The beauty of the hotel and it´s surroundings The food was only average
I found their breakfast inadequate and expensive in comparison to the other 12 hotels I stayed in during my visit in Spain. The hotel's location is isolated, a bit far out of the small town and so it was very inconvenient in terms of enjoying other restaurants or having a variety of things to do sand see. Their nightly menu is very expensive.
quiet pleasant place
Lovely old building with pleasant courtyard, spacious room with delightful view over lake, and attractive garden in which to relax and dip in the pool.
the beautiful house, the friendly staff
This is a magical place to place to stay. It is so old and has a wonderful atmosphere. The decor and ambience take you back to a different age, but without the discomforts. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. All the staff, were friendly and welcoming and were very helpful. The setting is superb and Arcos itself a lovely town, full of character. Ruth and Doug
Everything. Very friendly staf. Nice rooms. Patio
Beautiful setting, kind reception, big room, guading of our luggage after check-out Advice on place to eat at night was not up to standard
Helpful staff. Good location. Good breakfast buffet.
Location of the hotel
Very well situated, near to the old town. Free private parking. The staff was extremely helpful, congratulations. Breakfast very good, both continental and meat/cheese.
I loved the hotel! It was perfectly situated, my room was comfortable and spotless with the view that I had requested. It was located very near to all I wanted to see, and had parking just a few doors from the hotel. Couldn't have asked for better.
Centrally located, easy walk to most areas. Would like clear directions to quality dinner. Need place to put two pieces of luggage so bending to floor not necessary.
good price, parking inside forniture and services very poor, not very close to the centre
Beautiful building, superb views and stunning hilltop location. Rooms very nice, with own balcony. All in all, very good value.
Delightful small hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Easy to drive to and with adjacent secure car park for reasonable charge. Short walk to old part of town and sights/views. Lovely breakfast at Hotel.
Convenient location, super helpful staff, good breakfast, nice terrace but we couldn't use because it was cold Crappy beds
It was at the top of white wash hillside town. Beautiful.
Location in old town Breakfast food not covered. Flies in dining room.
Excellent view from terrace and very good location. Food in hotel restaurant was overpriced, very small portions and it was tasteless.
I can enjoy great view from the terrace. The breakfast was also great.
The hotel was great and panorama excellent. Food was not as good as expected. The fish tasted like it slept overnight in the plate.
Parking was problematic. The lot used by the hotel is a public lot. On one of the two evenings we were staying at the hotel the lot was full. The nearest alternate parking location is about 3/4 miles away down the hill.
The location is amazing. We had a wonderful dinner in the patio. nothing
Location right in the center of town and the view from the terraces. The food in the restraunt and the service was great. Driving into Hotel was confusing and the streets/lanes were narrow.
The views from the terrace and from the room were out of this world. The hotel is situated in the historic part of town within walking distance.
The views, facilities and location of hotel as well as cleanliness None
It is hard to describe this property with words unless you are a poet! This is the most beautifully located hotel that I have ever seen. I was able to upgrade to a room with a view that was beyond description. The staff at this hotel was wonderful. The food was fantastic. The room was spacious by any standard. If you go to Andalusia do not miss Arcos de la Frontera and make sure you stay at the Parador. There is a reason that this town is one of the 1,000 places to see before you die. There was nothing about this hotel that I didn't like.
Incredible view of surrounding countryside. Friendly staff A strange smelling room perfume plugged in to outlet by the bed....but I just unplugged it....
Quite a traditional hotel in a wonderful location. We chose a room with a balcony and loved having breakfast there while also enjoying the spectacular view. A comfortable room well laid out. Our room (number 8) was directly below the communal balcony. The noise, caused by movement of furniture on the balcony carried straight through to our room, disturbing sleep. The bed was a standard double size, so smaller than we are used to.
The view and friendliness of staff We didnt realise just how inaccessible the hotel was before booking, so more info on website would have been helpful. If we went again it would be by donkey, not a fully laden motorbike ! No complaints about hotel generally.
Reception staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful.Decor of room was very nice and view from room was amazing. Location of hotel is right in the centre of the old town so once you have managed to park your car you can leave it and walk everywhere. Continental breakfast was fine and could have been taken out on the terrace overlooking the fantastic views of the valley below (the weather was too cool for us to do that) Access is challenging due to the very narrow streets, limited parking close by and the fact that you have to walk 250 yards with your suitcases because the hotel is on a pedestrianised street. However, I would not use this as a deterrent to staying there unless you have limited mobility.
The private terrace overlooking the cliff was just the best! Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. WIFI didn't work in the room -- had to use the computer in the common room. Also, my husband could not get hot water in the shower
The amazing views, the old-fashioned decor and the friendly service
We liked it very much and it was great value. A superb location and very nice room.
Wonderful views across the valley from the terrace of the bedroom
Room Balcony & view Cost of breakfast rather high, parkin a problem
we had to call the owner to come and open the door of the hotel which usually remains closed on Sundays. The hotel was empty and we had an overall impression of "do as you can" because the owner did not bother much to ask if we needed something. The welcome was therefore a bit impersonal and "cold".
The hotel was beautiful and well kept. The town was interesting if you like walking around. There is a great restaurant nearby called Boabdil's Tavern which alone makes this town worth coming to. We were the only ones there. Therefore the people running it were absent most of the time, which made for some difficulties.
Nice room, clean (shared) bathrooms There was no kitchen and the owner doesn't speak English
Excellent shower facilities, very helpful service. Left behind a telephone charger at the end of our stay and found the owner had emailed us about it on our return home and kindly posted it to us.
Set in the centre of a lovely mountain town with some amazing views over the surroundings and a bunch of old churches and convents, this hotel is the perfect place to stay and to explore surrounding Jerez (a 20 minute drive) and other towns and villages. The building has a patio and a number of simple, but comfortable, large rooms built around these. You will share a bathroom, but since there are so many of them, it is unlikely that you will have to wait while they are occupied. But the best plus of this place is the staff. The manager welcomes you as if you were the first tourist to ever have set foot in the hotel, always willing to give tips, and explain Spanish life and culture. Breakfast is made according to your wishes, too!
never again Diffical to find,to expensive for value, not cleen-i said nothing, wary old and darty furniture.I prefer sleep in my care.
Very friendly hosts. Feels like home away from home. Nice surroundings and perfect for relax retreats. Very nice meal served onsite, incl. breakfasts and lunch/dinner, made with local products. Special recommendation for horse riding with Javier, very passionate man and amazing experience. All perfect.
very special experience great location nice look to Arcos de Fontera an close to the lake.
Nice location right in the centre of Arcos. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant where service was very good. Discount available to hotel guests. Can't think of anything about the hotel itself, as in many town centre places parking is difficult
The location and the historic nature of the building. The staff in the ajoining restaurant were very friendly and helpful. As a result of the wet weather the hotel was damp and felt chilly in the bedrooms, this could have been improved by providing some through ventilation.
A perfect location in the center of everything and a nice quiet hotel with friendly staff. People should be warned that it is impossible to stop in front of the hotel or within several blocks if you have to continue on. There is temporary parking to the right on the street before the hotel.
This hotel is a special building with great old architecture and lots of beautiful furniture and antiques. The location is superb in its own estate grounds. Quiet. Maybe the service is excellent at busy times but my wife and I were the only guests and felt like spare parts (but the resident housekeeper was very helpful and efficient). On arrival we asked about dinner..not possible because chef recovering from previous day's banquet...booked for next day..res hkeeper gave excellent info to eat near Arcos. Returning from dinner at night it was scary trying to find the entrance from main busy road .took 4 tries..as entrance sign not illuminated . Hotel dinner for 2 next evening was very poor in so many ways that I complained to the res hkeeper...she immediately took the dinner cost off the bill without hassle. A great place to stay so perhaps we were unlucky with our timing.
The staff who were friendly and helpful, the situation of the hotel. Would have liked computer facilities (but these are sometimes absent in **** hotels).
the hotel was close to the old town the receptionist who worked during the day and welcomed us to the hotel was unfriendly, it was not possible to pay be card (cash only)
The friendliness of the staff and the wealth of local knowledge that they were willing to share. Also no request was left unattended an dthey did everything to accommodate our needs. The hotel is tired and could use a renovation(however without losing it´s charm). Also the rooms are not soundproof.
in the centre and easy access to old town the room was not cleaned on Sunday and no hairdryer in the room. They did not take credit cards only cash to sttle the bill. the room was facing the street so quite noisy
The staff could not do enough for us. They were just fantastic, helpful and there to give a hand with bags, directions, where to go, what to see. Great people wasn't long enough
This hotel is in a reaaly nice old building on one of the main streets of Arcos. Our room had 2 doors onto little balconies and had a basic ensuite with a shower over the bath. For the money we paid it was clean and comfortable and they had no issues with us having the dog with us. Not an issue for ourselves but there was no lift so lots of stairs if your room was on the 2nd floor.
Balloon Flight No Balcony or hairdryer
Location, building, staff
Wonderful hotel; the gentleman at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful!! Also had the best tapas of our trip at their restaurant!
Central situation, friendly staff.
