location and friendly staff Restaurant too expensive for the food served.
Wonderful facility, beautiful grounds, large rooms, large marble bathroom, very fine dining room, beautiful decor, free parking, great comfortable beds. No internet in the room
The restaurant and bar staff was outstanding!
Le restaurant de l'hotel était super (bel ambiance, bon, ..) Je le recommande.
Sitting on the balcony was lovely, there was no view as such but we were not overlooked and a little brook ran past the room. The 1/2 pension was extremely good value because the food was superb and there was a good selection. Nothing, some may say it's out in the middle of nowhere but it you are travelling by car then it's a perfect little stop off place to relax.
The rooms were very spacious and price was great. There was free parking. The hotel was very easy to get to. Location was farther from town then expected - about a 20 euro cab ride. Breakfast buffet was poor.
Room with view on sea ... only with binoculars
Clean, well situated for access to Tarifa, Gibralter, Cadiz... Meals were not inexpensive but they were good quality. Great value for money A minor concern was its location on a busy hwy at a curve in the road.
Eating fabulous food in comfortable dining room smokers allowed or not controlled in dining area
The rooms were spacious and clean. New towels everyday. There was limited parking which was fine in the evening. However, one day there was no parking so had to double park. The reason for limited parking could possibly be explained by it being a Spanish holiday and there being a number of families have come out to the hotel for the restaurant.
The beautiful setting. I felt the restaurant was just OK. The prices were a bit high for the quality of the food. The food was not BAD, just a little more than I thought it was worth.
The hotel has an excellent layout and great location. Good breakfast, fair restaurant and nice bar. In total the hotal is a recommendable experience. 1) All bungalows and rooms should have a refridgerator, considering the prices. 2) Their pet policy should be revised. There are simply too many dogs! 3) Parking for guests was often obstructed by cars of day-visiting surfers. 4) My fear is that maintenance is slipping, and that the hotel slowly will degrade from the excellent condition it had three years ago, on our first visit.
Helpful and friendly staff that even helped to cancel our remaining stay. The comfort and cleanliness of the room did not match our expectations.
The laid back attitude of the place, combined with excellent facilities. A place to rest and meditate or to be active. Several of the appartments have a strong odor caused by the humid conditions, and I had to change appartment several times.
Possibly my favorite Hotel in the World
location no double bed
The hotel site was breathtakingly beautiful. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Staff spoke English very well. Staff was helpful with restaurant & other recommendations. We would definitely be return guests.
When we did order food, it was very good. We were disturbed by the staff's lack of courtesy. We felt as if we were an "inconvenience" to the bar/restaurant staff, as well as when checking in. However, we did receive excellent and pleasant assistance when checking out.
That you have your own bungalow with sea view, and the breakfast was great! Everthing is a little bit old, if they would repair and replace some things it could be a great hotel!
Liked that you could just step out of your room and be on the beach, also the views were amazing and felt chilled by then end of our stay, this is the third time we have stayed at Dos Mares The only thing that lets Dos Mares down is that there food & drinks are to expensive, reflecting that the other hotels on this stretch of beach are alot lower and far far better food!! Most of the time we went else were to eat and drink, which is a same as its such a lovely hotel
The hotel was a very good place to stay. It was very clean , the staff were very friendly. We would recommend it to our friends.
I love the small village feel of Trifia and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I love the feel of the hotel. It is one of my favorite ones in Spain. Nothing! I liked everything!
Location, charm. Breakfast not great.
Very welcoming, the room clean and tidy with air conditioning that worked. The food in the restauant was excellent and the breakfast was the best value for money we had on our trip.
Location. We had a car and didn't have to worry about parking. Close to ferry to Tangier. Very basic. No light to read in bedroom. Nowhere to sit. Flies on breakfast buffet.
Clean room with air conditioning. Good food, excellent breakfast buffet. Receptionist did not speak any English (but found a colleague who did)
Hotel and rooms were nice and clean and the staff were all very friendly + the food was of a fairly good standard. The lounge and bar facility were very limited.
Location, Atmosphere, Breakfast, restaurant (when it was open!) That the restaurant seemed to close unexpectedly some evenings.
We stayed two nights at Hotel Le Torre and enjoyed our stay immensely. The hotel is stylish, thoughtfully designed, has nice rooms and lovely grounds. We paid EC 65 per night in mid-September for a nice double with a great breakfast. We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights had two terrific meals. As in most Spanish hotel and restaurants, the staff were aloof and spoke little English -- exept for one Italian waitress who was both charming and fluent in four languages, including English. What a delight!
I couldnt fault this place in anyway, shape or form, the staff were unbelievably friendly, the food was great, the location excellent as were the rooms quite simply the best hotel I have stayed in Spain so far. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel at all.
how clean and quiet everything was and the staff very attentive and helpful
The room was nice and the view good The resteraunt was very poor with the meal served cold and raw despite our requests for it to be well done.
Cute, quiet hotel. Bed wasn't the best.
Excellent location in a wonderful town! Tarifa was my favorite town in all of Costa Del Sol. This is an adorable small hotel in the heart of all the bars and restaurants. A quick walk will find you at the beach too. I don't believe there was air conditioning but since the town is coastal this didn't seem to be a problem. There is no elevator so be prepared to tote your luggage up the stairs.
Location was perfect for our needs and the room we had in the garden was also perfect. As we were room only it allowed us to have breakfast outside everyday on our own private terrace. The pool area was also very good. Will use again. Restaurant staff were not very amenable and did not speak much if any English, but the food was acceptable.
I had a bungalow-style room facing a lovely garden ---nice setting, lovely roses, palms and orange trees, and pool close by. Very good secured parking. Wonderful to have refrigerator in room. Breakfast was typical of Spain, but it was marginal at best. Food was not presented in an inviting way -- just set out. The morning wait staff was not cheerful or friendly. Coffee was not readily available as in most self-serve situations -- one cup only. The dining area was dimly lit and the decorations of stuffed animals (bull head and deer head) and bull fights did not aid a pleasant ambience. Personally, I would have preferred breakfast on my little terrace.
Staff, food in restaurant excellent, Tarifa is great Distance from town meant we had to catch taxis in and out if we wanted to visit at night without having to drive (taxis not plentiful and expensive), also hotel was across a very busy road from the beach so it isn't a beach-front location
Price of the room was really good. Hotel is located close to the beach.
Nice swimming pool, 130m to the beach and 3Km to Tarifa. Wireless internet has no reach to rooms
noise from the road right in front, did not sleep well a single night
The staff were very helpful. It was ideally situated for our onward journey to Gibraltar.
3 stars is too much. The price is also excessive.
Friendly staff with good food, other than breakfast - see below. The bungalow rooms at the back of the hotel are well laid out. The best value hotel we have found near Tarifa. Breakfast options were rather limited. The hotle looks onto a busy main road so a room at the back is essential for peace and quiet.
Beach Pool was closed for the season ?? Nothing around except beach.
Lovely Garden setting very relaxing despite proximity to main road. Staff very friendly and close to the beach. Restaurant was also fantastic. Quite far away from tarifa town but very close to the best beach.
Very nice, and relaxing environment, the green garden with the little pool combined with the arabish elements is like contrapoints to the natural seashore. Most of the building is made with handycraft elements, but it makes a unique appearance.
The staff was very helpful and the place was absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was excellent as well. I was sad that the restaurant was not open for lunch (only dinner), because I loved the food!!
territory design small rooms
The location was superb for our transfer to Morocco by ferry. The staff were very obliging and the rooms was very clean and comfortable.
Its bathroom with shower was the largest in all hotels we stayed in Spain; we did not have to be worried to turn around in the shower and hit the tap like in other hotels. I loved it. Otherwise simple and comfortable rooms.
Good value for money, clean, good bathroom facilities, nice terrace (we asked for a balcony, instead we got a huge roof terrace, which was great), a/c
well located apart from the cockroach, it was fine.
Simple, comfortable room with good bathroom and good location. Open 24hours
clean and helpfull staff no room service
This place is central in Tarifa and all you have to do is walk out and there are life around you. Also close to the beach in Tarifa. Ideal for people that want sun and sea. From this place you can take day trips to places around all the way up to Sevilla or Gibraltar. The bad thing about this place is that it could be noicy around sometimes. This because of the life in the streets around in the evening and into the night. Hard to sleep sometimes because people staying at this place come and goes to different times, also in the night slamming doors. Also drunken young people staying there makes it hard to sleep for people that need a good night sleep.
Comfortable and big room and bathroom. a very good location Walls as papper, we couldn sleep the whole night hearing the noise from outside as the hostel is situated on the popular square.
Very nice room and bathroom too. At middle of most interesting areas of Tarifa: Tarifa beach is about 10 min of walk and the storical city centre is behind the hotel. Placed in a good position. I'd like to find the breakfast included in the fee.
The hotel was close to the beach and restaurants. I didn't find the hotel all that clean. There was sand all over the floor, which is understandable in a beach hotel. However, it really could have been cleaned up more. Also, there was sand on the sheets in the bed.
The location is great and the hotel itself is quite nice. The staff however were cold if not somewhat rude. The beds were not particularly comfortable either. Not a bad place for the price though and I spent most of my time at the beach, so it didn't matter that much in the end.
ease of access and proximity to beach reception was marose and hard work
The hotel was extremely badly staffed. The room was dark, smelly and the floor although cleaned felt sticky
The pool area was very nice and the groubds were very nice. Rooms were comfortable. Perhaps this is common in Spain, but we were charged for our 'plates' with our meals.
Stayed in Apartment 5 which was clean and tidy and quiet with a nice terrace and garden looking out towards the ocean. Reasonably clean but very basic, good location but you probably need a car. The owners have a very cute dog and also a cat so if you are not an animal lover be aware. Pool very relaxed and great temperature. It was annoying having to turn on the gas to have hot water - not sure if they have any gas leak detectors either but we slept with the door to kitchen closed.
Hotel location, landscape view and swimming pool. Hotel staff don't speak English. Although the hotel seemed empty we got a room on the back side, when we asked for a different room they claimed the hotel is full. The breakfast is very basic.
Nice room with view of the ocean, clean, the whole place had a family-run atmosphere.
We really enjoyed the great position of the hotel between Tarifa and Bolonia, the position of the room, the trees and the green area around the hotel, the fantastic and romantic view to the seaside, the swimming pool... The Dulce Nombre was like a small "Paradise" to us... The majority of the staff had been a little bit rude, inpolite and not smiling at all, but we didn't understand why. One of them was very nice by the way. Furthermore, there were some little small things about the cleaning of the hotel that hadn't been satisfactory: we found mould on the bread at breakfast, leaves in our room's floor when we arrived and there weren't big comfortable paper tissues on the tables at breakfast...
The pool area was very nice, clean, calm and sheltered. The restaurants around the hotel were really good and there is a beachvolley area/bar very close which was a nice chill-out. The beach (around 5 min walk) is also very nice, especially if your Kite-surfing or wind-surfing. By the beach there was a lunch restaurant which served a really good buffet with plates big enough to share between two persons. The staff were sometimes really rude and didn't give you a welcoming feeling at all. They didn't speak english at all and did not provide any useful information about the area. It costs too much considering what you get and the rooms are standard, clean and quite large but the beds were not comfortable at all. No safetybox in the room. Breakfast is not included and one has to pay 5 euros for two toasts, coffee and a glass of juice. The hotel is a taxi ride away from Tarifa center and costs around 12 euros one way, so if you are heading for Tarifa it might be a good idea to reconsider another hotel. Though, if you are only interested in the beach close by or have a car, it's an ok hotel.
