Clean, great staff, great food and service. Fantastic view Crazy road to hotel
The service, excellent views, great food, relaxing atmosphere, really enjoyed the swimming pool, excellent all round!!
friendliness of staff and their sense of initiative. Great location! There is only one entry /exit for hotel guests and parties . When party busses line up one cannot get into the hotel and this creates problems
Fantastic historic location, on top of a hill in a beautiful park away from the crowd, and still within 20 minutes drive from the main business and attraction area's near Bonn. Ideal for travellers by car. Good facilities, very spacious standard rooms, nice SPA area. Great breakfast. A little disappointed about the small old TV set in the room. Would expect a larger flat screen TV in such a 5 star hotel facility.
Everything was perfect, really nice staff, it worths the price. I strongle recommend it.
Quality of the food and helpful staff cleanliness of the toilet was below standard
Wow this is a beautiful hotel! Fantastic room, amazing outlook, excellent restaurant and breakfast, friendly heplful staff. We loved our stay here only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fantastic facitities more. There's also a lot to see and do in and around the pretty town of Konigswinter.
The Petersberg Gasthof is an historical Castle. It hosted the Allied Government at the end of the World War. Then the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn arranged international events and dinner there. Foreign Ministers used to be guests at the Grand Hotel. Unfortunately, after the capital moved to Berlin, the Castle lost such grand allure but it is still luxurious. It has nice suites filled with antiques. One can enjoy an astonishig view of the Rhine Valley while drinking a Riesling on the terrace or having dinner at the restaurant.
Beautiful view and a lot of history.
This hotel is still used for international conferences and has facilities accordingly. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Rhine and the rooms are large and high. Excellent place! I don't know why up-market hotels have to charge a fortune for Wi-Fi, when others with fewer stars supply it for free. They wanted 22EUR per day, we declined.
The view from their Rhein terasse was super. The surroundings are beautiful and the town of Konigswinter is near. I had first booked a single room. That was depressingly small and grey. I changed to a double which was only 20 euro's more and it was huge and spacious.
Good convenient position, plenty of parking, exceptionally clean and very good value for money. Good train links to Koln and Bonn.
Wired internet in the room. Restaurants and other activities (casino) just around the hotel. A bit expensive.
The staff of the hotel is not good in English and not very helpful to foreign travellers.
The co-opertaive staff Not really
Staff where very helpful and understanding of specical requirements Double room was a bit small for two persons with thier bags
Transportation to and from the airport makes the hotel a good choice when travelling from Cologne airport.
It was peace of mind Every thing was parfect
There were several restaurants in the immediate area. The staff did not know about using the VAT form so I did not have to pay the tax on the hotel
The buffet breakfast was very varied and plentiful, a good start to the morning. Tea and coffee facilities in the the room were very poor. The price of the hotel was expenseive compared with the one at Munich airport.
(1) It is only hotel on that day that I could find with a free wifi and not so far away from Bonn City. (All the hotel in Bonn City was full on that day. (2) The design of the room is very nice. It is too loud. I already closed the window. But I was bothered by the noise outside and couldn't sleep almost a whole night. And in the morning, I was really bad-luck that many children just screaming outside my window.
nice, new, good design, helpful staff no
The staff were great, friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was super and I slept really well. Inthe summer there is a pool and small water park - would be great for kids. All was pretty perfect - but come on, don'y ruin your image for a bottle of water - 5 euros !!!! 8And not even a minibar to drink it chilled). Hotels really ought to begin to understand they lose points doing this kind iof thing!! Take your own water (as by now I always do!). Give your guests a bottle of water free - it costs nothing and we will think even better about you.
Good service, friendly staff, value for money. Everything was to my expetation.
A very well designed and modern hotel. Excellent decor and food
Clean, good waterpark, not luxurious but decent breakfast. I booked suite, but only got a comfort double. Price was adjusted according to differnt room types, but not other compensation for their overbooking/mistake. Indoor pool is closed, luckily the weather was good enough to enjoy the outdoor pool. Parking is not really convenient enough, need some up and down walk, not good with big luggages.
The staff were nice. The room was spacious. Internet connection is not free but charged.
The Kranz Parkhotel is a typical German mid-range hotel located near to the centre of Siegburg. The ICE/S-Bahn station at Siegburg-Bonn is within 10 minutes easy walk with light luggage or a short taxi ride with more. This makes it a reasonable option for visiting cities such as Cologne (10-30mins by train depending on service) and a much more economical location at times of peak demand such as major exhibitions. The ICE line runs to Frankfurt airport in the other direction (40mins) and there are local trains to Bonn and other Rhine cities. The hotel is clean and friendly, with a good quality breakfast buffet. I would certainly stay here again.
Our room was spacious with a very comfortable large bed. The ensuite had both a bath and separate shower cubicle and two sinks. The breakfast buffet was excellent with an extensive range of both hot and cold food available. The staff were very polite and helpful. We will use this hotel again and recommend it to friends.
I have stayed at this hotel several times, and would recommend it. The restaurant is excellent and the breakfast offers a range of cooked or cold food suitable for all tastes. The cocktail bar is a pleasant way to unwind after a day shopping.
Limited breakfast, not enough pillows
Beautiful room...spacious and lovely bathroom. The staff in restaurant was wonderful. Quiet room for comfortable sleep. Poor lighting and access at the rear of hotel to where we had our car parked. I fell when I couldn't see a step in the dark when exiting to the car. I'm sure most people wouldn't have that happen...but I was pushing luggage and just didn't see it in the dark.
It is a typical congress hotel, laying at an important interjunction of railways and highways. It strikes me that it is very quiet in the room. Travelling with the U-bahn to Bonn is convenient, but it takes a while.
Location, Parking options meaning public parking next to hotel at 2,50 per day is good. Good competent desk staff. Breakfast not up to standard of hotel.
Clean and spacious room. I had the double room. Location excellent only 10 minutes walk from the train station.
cleanliness, courtesy, efficiency
The location was beautiful, as were the hotel facilities. The room was spacious, lovely, also there were seating areas in the large corridors. Free use of sauna fitness and solarium (at the time of my stay-Sep 2007) make a good point when it comes to relax. The staff was very helpful and nice, and the food was great. There is truly nothing I would dislike.
Atmosphere/ambiance, food , surroundings...could not fault it! I did not stay long enough!
Very old fashioned, they promissed internet and there was not. Noisy.
Quite, breakfest, design
It was beautiful! Very quaint and cozy, and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
comfortable restaurant & quite
bed and breakfast. inconvenient if you're not driving.
The hotel was very comfortable and peaceful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We`ll surely come back again! -
Location - close to airport Grounds Breakfast Very nice, but misrepresented 4-star rating (3-star more accurate)
We appreciate a lot the hotel, the room very big and clean and very cheap. Very calm place too ! The staff was very nice. We recommand that place for your familly. It s better to come with car. The restaurant for the brekfast is small. If you want to go to koln, it's little bit far : 25km, so you need a car.
Had a lovely adn calm stay with dinner on their balcony facing the river - delicious food and attentive staff - room was very comfortable and well equipped.
Location, view, breakfast. We also had a very good evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
Large room with river view, separate living area as well as bedroom & bathroom. Car park secure and large. Staff helpful, swimming pool and fitness complex very clean and great to use. Good location for the town. Our room either wasn't cleaned on our second day or wasn't cleaned well - towels were replaced but that was it. This we reported to staff as we came to leave. One of the bars was closed throughout our stay.
The room and bathroom were very nice No.
The staff were particularly helpful.
No obvious faults.
The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere, the staff was extremely courteous and quick to serve The only thing that was pleasing to me were the pillows weren't plush enough; everyday I had a cramp in my neck from the night's sleep; even if I doubled the pillows
Nice hotel in quiet Konigswinter, in lovely riverbank setting. Good access to Bonn.
Nothing really You have to pay for everything...wireless, parking. hall ceilings are only 7 ft. high...Lobby was crowded with chairs. price was high without even breakfast.
Friendleness and service of staff
The nature outside There was no bath. I asked for one king size bed. It was not available
I visited on a Sunday night in January and there must have been only another three or four guests. In the summer this would be a lovely location for a family trip or for a mature couple. Everything was very efficient although most of the staff seeme dto have a cold!
Staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are really big. No water cooker in the room. Information about the hotel in a dirty folder. Functional but tasteless design.
The room had plenty of space and was designed very warm and friendly The heater in the bedroom didn't work and the fee for breakfast of 14 Euro is way too much.
The staff was friendly. The man behind the desk was very happy to make us a coffee at midnight. The room was quite spartan for a 4 star hotel. The shower was not easy to get into. The mattress was sagging, and one could feel the springs. Airplanes landing at Köln/Bonn airport fly right over head. There is air traffic after midnight. One has to pay for wireless LAN use. Prices are not advertised in the room, have to ask the staff. Rooms have no air conditioning.
The staff was extremely helpfull. The apartment we got was just perfect for all of us and especially the kids - the kids room was equiped with games, books, etc. Lots of fun.
Staff were very helpful, almost all of whom speak English. Lack of coffee making facilities in rooms.
It was very convient for the purpose of my stay.
Good location close to the highway and services. Though the bed was made ok and the towels changed, the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned after the last occupant. Overall a fair hotel.
Reception 24/24, the silence of the room, good breakfast Not easy to find the desk crew during the night and early morning
The staff was helpful and upgraded us to the Family apartment since it was available. This was very comfortable for us and especially our children. The onlz possible improvement was the shower, which could not maintain a consistent temperature (either too hot or too cold).
I liked the comfort, the room was fairly big and it had a very nice view. The hotel is next to the train station, but still, it is very quiet.
Close to Siegburg ICE station, good restaurant and friendly staff. Excellent value. Pillows far too soft - a common problem in Germany!
Very friendly staff, very central location, very soundproof windows. The hotel is located right in the city center. If you have a front facing room and have the windows open, you wil hear people (but no traffic, this is a pedestrian area). The windows are very soundproof, though, and if you close them you cannot hear the street.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Even the owner came to my breakfast table the 3rd day there to greet me. The location is the best for me, as it's directly across from the train station. Normally hotels close to the station aren't that well-kept, but all the rooms and the premises are very nice and new. They had quite a bit of trouble with their computer systems, including the WiFi service, but they put every effort into getting this fixed, and it was fine by the time I left.
very quiet despite being very close to station, very comfortable room and bed.
Proximity to train since we chose the hotel specically to say travel to Koln. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. Well-run and clean hotel.
Very quiet place, good food, clean. Nice location. The room was in a different building.
- friendly staff, surrounding city, cleanliness, strength of shower - dinner food was reasonable (quality) but could be better: more quality, less quantity
good restaurant, perhaps a little off the beaten track and a little dated in the room, but all more than adequate.
Attentiveness of the staff. They were always keen to please and they helped us out with bus and train timetables. I wpuld have liked to have stayed within the hotel. We were in the annexe, but I think that was because we needed 3 single rooms.
Relaxing after a hard days work in Cologne
Excellent value in a beautiful village setting. Local produce and friendly welcome.Good sized well equipped rooms.Would have liked to stay longer. Directions were a bit difficult as it is Blankenburg, the old hill town not Hennef itself.
The location at the top of a hill in a small quaint village with no shops and great views. You would need a car as it is in a remote area. Pillows as in all German hotels pillows too soft
Good food and breakfast, nice staff
