The breakfast was excellent. Staff very attentive to what needed replenishing.Staff polite and quite friendly. We were the only non-Germans staying in the hotel. I speak German but the owner did little to engage me in conversation whereas she was very chatty with the German guests.
Dined in the restaurant, the meal was very good. Service was pleasant, and helpfully they spoke some English. Overall a nice experience, the people were helpful. The room was clean, the bathroom quite modern. I would stay there again. The bed linen was too short to cover both my shoulders and my feet at the same time--I am only 180 cm! If you stay there, ask for extra (or longer) blankets!
Thoough out of season the proprietor made special arrangements for our 1-day stay. A mini-kitchen was included in our room - though we didn't use the facility. Breakfast was excellent. As it was out of season when we were there, the restaurant was closed for evening meals.
so nice place to live there.and nice staff here.
Friendly staff, very good breakfast, big apartment with fine price, quiet and green around, close to Neuschwanstein, warm kitchen up to 21:00, possibility to store bicycles in garage. Buzzer in toilet a bit loud :)
Hotel staff friendly, good for 1 night, surely not for longer vacation. Hotel and rooms very old.
Friendliness of the staff
There is a perfect Alp mountains view from the window and if you are looking for a quiet holiday with you family this would be a perfect fit.
Warm and friendly hosts, view from balcony, food and drink.
Clean and spacious room, kind staff, excellent breakfast!!!
Everything, including the breakfast was great.
The location is very good and convenient, the staff was helpful and courteous. Please keep it up.
The Hotel was beautiful, staff were very friendly and the location was very good.
The staff. always a smile Is is a older hotel with nowadays prices. could be lowered
meals, rooms and service are very good. There is a spa center in the hotel, but no pool one issue - the hotel is located across the railway station and there is a park behind the hotel where young people socialize till midnight and this is very noisy and annoying
Central location, large comfortable room overlooking small square yet still quiet with an excellent breakfast and u/g parking. Not cheap.
Everything was almost perfect: staff is friendly and ready to help, location is perfect for people travelling without a car, room was spacious, no noise from outside, breakfast is good, etc.
Friendly staff, cleanliness Our room was overlooking the train station which was noisy due to people (teenagers) hanging around
The room was very big and was facing the mountains. The bathroom was brand new, big and clean. The hotel is close to the castle and the mountains, very handy. The staff didn't speak English. The food wasn't good.
The hotel is very close to the train station; it has a wonderful wellness center. There was a long circuitous walk to my room and my room was over the courtyard which was noisy and smoky.
Haus Gabriel is a B&B service, you get what's advertised. It is a budget accommodation albeit slightly on the expensive side for the offer. The rooms were fitted with facilities; this somewhat compensated for lack of dedicated breakfast hall. The staff member we met was very helpful, spoke good English, advised us on local attractions and places to eat. The quality of renovations made leaves a bit to desire in order to bring this B&B up to the European standard. The rooms were advertised as double but were in fact twin. No credit cards accepted - but this is somewhat of a problem for the whole shopping and staying experience in Germany so was no surprise.
There was nothing redeming about this hotel We had to wait 20 minutes in the bakery for someone to show up to allow us to check in. Once in the "Bed and Breakfast" there are lights hanging from the ceiling, there are old mattresses in the hallway, the door to the bathroom doesn't close, the sweetly leave you the cleaning products so that you can clean the bathroom yourself, the tv doesn't work, and the room smells like old cigarettes. My favorite part of the experience was when he asked for cash as soon as we arrived (not at the end of the stay), and then added "fees" to the confirmed total, and finally asked us to take the paperwork for him to the tourist office. All of this is capped off with your breakfast - which to get you have to walk down four flights of stairs, knock on a door, wait for them to give you the food (2 pieces of bread, and some meat) and then walk back up the four flights of stairs to your room.
Staff was nice.Location was perfect.Room was clean.I like here!! I wanted to pay by creditcard coz I am tourist so I didnt have much cash! But anyways,I like this B&B.
The location of this B&B is perfect for those visiting Fussen. For American visitors...the breakfast part of the B&B will not be a traditional American breakfast.
location is nearby the station , staff (owner) is nice and room is clean
Location is good, just 5 mins walk fr fussen station.much cheaper than the adjacent hotels. But i think it cannot be regarded as a hotel. I guess the owner of the "hotel" owns several floors or rooms of the house and rent them out for tourist or for short term rental. The hotel checkin is supposed to be done at a cafe on the ground floor of the house, but the staff of the cafe are not quite helpful. When we arrived at 6pm while the cafe staff were closing their business, they refused to let us in and even ignored us. We need to go back to the station to make phone call to the house owner. ( i dont think the cafe owner n the hotel owner is the same person. i guess they hv a deal that the cafe just provides breakfast n checkin assistance). Then the owner brought us to the back of the house n walked along several stairs, which was quite dark, old n the setting was a bit terrible. But when we entered into the room, it was clean, bright, tidy n larger than I ever imagined. All in all, Inside the room was ok, n I just not felt quite comfortable with the setting of the corridor n the stairs. Btw, there is a supermarket near the hotel. We bought some fruits n drinks at v reasonable prices.
It provided a perfect base for me to explore the nearby dream castles, the old town and other wonderful sceneries. Perfectly located in the town, only 1or 2 minutes from that small railway station where you arrive; the bus stop in the front of the railway station can provide you buses to castles. If you queue early enough for bus, it only takes you around 15 minutes to reach the tickets office to castles. A superstore is nearby, where I bought food and drinks with lowest prices I found in Germany. The room is quite good: clean simple, with all the basic necessities to help yourself, and the staffs are very friendly, with typical German breakfast, I found the price I pay was quite valued. This is no 'Haus Gabriel B&B' outside. Although the bakery is exactly like what you would see on their picture, I still spent some time to locate its address. As the first day I arrived there late, missed the check in time I had fixed with the staff, I found the bakery was closed, no one was there! It was only around 6 pm! I had to contact the staff through the telephone number they provided; I had to go to the nearby hotel to find a telephone to phone them. Fortunately, there was still an answer.
Location is good.....near to train station. . The hotel should have a elevator, as we had to climb to the 3rd level with our luggage
it is very convenient in terms of the location, close to the bus/railway station and old town. The room is simple and clean, it come with a small kitchen facilities which is very convenient, the bathroom is newly renovated too! The breakfast is from the bakery downstairs and it is very good. After all, it is a simple B&B, good enough if you are looking for something simple and money worth. The gentleman who lead you to the room is a very friendly and nice guy speaking very good English. the only problem was upon the arrival, as the bakery is simply a contact point, if you are lucky enough to arrive before it is closed, it will be better i think. We just happened to walk pass the bakery and when we returned, it was almost closed and we were waiting outside the bakery until the gentleman come pick us up in a cold and dark winter night.
Location Front day was not manned when we arrived to leave our luggage to sightsee. Had to time our departure around the time the desk was open so we could store our bags while we went sightseeing.
Great location. Loved having two bedrooms. No elevator. Parking was very expensive. Breakfast should come with the room but we found a great breakfast place down the street.
Beautiful setting outside of Fussen on a hill above a lake. Room nice size, clean. Quiet - great for walking and biking. Fun Irish pub with good food run by hotel owners in basement. Infrequent bus service to hotel area. We took taxi from train to hotel (11 each way) and to castle (22 each way)
excellent staff - very friendly. Room was fantastic with an amazing view of the lake. Breakfast was also plentiful with lots of variety and very tasty would have liked to have air conditioning as it gets very hot during the day and the room gets stuffy
Perfect quiet location with south-facing views across Hopfensee, undisturbed by small village road running between hotel and lake; private family-run hotel with individual character and efficient and friendly service; beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable bedroom in unfussy modern style; pleasant walks right from the door, with start of mountain trails within a short drive (we picked up excellent free walking map at brand new tourist office a few steps away).
Very relaxing atmosphere; delightful balcony; good food; welcoming and pleasant staff; close to sights in area.
Super accommodation, friendly and efficient staff, good value for money No
Beautiful scenery, lovely room, pleasant staff, delicous food. would have been nicer to have a double bed instead of two singles stuck together with individual duvets.
location, family atmosphere, good food noises from neighbouring room due to thin walls
The staff were very attentive and because I had booked for two nights, had upgraded the room to a front view of the lake. Fantastic. Nothing at all
the best location ever!the room was lovely and everything from the breakfast to our room was great and luxurious!perfect 10 from us!!!
The view and location where nice. The hotel has a little car park. Of course you can park in front of the hotel if its a quit day.
I enjoyed every minute No
nice staff, pretty grounds, close to town nothing,, for the price a great value
Amazing views, tranquil gardens, great breakfast Extremely small room with the side of the bed pushed up against the wall, uncomfortable bed, no air conditioning, wasp nest on window
The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. They seemed to really care and be very enthusiastic to help. The breakfast was good, not great. I have stayed all over Europe many times over the past three decades, so when I say that the rooms (we had to get two to accommodate two adults and two children ages 5 and 7) were small. I mean they were VERY VERY VERY SMALL. One of the two really was the size of a closet - my closet at home! The beds, themselves, looked like the cheapest plastic Ikea bed you could purchase. Needless to say the bed felt terrible and we all go a terrible nights sleep. Beware, this isn't really a Villa as described, and the grounds also were not as picturesque as depicted online. We paid WAY TOO MUCH for what we got. BEWARE.
Out of the way but has a lot of charm. The staff were great. Food was great and breakfast WAS included which made it one of the best and best value rooms we had on our trip. There were several bathrooms to choose from and they were clean and updated. No TV in rooms, but it may have changed the feel of the area if there had been.
The hotel is in a beautiful rural location between two towns with a beautiful country feel inside. We upgraded our room for a few Euro and got a suite with an included bathroom, balcony, huge bed, couch with a hide-a-bed and beautiful furniture. the staff didn't seem quite as friendly as I'm accustomed to in Bavaria, and their English was really rough for an area that I would think would attract so many tourists.
The friendliness and willingness of the staff to meet our every need. In fact, when we had to leave earlier then they served breakfast, they made a lunch for us to take with us instead! No, I cannot think of one thing I didn't like about this hotel.
We stayed in Berghof two nights. The hotel is pretty well located, however it was not easy to find. Rooms are very spacious. In our room there was a small kitchen which is good, as a grocery store is around the corner, so we could arrange an afternoon tee on the balcony. Swimming pool and sauna are a good bonus as well. We could not get connected to wireless internet and hotel staff had no idea of how it works.
For being a 4 stars hotel, I missed a mini-bar and a more equipped and larger bathroom. The staff also could not speak much English and did not warned us about the kitchen was closed at 21h. I was expecting a better service for the price we paid.
nice place, large rooms, clean and very well equiped, wifi convenient, very friendly host (Frau Schade), hotel is very easy to reach, short walk to Nesselwang center and swimming pool, great views over Alps Everything was ok, one suggestion would be to make the in-house sauna/spa free to enter.
The hotel was ideally located to explore the many interesting sites in that area and the owners were both friendly and helpful. The accommodation was brilliant, well appointed and spacious and we would certainly consider returning to this venue./
No english spoken
nice hosts, nice accomodation (our room was more a small apartment rather than only a room), excellent breakfast nothing bad at all. Just some suggestion, sauna included in the rate would be apreciated as well as shampoo and soap in the room.
When I arrived the owner let met in & went into a room, which I didn't go in, as I thought it was her private flat, however it was my room: ...rooms infact! ...A lounge/diner/kitchenette with balcony, a bedroom & bathroom. I stayed at 10 places on a 2 week, 2 day holiday & the accommodation here was better than places costing 120 Euro for one person per night.
