Very friendly and helpfull staff at reception. Rooms are nicely refurbished and very clean! Free continental breakfast is sober, but OK. Restaurants (mostly fast-food) are all close-by in the area. Secured parking (free) en free wifi are provided. A very good price/quality accomodation. The location requires a car for exploring Los Angeles, where traffic jams can cause an extended traveltime.....!!
The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, and everything was squeaky clean. Breakfast had lots of options and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again. All 3 vending machines were out of bottled water.
Staff was helpful and courteous, facility clean and comfortable, at a reasonable cost. The parking lot was well lit and key-card accessible only. I goofed when making my reservation (cutting myself off a day early) and it was handled courteously and professionally. I would definitely stay here again. The wi-fi, while free, tended to log out/time-out overnight or during the day, and was tricky to log back into. Because of the design (open air corridors around a central atrium), people passing by in the hall were noisier than expected. But other guests seemed to retire at a reasonable hour, so it didn't really disturb me. There is no elevator that I could find, so pack light or request a ground floor room.
Gated parking. This hotel is not in the greatest area. Terrible sound isolation between floors. Sounded like a wrestling match going on in the room overhead till 2AM. Had to call the front office to complain.
Clean hotel Breakfast
Location, room comfy, and mostly quiet despite 405 freeway nearby. No complimentary breakfast. There's a Denny's on site, where the food can b good or not so good. (Different chefs?). No King beds available, although this may be because I made a late reservation.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds Very close to the freeway so lots of traffic noise for the light sleeper....but they do provide earplugs!
Coming from San Diego, LA can be a bit daunting, so wanted to be sure to stay in a part of LA that wasn't sketchy. Sherman Oaks is central enough. Hotel is very nice. Rooms are nicer than the outside of the hotel gives away. Exterior is fine and updated, but gives away its age as a 1960s original motor inn. But well-maintained and managed. The toiletries were nice and boutique-hotel worthy. Would stay here again. Good staff and service. Not much to not like, but perhaps the noise outside the room is less than ideal.
Convenient to freeway and restaurant. The most economical in the area. Decent sized room and reasonably comfortable bed. Noisy! First the terrible highway traffic, including revving bikes and screaming ambulances, and then the housekeepers shouting at each other right outside my door. I would have hidden my head under a blanket, but my request for a blanket went unanswered for six long hours. And you can usually shield yourself from noise with the AC fan, but not here: only a distant whisper.
Checking in and out was easy due to the very easy going ans helpful staff. We were there for an event and the location worked out great. Also just down the way arw a bunch of great places to eat. I mainly chose this place because it had a high cleanliness rating. The rooms were fairy dirty and things were falling apart. One of the lights didn't turn on, dust was very visible ans there was a red/brownish stain on the bathroom wall by the switch.
Pretty spacious . Nice lighting . Not enough blankets
Clean room and comfortable beds Check in was a bit slow
Very clean and comfortable. Great helpful courteous staff. Denny's on-site & room service convenient.
Location Street noise, no sleep timer on TV remote, stained carpet, got bit by something the first night.
I liked the location, it was pretty much 15-20 min away from everything. There's a Denny's right next to the hotel, which you can get room service from until midnight but it's open 24 hours so you can still walk over. The room had a lot of mirrors. The pool is small but convenient for kids. Parking became difficult to find when you get back late, but it was also 4th of July weekend so they were probably all booked. There were some people smoking right outside their rooms.
Comfort of toom Bed too soft and lumpy
Nice and clean I rented this room 2 months in advance when I was going to my room their was no parking spaces they have 180 rooms and 140 parking spaces the clerk said they did not guaranty a parking space having 2 young children I arrive at midnight to the hotel with no parking I ask cleck for a refund CLERK SAID HE REFUND DEPOSIT BUT It was not possible to get my money from expedia. Plain and simple Dont expect to get a parking space come solo....
Good location. Very nice property. Great common area on each floor. Above average breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Close to freeway. Good internet connectivity. Courtesy computers and printer on ground floor. Noisy in room refrigerator kept waking us up in the middle of the night.
Internet was very slow
Great staff. Beautiful decor. Great room. Good location. No complaints
Location Did not serve breakfast before 7:00 AM on the weekend. In town for a soccer game and had to leave the property to get breakfast.
Staff was helpful and friendly. My room was not clean -- dusty furniture, dearty windows, hand cream, that hotel provided dried up.
Room was clean and quite big. Room furniture was adequate. It was without frills and fancy. The shower area was not properly designed. The shower curtains were not adequate. This cause water to spill over and make the whole floor wet. It became a big mess. Also the vanity area was very small.
Location is excellent--lot's to do nearby. Room is comfortable. Wifi is free. coffee pot in room. Bed is way too soft. TV has limited channels. Paid parking--$15.00 per day. No full service restaurant--only dinner. Pool is small and hot tub is not inviting. Staff are direct not gracious. No safe in room.
Its clean and located near the freeway... Continental breakfast was not very good...apples and oranges for fruit only? Muffins were tiny. One bite size. Thank God there's a Dennys next store.Would recommend but....
Even though I had requested a quiet room, the room we were first offered was right next to the ice machine. The second room we were offered had a bad smell, but the third room was relatively quiet and functional. The location, which is right between Ventura Boulevard - a very busy street - and Highway 101 - also a very busy highway.
good location if you have a car, comfortable and large rooms breakfast should be better
They had nice furniture and kept the room clean also it was very close to the freeway witch made it easy. The bed was the only thing that could use major improvement. It was way too firm and it was hard to sleep and relax on it.
Good location, nice kind size bed, clean.
Breakfast was minimal and area was much too small.
It was close to the freeway and to every main attraction.
We very much enjoyed the swimming pool and being able to sit around it with our family. The noise coming from the traffic on Ventura and the freeway behind the motel.
Very clean and good value for money. Staff very helpful.
it was clean. pool was nice. quiet location
Facility is not well kept up...... toilet was not flushing in the first room they assigned to me; was told the maintenance staff was not available, but they did move right away; the smell on the second floor hallway was offensive .......the staff does the best they can with the realities of ownership/management.......could never stay there again.....even in area thats seems safe, they had a guard in their parking lot......
Convenient location to visit la while travelling by car
We hated it. My wife, son and I are currently homeless and have stayed in hotels for the past four months because our son is in school in the area. We typically use priceline, but could not find a place with them over New Year's eve, so we used your service and booked for four days. They would not take our pre-paid credit card, so we paid cash and only stayed one night. Once the manager declined to take our credit card I went to the car and my wife paid cash after we checked in for the night the manager made an inappropiate comment about my wife's body. This is part of the reason it left a bad taste in our mouth.
Can not think af anything. Almost everything
this hotel was horrible i rented three rooms and we all had the same opinion. a lot of prostitution working at this hotel, not a family hotel
The people who ran the hotel remembered us from our stay in August 2009, when the property was a Comfort Inn. As much as possible they tried to give us the service they provided at our last visit. Their willingness to please us helped make up for our disappointment in the lack of amenities characteristic of a Motel 6. We stayed at this property in August 2009 when it was a Comfort Inn. Now it is a Motel 6 and not comfortable at all even though the same family operates it. You get clean sheets, a thin towel and a bar of soap. The Comfort Inn was a family place --people chatted over the complimentary breakfast. The Motel 6 offers no breakfast and the clientele was creepy and possibly criminal. There was a undercover cop arresting people in the parking lot when we checked in.

Proximity to family (the reason I was in the area). Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. I've stayed in this hotel several times. This visit was the first time I saw security in the parking lot. Good that it is available, but concerning if it is necessary.

Hotel was located in the San Fernando Valley near the freeway. Free breakfast Check in could have gone a little better. Key did not work the first time and had to return to front desk
None 1. Pillows were not comfortable as hotel only has extra thick pillows. 2. Not worth for the cost I paid 3. Hotel do not provide micro oven
Late cheeck-in and complimentary breakfast
This place was so outdated and unlean..ants in the bathroom, bugs and mosquitoes inside because Windows wouldn't shut. The towels under your dirty microwave is just gross. Breakfast included is jet fuel coffee and day old muffins. I didn't personally book this, but i would not recommend to anyone who is wanting to sleep, stay clean, or enjoy their visit to woodland hills.
This was not a fancy but a very clean motel which was situated in a good location for our trip. A very good value for the price. Well maintained and clean.
A jug of milk, ordered for my three young children was 22 dollars.
Friendly and helpful staff, room was very clean and comfortable they have removed the bath tubs, which was a bummer because I was really looking forward to a hot soak at the end of my day. Also, the overhead bathroom light automatically shuts off after a few minutes, so the room went mostly dark during my shower.
Staff was very nice. No Fridge in room. Windows didn't open.
Big room. Walking distance to shopping (Westfield Topanga). Noisy. The room is not well insulated from noise in the hall way and adjacent rooms. The mattress was too soft. The bed frame made noise and had to be fixed. No safe in the room for valuables. Internet costs extra. $17 for parking.
Why is there no pool at this facility?
Price was, great for a safe and clean room. Had to pay $17 for parking when there are plenty of parking in near by malls. Room was no frills but clean and comfortable
very good, clean room wake up call system not reliable
Bedding was terrible, paper thin
Due to an oversight from booking.com we ended up without a place to stay for the evening, we never tried kayak before and in less than a minute we secured a room, cheaper than the original booking. The hotel was clean room was spacious they had a shuttle in a three mile radius. Close to shops malls etc. Hated the lumpy pillows , gel pillows work so much better. Our heads weigh a lot so down pillows just get smashed down. Shower head was way too high and was low flow,
Weekend rates were excellent and it is centrally located within a mile of dozens of restaurants, a movie theatre, malls, etc.. 15 minutes from the beach and 30 minutes from Hollywood. Great location if you are visiting someone in the West San Fernando Valley The lobby was under constructions so it was a little bit hectic with the limited operating space.
Hotel is maintained nicely, staff is supportive and friendly. Rooms are showing their age. No in room safe, no in-room technology plate, wireless access only,
Was clean, nice continental breakfast, comfortable beds. The location was kinda sketchy for the price. You were a good hour at least from anything important.
quiet and clean place air conditioner have very bad noise
convienient to freeway, good restaurants, clean rooms, quiet, comfortable bed
welcoming and professional staff, quiet room despite it being right next to a major street and the freeway, there's quite a bit of parking space, and there's a fridge and a microwave in the room. Very small bathrooms, the room are quite spartan, and a bit dark, the air conditioning is functional but noisy.
Super clean Great stay. No issues
Rooms were modern, up to date, and clean. Hot shower with good water pressure always a plus. Loved having a small patio to relax outside. Apparently there were hookers on the street corner .... But that's totally out of the hotel's control. Good thing is I never seen them and they were not in or at the hotel!
Great continental breakfast, friendly staff, good size room and bed, quiet location even though next to main street Parking was tight, when motel was full (as it was both nightrs we stayed) parking was very limited
Bathroom floor was not clean
Staff were friendly and did a courtesy call when we got to our room, price was good and free breakfast was good We stayed for three nights, four days. Even though breakfast was good we only went one time, the area where the breakfast was served at was way to cramped to accommodate any more than 10 people.
Good location for our needs in LA. Good value. Loud airconditioning unit inside room and all night music by the poolside.
The bed had a burn hole in it and was very much unclean.
Clean rooms, great staff. Easy access to the 101. Close to dining and shopping.
No carpeting, which was okay. The floors were a vinyl with a wood pattern. They were sticky and filthy. We asked that housekeeping clean them while we were out for the day, but when we came back late in the evening they were still dirty. Also, we were told when we checked in that if we wanted fresh towels or housekeeping service that there would be an extra charge. Although it was an extended stay hotel with a small kitchen there were no dishes, utensils, or cookware. You had to get that at the front desk. There wasn't even a coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. It also appeared as if this hotel was part of a program to house homeless. Wish we'd known before we paid full price to stay here. Terrible place.
Nothing I was suppose to be in a non-smoking room. I walked into the room and the smoke smell was overwhelming! I went back to the front and informed the staff that the room had been smoked in. They the informed me that they were sorry but they could not put me in another room! They told me that they would spray the room. This did not work! I will never stay at another Extended Stay!
Hospitality was great. Front desk team very good and so helpful. The noise level with the young college students residing. Felt like we were in a college dorm one night
Everything in general From staff To service
I WAS THERE WITH MY KIDS AND THEIR FAMILY AND WE GOT THERE AROUND 3;30 PM AND 2 OF THE ROOMS WERE NOT READY UNTILL 5:45. OUT OF THE 4 ROOMS WE HAD RESERVED FOR THE EVENING AND CONFIRMED THE DAY PRIOR THAT WE WOULD BE ARRIVING AROUND 3-3:30ISH AND VERIFIED THE ROOMS WOULD BE READY AS WE HAD A WEDDING TO ATTEND AROUND 6PM. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE WERE ALL EXTREMELY STRESSED OUT WITH THE ACCOMMODATIONS PIECE AND BEING ABLE TO GET READY AND BE ON TIME TO THE WEDDING. SADLY, THE FRONT DESK STAFF SEEMED TO NOT CARE AND DIDN'T APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAYED ROOMS.
The room size Very out of date, not worth the price. Needs to be 25% cheaper.
The room was cleaned daily, beds were made and they have lots of pillows in the room. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms. Although you are right by the freeway, you don't hear lots of noise. Little to no parking. One day we came back late to the room and there was no parking, and it was confusing on where it was ok to park out on the street. My husband had to help me take the kids up stairs then come down and park the car in a compact area. The check in staff was not the friendliest.
Some of the front desk staff was polite. Pool was a decent size. Bed was not leveled .Floors also felt like it had holes at least 1 square foot in some spots. Shower head was pretty dirty. The noise was bad from construction crew that was fixing a room close to my room. Noise from highway was pretty bad early morning and late at night. Walls were so thin that I heard conversations as if I was in the same room.
The beds very hard.
It was dirty and smelled weird.
Cheap, relatively clean Rooms and building exterior badly need rehabbing. Tub was patched with repair compound and needs to be reglazed. Shower head is waaaay too low, and I'm only 5'10
Poor hotel Infested with silver bag Poor internet so called free WiFi
The carpets and floor were filthy
Acoustic insulation is not good at all. We could hear every conversations of people walking by our room. Both queen bed is squeeking too much and curtain has multiple holes.
This hotel was great for us. We got a large room with king bed and fold out queen. It was very clean and the location was great for us, we really appreciated how secure the hotel was. The breakfast in the morning was nice and it was walking distance to many fast food options and a grocery store right across the street. The only problem we had was with the shower, it was very clean and nicely redone, but the water pressure was horrible and I don't think the shower head was hooked up correctly. Other than that it was great.
New carpet, very clean room. Breakfast was great! Plenty of choices. Overall I would definitely recommend. Sink was backed up but was taken care of when we reported it.
The pool is located poorly with almost no sunlight. The location is far from any decent walking or eating areas, thus requiring a car.
The hotel was nice.
The breakfast was good and the breakfast area was nice. Room was comfortable. The parking was scarce. We got to the hotel early but was afraid to leave because we were told we'd have to park behind another car and leave the keys so it could be moved it necessary. The area of town seemed a bit run down and not safe to walk in.
Neighbourhood is run down, few restaurant options
Nothing Horrible neighborhood, there were prostitutes or what looked to be prositutes walking the streets all hours of the day. I had my 9 month old daughter and 7 year old son and i had to run out and buy sheets for our beds because my son found a condom in the bed. Overall this was the worst experience ive ever had in a hotel. I believe a Motel 6 would have been 10 times better.
it was cheap, had parking, close to my business meetings. 1. They did not have me listed as having a reservation. 2. From February 1 to Feb 3 I stayed in room 323 at the N Hollywood Comfort Inn. All was well but for one huge issue - the toilet seat looked disgusting. There was a brown ring around the inside of the seat itself. Upon closer inspection it was a ring of rust or the paint was scraped off - but frankly, it was very unappealing and made sitting extremely uncomfortable and disquieting. Considering a toilet seat can be bought for under $30 and is very easy to install I was shocked to see this in the room. Such an easy fix for such an obvious problem. Most discouraging...will I stay @ Comfort Inn again - I doubt it
Having a variety breakfast, choice of hot or cold and a change every other day. The help in breakfast room always pleasant and kept everything filled, and cleaned up after the messy people. Didn't like having to pay $5. for a refrigerator in room, they were remodeling practically the whole floor and the cabinets where the micro and refrig went were empty so when we ask for the refrig were told it would be $5. so yes it was worth it for the days we were there although it was not very cold. Parking was an issue if you had to leave your keys with desk, when you are responsible for a rental having someone else have keys is a worry, and most aggravating is keys that become demagnetized and your room the farthest from desk and your tired and have to go back down for it to be fixed it happened twice
The location was very convenient for our needs -- we were visiting family and stayed there for several days. The room was large and comfortable with a sitting area.
We enjoyed the ease of the location to and from universal studios hollywood and traffic was not bad Late night staff seemed busy he was not very cheerful
Close to where I had to go for some meetings. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but ok and the hours were good. Good, secure parking facilities. Hardly any good eating places in the area. Still using old tv models! Room wasn't ready when we arrived at the door of the room.
Location and price. Starbucks in the lobby. The hotel overall felt old, tired and way overdue for a complete renovation.
I had reserved 5 rooms each with 2 double beds. At checkin I was given 4 rooms each with a King bed & 1 room with 2 double beds. Each room was to accommodate a family of 4. Clearly, 4 people would not fit on 1 King bed. I was offered a rollaway in only 1 of the rooms with a King & told that there were no more rollaways available. Some members of my party could not stay at the hotel & went to stay with local relatives. Shame on Marriott for not honoring the reservations as made!!
The concierge office was good with instructions. Registration was friendly and helpful. When we first arrived and went to our room, they had not made the bed and the pillows were on the chair in the room. The room cleaning staff was not real up to the standard that Marriott offers other places. We found a wet towel on our side table one day, they never replaced the glasses once they were used. They either left them or just did not replace them even though they were gone or dirty. They did not remove used food on plates from the room - Had to place them in the hall for them to get taken. Left things as if they had not finished their job. It seems that the cleaning staff needs to be taught the proper things to do. DO NOT leave rooms unfinished! The concierge lounge was not what it has been at other stays in other areas. They ran out of food each evening. The selection was not at all what it has been other locations. The staff in this area were not very friendly.
The room was comfortable and adequate. It was pretty inexpensive going through an online source. Having said all the negative comments it is tons better than most hotel rooms I have been in. They did not give free wi fi. I tried to use my computer with a wire in the business room and it did not work. The lobby was so noisy that it was impossible to use the computer there even though in the lobby the wi-fi was "free". The parking was like a block away and you had to pay. They were short on amenities. I felt like they were nickel and diming me. The nice view they gave me was rather short on the nice. ,They did not give free wi fi. We liked the comfortable beds and updated room. The hotel had everything we needed - although we didn't have the chance to try much out since we were staying there after a late wedding and left early morning. Valet was overpriced. For the price of the room self-park should at least be free. The room location (318) was level with the gravel top roof building below - unsightly and defeated the purpose of having a balcony.
No ice or vending machines.
Overpriced. Pictures don't reflect the rooms. It's definitely false advertisement
Everything was great... The size, the bathroom, the noise was non-existent, a fridge and microwave.. The check out time is NOT noon as stated on the bill, email, receipt, etc. It is 11am. I even asked when I got there to make sure and was told even by staff that check out is noon. I was out most of the night with my girlfriend and got back around 3am, went to sleep at 4am. I woke up to a phone call from staff at 10:45am that 11am is check out. I checked the receipt and told him it's clearly printed that it's noon. He said "no" that the maids need time to clean the rooms and check out time is always 11am. This is the same guy that when my girlfriend arrived to the hotel before me refused to let her check in (despite both our names were a part of the guests and later got resolved by the next guy's shift. (She sat in her car waiting and the next employee was happy to let her check in and doesn't know why the previous guy didn't.) This is the only experience that I'm really pissed at is that I paid for a given time and that it was abruptly changed without warning. (And through no fault of my own).
Just an ordinary motel - nothing bad but nothing extraordinary good as well. A quiet place and clean bed to sleep - just what I needed. A coffee machine is a pleasant bonus ) Despite the fact that it was the cheapest motel in North Hollywood I could find it's still overpriced - like all accomodation in LA. Wi-fi signal isn't so good.
Neat and spacious room. Parking space was not clean.
Clean and spacious room. Good value for money. Breakfast area was small and options limited.
location see above comments
It was very cozy Staff was very helpful
Even in absence of the reservation, the staff was very helpful and frindly.
nothing Room was dirty, location was terrible, staff was rude except for the young lady in the morning she was okay.
Had to swap rooms 3 times. The rooms were smelly and the non smoking rooms smelled of smoke. It was very noisy
Close to BUR, transport starts at 5:30 AM--but I was bumped to 5:45 despite confirmation, apparently because another traveler had a 5:30 slot. The transportation service is contracted out. The van was there at 5:40. Light traffic for the few miles. Courtesy was everywhere. . Middle of nowhere. Only meal source is a Jack in the Box across a major intersection. Staff told me "restaurants" etc about a mile away at a mall. I walked (car or Uber necessary) about 2/3rd miles and found a local but very good Mexican 50s-60s decor overhead fluorescent bar restaurant specializing in seafood. The selection was great (half dozen fresh oysters on the half shell $16/dozen), hot/cold seafood soups + just fine homemade fare. "Costa Azul."
I did like that my room was ready on time and that it had a view. When I arrived there was a leak in the restroom that they did not fix... I has the same issue with the water leaking from the toilet when I woke up the next morning. Also the morning I checked out the TV did not work and I had to call room service to fix it and reprogram it. The price was not up to par with the type of room I was given.
I like the assistance the hotel provided in helping us plan our trip and visit sights around the area. Our room had a used cot in it when we arrived, but they handled it quickly and moved us to a new room.
I loved the location; close to Universal but also a short drive from Hollywood and Warner Brothers. Walking distance to small restaurants and gas stations. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! And the view from the 20th floor was incredible. The room needs some updating. Dings and marks were visible on the walls and the bathroom showed definite signs of wear.
Arrived with family and Young Children. At midnight had a fire alarm that told us to exit the building via Staircase. We did. carrying 2 children and 20 flights of stairs later. We were told, It was the steam from the kitchen that caused it, go back to the room. 1 am, this gets repeated again. We get told someone was smoking, go back to the room. This happens again. We just go to the staircase with no energy to walk down 20 flights of stairs. We call 45 min. later to find out (false alarm). So next morning - the staff gets approached and we get told oh there was a party on the 21st floor that was using a fog machine. I asked why not have a PA system in the stairs so you can notify the people to not panic or there's a fire on the 2nd floor or anything. They said oh I know.. WTF.. I know. I just left with family never to return to that one again.
The valet parking chaps were efficient and helpful and fresh breakfast was fast and good electronic key had to be changed on 3rd day sd it wasnt programmed for my full stay
The proximity to Universal studios was great. The porter/valet, front desk and concierge were all very friendly.
The public area is very nice Check in was very delayed. No iron in room. No wifi and public computers didn't work properly
5 minutes walking to Universal Studios! Staff was super friendly and the room service was fanastic. Nothing!!!!
Location as it is closed to the Universal studio No water being provided
Close to visit Universal Studios and not far from airport.
Vary close to park and city walk. Vary clean and friendly service.
Location, location and location - that's the only thing positive about this hotel. Otherwise, it is no better than a poor hotel with bad everything - Rooms are aged (badly need remodeling) - Rooms are not kept up and clean (there was mildew buildup around the sink and it was blocked for us) - Service is poor (45 min to get shower cap)
