, the smell of mold took over. It was very nauseating. Plus the car sounded like it has never had an oil change. At only 40,000 miles it was making crazy noises at stop lights and driving really jerky. The worst car rental I have ever had.

You pay for what you get!
Pros: I loved the price.
Cons: The customer service at the rental office was horrible. The man was arguing with me about whether or not my insurance covered me in their car. I ended up paying for the insurance but later found that I am actually covered by my insurance in any car I enter...as I was trying to tell him, but he was arguing with me and I just wanted to leave ASAP and hit the road. Complete attitude problem. His assistant was much nicer and informative. The car was a hyundai automatic with no automatic windows or locks. It was very worrisome whether or not I would leave the car open. The car given was very poor quality. The mile restrictions area little unreasonable as well.

Pros: Upgraded economy car to standard for trouble No mechanical trouble with vehicle
Cons: Car advertised as having unlimited miles. Was told at pickup that it only has unlimited miles for individuals who had flown in to JFK, and they would not give me unlimited mileage. I was charged additionally for the unlimited miles even after speaking with management. This was very frustrating.
