big rooms, espeically the room for 4 was good. Good exposure
Nice view of the river from the room. Large TV in room. Good bathroom. Air conditioning didn't work. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
Fantastic value for money. There are few places to stay in Sort and this appears to be the best all round. The restaurant is also extremely good value. This is definitely a location for a base to go canoeing, rafting etc as opposed to a luxury holiday though. Interesting stop over in the pyrenees as this is real spain due to the low volume of tourists,
The room was spacious, bathroom was ok. Very impersonal, bare minimum comfort and decoration. Not handicapped accessible.
the bed was of a very good quality. The third bed was in the same room, but there was a wall in between: a very good idea not really: the food in the restaurant wasn't that good. Breakfast was ok. We would recommend this hotel for a few days but not for more.
For me, the best is location and the surroundings, together with service and organization, in general Room clening and food would be notably improved
A perfect value for money. Excellent location, comfortable stay, tasty meals, clean rooms, pleasant staff. A smell of cigarettes in the non-smoking room...
good location, good price
the hotel is very old the W.C stinky the food is minimal
A budget hotel with facilities for sports and children. We only chose this hotel because of its position on our touring holiday. A large busy hotel with tired furnishings and decor. The room was small, without a balcony and the airconditioning was not adequate. But overall the worst experience of our one night stay was the evening meal that was included in the price. It was unappetising and some of the food inedibe. The hot food looked like it had been left for a long time. The dining room was very dated and depressing, like eating in a cheap canteen. Would have rather found a meal in one of the local bars. The breakfast was a little better, with bread to toast and some hot food. Although the cold chips were disgusting.
There are good facilities for keeping children occupied.
Excellent hotel - great facilities for children (all free of charge). Room could have been a little larger but was clean and and fresh and the air condition was good. Food was better than we expected (even had roast potatoes one night!) We left early (before breakfast was served) for our flight home and the receptionist opened the cafe to make us coffees and gave us a (pre-ordered) picnic (& drinks) for the journey home - which again was surprisingly good. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
most problems in communicating with the stuf- u can do nothing if they do not speek English !
The silence ,wild nature, pools&fountains, wood&stone combined... Nobody!!! is speaking english!!!! accept one lady in the reception!!! .even the menu was in spanish.we cuodnt understand what to order.terrible!
The cleanliness of the rooms, and the setting. We thought the quality of the food and the service in the restaurant was only fair.
Incredibly beautiful location for a 5 star hotel. Very comfortable and ideal setting. You can literally open all your windows and hear the stream nearby and cowbells in the distance. I know that sounds cheesy but it was really amazing. Also breakfast was rather incredible. Mmmm jamon. My words can't do the location justice. So beautiful.
The people that work on the place where really nice, so the service was excelent... plus is located in a beatiful place to go and rest.
Hostal Pey is very clean and comfortable, with new facilities and a good location 1 minute walk from the Boi taxi stand for the National Park Aiguestortes. The management is very friendly.,Hostal Pey is very clean and comfortable, with new facilities and a good location 1 minute walk from the taxi stand for the National Park Aiguestortes. The management is very friendly. The wifi works in the lobby, but not in individual rooms. It would be helpful if they installed wifi routers to reach the guest rooms.
Gorgeous location in a quaint tiny (!) village in the Pyrenees. Extremely close to Aigustortes National Park. The staff is very helpful and the restaurant had very good food for dinner, even including vegetables from their own garden. There is no air conditioning, and the hotel does not have electric fans to borrow. To combat the heat (stayed in early July), we slept with the window open and were then bothered all night by flies (no screens or bug nets) and noise from outside.
Location in a beautiful small village next to a Romaesque church and surrounded by mountains. The bed was a little hard.
We were excited as one of the best world-heritage Romanesque churches was just next to this hotel! Bathroom decoration was posh and stylish. And the dinner at the restaurant was excellent too! Staffs at reception and restaurant were all friendly and helpful. Nothing
Not much to add to all the other reviews: very good hotel, nice room with beautiful bathroom, great food, very friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere we had not seen yet in the rest of Catalunya. The town and the other towns in the valley seem to come from an open-air-museum and the views are amazing. We had a beautiful walk through the national park on recommendation by one of the hotel staff.
Our host was excellent, assisting us with recommendations for hikes, translating the menu into English, and assisting us with telephoning home. We had the best meals in two weeks in Spain - rich lasagne with Bechemel sauce (no calories!), house salad with lettuce straight from their garden, savoury rabbit cassoulet, and hot smooth carrot soup, not to forget the amazing cheesecake. Thankfully, we had two excellent hikes to wear this all off.
excellent food for a fair price, breakfast, lunch, dinner the very nice pools an dpool area, need better maintainance
We liked the hotel very much, breakfast was splendid, location also very nice, we found it easily at night. And I have the feeling that there was a monastery before, it really had something of it. Sound isolation was not very good, and we heard people walking above us in the evening.
small spanish town location made it very interesting overnight stop in a beautiful region
Good town central location, secure undercover parking and good dining facilities.
The hotel was in the cetre of the village and accessible for all the limited amenities The pool was in an adjacent building .
The hotel itself is pleasant - it is an old house which has been converted into small rooms - and its period charm was lovely. One of the members of staff we dealt with was great; really polite, friendly and smiley. Upon arrival, we were met by a very surly woman who could barely muster a smile. Despite the entire hotel being empty, we were placed in a room on the 1st floor, overlooking a dark gloomy street. When we asked whether it would be possible to change rooms, we were told that we would have to pay a higher price that the one we had opted to pay via booking.com - even though we had already booked the best room class, according to booking.com! Agreeing to this, we were then made to wait 30 mins whilst the floor dried, before Ms. Grumpy allowed us to move into another room on the same floor. We would have preferred to have been in a room higher up in the building, for the views, and to escape the traffic noise on the busy in-road to the town.
The hotel is in the old part of town overlooking a little square and our room had distant views of the nearby lake and hills. The building itself has lots of character, the (superior) bedroom was minimalist with a lovely little balcony and modern bathroom. The lady on reception was helpful and spoke good English. The only real fault I could find is that at the time of our stay, we could not have breakfast at the hotel (I think there was a problem with the kitchen?...as there was a nice little breakfast room downstairs). We were told to go to a bar five minutes walk away, which when we arrived was nealy full and was quite smokey. A nice hotel but a bit pricey for what you get compared to other places we stayed at in Catalonia especially as Pobla is not really a very touristy town.
Friendliness of staff quite basic, but fine
