A wonderful old house ( the white) but in very poor condition, a shame.Too expensive. Restaurant too expensive and a very short meny, but the food was nice.
Nice setting in a wood, the environment invites you to walking or biking During of our visit, high temperature not appropriate airco and ventilation. Hotel is not any more "state of the art"
The location is perfect. Due to a wedding downstairs it was rather noisy
Good, will stay there again.
They had expensive and not very expensive rooms available, for me the room was exceptional value for money while still being very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and their english easily understood. Due to the heat, the mosquitoes woke me up at night and there was no bug spray in the room.
The hotel was very nice, nice nature, very calm...
I really liked the enviremont with nature around the hotel, its quiet and peacefull like am a bad sleeper in general but not at the fletcher hotel, slept like a rose .Had a good stay and the price rate is very good compare for what you get . I would say the dark halway to the rooms upstairsfelt a bit unconfortable, like there was only one light that switched on in the whole corridor.
The brekfast was delicious hotel is very ok for me. I will recommendate this hotel to friend and also I will visit it again :) Thank you
Very helpful staff. Clean rooms, nice and quite. Lovely wood area
housekeeping need improvement.
Good layout, our room (a corner room) was spacious and well lighted, same with the restaurant, the park around the hotel is beautiful and it is right in the forest. It is also very easily accessible from the A50 highway. It is close to the highway and trucks are carrying on all night - if your room is on the highway side and you have sensitive ears it can be a nuisance. The bedding is very warm and because of proximity to the highway it is not possible to ventilate the room as that would only increase the noise level.
The location, good services/facilities and the feeling to live in luxery. no
quitness a concert in the evening in the garden so we could not sleep
Location, restaurants, general setting. Room was a bit old fashioned and a bit damaged (e.g. doors), room for storing luggage was very dirty.
The garden and decorations outside of the hotel are beautiful. Breakfast buffet was nice. Located far from other resturants and shopping. Diner option at hotel was expensive.
kind staff, fancy atmosfere
The kitchen was being redone and it was a mess downstair. It was not mentionned on the hotel description.
The entrance and the price.
Beautiful design room for 15 euro extra, excellent restaurant. Room was not made upon arrival, and it took them quite a while to fix this. An apology-drink would have been nice!
the beautiful palce hotel situated no
restaurants good - surroundings perfect
breakfast was OK It was not worth 4 stars. It was more a holiday camp with conference facilities. Website is very misleading. Rooms were not clean and dirty towels and waste were left between the trees. Sorry
Location. Quiet. Charge of €10 per day for the dog. When questioned about this, the hotel had to admit that the charge was for vacuuming the room each day. I consider vacuuming the room each day part of normal hotel procedure. Hotel did refund the charge after we complained about it. In general we had to push the cleaning staff to clean the bathroom each day. Not something one expects in a hotel of any class let alone one which advertises itself as a high class hotel. The following comments apply to Booking.com, not the hotel: Room is advertised as double with terrace but had twin beds. Hotel told us there are no double beds at the hotel. Hotel is advertised as no pets allowed but pets are allowed.
Beds are Really good Nice and quiet location of the rooms Breakfast definately was not worth Eur.17.50
The price and location is good. The bathroom is poor.
very quiet, perfect;
peaceful, right area, good bar food & service They offered a room without terrace before I reminded them we had booked a room with terrace.
supply of coffee/tea during breakfast
Quiteness of the Place The hotel is composed of a number of separate villas scattered in the forest so you need to have few minutes walk to the restaurant and other facilities. Each villa is made up of two floors with one room in each floor. The nearest bus stop is around 10-15 minutes. There are no nearby restaurants, shops or any kind of life at all. It is really scary quite place.
I particularly liked the layout and overall concept of the hotel and leisure complex. The restaurant also has a very nice atmosphere. The only critisism is the rather steep and narrow stairs to the accomodation level which might be a problem for some guests
Excellent hotel in picturesque woodland setting. Very good facilities. Room quiet, clean and comfortable. Good restaurant and also very extensive choice for breakfast. It was very warm during my stay so air conditioning in my room would have been much appreciated.
our breakfast in the serre. There was no swimmingpool or any indoor sportactivities
Location and hotel beautiful. Staff very friendly and polite. Good restaurant Bathroom was quite modest. Shower in bathtub. Cleanliness of room. We found hairpin on the floor from someone else and the bathroom wasn't very clean
You know how they say the Dutch aren't known for their customer service? This place proves them all wrong. The staff were warm, hospitable, full of initative, and the service is simply impeccable. No
The bed was one of the best we have experienced in any hotel, anywhere, regardless of price. The bedroom curtains closed properly ensuring a dark room at night even in the summer, and there was virtually no room-to-room noise. The staff in the lounge were excellent. Good car parking facilities. No.
Great location, quiet, large and luxurious rooms, great breakfast buffet, good price quality ratio.
Much better roadsigns are needed in the vicinity in order to find the hotel at night
dinner, breakfast & scenery
excellent base for exploring historic area - quiwt and very tasteful food was good but not excellent - prices far too close to those of New York without the quality to justify them
super friendly atmosphere with great food
Food was good, service good, staff communiocated well, overall satisfactory visit. Bedroom had the smell of stale tobacco, previously someone had been smoking in the room.
staff was nice and helpfull. decent bathroom for the price you are paying. not very clean, spiderwebs everywere. We asked for a quit room with our booking but got a ground floor room right next to the entrance and outside terrace. The staff was helpfull to change rooms, but the only other room left was extremely moist and smelly, very unhealthy. So we had to stay in the original room.
Friendly staff, quietness of the location; nice breakfast. Room interiors and common areas look old fashioned, but still ok.
peopel were very accomodating. Sigaret smoke in the office, hall ways and reception area.
we were on the quiet site of the hotel the breakfast was very basic, the key was kept on a place that every one could pick up the key. so we kept the key of the room with us.
friendly staff, quied countryside, very nice atmosphere to family escapade, location closed to interesting places in Holland
At the annex, called Linden, the rooms are a bit quaint but cozy, and the facilities are small but good. The tiny "town" of Bronkhorst has a lot of charm, as does the ferry to Brummel. There is also a direct road to Zutphen. There is an ok restaurant, but the one next door is really good (closed on Wednesdays).
The setting ( tiny, elegant village of Bronkhorst) was idyllic! The hotel and room decor were extremely charming. Ultra-modern bathroom. The village was like a movie set for a Jane Austen novel. The Dickens museum across the street was fascinating. Every Christmas the village does a re-enactment of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. No.
Excellent dinner, nice & romantic atmosphere
It was quite lovely and individual a breath of fresh air after the many chain hotels nothing would love to visit again and try all the other rooms they are all furnished and decorated individually its 500years old
The hotel is right in the middle of the charming, storybook-like town of Bronkhorst. It is a tiny town, but there are lots of things to see, and many artisans' shops. The rooms at the hotel are decorated in a cozy, old-fashioned way. But they are clean and comfortable. The bed (old-fashioned style) was excellent.
Tastfully decorated, pleasant atmosphere, staff very service oriented, beautiful surroundings nothing
The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good. The village was extremely beautiful.
Friendly but ineffecient staff. Beautiful location and surrounding countryside. Good food, well presented. Little if anything has been changed (I.E. decorated )since my last stay 5 yrs ago. Ineffecient systems of recording items charged to your room. Lack of response to problems with room facilities.
The ambience and location we're great! Loved the suite
Pleasant staff. Very clean, attractive accommodation. Good restaurant and bar. Very convenient in the centre of the village. It was difficult to have a shower in the bath under the slope of the roof.
great breakfast, beautiful environment, great cycling opportunities small room and thin walls, you could hear everything, stinky bathroom, there are two blocks, we stayed in the older and cheaper one. But not as bad as it sounds. You get what you pay for.
family run & very pleasant. They were very helpful to my husband on a mobility scooter.
The staff were very friendly Difficult to find.
it is a family run hotel and everyone was very nice and very kind. Wonderful people! breakfast until 10a.m. would have been perfect.
Friendly staff, nice location, free of charge internet access, good breakfast with warm breadrolls :D
Great hotel staff, lovely country side.
Tranquil in all rspects Directions poor !
Surroundings area is gorgeous. Yes.It was very cold in the room between 02 am and 07 am when Ieft it.
Senseo, tea kettle and dvd with flat screen tv, plus very nice surroundings...
The wood cabins were very cozy and everything was set for self service (coffee machine, small fridge, water heater, coffee & tea bags). Very close to the Hoge Velowe, great for seeing a forest upclose and getting back in touch with nature. It would be nice if they had a bike-taxi or regular taxi pickup from the station, otherwise it's a 15 min walk.
The accomadation was great very comfortable, the staff very friendly,
Very clean, great breakfast, wonderful and helpful staff.
Chatting with the local people who were very friendly. The room was pretty small and quite a walk with luggage.
Friendly staff, room was a quiet newer cabin. Good value, comfortable bed. Wireless internet was a little spotty, but worked. I would stay here again.
The room is clean, comfortable and quiet. It has wireless Internet and a refrigerator. The breakfast is good. All in all the room is good value for the money. There is no phone in the room.
Friendly staff, quietness, nice shower and good price value
really nice area and clean room with very quiet..
fantastic evening meal, excellent parking facilities.
Breakfast was great!!! Noisy and couldn't keep our windows open as is wasn't secure
the attitude of the staff, and the car parking, position easy to find,
The location is excellent, and the food in the food in the restuarant was good. Room service was the worse I have ever had. The room was poorly serviced and then the staff left the door to the room wide open for all members of the public to walk in and out at their wish. Very poor security.
The hotel was comfortable and not noisey
everyone were very helpful and friendly and location very central no, it is a real family hotel in nice surroundings.
comfortable beds ,clean room not suitable for people with walking difficulties as no lift and quite a few stairs .no ground floor rooms
Near park De Hoge Veluwe
Good value for the money. Nice terace. No Airco
The testimony to our satisfaction with Hotel Smittenberg is that we have now stayed there four times on our car journeys to and from Scandinavia and we have used it as a link to travel from Hook of Holland and also from Ostend, Dunkirk and Calais. It is very convenient, it provides us with good value and a 'no nonsense' service and the staff are friendly. We look forward to using it again and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
