Pros: What makes a B&B hotel good? Obviously a comfortable bed and a good breakfast; but hotel Garni offers a lot more! Excellent location right on the Danube river, a very clean room, free (and working Wi-Fi) and very friendly owners. Loved it.
Cons: No lunch or dinner options so if one makes it there on a Sunday finding dinner becomes an issue.
Pros: Wonderful hostess, great accommodations and a picturesque area. We are pretty happy we found this hotel. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and in the evenings there is even a self service wine bar.

The town of Melk is so quaint and the hotel is situated right in the heart of the town. There is a beautiful view of the Abbey sitting above the town. The service we received in the restaurant could not be any better. Highly recommend this hotel!
Pros: We loved this hotel and wished we could stay several more nights! This is a family owned hotel and restaurant and we had excellent experiences with the staff while checking in and out and while eating at the restaurant. The room was nicely decorated.

Cons: First night room faced Abbey and was above restaurant. Between Abbey bells going off every quarter hour and restaurant noise plus street noise we barely slept a wink. Asked to be moved next night and 2nd room was in back and quiet. No air conditioning!
