I liked the breakfast and the location (very close to the clinic where I was treated). Staff was helpful and nice. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is pleasant and welcoming. I think the price was quite high for a hotel located in a little town where nothing happens. The bed was not comfortable, the TV set was small and one could only see programs in German.
Comfortable beds and spacy rooms, we had a double room and that was very convenient. Bathroom and toilet are very small. Receptionist could be more friendly.
nothing stood out. no, it is average
Hotel was very nice. Small town and way on "S-bahn" to hotel gave me posibility to relax after the long day in the Munich. Old stile of hotel also was very fascinating.
Typical Baverian hotel and decor. Very nice place to stay in the countryside outside of Munich. Good for golfers. TV so small you can't watch it.
The room and the staff the surroundings
Unique building, the most special hotel I've ever stayed at. Very cosy and beautiful room. Excellent breakfast buffet. Squeaky bed.
It is a very unusual and unique design for a European hotel. The staff were excellent and very gracious. The restaurant was very clean and very cultural to the monastery theme. Staff were attentive, enjoyable and very eager to please the guests. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the hotel. I would highly recommend it.
Unusual decor. Hotel resembles a monastry. Loved all the candals lit around the hotel in the evening. Very interesting to stay in. Friendly staff. Nice selection at breakfast. Bathroom a little on the small side but again, an interesting concept. Tea and coffee making facilities in room would have been nice. Car parking difficult at night time as visiting restaurant guests took all the car spaces.
Extremely friendly staff, comfy rooms, and great restuarant Location was in the middle of a residentual area and by a gas station about a 5 minute taxi ride from the city center. There was free parking but it was behind someone's house. Internet wasn't free and had to go upstairs in the conference room to get a signal. Stay at this hotel if you want a nice place to sleep and eat at a great restuarant.
The quirky style of the place, and the restaurant for its good food and excellent staff. Wardrobe too short to hang skirts/dresses or coats. Limited space to unpack - this would not be a problem for a shorter trip, but this was part of a longer trip for us. We had a small double room - no doubt reflected in the price. It was clean and functional, but no room for armchairs, for example. Bathroom also extremely cramped, no shelving, and shower unit leaked over floor.
The staff was very polite. the Hotel is not comfortable at all bedwise and bathroomwise.
The hotel was unique and the restaurant was good.
Really nice hotel, after a long trip you could really relax.
Very nice design througout all details.
Relaxed but efficient, rooms well apointed, dining and wine list great. Good value for money in a lovely region.
The location on the water, the rooms, the great , kind helpful service, and all the recreation.
the friendliness and proffessionalism of the staff. the location. the food. everything exceeded expecation
The location is beautiful and a good starting point for a lot of day trips to other interesting places in Bavaria or Austria like Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Königssee, Zell am See, Kitzbühel etc. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The wash rooms had no ventilation and when we had a shower the floor got a little flooded since the curtain did not close fully.
It is a beautiful, peaceful site where it is possible to relax with excellent amenities. No
Generally helpful staff, especially the host, accessible restaurant, beautiful views, comfortable room. My internet connection in the room was shaky and the hosts did not seem to know how to turn on the English keyboard for th internet.
Attentive staff, excellent facilities and location. Outdated, it needs a soft renovation. Bad wireless reception in room, reception signal should be improved.
Slow service in Dining room
location on lake chiemsee and the ability to go from the hotel to the lake for a swim. Good outdoor breakfast which is included in the price. Hotel is aged, it claims 4 stars but it needs to refurbished and is lost in a time warp of classic olde worlde Bavarian/Tyrolean design which doesnt work in a lake setting. Access to the lake is very small and not comfortable. Excessive development of the yacht marina has choked off the lake from the hotel. The art in the hotel is appalling, cheap quasi-African oils for sale, again not befitting an upmarket hotel. In general, many of the hotels on Lake Chiemsee and Bavaria in general are stuck in their old design format of checked fabrics, heavy furniture and bad design. I live nearby so I know what I am writing about compared to Italy, Spain or France
We could walk to the nicer section of town. cubby hole rooms- No accessories like pictures to make it pleasant.
room and restaurant to big!
breakfast room We were not given a room on the quiet side of the hotel with mountain views as requested (as we had been given on a previous visit at New Year). We pointed this out to the management and asked to move. This was refused, saying it was not possible, yet it was obvious that the hotel was far from full during our stay. Considering that we were returning guests, we booked three months ago, we stayed for five nights not just one, and that we recommended the hotel to other friends whom we took with us on this occsion, we felt that this was poor service. All their literature says that they aim to please etc etc but it was just not true. In every other aspect, we find this an excellent hotel and ideally situated for visiting our relatives nearby - the accommodation is good and the breakfast room is excellent. However, we shall think twice before returning.
comfortable room with good facilities, helpful staff and excellent breakfast room
only the breakfast, no good service I never will go there again
This is not a four star hotel.
convenient location in the heart of town no internet connection
The Hotel is conveniently located and an excellent hotel for the business traveller.
The location only rooms are very small and very hot
it was too short the rooms had no bath,
We were 1 adult and 2 children when I booked in the internet there was no space for booking a triple roomm but it said I could paid extra (30 euros) for a bed for a child. The hotel wanted to charge me around 400 euros more for a suite to place the third bed.
Great restaurant and service. nothing
very reliable staff and easy to find with the GPS
The hotel staff were not offended by our inability to speak German and they did not speak English. They were able to help us find an ATM. The staff was always very courteous The hotel has lots of character befitting the Bavarian location. The hotel fronts on a busy street. Luckily we were at the back of the hotel and heard only the construction going on next door.
Bavarian style of decor / furnishings / helpful staff
Absolutely NOTHING!!!! This “hotel” doesn’t’ have a telephone, hard to find anyone who speaks English. Receptionist was extremely unfriendly and I thought we are a bother to her because we didn’t speak German. Breakfast was suppose to be included but the older gentleman
Enough parking-space. Spacious room, with fine/warm furniture; little balcony; big T.V.; spacious bathroom. Dinner: good prices. Only critics on details: shower gives some trouble with water on floor; restaurant lacks intimacy; hotel is a bit outside the city: not much to see/do in the immediate proximity. But a very good place to stay one night on your way to further south (as I did).
Very friendly and professional service. Very nice Bavarian atmosphere, very good restaurant with local food. Very near Rosenheim centre with country side feeling.
The staff spoke enough English that we could talk & order food at their great resturant. They always asked how our day was, what we saw, made recommondations for other sites as well. Never asked for a credit card, or deposit, or address either. Very good location for day trips around Germany. Very old quaint hotel.
The staff was nice, he gave me a better room because the bed suitet me better (1.95 m). I didnt meet anyone that could understand/speak english, a bit strange for such a large hotel with that many rooms. If you need internet pay at local phonebox inside hotel not the one out on the street in front of the hotel.
The owner's and personel's wish to make one happy without any obviously shown effort; you have the feeling of staying in their house and they like having content guests.
Breakfast was good, bed was good, rooms clean. I didn't see the staff at all, only on the breakfast. Service could be better
Enjoyed being in the historic district and the English speaking guest mistress was delightful and very helpful. No elevator. I was up 3 flights and had a very heavy suitcase.
staff excellent!breakfast good and filling.rooms very clean and comfortable.
The location was close to the shops and the pedestrianised area. I stayed at this hotel for only one night but I would not have stayed any longer. Firstly i found it difficult to find as there were several establishments Flotzinger Brau in nearby streets. I found the room very basic indeed with no comfort factor. I had to leave before breakfast so, i can't comment on that
The staffs are very nice to us and very helpful. The room are very clean.
Although not easy to find, and when you get there there is no real reception area, (it's in the cafe/bar) it was quiet and clean. The buffet is very modest but sufficient. The woman spoke english and was very friendly. I loved that it had free WiFi although it did come in and out. The location is actually quite good. 15 minute (or more if crowded) walk from train station but a few turns and a lot of cobblestone. Close to excellent restaurants. Although a very modest hotel with virtually no ammenities (soap, blowdryer, clock, etc.) it was clean and well priced. But the reason I did not stay more than one night is the pillows are intolerable. They are huge and fiberform instead of feather so they are not good at all for sleeping. If this place had nice pillows, it would have been fine.
authentic old style bavarian, good food, polite staff. loud, very loud. they had a concert the first (and only night) we stayed. hours were spent setting up the stage, clang clang clang, and then afterwards, clang clang clang.
The hotel is a little far away from the train station. You have to walk across the city, but in the end is nice because you can have an impression of the city. The breakfast is good. There is not elevator. It's an old building.
Close and affiliated with Chimsee Therme Wi-Fi only in public spaces
Entry to the baths include in price.
Free entry to the Thermewelt. Nice view from the room. Not far from area attractions. Parking in garage was very small and very low. Charge for the tax free coupon that I did not needed. Laud music from the next door restaurant on Saturday night.
A very comfortable hotel, close enough to reach by car the ferry to visit Herrenchiemsee palace on the nearby island. Very large room and free services such as Wi-Fi internet. Good restaurant.
Proximity to the Chiemsee Therme Spa and free admission to that spa. It is our 4th time there.
Clean bathroom, quite environment, very close to the spa (free entrance), availability of sauna (EUR 4.5), massages (EUR 35) Poor knowing of English by the personnel, we had a broken couch in the room, mostly old people in hotel and spa
The staff were great! Answered all our questions and even did some internet searches for us to get more complete answers. They were willing to listen to my really bad German and speak really slowly back in German or in English. Would like a larger wi-fi coverage.
Very nice receptionist. Clean and spacious rooms. Very nice breakfast. Absolutely awesome having a pool facility next door. For us great being half way between Munich and Salzburg Beds a little hard
Very convinient location with the working distance to the mineral pool and spa. Good service and comfortable rooms. Breakfast included.
big room (important for familly); wonderful view, silence,
The room was ok and clean. The view and surrounding countryside was fantastic, The icebox was full of ice and the kitchen light didnt work. The manageress was put out to the point of being rude when confronted about this. The whole place lacks attention to detail.
The rooms are very large and having a small kitchen was a real benefit. The hotel is somewhat out-of-the way. It is a 7 km trip to Prien and Lake Chimsee. However, for us the benefits outweighted the distance.
Breakfast was fantastic and the room size was brilliant. Location was also spot on, not far from the town centre but great views from balcony.
I liked the room, it was big and fresh. The breakfastbuffet was large. The food in half board was good for its price. I appreciated the lift. I did not use the spa facilities. The view was marvellous. I saw several swimmers in the lake.
Very pleasant hotel, good value for money, nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast the following morning. Very quiet which is a big plus! Hotels always overcharge for telephone calls and this one was no exception. My fault for not charging my mobile! Seating plans for breakfast a bit ott.
very good breakfast the room was humid
