Pros: The owners were really super. They spoke good English and couldn't have been more helpful. I enjoyed chatting with Juyan in the lounge after I'd been out for dinner. The whole place had a lovely atmosphere.
Cons: Although it was well located for the cable-car and temple, it was quite a walk from the port with luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host kindly offered to pick us up as we were arriving very late in the night. He was quick to respond to enquires. The staff were all very helpful and made us feel so welcomed. We’ll return in the future.
Cons: NA

Pros: Where most people go to the island in the morning and stay on the mainland. It's definitely recommendable to stay on the island. The people at the Guest House provide you with a great experience to enjoy the island to its best.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and the included breakfast was great. It's about 5 minutes to "downtown" and 10 minutes to the rope way. Walk the ferry terminal is easy and the included restaurant list was very helpful. You can't beat the price.
Cons: We knew it going in but the mattress pad was a bit thin and took a minute to get comfortable. Otherwise, no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room, lovely view, friendly staff, homely welcoming feel, great location!
Cons: All was good!

Pros: Amazing experience.5 star Japanese Hospitality. Room was beautiful and comfy. We spend so much time in private hotspring bath. The mattress was thick, soft and confy so it is easy to sleep even for western people who don't get used sleep on futon. And can't miss to mention about the breakfast. It was the best Japanese Breakfast ever had with amazing view. So glad we could stay there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't say enough good things about our stay at Hatago Sakura. We chose to go for the package that included dinner and breakfast. Both meals more than lived up to the Two Michelin Stars that the chef has. The level of pride in every dish that was served, the knowledge and friendliness of the people taking care of us during our meals was also fantastic. The room was also extremely comfortable, spacious and the private bath is a definite bonus. The hotel is located in an incredibly scenic area with beautiful views of the Miyajima mountains and the bay. It was a welcome change of pace from the busier city. Our only regret was that we did not spend another night or two there. I would very much recommend Hatago Sakura It is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of exceptional Kyoto kaiseki cuisine and try out onsen style bathing. I would like to thank the owners and staff who took such good care of us during our stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, wonderful service and excellent dinner - and the price corresponds. Faultless.
Cons: Outdoor bath was just that, not an onsen - but outdoor and with direct view to Miyajima.

Cons: Is not written in any place that you have to make an anticipate reservation to eat in the 2 Michelin stars restaurant. So, if you want to eat there, don't forget to make a reservation!
9.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They provided excellent customer service. Convenient to railway station. Would stay here again if I return to Hiroshima without a doubt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is convenient and perfect, located at the JR rail/Shinkansen station, with Hiroshima city streetcar station in front of rail station. Extremely clean, awesome beds, spa-like showers, great food, fun bar with Happy hour, easily-accessed smoking area outside the lobby, corner rooms with amazing views, English speaking staff, money-converting machine in lobby, A+ breakfast buffet, convenience stores located steps away in rail station and across the street.
Cons: All was basically perfect. Just know that the hotel is NOT "walking distance" to any tourist spots, but IS located steps from the rail and Shinkansen central station and a short walk to Hiroshima streetcar station which will take you all over the city for a few dollars. (¥160 or $1.60 to go direct to Atomic Dome and a museum). Restaurants are pricey but there are 7-Elevens in the rail station for late snacking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for price. Very pleased with size of room and comfort. Staff so helpful and pretty good at speaking English. Bar was nice place to relax. Close to station and very convenient. Room service was nice as well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right by the main station so great to get to. Easy to get to the city and see the sites with a tour bus leaving from beside the hotel. Staff at check in were super helpful. Booked within 2 hours of arrival and the booking wasnt on the system. Sorted swiftly and loved the standard of the rooms.
Cons: There is an extra charge for the pool. That is unusual for most countries but not a surprise in Japan. Not common to have a pool. The problem was I searched for a place with a pool so, once there ended up paying to use the facilities.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to Hiroshima station, epic city views and very comfortable room
Cons: Laundry prices were ridiculously expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff there was so hopeful and nice. Thank you so much for going the extra mile.

Pros: Amazing hostel with super friendly hosts and a lovely Café. It feels like home with all the amazing books and cute interior. We stayed in a private double room and it was super comfy and cute, we would have loved to stay longer and can recommend it for your stay in Hiroshima. Restaurants and Shops are around and Bus and Tram stop in short walking distance.
Cons: As the private room was next to the lavatories and showers, you hear when people are around.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 36Hostel is the cutest hostel I've stayed at in Japan. The first-floor common room is beautifully-decorated with books and potted plants. The bathrooms were clean and never occupied when I wanted to use them. There is a refrigerator and microwave oven in the common room. The hostel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from the Hiroshima Bus Center, and equally close to the Hiroshima Peace Park. It's a great location.
Cons: My mattress was too hard for me to sleep well - but I am a light sleeper. Also, the automatic lights in the women's dorm room came on whenever anyone moved/entered the room. This was irritating when I was trying to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and cozy interior, friendly and helpfull staff. Really good service and very tidy. Was enjoyable to stay at this place, at some point I was even thinking to go to city or just stay at hostel chillin' at the caffe next door or entry room, lounge area. So cool, so green! And many good books everywere. All kind of readers can find something to enjoy before sleep:)
Cons: I think everything was just fine!!

Pros: This small hotel is located in the heart of Myajima. 2 minutes walk from the main shopping street and 5 minute walk to the famous Tori gate. It is spotless and is furnished with good taste. We had a room for 4, a family with 2 children, and the 2 joint bedrooms were separated by the sliding door. Bed, especially blankets!! we’re so comfortable. Shared bathroom and lavatory were not a problem. I never saw any other guests anyway, although the place was booked out. The lovely lady who runs the hotel speaks excellent English, is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for your hospitality . The hotel is 8 mins walk from ferry. I would definitely stay there again!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very well located, very simple room, the owner is really nice and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very big, we were actually the only guests for the night, so could use bathroom whenever. Host was lovely and helpful with suggestions for dinner, as only a handful are open at night on Miyajima.
7.5 Good
Pros: The owner is very helpful and friendly. She gave us tips on where to eat and how to reach Mt Misen. Everything was very clean. We had 2 adjoining two-bedroom rooms for a family of four. The property is close to the pier and the main shopping street.
Cons: The room where we stayed with our 2 kids had no view, which is a personal preference. I think next time being on such a beautiful island, I would want a view of the ocean. It is pricey to stay on the island in general, including at this B and B. But overall we had a nice stay for one night.

Pros: A minute from the tram but still walkable into downtown, close to the main city station. Staff were excellent.
Cons: The top bunk I had was under a bulkhead and if you're around 6ft you can't really sit up to read unless you angle to a side.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent. Except for a few stray hairs in the shower it was very clean. The beds are not that comfortable, but for $33 a night it was perfect. It is a no frills hostel, but we were very happy with our stay. They had a nice kitchen, books and games, laundry, and a cute roof. They even had bikes to rent.
Cons: Better mattresses would be the only thing that could improve.

14
8.9 Excellent (206 reviews)

Providing easy access to Miyajima and Hiroshima city, it is a guest house that offers all private rooms and overlooks the magnificent view of the sunrise from the shared space on the 2nd floor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, very clean place, located pretty close to a station.
Cons: The shower valves were quite hard to use, I struggled a bit to get the water temperature right.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After some ten years of travelling to and through Japan, this was no doubt the very best B&B I have ever stayed at. Never seen such a beautiful room, such incredibly kind and helpful owners... This was close to perfection, if it wasn't perfect ... The weather during my stay was simply awful, the owner helped me dry my shoes, offered me to take an umbrella for my further journey .... it was truly an amazing stay.
Cons: Nothing, really nothing.... I do recommend this place to anyone. If one would complain on the location, well it's only two train stops from the Miyajima terminal, and then it is a few minute's walk. Of course, if that is an issue ....
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and rooms. Friendly and helpful host. Clean and spacious. Loved the view to the sea from the windows and common space. You can make your own meal and enjoy coffee or tea. Ideal for family stay I think. It's not too far away from station.
Cons: It can be noisy because of traffic but when you are tired from travelling and exploring, you can sleep well. Also the curfew can be troublesome for somebody, but you have to understand that it's not hotel with a lot of staff etc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Todo excelente The best place , the best guesthouse in hiroshima , good point to go to the island , the metro is near to the house , and people the was great ! Really i want back there
9.6 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and lovely communal kitchen with view.
Cons: All was great but I would have liked a lamp in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I love the livelyness of the host. He hepled me plan the trip to miyajima. Both allowed me to bake for them they even provided the materials needed. The also let me bring some friends for dinner. I even sang катюша with the host. And the host in return let me taste some russian cider. That one hit hard
Cons: The curfew was a bit of a downside, however if you plan propperly it should not be a problem. You will have to buy your own breakfast, it is not included. the place does provide you with a propper kitchen to store and prepare your meals
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, excellent location. And great common communal space. Fell in love.
Cons: The bathroom size is a bit small. Especially shower. But is manageable. Curfew of 11pm needs to be taken into account while planning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, both tram or train straight into Hiroshima or down to Miyamira. It was only around 10 minutes to Miyamira, or 30 minutes by train to Hiroshima. Breakfast at the Guest House was so good and Yu and his partner were very charming and helpful. My room was lovely and light with two single beds. I could not fault it especially the hospitality shown. There was a large communal eating area and a fridge for your food and drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Cons: Nothing. The restaurants in both Hiroshima and Miyamira were all very good. The sea is just across the main road where you can see Miyamira and Hiroshima too.

A stay at Candeo Hotels Hiroshima Hatchobori places you in the heart of Hiroshima, within a 15-minute walk of Hiroshima Museum of Art and Shukkeien. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, warm, open big windows. Loved the onsen/sky bath- nice feature.
Cons: Rooms small. Toilet very basic and a stale smell in there throughout stay
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a little small but that's Japan. Facilities were amazing, including the free onsen, an outfit to wear throughout the hotel and a wonderful and varied breakfast. You even get to pick up toiletries as you please for free at any time.
Cons: This is a biggy!!!! The cleaner left our door snibbed after cleaning our room and it was therefore open all day! Thank goodness nothing seems to have been stolen. After complaining to reception we were told that the cleaner denied it. (What else would they say but no one else ha cause to enter our room and we were out for 8 hours). No appropriate measures were taken given this serious breach of security. Quite frankly, I expected a little more than an "I'm sorry" from the receptionist.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Very new place so it’s quite clean and quirky.
Cons: The breakfast was a mad. Got there early and it still took 30 minuets to get though the buffet line.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to move around on bus & tram
5.4 Okay
Pros: The rooms were nice and spacious.
Cons: The staff was completely unhelpful! of the three persons at the front desk we spoke with, none could hold a conversation in English. We needed help with a taxi early morning and after two calls the front desk told us that absolutely no taxi in the city is available and that they can't help. When we asked what we could do to get to our destination they told us to find a taxi off the street. At 5 AM! luckily close by there is a tourist information center which was super helpful, who helped as finding several different ways to get to our destination and provided a lot of guidance. The stay at the hotel and the attitude of the staff was very disappointing, unhelpful and frustrating.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Onsen was quite nice. Gf with tattoos couldn't go. Room was ok. Small. Balcony rooms are on bottom floor. Would skip balcony and go for a higher floor
Cons: No tattoos in the onsens
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very luxurious room, super friendly staff and great onsen. Close to shopping and the sights in Hiroshima (walking distances). Highly recommended, we would definitely stay there again

Pros: The cleanliness was superb
Cons: Slightly far from the train station

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: I did not like this hotel at all.
Cons: We were initially shown to a very cramped depressing room which smelled strongly of drains. The bed, which had been advertised as a small double, was barely bigger than a single bed. The momiji manju (japanese sweet) which was left in the room actually had flies inside the packaging which did not inspire confidence in the cleanliness of the hotel...! We asked to move rooms which they eventually did - they put us in a japanese style room which smelled musty and like it needed airing (although thankfully it didn't smell of drains!) this room was also very dusty. Communicating with the staff was difficult as they had very limited English. This is not a cheap option and despite attractive pictures on booking.com it is actually a tired hotel with poor staff, one of the worst places we stayed in a month travelling around Japan, I recommend you choose somewhere else. Aside from the hotel - it's worth knowing that barely any restaurants are open on Miyajima after the daytripping tourists have left, so stay somewhere which includes dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kikunoya was a wonderful hotel, the staff were so lovely and friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. The room was really comfortable and clean and had all the facilities we needed. Breakfast was excellent and we loved that you had a choice of a western or Japanese breakfast, it was delicious. The location is fabulous as well, a short walk from all the shops and restaurants. The hotel also offers a shuttle service back to the ferry which is very useful.

Cons: Expensive

Pros: Super handy location from the ferry, it was easy to walk. The staff were very kind and welcoming, perfect place if you're on a budget.
Cons: It was very loud in the shared dorm in the morning -and did not smell great. No curtains for the windows - which makes for an early rise at 5.30am.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very friendly staff and good vibe in a great location for visting Miyajima. Pity the weather was bad and we couldn't enjoy the rooftop patio
Cons: It wasn't clear in the booking information that the room we booked was open to the bunk room (and hence noisy and light)

6.0 Good
Pros: Attentive staff from the pier pickup to drop off at departure.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Now sure why they offered us western breakfast. Surly I wasn’t asked or a choice was offered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful location on Miyajima Island! Everything about our suite was gorgeous, and the staff were extremely accommodating especially with our included meals. As tattooed westerners we wanted to experience our own private ryokan and this suite gave us that opportunity and it was amazing. We were sad to leave and wish we had booked a longer stay.
Cons: Nothing at all.
7.9 Good
Pros: More hotel like than my other nights but friendly and well run, I stayed after a visit to Hiroshima same day which had been quite upsetting, so this beautiful place helped me get back into balance and I walked up the mountain (quite strenuous if you don’t use ropeway) next day which worked wonders for my spirits
Cons: There was quite a walk from the ferry and I only found out but the free shuttle after I arrived, recommend a call because that walk with luggage is quite uphill
9.2 Excellent
Pros: staff, hot springs; shuttle; location; quiet
Cons: inflexibility: arrived 2:10pm but could not check in until 3pm; wanted to add breakfast on departure day, but reservation required (for party of 1!); no dinner in hotel past 8pm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to a better room Staff were genuinely helpful and pleased to converse. Onsen was v good.
Cons: All good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location over looking the sea. Away from the crowd but walking distance to the shrine. Staff extremely helpful, came to pick us at the ferry terminal and drove back our luggage for our ferry time. Food was excellent, they also have a private outside onsen with views in the tori. We were two families with kids and was perfectly adapted for them.
Cons: Nothing, all perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great experience at the Jukeiso: the gastronomic dinner, the amazing staff and the Onsen. Everything was perfect, thank you guys for the beautiful moment we spent at your place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Authentic Ryokan experience. The staff was awesome. You can book a private onsen overlooking the shrine (although currently view is blocked for maintenance). Great traditional japanese dinner.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice amazing staff. Private bath. Good location. Picked you up and dropped you off from the ferry.
Cons: A bit run down for the amount of money paid, smelled funny in the rooms.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: After dark, we walked through the most beautifull setting next to the shrine. We were all alone, except for the moon. It was unmatched. Want to go back. We enjoyed the private semi-outside onsen, the delicate dinner served with elegance, the view across the shrine, pagoda and Torii (in scafolds, as announced).
Cons: Finding the way to the hotel by foot was a bit tricky. Look for the big sign high upon a post at the base of a stone staircase
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The dinner and breakfast were such a fun experience! The staff was amazing, welcoming and sweet. We felt like we were visiting someone in their home. We loved having the shuttle from the pier.
Cons: The ryokan itself seems a bit dated in decor.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The public onsen had radiation (radium) which kepted me warm all night. Also the sake tasting was pure evil, especially after the hot onsen and before dinner.
Cons: Earlier check in would be better, and if have onsen in room instead of normal water would be perfect.
