9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food was great. Staff very friendly. Hiking options in the neighbourhood. Nice pool.
Cons: Amount of beds in the pool area, but they told us that they are working on that.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A surprising find in the back country. An exceptional place with a concept behind. Embraced by nature and built with utmost respect for local architerctural traditions and culture, the establishment is characterised by staff motivated by the love for their work and their guests. Apart from comfortable accomodation, guests can find a restaurant with fantastic atmosphere and great charcoal grilled food, astronomical programs, mycological programs, and many more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding views and facilities. Excellent value
Cons: Can’t recommend this enough no room for improvement
7.1 Good
Pros: Fantastic location. The room/apartment was nice and very clean. Staff were very friendly and spoke good English.
Cons: As I was the only guest, they wouldn't open the restaurant and I had to eat either meatballs which I had to heat up myself or salad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peace and quiet
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very relaxing and enjoyable 2 week stay at Posada del Candil. The accommodation was comfortable and suitably equipped for our needs. There were several private balconies available to our apartment with breathtaking views of the mountains of the Almazoran valley. Breakfast was provided and very enjoyable and plentiful. We had several evening meals in the restaurant which were excellent quality with home grown organic vegetable and salads and locally sourced meat. The meals were reasonably priced and service was excellent. We loved the local area and particularly the local walks around Seron as well as in the local mountains. The local shops were great for provisions and there were weekly markets in Seron and nearby Tijola. The swimming pool was great for a dip to cool down and was very private and quiet. It was extremely clean and well maintained. It was lovely swimming or just reading by the pool while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Seron is generally a quiet scenic town away from the tourist areas around Almeria which suited us well. We enjoyed trips to the Alhambra in Granada approx 1.5 hours drive away as well as Nijar, Tabernas desert and the Cabo de Gata coast. Our hosts Javier, Marianno and Asier were very kind and accommodating and ensured all our needs were met. We plan to visit again and happily recommend Posada del Candil to other visitors.
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is absolutely fantastic if you like it rural. So very, very quiet. Ideal if you just want to get away. We were there mid week in April and so it was not very busy. The views are stunning. If you go in the winter you will need some warmer clothes as it is very high in the mountains. If you are not "sure of foot" you will need to request a downstairs bedroom as the stairs in the apartments are space saving and if you need to visit the bathroom in the night they are a little precarious for the "older generation". There are lots of little pueblos around and about and you will always find somewhere to eat. If you have time you MUST visit Cortijo Búho in Benamaurel (50 mins drive away). Awesome experience but you must book.
Cons: The beds were a little harder than we are used to but that is purely subjective. If you want to eat at the premises YOU MUST BOOK. When we got up on the first morning we thought we would have breakfast in the restaurant but we were the only people - literally - in the place. No staff, no other visitors. Bring a kettle if you can - nothing like that in the small kitchen. A car is a must. If you do not like windy roads the entrance and approach is a little hairy. There is no maid service and so for the 4 days we were there we looked after ourselves and were not disturbed in any way. We paid 300 euros for the 4 nights and were a little surprised that that was purely for the accommodation and no maid service.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location of the property was fantastic, perfect for a quiet getaway to totally relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. The on site restaurant provided an excellent rustic and cosy ambiance to enjoy the lunches and dinners all cooked to order - the meats were particular delicious cooked on the open wood firepit. The two bed villa was well proportioned with comfortable beds and a kitchenette with adequate facilities for our short stay. A good selection of breakfast items were offered including local or on site produce.
Cons: The open plan skeleton stairs were difficult for our old dog to use and we would probably have been better suited, in this respect, to stay in one of the apartments offered by the property.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, close to town, and about 10 miles to lakes. Very clean. Plenty outside free parking, had a fridge in hall if needed. Was recommended to go to meson abuelo a 10min walk away, drinks tubo 1.60e but got large free tapa with it first day got some large prawns second day got a large pork and tomato roll, well worth it, tinto verano 1.60 and two fried egg chips and fillet chicken and bread 8e or ribs and eggs and chips 8e, salad 7e, we had plenty food to eat. Would go again. Though shame hotel restaurant was closed.
Cons: The room was very small, and bathroom, I am slim, would be difficult for large person. Stayed here because had parking and restaurant on site, but restaurant was closed from 1st to 8th August so not ideal as had 85 year old mother that had difficulty in walk far to other restaurant so did without breakfast. But if young plenty places to eat.
