10.0 Excellent
Pros: The idea of the self help breakfast was great, but I overslept in the comfy bed and did not have time to cook from the range of eggs, toast and drinks. Fab idea. The place was intriguing, as part of a live car parts business, a real must for anyone with an interest in sports cars. The smell in the part area took me back to being 6 or 7 working with my dad!. The cleanliness of all of the individually decorated rooms was incredible! So much effort gone in to everything...and a lovely touch of some toffees and biscuits to have with a night time coffee!
Cons: Nothing really! Seriously!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: None
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Melvyn greeted me and spent time showing me around - it is fantastic!. We loved the 'diner' based on Ace Cafe - loved the details, great that we could help ourselves to breakfast - loved the flexibility - the fact we could bring our own food and cook. We loved looking around the cars. We will be back to try out another room and hire a car for the day. It was perfect!
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like about our stay - we had the place to ourselves (which was perfect) but wondered how it might have worked out if it had been full.
6.0 Good
Pros: Quirky ! Extremely well done!
Cons: Lack of Digital TV (Free View) and Wireless broadband
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything at the Pit Stop. Good, off street parking. Very good hosts. Excellent accommodation and very good Breakfast food. The Pit Stop deserves to be included in anyone's holiday itinerary. It is more than a B&B and it is of a very high standard. The American DIner is wonderful and don't let the self service breakfast put you off from staying here Melvyn and Sindy have everything you need in their diner to feed hungry guests. Not only do you get to stay in luxury accommodation for a reasonable cost you also get to look around the beautiful cars stored there. The Pit Stop B&B is near enough London and next to Standsted Airport. Car enthusiasts should make sure to stay here and even if you do not have a passion for cars, like my w

Pros: The generous size of the room. The theme/decor was fantastic. The justly proud, friendly and casual yet reassuring style of the management was welcoming. The self help, excellent choice and well presented food/style for breakfast was above expectations. The diner, (as well as our room), is stunning.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very high quality accommodation with luxurious breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice room. Breakfast was continental and nice.
Cons: B&B was on flight path into Stansted which we did know beforehand
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quirky thatched B&B cottage in rural Essex. The room although small was perfect for our one night stay. The bathroom was clean and tidy with an electric shower. The cottage is on the flight path of Stanstead Airport and on our nights stay planes were taking off every few minutes. Being a geek though I loved it and my Flight Radar app got a good beating. It wasn't overly noisy though as the aircraft were about 2,000 feet up as they passed over the cottage. We weren't kept awake by flights even though apparently the airport operates 24x7. Free guest WiFi was an unexpected bonus.
Cons: I, surprisingly for me, have no negative comments to make.

Pros: Room is spacious and comfortable. Continental breakfast was superb, wife variety of choices. Julie is fantastic and very reliable (she arranged for our very early taxi pickup).

Pros: Near to Stansted Airport, Good for parking
Cons: No English Breakfast , a good fry up to start the day, Stayed in room 2, wanted a early night 10pm ish, But could not get to sleep till about 3am as every time the people in the other room used the toilet and the cistern was filling up you could hear the pipe vibrating right through the room, Need to get a Plumber to sort it,!!!!! Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming owner, beautiful, quiet setting & spotlessly clean. More like staying with friends than most local establishments - units that are separate from the main house are lovely & facilities such as the TV lounge & washing machine are nice extras.
Cons: Lack of full English may bother some but the continental was adequate for us. Some cheese & ham would be a nice addition but it may be available if you ask!
9.6 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy, owners very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: extremely comfy, spotlessly clean, very close to stansted airport aswell. had issues with my booking, but they did everything to fix this as quickly as they could.
Cons: the road down to the b&b could do with a bit of tlc.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hosts are very friendly. The breakfast was good and I liked the big shared table. The bed was comfy except for the pillows. The shower was fabulous.
Cons: The description on booking.com does not say that the breakfast included is continental. There were planes flying low overhead for a lot of the time, but the room was well insulated and they did not disturb us. I would prefer to have fresh milk in the fridge in the room and no plastic water bottles. You could provide jars of tea, coffee and sugar instead of sachets, all in the interests of being more eco friendly. The bathroom could be improved by a stool and lots more hooks to put clothes on, and more towel rails to dry towels. The view out of the patio door is a hedge. I did not look behind it so don't know if it could be removed. The pillows were too hard for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I opted just for the continental breakfast as included in the room rate and it was excellent and more than adequate in quantity. I liked the arrangement of the communal dining table.
Cons: A small soap tray in the shower would be useful.

Heather made sure I had everything I needed, dropped me at the station on departure day, organised a bike for me to rent and lots more; Train station walkable distance; shops and pub also.
Cons: As advertised, note the shared bathroom. But wasn't any issue as I mostly had it for myself and it was always clean & accessible. Advice: If you want your own bathroom there's also the possibility of renting the annex with ensuite!

Cons: the downside was the terrible aircraft noise & no double glazing - planes every hour all night long and every 15 minutes from 6 am& a very hard bed indeed - rock hard.A strange breakfast affair with all manner of sweet goods still in packets and wrappers in a breakfast room with self service and kettle and crockery

7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and beds comfortable, the host was friendly and the location was quiet.
Cons: Having to change room because of broken leg on the bed,, having to ask for a bulb for the lamp. I would have expected the rooms to be checked before guests arriving! Had no complaint about anything else, and the problems where resolved. But we had been travelling all day and just wanted to settle in,without any fuss.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful.bed was comfy, room was warm and clean.lots of tea coffee etc.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was very good for us to get to Stansted for our flights. The cats are sweet.
Cons: The decor was in need of a freshen up and the bathroom was very small, with mouldy smell, then noticed mould on the wall by the shower. Shower on off tap was really hard to turn with wet hands. No clear direction as to when breakfast was coming? My husband and I went into Bishops Stortford for breakfast.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The bed was very hard I could hear Cockrells and chickens at 5:30 this morning and I’ve got now long time to waste on this review
Cons: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything it was clean beds very comfortable staff friendly and helpful .
Cons: Everything was perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Willows is situated down a country lane surrounded by lovely countryside with just a few other houses nearby. Accommodation is in small cabins in the grounds, each with a pleasant outdoor table and chairs. As each cabin has its own key, there is no problem with arrival times. (We were not flying, just visiting friends nearby, so cannot comment on the ease of getting to and from the airport.) The beds were comfortable but some better pillows and a flat sheet would have made for a more comfortable night as the duvets made us too hot.
Cons: Pillows supplied on the beds were very thin and we only found a bundle of extra pillows and bedding when we were packing to leave - our fault, of course, but it would have been good if someone had pointed out that the untidy bundles under a shelf were actually useful! The décor is, at best, serviceable so don't expect anything smart. The shower was only lukewarm no matter how often we fiddled with the controls. The delivery of breakfast and loud voices from the neighbouring cabin woke us in the morning.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Clean and quiet room
Cons: Bigger TV.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very near to Stansted Airport. No aircraft noise and quiet location. Continental breakfast more than adequate.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a water main burst in close proximatey to The Willows which had the obvious outcome - no water!! (Not the fault of the owners!)
7.3 Good
Pros: People are very friendly and nice, the room is warmly decorated and very neat and tidy. The bathroom is nice too, it has a good shower.
Cons: they only make transfers from the guest house to the stansted airport, but not the other way round, so it costs about 7 pounds to get from stansted airport to there.

Pros: A little sanctuary close to the airport. Attention to detail...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good location close to airport, nice room, good transfer service to airport

7.0 Good
Pros: Close to.my son house
Cons: Close to.my son's house
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good space, good faciliites
Cons: Bed was far too bouncy and not very comfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom were spotless and in good order. I liked the decor. The room was quiet. The bed/pillow etc was comfortable and I slept well. I was given a front door key so I could come and go as I pleased. An iron and ironing board were readily available without my having to ask - as was a hairdryer.
Cons: The basin tap in the bathroom was a little stiff! A slightly scruffy roadside sign indicating when one had arrived - I missed the place on first pass!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good . Food in local pub seemed expensive until it was served, good quality well presented and good quantity. So the price was right.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly, room was very big, clean and had everything one would need. Good location.
Cons: Bed was a bit too firm for me.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was v clean, bed v comfortable. The outside as far as entrance is concerned, needs better curb appeal. When we pulled in, we thy it was going to b grotty. So a little more time & effort spent on entrance, would make a big difference.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Over for a car show so needed somewhere to sleep and safely park the car, didn't need breakfast as had to leave too early for that so Good Intent rooms was an ideal choice. Tony is a very welcoming host, the whole place is spotless and quiet. The local pub/restaurant is an easy walk with good home cooked food and decent beer.
Cons: My only possible comment is that the bed was a little soft for me. This is personal preference and would certainly not stop me from coming back for a longer stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location - near to London but without the crowds, people etc.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Great alternative to a horrible chain hotel and twice as clean.

Cons: Courtesy bus to the terminal would be good especially when it is raining
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent, the lovely thick towels in the bathroom are gorgeous and the food in the hotel is very good, we had a late arrival at the hotel but we were still able to get something to eat at a very reasonable price.
Cons: Nothing to complain about at all.

Cons: Was a little on the expensive side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s great that breakfast was available from 4am and a great choice too
Cons: It would have been good to know that there was parking at the hotel that we could have booked rather than other airport parking
7.5 Good
Pros: Great breakfast ...great location right next to the airport. a;though building works in the terminal made access a pain.
Cons: We stayed 2 nights as were attending a wedding nearby. The hotel seemed to overlook this and our room was not made up before the second night. This spoilt our stay a great deal and would make me reconsider using this brand again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything ,can't fault it.
Cons: Excellent staff, food, room and very handy to the terminal.
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and easy self check in, lovely rooms with comfy beds and smart TVs! Didn’t have a chance to meet the staff but it had a lovely homey feel with a breakfast to help yourself to :)
Cons: Shower could have been fixed, but nice pressure and temp just needed quick fix onto the wall
1.0 Poor
Cons: Distance on the middle no where no taxis
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice staff, warm rooms and great breakfast and snacks offering.
Cons: The beds could be more comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple, clean, does the basics well and keeps the price down.
Cons: A little bit out of the way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money, lovely lady looking after the house couldn't do enough for people. I would highly recommend this for a stopover when using Stanstead. Breakfast was as you would expect in any European establishment, fresh cakes baked and left out for the guests.
Cons: Nothing.
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely hosts. the room was clean and pleasant and the hosts were extremely kind.
Cons: I chose the guesthouse for its affordability close to the airport. Unfortunately due to traffic diversions, which the taxi driver tells me are frequent it actually takes 25 minutes each way to the airport at a cost of £20 each way. It would therefore have been better for me to have paid £90 for a hotel right near the airport, rather than an ordinary guesthouse far away. I also have a nylon allergy so the bedspread gave me a rash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely warm and friendly staff, very helpful and efficient! Would definitely recommend
5.4 Okay
Pros: The pub up the road.
Cons: Room was very basic, bedding was very old style, no bed side tables to allow you to put water cup/tea cup onto over night. Was noisy as people come and go during the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Owners we very friendly and were very welcoming. The establishment was very clean and comfortable as was the room.
Cons: When booking I was advised that breakfast was included in the tariff. On arrival we were advised that the breakfast included is only a continental breakfast and would have to pay for a cooked breakfast. In addition, the continental breakfast was only cereal, toast and coffee, not a traditional continental breakfast, which was a little disappointing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I had to stay close to the airport to get up REALLY early in the morning. I have stayed here once before and it is friendly and the check in is so easy. There are rules and times about what time you can check in and luckily that all worked out for when I wanted to arrive. My room was big and faced the back garden with windows on two sides. I actually think there was only one other room occupied when I was there and it was lovely and quiet! It is a lovely guest house with a garden outside. I walked 15 minutes to The Three Willows for dinner (lovely food and great service). I also went for a run in the fields closeby. You would never know that Stansted is only a couple of miles away. I can't comment on taxis/buses as I was dropped off and picked up so for me this was perfect. Sadly, I left too early for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, the bed comfy and a good shower. All you need. The hostess accommodated my need to an early check-in due to a slightly different work requirement on the day of arrival, and was very pleasant and welcoming. The house is a beautiful historic residence with lovely grounds in a lovely area. Handy for Stansted Airport too, should you need it. Cannot recommend enough.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building in a nice residential area, well tended property including gardens. Guesthouse was spotless, quiet and peaceful. Continental breakfast was good - fruit, yoghurt, muesli, cereals, toast and coffee/tea. The one member of staff I met was efficient, polite and business-like. A delayed flight meant that I overshot my arrival time and I received a text from the guest house informing me of the latest check-in time, which reassured me as it gave me an hour and a half leeway.
Cons: Couldn't have found the place if it weren't for the satnav in my car - and even that needed two goes. Maybe some more detailed directions to the property would help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful I was also given a free upgrade (not requested)
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful property and spacious comfortable room and bed Lovely gardens
Cons: Further out than indicated online and I had no car so quite a trek from bus stop Tiny shower cubicle and no bath - more like a converted cupboard Disappointing breakfast - was looking forward to continental expecting continental = no croissants or pastries in sight or cold meats just cereal and toast and juice which was ok....ended up looking longingly at fellow guest's lovely cooked breakfast!! No option to have this given Another trek up to bus stop to leave village - my problem I know as not driving but booked another stay closer to airport next night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The orner was very kind and helpful. The House and graden Werge besutiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really like this place. An oasis of peace & quiet that's very convenient for Stansted. Interesting historic building and very friendly hosts. I've stayed here multiple times and expect to keep returning.
7.5 Good
Pros: there were far too few tea bags: really stingy. And no hot chocolate. Needless, footling economies
Cons: see above

Pros: The location was perfect. The breakfast was excellent and the owner was very welcoming and attentive. It was a very enjoyable stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and grounds, very quiet, very well maintained, excellent breakfast and very nice staff. All told an excellent place to stay.
Cons: The suite that we stayed in had 2 bathrooms but the quality of the showers left a lot to be desired, in fact one could not call them showers as the water had no pressure and just dribbled. When mentioning this to the staff we were told that these rooms were next to be upgraded to power showers. This was the only downside that we found in what is a beautiful and well run hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, Lovely grounds.
Cons: Shower/bath, "thin walls" could hear all the movements of my neighbours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed.
Cons: I had room 4 in the courtyard to start with but there was no water pressure in the shower so they kindly moved me to a much nicer room in the house that had a nice bathroon with powerful shower.
6.7 Good
Pros: Appearance of the main house, professional greeting upon arrival, and personal accompaniment to my room. Professional greeting upon checkout. Good close parking. Idyllic setting.
Cons: Stable rooms are tiny. The base of my bed was made of other bed parts one of which was a different height to the others, so not a flat bed. ‘Mattress’ was a piece of foam that compressed to almost nothing once weight is applied. Biggest issue: there is NO noise reduction from anywhere. I can understand each word of conversations between people walking past outside. I can hear light switches and power sockets being clicked on and off in the room next door, and their conversations. When the room next door ran a bath / used a water tap - oh, the noise of the water pipes! I didn’t get much sleep during my one night stay. No check of ‘was your stay ok?’ upon checkout. Maybe rooms in the main house are better and quieter. Stable rooms are not good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Cumftable & cosy
Cons: Low water presure
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was limited to the basics like full English, porridge, toast but no granola, berries or similar. My wife was very disappointed. However, having breakfast in the lovely morning room with lovely views was a real bonus. The staff as a whole were polite prompt and efficient.
Cons: Our very small accommodation was disappointing and inadequate in size being very cramped with very little room to move, the bed dominating the room without a separate chair to sit in. The en-suite had a sliding door which was not correctly secured and flapped freely about when moved, impacting on privacy for those using the toilet or shower and therefore dangerous. The toilet roll holder was loose on the wall and the roll itself came away from the holder continually with only light pressure. The shower was wholly inadequate and unsatisfactory for a refreshing shower in the morning (or evening). Sadly the entrance door was also stiff to open with a visible gap to one side, not good in the winter months. The overall impression the above gave; is of a potentially 5 star hotel with wonderful gardens and superb staff being run as cheaply as possible and certainly on a `shoestring`. The proprietors will need to work harder to meet the expectations of their clientele in these modern times with adequate and fit for use facilities if this hotel is to flourish and gain more stars but our own experience of our allocated accommodation really disappointed us and reminiscent of a rabbit hutch. I will stress that as retired professionals, we are not serial complainers, hair splitters or `nit pickers`; indeed very flexible but Mulberry House should really go back to the drawing board in relation to our valid and requested feedback on our stay take notice and act upon it. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent.
Cons: The TV in the room had no remote, so was stuck on BBC1 all night. The shower in the bath was only a trickle.
7.5 Good
Pros: have stayed there several times before so knew what to expect. It is of course some way from Chelmsford - more like Ongar. Handsome house and very nice grounds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a problem with the neighbouring couple. They went at it like a pair of rabbits from 7pm and I finally gave up at 8.30pm and went to reception to request a room change. I could literally hear everything they were doing and felt like knocking on the door to offer assistance. It all got too much when she told him to spank her and all I could hear was the sound of a slapped backside with various accompanying comments of “oh yes”, “harder” and “right there!” When I went to reception to explain, I was moved immediately and given a room upgrade which was a well received gesture.
Cons: The courtyard properties are quite close together and it sounded like a steam train pulling into the station at various points due to the couples amorous adventures next door.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous grounds and staff were smashing
Cons: Rooms in the annex are a tad dated

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Des was the perfect host - a really lovely guy! The beds were so comfy and everything was very clean!!
7.1 Good
Pros: The bed was really comfy - great mattress. Our host, Des was charming and friendly. The breakfast was good.
Cons: The room was fairly small, the en suite was very small. Des warned us that we needed to push the shower doors closed hard, but I guess he had never actually used that shower - I had to shower standing on one leg with my foot against the door to keep it closed! The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, making it very uncomfortable to sit on. The biscuits in the room were very ordinary/cheap.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Des was so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The garden was beautiful and the free continental breakfast was lovely. I especially like that it is all self service. There was also plenty of parking for our car and trailer.
Cons: It would be helpful if there was a clearer sign directing you into the B&B from the M25 end.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful home, great location after an evening flight. Very friendly and accomodating family. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower water temp couldn't find warm- had to keep alternating hot and cold
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was super-friendly and very accommodating: after checking in, we had to go out for quite a while, and we were unable to be back until quite late. The host waited up for us. Next morning when we left we accidentally left a coat behind, and only noticed a couple of hour s later. The host made light work of sorting it out even though she was not there. Very helpful!
Cons: Room is quite small and the bathroom, though big enough, is also quite small. The on-site parking is quite tight, but there is ample parking on the verge across the way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly, ideally situated for my early flight from Stansted.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy bed, nice breakfast, TV and hairdryer
Cons: Hard to find thing to turn shower on. Then it was a bit too hot!

Pros: Very near to the airport but not on flight path, easy access to airport taxi but on main bus route to airport . The property was cosy and owners very welcoming with great customer skills . I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others . 10/10 I would rate my stay here .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The land lady is lovely. Perfect location for the airport.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful owner Option of long-stay parking Good facilities Close to airport; good transport links Good breakfast (personal order taken), fresh fruit available
Cons: Just mind your head on the low beams if you are tall like me :-)
5.0 Okay
Pros: This facility is close to the airport and the host offers to take you there by her car, if you need to, which is practical and we were happy to accept. She is also interesting to talk to and her family history is fascinating. The room was decent.
Cons: We were surprised by how connected we were with the family, you have to go through the dining room every time you go somewhere. We rather stayed in the room. Also you can hear the family talking and any movement from the other rooms which are very close. It looked like if there was another guess, we would have to share the bathroom with them. Luckily, we were the only guests there for our stay. It is a decent accommodation for a one night but England generally has very different standards for hotels and B&Bs. What is considered a 3 star in England, is actually a 1 star in Canada and a 2 star in Czech or Spain, for example.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy and lovely cottage, with a bus stop located just outside the cottage. We had a very nice breakfast prepared personally by the host herself which includes a wonderful spread of bread, cereals, toast and cooked eggs and bacon. Thank you Carol and I hope your cough is better.
Cons: As I arrived pretty late in the night, the only way accessible to the property is by cab.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really tasty and the owner was a really friendly lady and would do anything for you. We had a parking space there too. The bed was very comfy

Pros: Beautiful settings Nice and homely
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely communal bathroom with large bath
Cons: When we arrived on a Wednesday at around 5pm there was no one to meet us and the door was locked; we’d received an email from booking.com with a message saying call thirty mins before but it was among several confirmation/reminder emails we received from the website (plus juggling emails about flight details etc) so we missed it. When we called the host he seemed irate, implying we should check our emails more clearly. They did send someone along to open up the place within 10-15 mins after that. If that’s the policy of the B and B it needs to be more clearly communicated by the booking website or directly by the hosts. But it seems an odd policy for a B and B to not always have an open reception, more in line with a less formal air B and B.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Lovely hosts.
Cons: Mattresses on 2 additional beds not so good for adults.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. John and Marie were very accommodating.
Cons: We were in the green room, which has the tiniest shower. Not good for a tall person, especially if you drop the soap! The basin in the cloakroom has no plug, making it difficult to shave. The windows not open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant hosts in a beautiful property & superb rooms. Breakfast on the lawn was lovely, couldn't ask for a better place to stay, just a shame we didn't get to visit the pub.

Cons: Mattress was a bit lumpy. Could hear the traffic noise whilst in bed.

Pros: Great size room and shower. Really relaxed environment.
Cons: Nothing really. I would have preferred cheese and pastry's for breakfast over a fry up but it wasn't offered to us. Fry up was really good and the quality of the meat was superb.
