Pros: It is an amazing and interesting place. Immaculate and beautifully decorated. It has a pretty garden, provides a superb breakfast and the host is wonderful. Easy free on-street parking.
Pros: The room the food the hospitality and the lovely house inside.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Pros: Beautiful house, furnished with interesting and varied pieces collected by the owners. Very large, comfortable room with a king size bed and two armchairs. Very well appointed shower room. Breakfast was delicious, served in a delightful dining room. We declined the offer of eggs and enjoyed a traditional French breakfast with locally made yogurt and homemade jams. Excellent bread and croissants. We were warmly greeted by the host and offered an aperitif, a specialty of the area. Having discussed local restaurants, the host rang to book a table for us.
Cons: We liked everything and would definitely return if we were in the area, though we didn’t find a hair dryer.
Pros: We received an extremely warm welcome from Alice & Philippe, who are charming hosts. They are very proud of their delightful house & made us feel totally at home. The breakfasts were delicious - the highlights being the freshly laid eggs, beautiful bread & home made jams. The large bedroom was very comfortable & it has the benefit of an excellent en-suite with large shower. St Jean itself is within walking distance & is an interesting & historic town.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
Pros: The property was exceptional. We've never stayed anywhere quite as unique and interesting and would definetly recommend it. The owners are very hospitable and charming.
Pros: Stunning house, and a stunning welcome from Alice and Philippe. They welcomed us with a drink and a chat, and really seemed to enjoy having us there. It was more like visiting a favourite aunt and uncle! The house is full of interesting knick-knacks. The room was enormous and beautiful, nicely thought out with everything we needed. Huge rainfall shower. Lovely garden to stroll in. Handily placed for the very attractive and interesting town. We parked right outside - we were offered a space at the back but didn't need it. Excellent breakfast (though it would have been nice to have some fruit.)
Cons: Only one tiny thing - the TV remote didn't work very well. But really no complaints.
Pros: Wonderful welcome from Alice, (tea & cake!). Beautiful old house with large rooms and lovely decor. Very well located, within easy walking distance of the centre of town. Fantastic breakfast, with fresh eggs from Alice's chickens. A must to stay there again.
Pros: Lovely warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Amazing house with an abundance of interesting collectibles and antiques. Beautiful comfortable room, scrumptious breakfast and fantastic hosts. I couldn’t recommend this b&b enough. We will definitely be back.
Pros: The eccentricity and warmth of our hosts! Made to feel extremely welcome! Wonderful breakfast thanks to Alices chickens for their eggs for breakfast

Pros: Warm welcome for us (and our dog) from May and Alan, Very comfortable house, great dinner and breakfast.
Pros: Lovely, welcoming hosts. Fabulous scenic peaceful location and so accessible to A10. The accommodation was very comfortable and the cosiest of beds. We spent a lovely evening with Alan and May, supper was delicious and wine flowing. Breakfast was of a high quality and plenty to choose from. We will return.
Pros: May and Alan were absolutely lovely hosts! The place was amazing and they made us feel so welcome, thank you! The location is also very picturesque and serene, if you're staying in this area!
Pros: Comfortable, spacious and beautiful property. The hosts were caring and very friendly, the cherry on the cake.
Cons: Beautiful house in great setting. The hosts were ever so nice and breakfast superb with a big variety of choice. Highly recommended.
Pros: Good breakfast. Good and quiet location.
Pros: Extremely very friendly and hospitable couple. Excellent food Will go again
Pros: We arrived on a Sunday and May had reminded us finding a restaurant open on a Sunday was very difficult. She prepared a 3 course meal for us including wine for 25 euros each!!!! We were in the area to see if it was a region we would consider moving to. The host, May was fantastic. She was welcoming, friendly and could not do enough to help us gather information which may inform any decision we make. She recommended an estate agent and provided background on the local communities. May also welcomed our dog, Jasper and although her home was spotless her rules regarding dogs was very relaxed: if you dog is well behaved. To top it all the property is beautiful. The bathroom was massive and so well equipped.
Cons: Leaving after such a short stay.
Pros: Welcoming hosts, comfortable bedding and great quality choice breakfast - easy access from A10 too.
Located in Courcelles, Le Four à Pain - Chambres d'Hôtes is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Museum of Saint Jean d'Angely and Eglise Saint-Pierre d'Aulnay. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: A beautifully restored farm. The owners (English) were very well-informed about the area. Very friendly and helpful.
Pros: It was a lovely experience and everything was perfect. Quiet, beautiful house, really comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. Our hosts were charming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Altogether perfect.
Cons: Only the miserable weather!
Cons: We were reprimanded by the owner when we took bathroom towels to the pool; perhaps some signs to that effect would help, also the provision of pool towels. The exterior of the property was rather untidy, and seemed uncared-for, eg broken tiles on steps.
Pros: the place and the rooms , breakfast is french but very very good as french
Pros: Wonderful facilities and very comfortable rooms .Spotlessly clean and everywhere arranged for guests to access and use the many seating areas outside . Superb pool , heated and easy access steps . Breakfast was lovely fresh home produce and plentiful pastries and bread. Karen made a lovely meal which was great after a long drive . Highly recommend as a base for exploring the region.
Cons: Only one slight problem for us is that we like to walk to local cafe or town in the evening and this wasn't possible.
Pros: The dining room was very pretty and the bedroom and bathroom very comfortable. Lacks a rubbish bin in bedroom although there is one outside.
Pros: The owners were lovely. Everything was perfect
Pros: The continental breakfast was delicious, served in the lovely dining room. The accommodation was spacious and quiet and we would have liked to have stayed longer.
Cons: It would have been useful to have had a fridge, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment of the lovely accommodation.
Pros: Breakfast was simple, continental and delicious with a nice range of patisserie and homemade bread. The dining room is calm with a large communal table - so breakfast is a lovely relaxed meal with fellow guests.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Located in Saint-Jean-dʼAngély, 36 km from Cognac, Le Jardin des Anges provides a garden and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available daily at the bed and breakfast. Saintes is 27 km from Le Jardin des Anges, while Niort is 49 km away. The nearest airport is La Rochelle - Ile de Re Airport, 75 km from the accommodation.
Pros: Be aware that renovations are on-going, so the entrance and ground floor might not be what you expect. But, hang in there. The room is nice and the breakfast is excellent (every item is well-chosen and is likely to be organic and fresh. You're as close to the historic center as possible. There's secure parking around back (or front, depending on how you look at it).
Pros: The quality of the accommodation was exceptional. One of the best places I have encountered to stay in. The welcome was lovely and the breakfast was amazing
Pros: High quality of the bread !
Pros: Pleasant owner. Good rooms. Comfy bed. Superb breakfast
Cons: Very very thin wall between the bedrooms. You wouldn’t want to stay there with strangers. The whole building bar the top floor has been damaged by a fire so it’s really a building site. No way of identifying the building as it’s covered in scaffolding. Not pleasant.
Pros: The hotel is undergoing a renovation, but I was not disturbed by any of the work. I'm going to go back to see the results, can't wait!
Cons: I would like to have had more time there.
Pros: Superbly located in stunning St Jean D'Angely behind Place de la Ville & with secure parking within gorgeous walled garden. Belen was simply the best & loveliest hostess - so sad re my petit peu francais - with breakfast to die for - home-made everything & all eco-friendly, also catering for all food styles! The 2nd floor rooms where we stayed were so Louis XV chic - touchy-feely sparkling wallpaper too - & wonderful wet room style shower. This beautiful historic house will continue to become even more glorious.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent as was the attention of the owner.
Cons: Finding the property was difficult especially as there was no means of contact at the door. Needed to call via phone. Once that was resolved we found that the interior is undergoing a complete restoration with everywhere covered in wrapping and only the top storey available to use. Once the work is complete it will be a beautiful and character location. But not any time soon from current appearance.
Pros: Nicely restored
Cons: I think ensuite facilities are needed

Cons: Tiny room Toilet to small to sit in Shower broken had to hand hold it
Pros: Clean room. Staff extremely helpful. Bryan via the telephone and the cleaning lady and the reception lady! Great location for our purposes.
Cons: Weak shower but served its purpose.
Pros: Comfortable, if a little odd. Having said that, we would use again
Cons: Old style motel, very similar to American old movies
Cons: Very disappointed. Horrible smells. Broken lights. Broken soap dispenser. Flat pillows. TV remote not working. Breakfast at €8 was very poor. Would never stay again.
Pros: Proximity to the motorway.
Cons: No restaurant although it says so in the description, air conditioning broken, staff can't speak english.
