Pros: We absolutely loved our weekend away to Lådfabriken! Johan & Marcel are such great hosts and pay attention to every detail. Their company, local tips and knowledge as well as the daily breakfasts were such a treat! We especially loved our dinners too and ate there every night during our stay. Thank you for everything! We will be back soon. :)
Pros: Our hosts, Johan & Marcel could not have made our stay more welcoming, comfortable or enjoyable . We had three wonderful days enjoying this beautiful area & the facility’s of their magical home. The garden & house are absolutely beautiful- endless time & care has been devoted to both. With the garden running down to the water there are some lovely spots to sit & enjoy the water & magnificent views. We ate three fabulous seafood dinners whilst there & the breakfasts were beautifully presented, delicious & plentiful. You will struggle to find anywhere with such attention to detail & warmth of environment. A true piece of paradise.
Pros: Excellent quality in every respect. Super clean. Friendly hosts. Superb location. Wonderful breakfasts. EVERYTHING! We loved it.
Cons: We liked every single thing.
Pros: The service, the food, the ambiance and Johan and Marcel the owners were all amazing. We travel the world and this was an incredible experience. Our only regret was not staying longer!! We will be back. Three nights was too short next time a week.
Cons: Nothing it was all great
Pros: Great bed, ironed bedlinen (!), wonderful common areas and garden. Fantastic food at breakfast and at dinner, friendly and fun owners made us feel very welcome and spoiled.
Cons: Room size and separate bathroom across the hall.
Pros: Wonderful location. Sublime food. Eclectic decor.
Pros: They have a beautiful house in a stunning location. And the service and food were wonderful too. Highly recommend.
Pros: Everything was superb: the house with wonderful art and decoration, food, hosts and surroundings. We enjoyed so much during our three night stay in Lådfabriken. So thank you Marcel and Johan; you made our stay in your house unforgettable!
Pros: This is more of a memorable life experience than a conventional hotel stay - superb location on Sweden's beautiful West coast, magnificent food served with real flair and splendid hosts who show amazing attention to detail and have created a rather special place to stay at Ladfabriken.
Cons: I'm not that keen on concrete bathrooms but that's a matter of architectural and design taste that others will appreciate more than me. Apart from that, there's nothing not to like.
Pros: This place will make you speechless! Johan and Marcel have created a little paradise – a stunningly beautiful home, a designer´s dream inside and outside, where you will be welcomed with open arms and made feel right at home. Relax in their lovely wild garden looking out on the archipelago right at your feet, and enjoy a swim between the rocks. Make sure to join them for their delicious dinners with fresh fish and mussels from the local fisherman, which are not only a feast for the eyes , have a sundowner drink on the terrace, watching the sun set over the rocks, and you will wonder if there could be a more beautiful place than this.

Pros: The property was newly renovated, and managed to feel both luxurious and comfortable. My room was large, with a small kitchenette built in. It had its own balcony with a view of the harbour. The host was very informative and welcoming. I had picked this for some layover days and my stay could not have been better.
Pros: Rooms are sunny, well decorated and confortable. Owners have been very helpful.

Pros: Very clean, nice attention to details, close to a Fjord, quiet and very special
Cons: Host offered a glass of wine to me when I finally found the property and charged me for it!!! Not good in my opinion.
Pros: Stayed in nice Hut, very nice surrounding in the countryside, really good breakfast which you get in the evening, put in the fridge for the next Morning, a little unusual but much variety. You have a Pool ! Very clean everywhere, hosts care very much for everything.
Cons: In the middle of the countryside, need a car to get anywhere, only fields and trees in walking distance - and a short walk to the sea!
With a stay at Strandflickornas Havshotell in Lysekil, just steps from Vikarvet and Havets hus Aquarium. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Lysekil? This hotel features 172 square feet (16 square meters) of event facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This is a cosy hotel. Not one of these big hotel centers. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Pros: This is a lovely little jewel of the hotel. Many special touches.
Cons: Our room was so tiny we couldn’t put our suitcases anywhere and walk around. It was clearly the wrong room for 2 people traveling with large suitcases for a 2 week sojourn. Probably a good room, albeit small, for a weekend guest.
Pros: The breakfast was the best we had during our 2 week stay in Europe. The hotel is quaint, each room differently decorated. Free parking right next to the hotel. There is a nice trail behind the hotel that takes you over a big rock and along the seashore.
Cons: The room (and bathroom) is very small. No ocean view from the rooms.
Pros: The atmosphere and the breakfast and the seaview.
Cons: The bathroom was not comfortable especially the shower.
Pros: I really liked the atmosphere
Pros: Charming place close to the sea, with a conservatory-style restaurant.
Pros: Location....and take advantage of the adjacent pink granite nature preserve....spectacular. Room 20 on the top floor has a great deck, which we would have spent hours enjoying if rain had not dominated our stay.
Cons: An in-room safe would be helpful.
Cons: The room is small and sleeping as a couple in a twin bed is a good test for your relation ;-)
Pros: Really friendly staff, huge buffet for breakfast and excellent. Restaurant of hotel is very good with local food and recipe.
Cons: To leave the hotel
With a stay at Lokus Hotell, you'll be centrally located in Lysekil, just a 5-minute walk from Lysekil Södra Port and 9 minutes by foot from Lysekils Church. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice room with a view of the sea. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast
Cons: Beds a bit too soft for our taste
Pros: Perfect location, very friendly staff. Excellent
Pros: Excellent beds and bathroom.
Pros: Friendly staff, very clean room. Adequate self serve breakfast.
Cons: Bit overpriced as it was a small room.
Pros: This was a wonderful hotel! Very very clean, kind staff and the beds were very comfortable. It was a short walk to the town. Perfect. We recommend this hotel!
Pros: Very nice room, newly renovated with high standard. Friendly staff. TV with chromecast was a plus.
Pros: The staff was very pleasant. Nice breakfast, very good wifi, and a very comfortable bed.
Cons: Room a bit small, no elevator to the upper floor.
Pros: Fresh and clean rooms Friendly staff Great breakfast! Nearby parking
Cons: No air-condition
Pros: The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. V good breakfast. Location central.
Cons: The place didn't stand out and we went right past it on arrival. Whilst you can see the sea it is looking over a derelict old railway yard
Pros: Very friendly staff, lots of storage inroom, excellent bathroom with cupboard and hooks, terrific breakfast. Very clean.
Cons: Liked everything.
Located in Nosund, Nösundsgården is within a 15-minute drive of Tuvesvik Ferry Terminal and Gullholmen Harbour. Featured amenities include coffee/tea in a common area, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice bedroom and kitchen
Cons: No wifi available in the bedroom
Pros: Really nice people :) Beautiful place!
Pros: Very nice personnel.
Cons: Curtains need to be replaced if possible.
Pros: I liked everything, but the hotel was closed because low season, we got a room anyway, because we were able to book from booking.com. the room was very nice, nothing to say about that, it is a style I really like, almost like home, white and natural look. ....but.....
Cons: ....BUT, because of low season we didn’t have any breakfast because the hotel was closed, we could have eat breakfast in the ned hotel, we were welcome to do that but we should have payed extra. I honestly think that for the season and the all situation the price for a small room ONLY ...2 adults 1 kid on the sofa bed - 1250kr 1 night ,,,, it is suuuuuuuuuper expensive. We didn’t have a better choice because everything else was closed and outside -10 so no possibility to camp ;-) Anyway, the owner was a nice man, the place absolutely beautiful, in summer wirth the price if include breakfast.
Pros: Location was amazing and host was very friendly, kind and interesting. Helped us a lot with suggesting local sites.
Pros: The straff was very nice
Cons: The location
Pros: It's great place to stay ! The room was great as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful and if you like nature and hiking it is the perfect place !
With a stay at Gullmarsstrand Hotell & Konferens in Fiskebackskil, you'll be by the sea, just a 1-minute walk from Fiskebäckskil Jetty and 7 minutes by foot from Fiskebäckskils Church. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. Planning an event in Fiskebackskil? This hotel has facilities measuring 10007 square feet (930 square meters), including a conference center. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Fantastic location on coast. Modern facilities, catering as much to the conference trade as to leisure travellers. Fine dining restaurant as well as bar food. A lot of rooms are in a building behind main complex. A lot of steps up (but worth it to get the view over the sea)
Cons: Hardly anything to dislike. But restaurant has limited menu, changed weekly (eg there were three main dishes, two of them fish).
Pros: Amazing location and very charming
Cons: Top floor of building 5 with 2.5 year old. A lot of steps for a little one
Pros: What a nice hotel in a beautiful and peaceful village! The Spa is fantastic, just nearby the sea. Hotel consigliatissimo!
Pros: The buildings and the location was beautiful. Food was lovely. Nice staff in the restaurant.
Cons: One of the girls in the reception was neither nice nor polite when we told about people drinking too much alcohol in the SPA and that they had thrown corks and other rubbish into the tube. Me and my daughter expected an apology rather than being told that they had booked the facilities and obviously could behave as they pleased. We were also disappointed that we had to pay a lot extra just to enter the SPA-area. We travel a lot and are not used to that.
Pros: Beautiful location. Staff friendly, professional and attentive. Accommodation very good.
Pros: Location on the water is absolutely stunning. Resort is next to a beach, walking trails and ferry stop and has its own dock for small boats. Unfussy and beautifully-designed public areas such as library, decks, terraces, bar and restaurant. Top on the list of our stay was soaking in the hot tub (reserved for additional fee) where we relaxed, chatted with friendly fellow hotel guests, took in gorgeous views and occasionally dipped in the ocean between soaks. Along with 100 other guests and locals, we also enjoyed participating in jympa, communal Swedish exercises, held on the deck next to the water.
Cons: The guest rooms and bathrooms are small. Communal spaces are punctually locked up between 10:00 pm and 7:30 am so if you stay up late or get up early, there’s no where indoor to go other than your small room. Restaurant/bar hours are 11:00 pm-7:30 am.
Cons: The room was a bit too small. The ventilation in the bathroom did not work properly which caused bad smell if we luft the door closes. The smell Cameron from the gytter by the shower. We reported it to the clearing straff but no action.
Pros: Everything was fantastic, especially the hotel's situation.
When you stay at Strandvillan Hotell & Vandrarhem, Lysekil in Lysekil, you'll be next to a golf course, just steps from Havets hus Aquarium and 4 minutes by foot from Lysekils Church. Featured amenities include a computer station, express check-out, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It easy to locate from Gothenburg
Cons: Accepting both Dollars,Euro and Pound Sterling
Pros: Very friendly staff! No problem to change room when we said that first room offered was difficult for supervising a two year old with its stone floors, and stone edges below the bunk beds.
Cons: It became only clear to me that this was a hostel (vandrarhem) when I read in the confirmation email that sheets/towels were extra. Check in/check out times are inconvenient. Price was high for off season considering that no sheets/towels or breakfast is included.
Pros: Perfect location, very clean and bright room..
Pros: Lovely old hotel.
Pros: Location, location! And the staff—young and generally eager to please. There are two properties owned and operated by the same operation and they are VERY DIFFERENT in their rooms and amenities. So be sure that you sign up for the one you want. The names of the two sites are very similar too. We stayed in the period hotel with fine dining 9 years ago. We thought we were booking there again in 2019 including dinner reservations. We ended up in their hostel/hotel a number of blocks away but with the dinners at the place we intended to be. Imagine that!
Cons: The rooms in the hostel/ hotel very very spare and quite small. You pay extra to have towels and the very small bathroom comes will no amenities other than soap and tp. The bedroom is hard to move around it with one chair and no table a hanger or two to hang clothes in a wardrobe. We could go on. We were staying there 2 nights. Perhaps good for families with children. Don’t know what the hostel provided for them. This was not inexpensive either. In our case it was not what we expected nor ready for.
Pros: Very nice location. Great atmosphere of classic Swedish design. It feels like hotel rather than hostel.
Cons: We had to walk for breakfast to other building.
Pros: It was in a very nice location close to the sea and the nature reserve. It has a kitchen guests can use which is handy and breakfast was good. Staff were very pleasant and facilities were clean.
Cons: The main issue was the room was so small. I booked a room for 3 adults and it was described as having a double plus a bunk - however the “bunk” was actually a flip down bed suspended on the wall directly above the head end of the (small) double. It would have been fine for a child but I doubted it would safely take the weight of an adult so we resorted to moving the mattress to the floor which meant there was almost no floor space. Ok for one night but I was glad it wasn’t a longer stay. So advice to future travellers is check exactly what facilities you’re getting! I also felt it was inappropriate for a hotel to expect guests to make their own beds up. Not the end of the world but it was advertised as a hotel not a hostel and it certainly wasn’t hostel prices!
Pros: Very friendly personnel, easy atmosphere, very clean, free coffee and tea
Cons: The mattress was very soft
Pros: Fantastic view and lovely oldfashioned rooms! We were very surprised this being a hostel.
Located in Nosund, Nösund Havshotell is by the sea, within a 15-minute drive of Tuvesvik Ferry Terminal and Gullholmen Harbour. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location is amazing, beautiful surrounding. The rooms were basic but nice. The description says swimming pool, it’s not really a swimming pool, more like 3 small hot pools, the kids were disappointed but we weren’t, it was great to relax in them, in front of the lake, with windows open and sun shining.
Cons: The dinner was incredibly expensive. We misunderstood and thought it was 295 SEK for the menu, but it was the price of the main dish only, appetiser was 145, and dessert was 85, so for the 4 of us, we ended up paying 1904SEK, almost as much as the price for our rooms , and that was by far the most expensive meal we had in our week in Sweden. The meal was good, but nothing exceptional, portions were small, and it was definitely not worth that price.
Pros: The spa was included, it was in a really nice island surrounded by the see. We jump few times to the sea water after the sauna, and the hot water pools were really nice to relax in the sun. The staff allowed to drink beer or wine in the pools. The breakfast was really nice. The dinner was great, even a little expensive. The selection of wines was really good.
Cons: Maybe for the late booking, just the morning before, we got a small room in the main building that was not having a good view.
Pros: Great location and cosy facilities. Simple menu but enjoyable.
Cons: The weather
Pros: Beautiful location, nice bar, hard-working and helpful staff.
Cons: Overpriced food, poorly furnished room.
Set on Orust Island, 6 km from Ellös town centre, this hostel is 10 minutes’ walk from the Skagerrak Strait. It offers free Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen and large surrounding garden with BBQ facilities. The individually decorated rooms at STF Tofta Gård Orust all have shared bathroom facilities. Some have a seating area and in-room washbasin. Leisure options on site include a shared lounge, board games and books. Tofta Gård also has a bookable wood-fired sauna and outdoor wooden hot tub. Nice hiking and cycling paths can be found in the area, along with a pay-and-play golf course. Waterfront destinations such as Lysekil, Kungshamn and Marstrand Island are all within an hour’s drive, while Gothenburg is 80 km away.
Pros: The location
Pros: It's a standard STF hostel with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities! The building itself and the surrounding are very nice! Short distance to the see and several nice spots for lunch and dinner outside. The location is a good starting point for some tours .
Cons: The shared kitchen and bathroom facilities maybe need some renovations and the beds are very "soft".
Pros: Location was beatiful.
Cons: Room was small and shallow.
Grand Hotel Lysekil is centrally located in Lysekil, a 3-minute walk from Lysekils Church and 8 minutes by foot from Havets hus Aquarium. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
Pros: Breakfast was very good!
Cons: The room was a bit too simple for the price. It felt more like a room in a hostel than a hotel.
Pros: Location and the heritage of the house that could be felt. Breakfast was good as well. The restaurants nearby were excellent.
Cons: Not everything got refilled by the room service.
Pros: Old style but comfortable hotel right in the centre. Friendly welcome and personalized attention. Quaint room, but excellent bed. Beautiful view of the sea and the market square. The breakfast is excellent and not mainstream. Will certainly stay again.
Cons: The restaurants were all closed because of the end of the summer. It was a bit bleak as a result. There is no elevator, though that is not important for me, it should be noted.
Pros: The central location & the staff were major plus points. The breakfast choice was reasonable. A historic hotel which has been in Lysekil for over a hundred years.
Cons: I did feel that the room price was excessive in relation to the quality of the room.It seemed as if the wallpaper in the bedroom hadn,t been finished to a professional standard.I,m not sure if the hotel is going through a transformation but there was no stair carpet leading up to the rooms.
Pros: Fine breakfast.
Cons: Better possibilities to part the car. Too small beds. The reception staff could be more professional.
Pros: Bath room smelled the sewer since it is an old property. Bed was too soft.
Cons: Soft or extra soft bed.
Pros: very bad the quality
Cons: they suppose to clean the room .I come back at two oclock noon from gotheburg and it was a mess. they knock my door and i said later . then they never interested for cleaning since the next day where i left home . i fount the whole think un profesional. and the cleaner and the woman infront of the desk
Pros: Location/ Old fashioned style
Cons: Bed was to soft / worn No white bread at Breakfast
Hotel Lysekil is in the heart of Lysekil, within a 5-minute walk of Lysekil Södra Port and Lysekils Church. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Hotel Lysekil is located about 200m from the bus stop that connects to Gothenburg which is ideal if using public transport.I had a single room with sea views & the room was of a reasonable size.I was very happy with the buffet breakfast which had a good variety of options. It was served in a beautiful room at the front of the hotel with panoramic sea views across to Fiskebakskil. There is a decent restaurant attached to the hotel. The pizza,s were very nice!As the hotel is centrally located it,s easy to get around Lysekil on foot. The hotel staff were welcoming & helpful.
Cons: The shower room was a little on the small side but no real problem. Lysekil is a lively resort in summertime so there can be quite a bit of external noise in the streets outside into the early hours on some nights.
Pros: The staff was excelent. Always helpful and smiling!
