Excellent food and huge wine list. Perfect location and much improved public rooms following renovation.
The ambience, location, food, and service were all first class, and made for a very enjoyable end to a fortrnight's holiday in France
Very friendly staff. The restaurant is very good for dinner. The breakfast is expensive.
Lovely location, gourmet food, attentive service, access to my favourite white Burgundy wine, convenient stop-over en route further south No table d'hote menu at less than eur 52
Great area to stay and explore. Breakfast expensive.
highlight were the meals - all excellent and beautifully served. Ditto wine, variety knowledge of staff etc. no, people who like very good food and wine would enjoy it as the rooms are nice enough but not outstanding, neither is there a pool etc. which some might like. We loved it, excellent couple of days which is probably about right
We recommend to have a dinner at the restaurant. The building where our room was located had no lift. If you carry big and heavy luggages, it can be a problem.
The restaurant with its pleasant staff. Without water in the morning it was not nice to start the day. The hotel did not do anything to compensate for this.
Staff helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and quiet. Hotel good appearnce and location. Furnishings a little tired; believe re-furbishment in progress.
Friendly staff and very good food in a lovely square.
We had the tasting menu which was a great experience. The room was very comfortable.Location fab
The beautiful position. The tasteful rennovation. The luxury - our very large room was extremely well appointed - large towels and tea making equipment (not normally given in even luxury French hotels!). It was airconditioned and was beautifully decorated. The welcome was very warm and all the staff were delightful. The common rooms - sitting room, terrace and dining room are all well decorated and spaious. We had an interesting wine tasting with the English Sommelier, Simon. It is an absolute hidden gem. Only very slight niggle was that we arrived on Sunday afternoon and the hotel was closed. We had to wait for an hour before we were let in. However, the owner was delightful and very apologetic as she had got times mixed up. Otherwise absolutely nothing!
I loved the hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was fantastic, the surroundings were beautiful and peaceful, and we got the chance to taste a sample of the local wines. Overall a wonderful experience which I would highy recommend.
Excellent hotel for a one night stop on the way from South to North of France. Was not able to get into Le Montrachet where I normally stay. This hotel was better and cheaper, with the addition of a wine tasting dinner. Excellent
Incredibly friendly staff all with excellent English. Wine tasting dinner with 15 local wines to try for €50 per head was good value and informative. The room we stayed in was large and well equipped. Lovely hotel!
Very friendly atmosphere, lovely countryside, bedroom very comfortable, great evening dinner and wonderful wine tasting. To be recommended. The only downside was a drain-type smell in the corridor outside our bedroom. However, this was not evident in our actual bedroom, so we didn't mind.
The varied decor (we stayed in 2 uniquely decorated rooms), the bathrooms with a great large soaker tub and rain shower shower, great overall lighting, location (close to Beaune and various wine villages), clean clean clean, TLC (tender loving care was very apparent), friendliness of staff. Sound carries to the bedrooms and it was 11:30 ish before things quieted down.
We came to sample the tasting dinner and it was excellent . Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were given a deelicious light lunch on arrival . The explanation and presentation of the wines at dinner was very well done . There was a nasty smell in the stairway leading to rooms 1 and 2. It seemed like a sewage problem . Placing a wet towel under the door solved the problem .
Young stylish design with extraordinary comfort.
Exceeded our high expectations. Staff (& family) welcoming, efficient, and excellent English speakers. Food and wine superb and in much greater quantities than expected. The tapas menu was almost a full degustation in itself. We will be returning.
location in old historic building. Quiet location, niece views. small rooms with hardly any closet space. Old mattress. I would not recommend the restaurant.
Manager was helpful when radiator in our room wasn't working. Breakfast was good. Evening receptionist didn't want to understand that ,even though her computer said heating was on, we are intelligent enough to know whether or not there is heat!
Very atmospheric hotel in superb location, specially for visiting fabulous cathedral and museum at Autun. Also good secure parking for travellers with loaded cars.
classy, elegant, sevice good!
Nice view and comfortable room Very limited range of choice on restaurant menu, although the food was good, drinks were overpriced and they could not supply a Cafe creme.
Family room for a good price Parking is 7 euros extra per night; Large variation in size and quality of suites for basically same price. If booked through hotels.com you get the smallest and oldest suite it seems
yes excellent hotel though breakfast was poor breakfast poor coffee very bad (for france)
The position in the ancient and picturesque town. The total peace and quiet of the rooms. The restaurant was excellent. The bathroom did not have a shower that you could use standing up!
Location, easy parking, quiet, lovely garden and nice staff. Rooms were average, not much character.
the town of Autun the interior was unattractive
The setting of the hotel in the beautiful old town of Autun near the magnificent cathederal. would love to stay at this hotel again. only the hand held shower ! The junior suite we had was lovely as was the views.
The rooms are extremely comfortable and well-appointed, think recently renovated? We had stayed there before and return in the expectation of an excellent dinner outside on the terrace. We were not disappointed; the meal was up to its usual high standard. Breakfast buffet offers an excellent selection including fresh fruit, muesli and natural yogurt (the last being the indicator to me of a decent hotel).
Excellent restaurant and helpful staff,Pleasant pool with good poolside service None really poolside shower base dirty
Nice hotel with heated pool, garden, outside dining and refreshments. Very godd food, excellent staff.
Pleasant Location & quiete and very good food and restaurant service
Nice country side hotel. A good base for exploring the Burgundy wine road. Pool area is very nice. Breakfast is too expensive.
service was friendly and efficient ie quite fast.We also appreciated the up-dated bedroom and the pool looked very nice but we were too late to benefit!
Restaurant is really excellent, astonishing quality and value for money None
The food was excellentand the service good.Rooms were renovated, comfortable and clean. romms not well sound insulated
Nice garden with pool and outside restaurant the small room with small window at the parking side
very relaxing and comfortable
The staff was extremely nice and helpful! No, everything was great.
an easy option for an overnight stay - good choice of restaurants within a few minutes walking distance
Great ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
really nice garden, good parking
Easy to find from the town center. Bathroom is very clean with good supply of the hot water. simple interior.
Friendly and helpful owners.
location and help with eating out
Pleasant staff, spacious and clean room, secure parking opposite hotel. Noise from creaking floorboards above our room.
Nice old building in a good location. Nice plain breakfast
This was the second time we have stayed here. Very friendly and welcoming. Good value for money with excellent restaurant. Very acomodating with the children althougn generally this hotel is more geared for adults. Had childrens menu
Large family room, cosy atmosphere, excellent restaurant, family owned hotel, good service, free parking on site, excellent location in the middle of the charming village of Meursault. Decent breakfast (compared to French norms)
It was perfectly placed, opposite the church, at the centre of the village, in the same square as three other restaurants, wine shops selling excellent burgundian wines, boulangerie, cafe selling excellent coffee, the tourist information office with obliging staff and the mini-supermarket - etc. It has its own excellent and quite capacious restaurant, which even then sometimes fills up - so booking is advisable. We did book one evening when fairly empty - and the beige carpet suddenly seemed very bland. It has a vast, safe, undercover car park. Charming and obliging owners.
Very friendly and very accommodating owner and staff. It was like being on the film set of Chocolat but real. The food was stunning and the village unbelievable. NONE
Nice location at the centre of a picturesque village. Very clean room. Our room had just been painted and the smell of paint was quite intense. The room had no airconditioning.
The dinner was exceptional. Breakfast could have been better or at least have warm eggs!
The only thing we liked was the building. The Chateau is absolutely beautfiul and has been well restored outside. We thought the hotel was dreadful. There is no proper reception so by mistake I walked straight into the dining room full of diners. The reception is in a sort of cubbyhole. The staff were unhelpful and quite rude. The room was awful, terrible furnishings and the beds were appalling. The noise from the very busy main road into Dijon went on all night. Breakfast was really poor for 15 euros. The swimmingpool was dirty. The whole experience was extremly bad.
Here is closed in winter season normaly. That day was opend for win festival at this region. Nothing any special problems. One things, litle bit far to outside restaurant.
Staff spoke English willingly.
Attentive personnel and a gigantic wonderful park right on the grounds No elevator.... But this wasn't a huge problem because I didn't have much luggage.
Nice circumstance, reasonable price.
shampoo. There is no shampoo provided by the hotel. I use to expect one in this kind of hotel
I liked very much the style of the hotel, the restaurant is very good. A very good value for money Poor english knowledge, Bathroom to be refurbished (tile on the floor broken, no airdryer
many restaurants in the near of the hotel bathroom and toilette are not realy new
Very quiet, comfortable bed
Good Breakfast and great to be so close to a lovely park however . . . Beware some rooms are very smoky and we weren't able to change to another.
The maitre d' is wonderful. The food was very good. And although the outside temperature was below freezing, the whole hotel was properly heated. Our night receptionist, although charming, needed a hairbrush and a smarter jacket.
The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Helped to organise restaurant reservations, bike hire etc. They didn't at all mind our very poor French and were very happy to speak English.
The high quality and decoration of the rooms. The location with parking, the grounds and swimming pool. The breakfast and staff
Exceptionally welcoming and helpful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful antique furniture. Great bathroom goodies and thick, soft towels. Highly recommended.
lovely experience, definitely looking forward to next visit
A very attractive old building with secure car parking, pretty gardens and a swimming pool. Friendly service.
Extremely nice owners who gave excellent advice and made restaurant reservations for us. Secure free parking. Attractive old building with nice garden. Lovely village Room and bathroom were in desperate need of refurbishment. Bed was creaky and uncomfortable.
Period fertures in the room, lovely coutyard and garden area. Staff very helpful, and spoke English Squeeky bed
Convenience, parking, location
An excellent location in the centre of the Burgundy wine area and good as a base for visiting the area. Very quiet location yet close to the centre of the village of Meursault, with resaurants, cafes etc. Friendly and helpful owners/staff.
the village location was lovely the bathroom wasn't very nice with some broken fittings.
Very good value for money. The beds are a bit old.
Comfortable room. Good location in town. Good breakfast.
Quiet, centrally located, cheap
Traditional but modernised French family-run hotel. Quiet and restful despite town centre location. No
lovely and clean place with friendly reception in the middle of a small and charming town with garden and private parking
Friendly staff, reasonnable price Wifi was weak in my room, but strong in the lobby
a very pleasant oasis in the town centre with a vinyard garden ! friendly and clean.
The hotel was centrally placed in the town but in a quiet area with plenty of parking. The garden area was very pretty.
Ideally placed, short walk to village and restaurants None
simplicity of entry arrangements
Location. The room was reasonably clean, but in the toilet there was someone's poo. This is not acceptable. Also sewage smell from the bath room was not pleasent at all. Not too bad place for budget travelers if you are prepared to put up with some discomfort or if you stay at hotel only to sleep.
The fact that it was an old railway hotel and pretty central to the town centre. The bathroom was nice. The long walk to our room. The lack of pillows. The lack of tea making facilities
Clean, comfortable standard hotel. It offers us what we needed: rest after long way, clean bathroom, silence in the night.
The hotel offered reasonable facilities in a location on the edge of town. A little bit noisy with noise from the street.
Position, room When we arrived the receptionist was on the telephone having what appeared to be a private conversation. We were kept waiting for around five minutes before he was able to acknowledge us.
Quaint atmosphere, most unusual toilet! Good restaurant in hotel next door.
It is directly across from the train station, the perfect location. There is no elevator, the only drawback. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant hotel, not deluxe, but a large, comfortable room. The owners are very helpful and friendly. I would go back. There is no elevator. Luckily, I was on the second floor, and not higher. The receptionist carried my suitcase up stairs, however.
we were on our way to germany and it was a convinient place to stay.
The linen was clean and comfortable enough. Most of the staff was patient about having to open the door for me every time I returned to the room. It was tricky to pull the door in and somehow turn the key to the left... I had a hard time with it. I wanted a glass of red wine with dinner, the first night. They had only one bottle which had been opened already and stored cold. The temperature was shocking and it was pretty difficult to swallow. The next night I brought my own bottle and they were nice about lending me a corkscrew and a glass and bread to go with the cheese I ate in the room.
pleasant situation unwelcoming staff, smell of damp masked by room freshener in room, tinned vegetables at meal, poor service in restaurant by dour member of staff. We stayed in a number of hotels from different groups during our holiday and only found Ibis disappointing. Would certainly not use Ibis again. This hotel was run down and shabby. Seemed uncared for.
Hotel was easy to find, room was clean and comfortable
Big parking place close to the hotel. Hotel in a quiet environment but close to city center. None
clean and comfortable with easy access from routes into town yet the town also very accessible no
Only used it as an overnight stop
kitchen was closed after 22.00 hours
We were surprised that a fairly simple meal like croque- monsieur was not available when we needed something on our arrival. It was advertised on your menu. I would not have bothered to write but since you ask .......
Was a basic hotel. Rooms were cleaned every night. That was no fridge.
Everthing about this hotel is good. None
Brilliant - recommend it to anyone. Luxury in the vinyards. Very peaceful. Loved the breakfasts! not applicable
We thought the breakfast was absolutely fabulous, the choice was huge. We've stayed in five star hotels, but this was the best breakfast. The hotel was charming and the owner just terrific. The hotel was presented in a delightful way and was absolutely spotless. The attention to detail was excellent.I would definately stay there again. To be honest we only stayed one night and there was nothing that I did not like.
This hotel was situated in the beautiful region of Burgundy and was an overnight stop for us before travelling on to the French Riviera. We were welcomed by the owner on arival who gave us tea and homemade biscuits, she then managed to book a table for us in a lovely restaurant as we arrived later than anticipated and most places were fully booked - our room was perfect and we would definitely stay there again, but longer next time to explore the surrounding wine region/countryside etc., NO
A charming hotel set alongside vineyards on the outskirts of Pugligny-Montrachet. We had a spacious and comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the hotel garden and vineyards. The room had good storage for clothes and enough space to tuck suitcases out of the way. The bathroom was also spacious and elegant, shower over the bath and reasonable space on the vanity to lay out our toiletries. Although not air-conditioned, the room was equipped with a fan that kept us cool enough on the very hot nights. The breakfasts were amazing, with tasty treats changing every day, and wonderful coffee. This hotel is something special and is amazing value for money! Tight parking spaces, especially when other inconsiderate drivers park hard against your drivers door!
Suzanne, the owner took a lot of pride in her B&B. It was top quality and she did little things that made it great to come back to. Wonderful breakfast. none
breakfast was a highlight.
A spacious well equiped room in a quiet hotel; friendly staff; copious healthy breakfast; in the middle of the vineyard and close to great restaurants, Le Montrachet and others
The welcome was charming with fresh tea, fruit and biscuits. The rooms spacious, beds and linen comfortable and bathrooms clean and well equipped. Small patio area outside each of our bedrooms. We dined at Le Montrachet a hotel in the village, which our hostess reserved for us. The food was delicious and they catered fabulously for our children. Breakfast was good with fruit, bread, pastries and homemade jams.
The furnishing of the interior was very warm. The room was well equipped, even if not huge. A pity the lack of bidet, unfortunately too rare in france. The town was nice, the area is wonderful. The owner was kind. Breakfast nice. There is not such a wonderful landscape from the house. The rooms face on a small road, not noisy to say the truth but this was a bit disappointing. Anyway the overall flavour of the place is "romantic".
The staff were friendly, the location was right across from the train station and walking distance to the main area of the town. As well, parking was free and locked up at night. The room's were small, but clean quiet.
everything about our stay was excellent - from a warm welcome with queries quickly answered to attentive and helpful staff at meal times and excellent food.Breakfast was somewhat spartan but still worth the 5 Euros we paid.
