Enjoyed being in the historic district and the English speaking guest mistress was delightful and very helpful. No elevator. I was up 3 flights and had a very heavy suitcase.
staff excellent!breakfast good and filling.rooms very clean and comfortable.
The hotel is a little far away from the train station. You have to walk across the city, but in the end is nice because you can have an impression of the city. The breakfast is good. There is not elevator. It's an old building.
Although not easy to find, and when you get there there is no real reception area, (it's in the cafe/bar) it was quiet and clean. The buffet is very modest but sufficient. The woman spoke english and was very friendly. I loved that it had free WiFi although it did come in and out. The location is actually quite good. 15 minute (or more if crowded) walk from train station but a few turns and a lot of cobblestone. Close to excellent restaurants. Although a very modest hotel with virtually no ammenities (soap, blowdryer, clock, etc.) it was clean and well priced. But the reason I did not stay more than one night is the pillows are intolerable. They are huge and fiberform instead of feather so they are not good at all for sleeping. If this place had nice pillows, it would have been fine.
authentic old style bavarian, good food, polite staff. loud, very loud. they had a concert the first (and only night) we stayed. hours were spent setting up the stage, clang clang clang, and then afterwards, clang clang clang.
The location was close to the shops and the pedestrianised area. I stayed at this hotel for only one night but I would not have stayed any longer. Firstly i found it difficult to find as there were several establishments Flotzinger Brau in nearby streets. I found the room very basic indeed with no comfort factor. I had to leave before breakfast so, i can't comment on that
The staffs are very nice to us and very helpful. The room are very clean.
Comfortable beds and spacy rooms, we had a double room and that was very convenient. Bathroom and toilet are very small. Receptionist could be more friendly.
I liked the breakfast and the location (very close to the clinic where I was treated). Staff was helpful and nice. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is pleasant and welcoming. I think the price was quite high for a hotel located in a little town where nothing happens. The bed was not comfortable, the TV set was small and one could only see programs in German.
nothing stood out. no, it is average
Typical Baverian hotel and decor. Very nice place to stay in the countryside outside of Munich. Good for golfers. TV so small you can't watch it.
Hotel was very nice. Small town and way on "S-bahn" to hotel gave me posibility to relax after the long day in the Munich. Old stile of hotel also was very fascinating.
Kind and helpful staff. A misunderstanding in our reservation resulted in a free upgrade to a suite, which was clean and comfortable, with a double sink in the bathroom and a great shower (not always the case in Germany!). The breakfast buffet was small but sufficient, with good, personal service. Just down the street there is an authentic Italian restaurant owned and operated by an Italian...
Only available hotel in Waldkraiburg. Very nice and friendly staff. Efforts made for a decent accomodation Concrete walls and excesively heated rooms
Excellent location. Good value for money. Very spacious and comfortable room. Own parking lot. Free WiFi. No air conditioning. In July the temperature is quite high and it was hard to sleep in the heat. The breakfast didn't have any vegetables.
quality of food/drink available in the bar
the hotel was within walking distance of railway station & main town centre ideal for short day or two break the bathroom was very small
Nice beer garden. Lovely old hotel.Food great. On a corner lots of noisy motorcycles going by.
good feeling that living in the community No wardrobe, very basic, no tea & coffee - used to a little bit more comfort. But staff where nice and very German so felt we had a feel of the culture
The toilet was totally dirty: Hair, dust everywhere...even an empty water bottle! Very poor breakfast. We arrived at 03:00 o'clock in the morning. Even though I have written an email saying so, I called to see that everything will be ok with this. We agreed that they would leave the key to a certain place for us. When we arrived, after a 6-hour-trip the key wasn't there. We called the phone number. Luckily someone was there! But he had to wake up, check first his p/c, having us waiting in the rain at 3:00 o'clock in the morning to make sure we weren't lying to him! He could just let us in and give us the key! Bad service, small room and very dirty at a high price!
Breakfast was good, rooms were clean Room very cold, bathroom very small, tile floors in room (?!?)
Very clean and new rooms. (We only stay one night, because we were going for Austria. Difficult to find, the map was too little. We need breakfast earlier, because we need to go as early as possible.
The hotel staffs were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is not at all 'value for money'.
Relaxed but efficient, rooms well apointed, dining and wine list great. Good value for money in a lovely region.
Generally helpful staff, especially the host, accessible restaurant, beautiful views, comfortable room. My internet connection in the room was shaky and the hosts did not seem to know how to turn on the English keyboard for th internet.
The location is beautiful and a good starting point for a lot of day trips to other interesting places in Bavaria or Austria like Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Königssee, Zell am See, Kitzbühel etc. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The wash rooms had no ventilation and when we had a shower the floor got a little flooded since the curtain did not close fully.
The location on the water, the rooms, the great , kind helpful service, and all the recreation.
the friendliness and proffessionalism of the staff. the location. the food. everything exceeded expecation
Attentive staff, excellent facilities and location. Outdated, it needs a soft renovation. Bad wireless reception in room, reception signal should be improved.
Slow service in Dining room
It is a beautiful, peaceful site where it is possible to relax with excellent amenities. No
location on lake chiemsee and the ability to go from the hotel to the lake for a swim. Good outdoor breakfast which is included in the price. Hotel is aged, it claims 4 stars but it needs to refurbished and is lost in a time warp of classic olde worlde Bavarian/Tyrolean design which doesnt work in a lake setting. Access to the lake is very small and not comfortable. Excessive development of the yacht marina has choked off the lake from the hotel. The art in the hotel is appalling, cheap quasi-African oils for sale, again not befitting an upmarket hotel. In general, many of the hotels on Lake Chiemsee and Bavaria in general are stuck in their old design format of checked fabrics, heavy furniture and bad design. I live nearby so I know what I am writing about compared to Italy, Spain or France
Easy to find by car, comfortable bed
Everything was OK. No complaints.
The hotel had flair, it was also very cozy. We enjoyed the balancy view. The traffic was not pleasant and the room smelled somewhat of smoke.
I was there only one night and this hotel has improved my expectations.
I appreciate the location of the hotel and the hotel staff too soft bed
Location: easy to find, close to the highway No restaurant, no place for dinner after a long traveling day. Misleading and unfair information in the reception, that the nearest restaurant is only in the center of Rosenheim, 20 min. walk from Alpina: I found the perfect restaurant across the street, in the neighbouring hotel, 100 m from Alpina.
very good, escellent breakfast
It is a nice, clean, comfortable hotel with a helpful staff.
The staff was very nice The bathroom was very small
is was pleasent to see that they are waiting for us evan our late arrivel with a cup of hot tee. we are gratfull for that
The young lady who spoke English was very helpful. Breakfast was good. We didn't realize that the hotel had no lift, and there was no one to help with the luggage.
no free internet as stated on web page
small friendly hotel, very clean and well run The hotel was great however the town was quite small with few restarunts.
The countryside feeling
The staff were A+ The location isn't that great, but it is close to Munich.
New / recently renovated hotel. Clean and spacious room wit large flatscreen TV. Good buffet breakfast. The location is farther from Munich then I had expected but seems nice for a pleasure trip. The prommissed free internet was not free afterall, but after complaining about it I got a wired adapter for use in the room. This worked fine.
The room was very attractive and well appointed. It excellent value for money and the breakfast had great variety and was above average.
nice and clean hotel in a village you have to pay for internet or you can get a cabel but there is only 1 in the hotel.
The Hotel is conveniently located and an excellent hotel for the business traveller.
We could walk to the nicer section of town. cubby hole rooms- No accessories like pictures to make it pleasant.
This is not a four star hotel.
convenient location in the heart of town no internet connection
comfortable room with good facilities, helpful staff and excellent breakfast room
room and restaurant to big!
only the breakfast, no good service I never will go there again
breakfast room We were not given a room on the quiet side of the hotel with mountain views as requested (as we had been given on a previous visit at New Year). We pointed this out to the management and asked to move. This was refused, saying it was not possible, yet it was obvious that the hotel was far from full during our stay. Considering that we were returning guests, we booked three months ago, we stayed for five nights not just one, and that we recommended the hotel to other friends whom we took with us on this occsion, we felt that this was poor service. All their literature says that they aim to please etc etc but it was just not true. In every other aspect, we find this an excellent hotel and ideally situated for visiting our relatives nearby - the accommodation is good and the breakfast room is excellent. However, we shall think twice before returning.
The location only rooms are very small and very hot
it was too short the rooms had no bath,
Room was bright and well appointed. Breakfast/dining room was lovely with view of Park. Service was excellent. Will stay here again.
Extrenmely friendly and attentive staff No free WiFi
it was centrally located in Rosenheim, the breakfast was nice the beds were very uncomfortable, extrememly hard. It was very loud at night. We stayed 4 nights. We did not sleep well there.
Restaurant is not open in the winner but just 200m away you have a good selection. In room facilities it states a DVD & CD Player but my room did not have one and as you only get CNN in English on the TV this would have been nice.
Great restaurant and service. nothing
We were 1 adult and 2 children when I booked in the internet there was no space for booking a triple roomm but it said I could paid extra (30 euros) for a bed for a child. The hotel wanted to charge me around 400 euros more for a suite to place the third bed.
Really nice hotel, after a long trip you could really relax.
The hotel was unique and the restaurant was good.
Extremely friendly staff, comfy rooms, and great restuarant Location was in the middle of a residentual area and by a gas station about a 5 minute taxi ride from the city center. There was free parking but it was behind someone's house. Internet wasn't free and had to go upstairs in the conference room to get a signal. Stay at this hotel if you want a nice place to sleep and eat at a great restuarant.
The staff was very polite. the Hotel is not comfortable at all bedwise and bathroomwise.
Very nice design througout all details.
The room and the staff the surroundings
The quirky style of the place, and the restaurant for its good food and excellent staff. Wardrobe too short to hang skirts/dresses or coats. Limited space to unpack - this would not be a problem for a shorter trip, but this was part of a longer trip for us. We had a small double room - no doubt reflected in the price. It was clean and functional, but no room for armchairs, for example. Bathroom also extremely cramped, no shelving, and shower unit leaked over floor.
It is a very unusual and unique design for a European hotel. The staff were excellent and very gracious. The restaurant was very clean and very cultural to the monastery theme. Staff were attentive, enjoyable and very eager to please the guests. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the hotel. I would highly recommend it.
Unusual decor. Hotel resembles a monastry. Loved all the candals lit around the hotel in the evening. Very interesting to stay in. Friendly staff. Nice selection at breakfast. Bathroom a little on the small side but again, an interesting concept. Tea and coffee making facilities in room would have been nice. Car parking difficult at night time as visiting restaurant guests took all the car spaces.
Unique building, the most special hotel I've ever stayed at. Very cosy and beautiful room. Excellent breakfast buffet. Squeaky bed.
Friendly considerate staff during a spell of poor winter weather. The hotel was warm, the room spotless, bathroom excellent. Staff cleared 150mm of snow from the car park and my car before I left. I would go there again and recommend it. The setting would be wonderful in summer. An unpleasant smell from the bathroom drains which disappeared once the water traps were in use. I booked a double bed but received two singles pushed together. We were too tired after a long drive to bother and had a good sleep!
The view from the room. The staff wasn't pleasant and helpful and they do not speak English. Breakfast was very poor for a 3 star hotel.
There was a bad smell from cows that come through the window of my room which should be kept cloded. Furthermore, the hotel is a little far away from the city center and the staff does not speak english very well.
food, full fridge and cheep drinks
The owner of the hotel was very gracious. The restaurant has a nice menu and their fish especially the fresh caught and smoked ones were a treat. The breakfast buffet was generous and the service prompt. The hotel is a 1/2 hour walk to the harbor where you catch the various ships to the islands. The walk to the town is about 1 hour. It is best to have a car when staying at this hotel.
Room, parking (free of charge), hotel staff, location, meal
Close to highway and the boat dock to Herren Cheimsee
The hotel is very good, especially the restaurant.Very good fish from Chiemsee.
Rode boats and visited castle
The restaurant is excellent - so good that we dined there twice in a three night stay
very comfortable in all respects.Excellent breakfast . could be 10 euro cheaper -would be fairer
free use internet, parking and location
Outstanding food service; good selection of dishes You will never get to catch any receptionist at the reception, day & night. They are not friendly & helpful if at all. No privacy preserved. Room service will just bust into your room at about any time even in case the do not disturb sign displayed.
A good clean hotel in a good location. It was not informed that Tuesday is Ruhtag (their day off), so when I arrived around 19:30 the reception was closed (i had to telephone the hotel to be let in) and the restaurant and bar were closed. I assume this only applicable to Tuesdays (possibly only in low season).
We wanted to stay in Prien because we know people who live nearby, in Rimsting. The hotel was in a nice location, and the room was clean and suitable for our needs. A baby cot was provided, and I appreciated the refrigerator to store my medicine. We also appreciated being able to use the computer and internet by the front desk at no charge. No.
We found the hotel to be charming, convenient, comfortable and very accesible to the castle. We ound it to be one of our favorite hotel stays on our triip.
This hotel was great for the location in Prien. Great value and breakfast. Attached to a confectionary which was great. Walking distance to the boat to go to Herrenchiemsee palace
Hotel staff, location and decoration.
Very good hotel with local tasty dishes in restourant. Location is excelent for the rest on Chemsee: just in front of piers. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms and free parking are great advantages.
The Hotel is perfect .Restuarant open all day.Locate at the port to the insel.Breakfast is wonderful.Bakery at the cafe is yummy and cheap.
first class accomodation, great food
Staff were the owners of the hotel. Very nice people and very clean. Hotel was newly renovated. Would recommend this hotel and would stay at this hotel again!!!
We rented two rooms, one room's bedding had extensive body hair...obviously sheets were never changed - this is unforgivable! Hotel (gasthaus/motel) was otherwise ok for the location. Staff (owners?) were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but met expectation for the price.I Am sure better value can be found elsewhere, I would not stay here again.
The food was outstanding. The rooms were cold and we couldn't get the heater to work. None of their information was in English.
Location excellent and welcoming.
Beautiful hotel with an excellent quality/price ratio in a village near Prien am Chiemsee. Perfect if you have a car to move arround Chiem lake, Herrenchiemsee palace, etc. Very peaceful, comfortable, kind staff and superior buffet breakfast included in the room price. Undoubtly I will come back. Reception is not available 24 h, although it isn´t a serious problem if you communicate the time of arrival.
The best thing about this hotel is its service. We had a bike accident the day we checked out. While I and my daughter were at the hospital, my husband rode the bike back to the hotel to get our car (to pick me up). He could not find the key of the rental car (not knowing I took it) adn thought he lost it. The hotel owner (father) was extremely kind in calling the rental company for help, driving my husband to the hospital and collecting the bikes. We are very grateful for their kindness.
I really enjoyed free internet access in the room. The collection of rabbits is fun, too. The tavern is nice, food is good and cheap.
Free wifi, very good breakfast, very quiet, big bathroom in the room Staff does not speak english
Services, facilities, etc are generally all good. Parking space may not be enough at peak time.
Everything, the people were friendly and helpful, great place.
The hotel has a good restaurant. Traffic noise during the day - but not a problem at night.
Beautiful traditional Bavarian architecture, comfortable rooms and friendly service. Good location in Prien, but Prien itself is further from Chiemsee than we expected.
Staffs are kind. Atomoshpere is good. Location is good, close the central station. Staffs are very kind but not fluent in English. It does not matter anyway.
Location and free parking. Nice room with balcony.
Staff always wiilling and courteous with a smile aspeaking perfect English. Hotel within walking distance of fabulous Lake facilities and associated sports
Friendly staff, great food and value for money in the hotel restaurant. Free wireless is a definate bonus.
The restaurant serves terrific dinner. One of the best we had in Bavaria. The English menu should be updated
Central location in the town. Room rate/price. Private parking was adverrised as available at 6.50 Euros per night. We requested private parking on our internet reservation. When we checked in we we escorted to the private underground parking by a friendly receptionist who was dismayed to find a big Mercedes car already in the space available for my car. The receptionist was very concerned and helpful but unable to resolve the problem so we had to drive back up the ramp and park in the hotel public parking area. We had requested the private secure parking as our car was full of valuable personal effects as we were driving from UK to Greece.
Bavarian style of decor / furnishings / helpful staff
The owner's and personel's wish to make one happy without any obviously shown effort; you have the feeling of staying in their house and they like having content guests.
The hotel staff were not offended by our inability to speak German and they did not speak English. They were able to help us find an ATM. The staff was always very courteous The hotel has lots of character befitting the Bavarian location. The hotel fronts on a busy street. Luckily we were at the back of the hotel and heard only the construction going on next door.
The staff spoke enough English that we could talk & order food at their great resturant. They always asked how our day was, what we saw, made recommondations for other sites as well. Never asked for a credit card, or deposit, or address either. Very good location for day trips around Germany. Very old quaint hotel.
very reliable staff and easy to find with the GPS
Breakfast was good, bed was good, rooms clean. I didn't see the staff at all, only on the breakfast. Service could be better
Enough parking-space. Spacious room, with fine/warm furniture; little balcony; big T.V.; spacious bathroom. Dinner: good prices. Only critics on details: shower gives some trouble with water on floor; restaurant lacks intimacy; hotel is a bit outside the city: not much to see/do in the immediate proximity. But a very good place to stay one night on your way to further south (as I did).
Absolutely NOTHING!!!! This “hotel” doesn’t’ have a telephone, hard to find anyone who speaks English. Receptionist was extremely unfriendly and I thought we are a bother to her because we didn’t speak German. Breakfast was suppose to be included but the older gentleman
Very friendly and professional service. Very nice Bavarian atmosphere, very good restaurant with local food. Very near Rosenheim centre with country side feeling.
The staff was nice, he gave me a better room because the bed suitet me better (1.95 m). I didnt meet anyone that could understand/speak english, a bit strange for such a large hotel with that many rooms. If you need internet pay at local phonebox inside hotel not the one out on the street in front of the hotel.
nice stuff and resturant hard to find
The staff is very welcoming...Ms. Ingrid is lovely !
Calm and situation on my travel leg. Germany must be the only country left where a single is a small one person bed with face in wall...
Thank you so much ingrid & richard! The most Welcoming, charming, courteous and friendly hotel we stayed at in Bavaria. Our room was beautiful, clean and so comfortable, and the food was truly fantastic! Also, a great place to stay for day-tripping to Salzburg or Munich. Easy train connections. Schenchen is only an 8-minute train ride from Rosenheim, and from there train connections to Austria or other cities in Germany is very easy. We encourage everyone to stay at this hotel - you will be greeted with great warmth and treated so kindly!! We will return to Landgast-Hotel - it is Superior! For those on the road for two to three weeks - there is a coin operated laundry in Rosenheim - only open Mon. to Fri. stay here!
The atmosphere and the staff
the hospitability of the staff, the unique atmosphere, the comfort of the rooms no
