Location, near bus and rail links.Excellent buffet breakfast.Clean, tidy and good size rooms.Friendly and helpful staff. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Good location in front of train/bus station. Very close to supermarket and city centre. Friendly and helpful staffs. Breakfast did not match the price.
The food was great and the room quite large. Communication in English was limited to the receptionist at the hotel. The rest of the staff could not communicate well in English.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. All spoke excellent English. The hotel is very quiet and centrally located directly opposite the Almeria train station. The room was a good size with attractive, modern decor and very comfortable beds. Although the hotel seems to have been recently updated, our room was showing signs of wear. Our bathroom sink was cracked, some of the furniture was scratched or dented, and one framed picture had dislodged from the matte and and fallen to the bottom of the frame!

Good hotel and a very enjoyable stay where the staff were very good and most helpful.
The hotel was very convenient for the Station which is what we wanted. The Reception staff were excellent, and the rooms and lounge areas very stylish. I felt the tolietries offered were very basic and also the "free coffee" before 7.00 a.m. appeared to stop a little earlier.
Good central location, pleasant staff whose language skills made our stay easier.
Clean - quiet - space - well loctated within walking distance from center Not even light in the room - it is in many hotels - the only place where you really have light in the bathroom !!!
Courteous staff. Bright and airy reception area. Beautiful room with really comfortable beds and great bathroom. Nothing, it was really excellent.
Very quiet & relaxing. Did not have Tea/Coffee facility in rooms.
This hotel is mainly for Spanish residents, but the staff are very friendly towards foreigners. Very comfortable and in a good situation, on the edge of the sea! We will always stay here when visiting this area.
Friendly staff. Shabby and not much worked in the bedroom - (hairdryer, aircon poor) and the shower was lousy
This has been my third stay at Don Angel and everything was excellent as usual.
Clkoseness to beach and the pool. Breakfast was good. Internet access was not available. Pool opening hours (10:00 to 20:00) were too short for August.
Front line with seawievs, best possible location, walking disstance to nice restaurants and shops. Pretty pool area almost on the beach. Friendly staff, very goog place with children. Breakfast ends at 10.00, too early for me in Sunday morning..
Coffee on the terrace This is a very "spanish" hotel. It was not obvious that the reception and other key staff spoke any english. This was not a problem for me - I speak spanish - but might be for non-spanish speakers. TV channels all spanish.
views from the room breakfast and dinner
Clean, comfortable hotel right on the beach, although a little far from nightlife
the hotel is in a great location, just in the city center and a short walk from restautrants, bars, and shops The only thing missing is a parking lot big enough for all the clients, we had to pay our own parking at the near pubblic garage
very helpfull, especially the reception staff
Central location, secure parking available at 10 euros per night.
Central location close to all facilities. Spacious room with plenty of storage space. Lively bar/cafeteria on premises. The hotel is located in a small square and any sounds outside tend to be amplified. This meant that the room was sometimes very noisy in the early hours, unless you kept the window shut all the time.
Location Very Noisy young guests on the same floor.
Very helpful staff. The hotel car park was invaluable. You need a sat nav to navigate the locate the hotel in the maze of narrow one way streets.
free wi-fi in around the lobby area; great location and only a 10/15 walk to the beach
Cheap rooms and good location in the heart of the city, close to shopping and some restaurants. Nothing memorable, but decent choice to spend a night. Rooms seemed a bit "worn" and not as clean as they could be. Bathroom fixtures leaked.
The location was convenient to the old town.
Parking in premises. Minibar free (ie included) The hotel floors are a labyrinth and the walls are paper-thin. Gym machines are old and many are broken. Expensive
location,style, staff and price
It was very easy to find, in a central location. The staff were efficient and friendly, providing us with information, maps etc All aspects of our stay at the hotel were fine
Feria, bullfights, drinks at the kiosco,Asador restaurant, staff helpful
The swimming pool was not clean on certain days.
Nice and confortable hotel. There is no internet in the room as stated in the description. The hotel management deliberately puts incorrect information in the description. That's mad!
The room was quiet, the bathroom large, the shower powerful and the dozens of tapas bars and restaurants in the narrow side streets around the hotel. Just a short 15 minute walk from Alcazaba. Driving and parking in Almeria is a nightmare, take a taxi from the airport. The hotel's map is unreadable, get one from the tourist office. We chose this hotel for the pool but it was closed for the winter.
Good location. Clean room. Good bathroom. Swimming pool was closed (season?). Breakfast mediocre ((cold coffee).
good quality for the price and a great breakfast Pool was a little dirty and for the business user with an early flight a little noisy at night
good location with gate right onto the promenade/beach. We walked out of the gate the following morning and followed the coast into the natural park. food was dull and hotel could have been anywhere in the world. Fine if you just want the all inclusive package holiday experience. Not much of a beach though.
A confort hotel with a nice room. Thisis a hotel for families with small children. It's noisy and in my opinion the food and services is of a 3 star hotel. Watchout for your towels at the pool ad they tend to get stolen due to the price the hotel charge for them. Air conditioner at room didn't work between 12am and 8am and the hotel staff told me it was normal due to the fact that at this time all rooms had their ac on! Unbelievable!!
Situated in a newly created village, this hotel offers plenty of space for its guests. The rooms are large, luxury and clean; the staff is friendly and always tries to listen to you. The restaurant is open from 8:00 until 10:30h for breakfast, and from 20:00 until 22:30h foor dinner. The garden is large, there are no less than 4 swimming pools. The hotel is only separated by a park from the beach. Additional services (Spa!) are available. Furthermore the hotel is ideally situated for trips to the varied countryside. There is plenty of space to park your car. If you are with a rental-car, you will be happy. If you can't make it at 20:00h, chances are your dinner will not be so good. The food is served buffet-style, sometimes cooked an hour ago and therefore old, dry or simply not warm. In other words, the staff at the restaurant needs better timing and insight in guests' needs. Nobody used the underground garage to park his car - it is way overpriced.
Staff very friendly..food reasonable...location peaceful.as it was a special birthday celebration the hotel send a bottle of cava to the room which was a very nice gesture. The room was disappointing and nowhere near as nice as portrayed in the photos..it is in need of updating as the decor and furniture are shabby.the location is a good distance from any other bars etc and the price of drinks in this hotel is ridiculous..one bottle of water 3.50 euros.
The resort was beautiful and the 3 swimming pools were fantastic. Great kids activities with staff who were lots of fun. The food was very good too. The guest rooms were large with balconies overlooking the pools and beach. We enjoyed the spa as well. We were disappointed with the beach area so stayed at the pools the whole time. Unfortunately, our son got bed bugs from sleeping on the pull-out sofa bed. The hotel immediately changed our room.
Good food , very good vlue for money
Beautiful hotel, lovely food. Hydrotherapy pool unsuitable for 9 year old and 5 year old. No table tennis balls, had to buy our own. Paddle tennis cost 6 euros per shot. No bicycles suitable for 5 year old.
friendliness and helpfulness of staff. clean, well planned and eco friendly
Very relaxing place, not much going on. You can really get away from it all -perfect! Restaurant food/ breakfast/dinner just ok, should be better. Food ordered in the bar/ room service cold, microwaved (burger/pizza), embarrassing to eat or complain!
The room was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. A little bit out of the centre.
New hotel with clean rooms and modern finishes. Views of the mountains surrounding Almeria. Across the street from Mediterraneo Centro Comercial mall. Hotel is far from the city center. Parking in hotel garage is expensive add-on.
Staff were very helpful, rooms were lovely and very spacious. Not much public transport near the hotel. Had to use taxis alot of the time-though they were only a 5-10 mins ride to most places.
Damp / smelly room.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Parking facilities were excellent, being attached to the hotel by elevators. Bar prices were rather expensive.
The friendly staff, particularly the young lady in the bar/resturant
The reception staff was really helpfull and nice, specially the man at our arrival in the night, always smiling!
Good value , clean and smart. Quiet location for a single night stop over. Would stay again. No much English spken so phrase book came in useful. A little too far away from main areas.
service and cleanliness excellent The hotel sign on approach could be much clearer passed twice only spotted on coming up the main road
New comfortable hotel, lots of free public parking around, but you have to unload your luggage while being double parked on an intersection. Big mall nearby with food court. Extremely polite receptionist. Easy to find hotel by car (lots of signs and on big road) but not very near centre. Good hotel when you're by car. Excellent price/quality ratio. Not near centre, but by car only 10 minutes. No pool.
Most things I thought food in room service was poor.A fancy omelette was just eggs and nothing else. There was also no decaffinated coffee packets available
quiet, clean, excellent staff, gourmet dining not walking distance from town centre - however public bus stop nearby
The breakfast was not as good as I was expecting, and the coffee was left in containers getting cold, not in a percolator. i would recommend hotel but not the breakfast
Good clean rooms and excellent location. Food menu not in English and no English speaking waiters
Nice, clean room, modern throughout, wifi connection Bit noisy in the morning (traffic)
15 minute drive to airport, easy walk to city centre, quiet rooms, polite & helpful staff
Nice room, quiet and clean. Easy to park. nothing
Very poor breakfast for a 4 star hotel. One night we had dinner and the staff didn't know if we had to pay it or not.In my opipnion it is not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and they have to train better their staff.
The hotel is wonderfully situated, right on the beach and is quiet. The common parts are fine. The room was spacious. The fittings in the bathroom were worn out especially the seals on the shower screen which were rusty. The shower head had been replaced badly could not be used in its wall holder at all. The terrace was shared with 5 other rooms(and that was not mentioned at all on the website) and one of the token 'screens' used to separate the terrace area in front of each room (only 1 metre wide) was missing on one side. As it is the end of the season half the wine list wasn't available. The room was too hot mostly due to the fridge overheating in its casing.Unless the bathrooms are revamped, I cannot see how it can continue to be a 4 star.
Beautiful views, great location. Small cozy property but completely lovely. Staff efficient but not overly friendly
Great position overlooking the beach and bay. Boutique type of place ,very different from package hotels and in a pleasant small town A/C not working and food in restaurant not really as good as expected
We had a balcony overlooking the sea. It was great. The staff was very helpful, the food was great, especially the breakfasts, and all in all we found the hotel to be very charming and luxurious. Even though the booking.com said no parking, we found a parking right in front of the hotel. Very nice and easy. We loved it and hope to come back. Nothing was wrong. However we stayed there a little off-season, and I think the whole place can be more crowded during the high seasons because the village itself was also very nice.
We're a couple in 30's that stayed for 6 nights. The place is amazing with beautiful views over the med. Great location a short walk to the centre but far enough away from what little noise there is from the bars, restaurants, etc. Although always friendly and helpful when found, a severe lack of staff and the fact that a part from at breakfast there was literally only one person on duty at any one time for a hotel with 80 people capacity (that was full on a coupe of nights during our stay). No staff available after 23:00 'til morning. So could not get a drink and end a romantic evening out on the terrace at night at the hotel (on the practically private beach), -what i'd normally expect from any self- respecting 4 star place.
It was nice and good no
Room was large and bright. Terrace overlooking the beach was wonderful.
Like last time we were here one year ago, we loved everything about the place, especially the location. I recommend that you pay the extra money to have a seaview balcony. It doesn't get any better. It is a beautiful, little gem of a hotel. Gracias!
Beautiful location overlooking the Mediterranean on a lovely beach. Great views everywhere, including dining room and common areas. Spacious rooms, clean and well-appointed. Marble floors throughout. Ceramic and glass artwork accents. Very good breakfast buffet. Two items, very minor: (1) The staff, while compentent and cheerful, seemed spread a bit thin. The man at reception was also serving breakfast coffee, which made checkouts a bit of a scramble for him. No staff available from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. (2) The terraced rooms actually share one large common terrace, divided by ropes.
Small hotel with a nice view. However, for the rest nothing spectacular. Overpriced
This is a ultra-modern hotel with very friendly staff and lots of open spaces. It is only 10 minutes walk to the centre of the beattiful Las Negros Villages which has a fantastic setting and a few good bars and seafood restaurants. It is an idylic place to visit and the hotel is in a convenient but quiet location. The hotel is almost impossible to find because it is not in the centre with the other hotels and there are no signs anywhere and no obvious street names. We had to ask 3 times. On entering Las Negros you come to a large roundabout. Take the 1st exit, up a slight hill and the hotel is 300m on the right at the north end of the village.
The service was excellent, the location was great (free street parking) and breakfast timetable was extensive so we could sleep in. Breakfast quality was fantastic. I recommend the spa facilities.
Great location. Very nice staff. Wonderful room view. Hard to find as no signs in town.
The location was excellent. I did not use any of the facilities. The TV channels were all in Spanish. The room was quite warm and stuffy, even though I turned the air conditioning down to 16 degrees, It made no difference to the temperature. The bed seemed to have plastic sheeting beneath the sheets which was quite sweaty and uncomfortable.
excellant staff - location of hotel no
a kettle and drinks making facility would have been nice. Air conditioning was noisy. fortunately weather not too hot but vibration did come through from other roooms when their ac on.
Very centre-located although not easy to find free parking around. Free internet access at lobby (we did not use wifi-service) and friendly staff. We requested an extra bed for the child and to our surprise it is very comfortable!! Mini-bar is locked in the room.
near the city, bar, parking in front of the hotel (10 euros all day.)
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with advise on parking and where to go. The location was ideal for us visiting for the Extreme 40 Catamaran Race which was walking distance to the harbour.
excellent location and very good hotel ,staff very helpful, would us again
excellent location, very helpful staff, good prices even in the hotel's sbar/restaurant the air conditioning in certain rooms is right in front of the bed
Helpfulness of staff and cleanliness of facilities.
The jacuzzi on the roof was nice. Very interesting building. No
everything, excellent hotel , staff couldn't recommend it more.
very central but very noisey The room was very noisey no view just a brick wall over the kitchens. For a 4 * hotel not good.Towels were very old with holes in them.
Very nice ambiance at the hotel and locality Sound of locals riding motor scooters at night and grafitti in sourounding area
The location was good and central in the square beside the Catedral with many bars and restaurants within a few minutes walking. Nice small hotel with friendly staff. Free internet in the rooms was a bonus if required. Spacious modern bedrooms with extra big double beds. Parking was expensive and the parking lot was very tight to get in and out of. The Catedral bell could be a little noisy although we never heard it at night whilst sleeping.
internet in my room with staff who would come to room to explain how to turn it on (used through television) no
The staff were very cosiderate and thoughtful
Extremely clean, calm and pleasant hotel, staff were helpful and informative but not intrusive. Situation of the hotel is superb if visiting Almeria.
Location, ambient, fittings & design, staff and food No but it was a pity about the staining on the floors
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent , as was the food.
Good selection at breakfast Room very clean but tissues, shower gel, shampoo not replaced when they ran out
Fiston a particulièrement aimé les jouets que l'hotel avait mis a sa disposition
Rooms were clean and well stocked with all amenities. Parking under the hotel was handy, staff very pleasent, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was OK, although the cooked element looked a little under cooked! Sound proofing in the rooms was terrible.
The quality of the room for the price
the location & price...ease of parking staff did not speak english
staff very nice and helpful food could be better
The hotel was "on-spec"; gave us what we expected, with especially good staff. We liked the hotel
Excellent space for a family of four. Very clean and the gifts for the children a very nice touch. Would use Tryp hotels again.
Friendliness of staff, large double bed
Our room was very clean and it had all we needed. The location wasn't too bad as it was easily reach by bus or even by walk. There is a shop next to the hotel and a car park. Everything was fine.
Lovely hotel.....great surroundings, very pleasant staff.
The setting is beautiful, close enough to walk to San Jose and a very short drive to some magnificent beaches. The hotel is incredibly quiet, and has lots of rural charm. The food is so-so (pretty plain, nice at times but often quite boring, and not a great variety - we were even offered the same dish two days in a row). The service is ok, but a couple of things in our room weren't working properly (reading light, door to thye terrace) and it took them several days to fix them.
Style. Comfort. Great food. Wireless internet did not work in the room. Just not strong enough. Did work in the lobby.
The food was excellent and a good base to explore the area
Excellent suite with massive bed and even bigger shower! Fantastic, authentic lounge, bar and games room.
A good hotel in a great area of Spain. I would not hesitate to visit this hotel again.
We loved the location. We delibrately chose this location over the seaside because we liked to have the nature right in our backyard (was awesome to watch the stars on a dark and quiet night) . The beach and town were only about 1.25km away, hence it was easily accessible. The hotel and our room were quiet and spacious. The walk-in shower and private terrace were good surprises. We took the half-board option and was perfect as we were so tired after a full-day of activities, and glad not had to go away to find dinner. The hotel had a pool, ping-pong, snooker and stable, hence perfect for a family vacation. We only had 2 small bottles of water in the mini-bar, some juice or beer would be nice. The TV was so small (actually a PC screen), and was not fun to watch the World Cup with it.
swimming pool, room was spacious and very clean Wifi not available in the room, not english speaking staff, archery and many other activities were not available although they were mentionned on hotel´s website
The surroundings were absolutely stunning! The layout of the hotel was excellent and provided maximum privacy. The room was beautiful and very spacious, and the little terrace a lovely extra. No, nothing at all.
I booked my stay here because the original building was used as a location for Sergio Leone's western movie 'a Fistful of Dollars'. I was pleased to find this piece of movie history had been turned into a first class hotel !
nice choice swiming pools, entertainment was excellent, food was good it got very busy at the week end which made the stay a bit uncomfortable as they did not seem to have extra staff to cater for the increased numbers
Very bad. Air condition not worked properly in hot weather.
entertainment, excellent swimming pools Spa was poor standard and not included which was never on the booking site!!!
Location and access to the beach
