Architecturally cute Center of activity HUGE breakfast - couldn't possibly eat all of it!
Poor advice on parking, or perhaps misunderstood. in-room sink and shower very cramped blow dryer is a vacuum hose in exhaust mode - no airflow. Useless. Left with wet hair. Rushed - check out was 10 am, and they were calling up to our room at 9:45. Poor value for the money
the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the warmth and comfort of the rooms.
just the fact that cooked breakfasts didn't start until 8am and I had to catch my train at 7.45am!
It is a very pleasant place to stay.
A warm welcome from the owner, quiet comfortable bedroom, great shower and a lovely breakfast - what more could you ask for? Staff all very helpful. I felt totally at home.
After my first night, my hand towel was removed but not replaced with a clean one, and the bucket in my ensuite was not emptied for 2 days.
The Valery is a quiet place to stay and very near to the city of Edinburgh,a nice and friendly staff.
Convenient to main train station and bus routes for city centre, the staff were friendly and very helpful.
Nice guest house in a typical old block of houses, very traditional, good value for money, wifi internet conection, 15 minutes walk from the town center
Only traditional english breakfast, but not bad
Well-run, comfortable, good rooms, free wireless, good service, good location, decent breakfast, reasonably priced
It was convenient for the reason I had to stay in Edinburgh and available at the late time of booking
Friendly staff, nice room.
No soap in room (had to wash with shampoo). Breakfast tea/coffee dispensed from a machine, which (oddly) produced quantities greater than that which could be accommodated by the cups provided on the tables!
