this was a very good hotel, easy to find and a good central location that met all our needs. The breakfast was great and being able to sit outside with our morning tea on the canal side was a real bonus. The bar staff on the evening was also very helpful. The only slight problem was on our departure, when paying the bill it was different to the amount quoted but this problem was soon resolved with again very pleasant reception staff.
Excellent staff very courteious and helpful especially in the resturant Extractor fan in bathroom didnt work and no got it fixed even aftrer we had asked them to do so
the gym and pool no
Comfy bed, good facilities
our room was lovely and it was a very romantic setting.I would recommend it to anyone,If I was to go back to ellesmere I would stay at the holiday inn.
everything was very good
I thought the staff were superb. Very helpful and approachable, they really are a credit to the hotel and made a lovely change compared to some we have stayed in.
Staff (reception & bar) were very friendly and helpful. All the housekeeping staff said "good morning" everyday. Received newspaper outside room 1st morning, nothing next morning, then paper was at reception the following day. I was informed papers are always collected from reception even thought it had been delivered the first day!
location not very clean room and heating did not work - Airco could barely compensate
convenient for our purpose, good facilitiies and good food None
easy acces for surrounding areas
Accomadation and services good Dirty bathmat in bathroom
The bed was comfortable and the plumbing worked * The hotel was managed and operated by ill-trained, incompetent staff who had no idea how to handle everyday duties let alone manage a crisis such as the fire alarm erroneously going off at 4.15 in the morning leaving hundreds of guests wandering round the car park in the pouring rain. Not even a free breakfast was offered to guests by vway of compensation. * Tacky and worn bedroom furniture * Inadequate bedroom info as to hotel facilities. * Grossly overpriced - £15-a-day - internet connection * Grossly overpriced bar menu
Hotel was easy to get to clean and friendly Rooms need to be bigger for families and could do with upgrading also thought breakfast was overpriced
It is a good hotel for conferences. Perhaps they were a little understaffed as when I tried to call reception there was no answer. When the tours are leaving or checking in they get a little swamped.
Plesant and very good hotel Took over one hour to check in unable to find our booking, we were just leaving when they found it, would not possibly book this way again
The hotel is located in Frodsham town centre. It is within easy walking distance to shops, pubs and Frodsham railway station and has a guest car park. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated and staff members are friendly and helpful. The restaurant may look expensive at first glance but the food is excellent and good value. The hotel has cots and highchairs for families travelling with babies. For a longer stay, I would have liked an iron and ironing board in my room.
Staff very good Overpriced food & accomodation, Shaver socket in bathroom not working, 2 lights in room not working, little sleep due to a motor running all night outside, place needs a freshening up
Very nice village with many interesting buildings and related historical information. Hotel very warm and welcoming with lovely log fire. Restaurant evening meal was OK but nothing special. Service was also rather rushed.
Lovely building bath available No tea coffee facilities in room
First room offered was still being decorated. Was then offered an excellent room to a very high standard with no quibble.
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Very convenient for Liverpool and Chester with the comfort of a small, friendly hotel.
Friendly staff, walking distance to the town, lovely old part to the building, great fire at entrance and a great breakfast. Bathrooms needed updating.
Friendliness and efficiency of all staff at all times. The upstairs rooms a little too warm but guests able to open windows. One bathroom mirror light not working but not a problem.
The check in staff were friendly, welcoming. The bar staf and restaurant staff were pleasant. The hotel was badly in need of a refit, very dated and tatty. The swimming pool had a moldy fetid smell. The lockers in the changing rooms did not lock and there was no soap in the showers.
some of the staff were ok the whole place was dirty in particular the so called health suite which was absolutly filthy. the standard of food in the restaurant was poor in particular the breakfasts which were never fresh and often left on the plat by myself and other guests. the hotel staff don't know the procedures it took me 30min to check out making me late for an appointment.
The staff were so friendly very smartly dressed and very helpful. The food was gorgeous and the staff in the restaurant were exceelent a credit to The Quality Hotel Chester
Convenience, close to cities.Good parking. Large refurbished room
Comfortable room good price for hotel with gym gym facilities being restored was not advised there would be no lockers etc when making reservation
The pool it was very refreshing. The food was lovely and staff were very helpful. We will stay at a quality hotel again.
The helpfulness of the staff. We could hear the ain road form our roon.
The swimming pool was clean and reasonably sized. The bed was uncomfortable. Towels were a bit dated. Room was always cold on my return each evening as staff were always turning the heater off.
room was lovley, food excellent, enjoyed the motown evening, but dissapointed that we didnt have time to use the pool and saunas the bar and enterainment room could do with being a bit bigger and also some airconditioning in there it was so hot.
The lovely atmosphere, spacious room and good breakfast were the best bits. There was also a good view of the lovely garden from the bedroom. There was a humming noise coming from the kitchen freezer next to the bedroom,
spotless facilities family run hotel with comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere and i was made to feel welcome. well decorated rooms with good amenities
Prety house and good breakfast. Large parking Good staff Rather difficult to find even with a gps! Search for Hooton instead of Ellesmere Port ...
Clean Comfortable Good parking facilities None
Excellant room and service. Very clean and weloming. Our room was adjacent to a marvellous garden which we could relax in. Restaurant was closed on Sunday night.
Owner and staff very helpful and friendly exellent service very high standard but still had that personal touch that is often lost with some hotels I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel to anyone (superb) There where no bad points
The rooms were spot on. Very clean both bedroom and bathroom and were really comfortable and decorated fantastically Perhaps a bit more soundproofing, snoring from other rooms bit off putting
Superb room, excellent service.
Large rm, choice of rm only, late bar - local event was a late finish so really appreciated a drink as I was driving. Tv with teletext, plenty of parking space despite a private dinner party in Hotel. Double rm was actually a family rm, if I had known this then 2nd single rm would not habve been needed (a twin room required) and this would have saved the extra expense incurred. Walls are paper thin, thankfully other guests were not noisey when they passed my room or the rooms either side.
Such a friendly place to stay. The hotel is a family run business and makes a great change from the usual branded hotels. All the staff were great and so friendly. The evening meal was amazing, worth staying in the hotel just for this. The room rate was great value and the meal was very reasonably priced too. Overall I stayed for business but I will be going back for pleasure.
At first it seems like very loud place, but surprisingly it is not. Liked location and not pushy staff. I did not like stained bedding, out of date overall design and leaking hydraulics
The hotel is cheap and cheerful. A reasonable price for accommodation needed before an early morning flight. No frills just somewhere to lay your head.
great location for trains
Good, clean ,simple room. Good service.
the cleanliness and the room no
The hotel was comfortable and clean. It fulfilled all my requirements in these areas. When I booked, I understood there was 24 hour reception. We had indicated a late arrival. The phone number on the door was incorrect in that it had the international dialling code and we had to ask another guest to help us. Not the best of welcomes.
Stayed night before an early flight from Liverpool Airport. Location was excellent and facilities were good.
Staff were very helpful
Value for money and location
A very warm welcome from the staff and nothing was too much to ask. Lovely breakfast and plently of choise. Would use this again as its a good location I think it time for some renovation, especially the bathroom. But ut was clean.
C9omfort No lift !!
Check in and out was efficient some of the restaurant serving staff were surley and uncommunicative
comfort and cleanliness of hotel
I received excellent service, good food and value for money.
Breakfast was good, they cook the eggs fresh for you which made a change Bathroom, lots of hairs on the floor in the corners and the bed seemed very old
The happy and friendly staff. The pleasant and comfortablenature of the hotel.
We we're in frodsham for a night out with friends, fantastic evening it was too, great local bars and nice people. The hotel is in a fantastic location with excellent views across cheshire, we paid £60 for 1 night , we arrived at the hotel around 3pm and made use of the pool, jacuzzi and steam room before our night out , the food we ordered in room was lovely too, although a full english in the morning set us back nearly £11 each, all round good experiance and we will be going back very soon i think .
Personal touch of hotel-refreshing for it not to be a 'chain hotel'. Continental breakfast very disappointing
Great leisure centre and nice location.
Sauna, swim, jacuzzi, and playing snooker till late! No
Good service, comfortable accommodation and good quality restaurant facilities.
Hotel clean, trainee receptionist very helpful Food at adjoining restaurant only adequate, very busy, staff pleasant but slow service
hotel was very comfortable .family room was good plenty room to move with 2 children . the room was very noisy even during the day and night did not get much sleep as the motor way was right out side our room not even 20yards away . i think when so near a road should have double glazing not secondary as we did not get much sleep ,for the traffic which ran all night . other than that we had a good stay.
The check-in was much improved from the last time we stayed and the receptionist responded well to my questions about entry to the hotel later that evening.
Fairly clean, tidy, comfortable bed Heater didnt work when I entered my room, had to go downstairs (no phone!!) to request help, receptionist (only one person on duty?) had to come up and reset heater as had been off all year she said, why would they not do this when cleaning the rooms knowing it's cold now as autumn approaches? Then about 40 minutes after heater was on, room was hardly warmed as heater was too small for size of room and then it broke - leaving the room cold all night. Hair in the shower plug. 6:30 am my colleague in the next room and I were woken by the fire alarm going off!! Which made it impossible to go back to sleep when woken with such a shock.
Clean. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast. No traffic noise although next to motorway. Slow check in. Very young giddley girls behind the bar, tended to ignor customers. Only one set of towels in room although booked for two.
convienient easy access to other areas of interest could be sign posted better staff ok
I def liked the friendly staff, they were super helpful with whatever we needed help with That the express way was right outside our window. Maybe need to invest in some better windows with thicker glass.
The bedroom was sufficiently equipped with a double bed of good comfort level, which gave you a good night's sleep; and the room was quite sizeable. There was a constant "musty air" atmosphere both within the room and particularly in to corridor leading to the room, which was very off putting. The condition of the bathroom was not good, and the general interior of the hotel (other than the reception) was very poor.
Food was excellent Hotel is poorly located right next to the busy M56. Unfortunately my room opened up onto the M56 therefore I could not sleep with an open window which meant that the room became stuffy
