Not a dislike but feel tea making facillities would be good also evening meals less costly as we could get a meal for two for the price of one in the hotel
Location Bed v hard, tobacco stench in rooms, risky parking, breakfast not too good. Wifi not working. A disappointing Parador.
Genearlly I like the older converted buildings which is normally associated with the Paradors but this hotel was fine with the usual high standard of service and presentation one expects from this chain.
Loved the location and the view over the bay and resort. The reception on checking in when we were warmly greeted and given a room with a great view. All six scores ranked Excellent above should Very Good at least but as there is no such box to tick they got Excellent. Excellent is perfection and only rarely merited by any aspect of any organisation. We hope to return next Spring. 08.00 start for breakfast is a little later than one would expect, 07.30 would be better.
The location is perfect and the views are wonderful. Lovely pool. Dining out on the parador's terrass is lovely but the food is nothing special.
Very convenient location, close to shops and beach. The Hotel was clean and staff helpful. The large comfortable lounge was also a smoking area so this was not good for those who find the smell unpleasant.
Staff realised one of our family celebrated 88 yrs. Sent tray fruit and presents to her room. Excellent
Great location and views of the beach Pool not available in October - Not much there for children
Great location, lovely gardens. Nice rooms. Breakfast and lunch were good. Service when dining wasn't very good. Also the evening menu didnt change during our stay.
room, view, gardens. Nice place to stay
Good quality interior
Beautiful hotel. Lovely furnishings with excellent attention to detail. Very relaxing surroundings. Highly recommend.
The staff, as always, were very helpful and attentive. The pool area is very attractive and poolside snacks are affordable. Since our last stay in June 2010 the staff have remained as friendly and helpful as ever but the management seems to have taken its eye off the ball a little. Equipment malfunctions (2) and loose tiles immediately above a bath should not occur in a superior room at these prices. Thanks to the resourcefulness of the staff at reception, our stay was not spoiled.
Good position, clean and well presented. Lovely pool area and rooms overlooking the pool were well placed Staffing a little eratic ... sometimes seemed like Faulty Towers eg Christmas Carol tape played at breakfast
Very professional staff, excellent service and very good food
This hotel tried very hard to make the stay relaxing. The standard of hygiene throughout the hotel was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is now easy to find as it is well signposted when reaching Moraira. Check in was a little tortuous as the room was not ready until 4pm, but we were provided with free drinks whilst we waited and they were flexible when we wanted to stay on a little longer on the last day.
Very quiet, very modern. Nice room. We only ate there one evening but the food was excellent. We were too late for breakfast one morning so the manager brought us a plate of fruit, bread and cheese...marvellous! Picky I know but it would be good to have heated mirrors to clear steam after showering but it shows how nice it was if that's all I have to grumble about!
The recently completed refurbishment of this hotel has made it quite delightfully pleasant. I really can't think of anything worthy of complaint!
Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. n/a
The hotel was the only one in Javea with an indoor pool. We disliked very much that pets are allowed, mainly for hygienic reasons but also because of barking dogs during the night (with the typical low noise insulation in spanish buildings). We, therefore, will not return tom this hotel.
The staff were excellent, the food was good, except the breakfast which I considered poor. Service here a bit slow. The room was very good.
Peace and tranquillity Although ultimately helpful, receptions staff were a little brusque. Little info in the room detailing the hotel layout, meal times etc.
The staff in all areas coulnd`nt be more helpful, the suite was lovely and an excellent upgrade from the double room
relaxing, peaceful, no english channels on tv.
Service and beauty of the property
leisurely breakfasts and spa facilities
The room was excellent, the beds very comfortable, nice terrace, nice view. Very quiet. No wine in fridge. We asked to buy 1/2 bottle of red and got 1 bottle of white wine. Mistake also made in room service order. Management very offhand. Internet very expensive.
We liked the location on the best side of Javea with good views to the coast and to Montgo Mountain. We liked the location of the cafe/breakfast room with its balcony and also the location of the pool. The bedrooms are large and air conditioned with a private balcony and luxury en suite bathroom. The rooms are double glazed and have electric shutters for overnight peace and quiet. Nearby barking dogs can be a nuisance. The reception staff spoke good English and were generally helpful though not proactive. The cleaners and handymen were very helpful and friendly. Car parking within the hotel estate is easy and handy for the rooms. There are a lot of stone steps down to the bedroom levels and this can be difficult to negotiate with suitcases etc. It is not a hotel for the disabled. The spa is pricey and not sufficiently promoted to guests either before or during our stay. There is no fitness equipment in the spa. The breakfasts were expensive and very restricted. There was no consistency in the buffet food provided from day to day. The serving staff spoke little English and were completely passive. Guests have to ask for anything that runs out eg milk and also for tea and coffee - nothing is offered. The sun loungers around the pool are of poor quality, uncomfortable, and are not cleaned or maintained. The pool itself is small and not up to the quality of this hotel.
Hotel was excellent, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and professional at all times. Fully recommend this hotel. None.
I had no complants at Hotel Solymar
I have stayed there before so knew the hotel, great location, basic and expensive for what you get, but when we arrived only 1 room booked even though we had booked 2 rooms and had all the paperwork to prove it but this had not been passed on to the hotel.
Clean room, beautiful sea view. Ease of check in particularly as it was unsociable hours. Buffet style continental breakfast- no need to book.
Staff were good and hotel clean Hotel was tired our shower would stay on holder and no pressure
The view from the hotel bedroom. The room itself was very small and old fashioned and the beds were cheap and uncomfortable.
The beautiful view of the sunset ant Mongo from my window in the evening. I think the sink plug holes need a thorough cleaning as I could see black mould when I looked down then and this rolled my stomach. Also at E6 (six Euros) breakfast was very simple --- a bit pricey for what it was.
Overall stay very good. Disappointed with bar facilities.
Hotel is situated right on the sea front - try and get a sea facing view to watch the sun rise. Hotels was very clean. Very close to some excellent beach bars and restaurants. The rooms are very basic and facilities very limited
very friendly family staff, they could not do enough for us, very clean hotel, very god value for money
No tea facilities in room
I found all the staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They let me go about my business but were there when needed. A comfortable hotel.
cheap and convenient very basic but prive reflected this
I enjoyed the stay because of the peaceful and pleasant surroundings. The room was basic but very adequate for my needs. It was very clean and the continental breakfast provided was excellent especially the piping hot coffee and hot milk which make a change form the UK lukwarm variety.
The atmosphere was very friendly, and the staff very helpful, the breakfast was plentiful, and the overall standard was good for the star rating. To be truthful, air-conditioning in the room would have made our stay more pleasurable.
this hotel was for us the perfect location with a good rapport/quality. We just stayed for 1 night, so we were looking for a cheap, clean, quiet room with breakfast (the breakfast was fast and correct). The finishing in the room was poor, but the bathroom and the bed were good. So we were satisfied. No comments.
In-room Wi-fi. Ease of Parking. Good breakfast. Hotel and grounds looked a bit 'tired'.
The hotel staff were fantastic, the room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel was right where we needed to be As we stayed very much out of season the restaurant was closed. The breakfast was plentiful although a little boring, but overall ok
Check in and out good and English spoken. Lack of Air conditioning in rooms - completely unacceptable for Hotels in Spain, especially during hot summer months. Breakfast serving too late for early starts in morning - 08:30hrs!!
very warm reception.excellent value for money.private car-park a real bonus
There's no way this is only a 2 stars hotel It should be 4 star. Great room.
Really nice facilities including a balcony. This town is probably away from most tourists routes and it was so nice to explore a Spanish town at play on a Saturday night. We also enjoyed the hotel's restaurant which was just down the road.
Great Hotel.Good price, modern hotel, friendly staff. All round it was a lovely stay.
