Nothing Zero customer service. Staff was rude, and disrespectful. All I got was a bad attitude. Rooms were dirty, smelly, and old.
Cheap The exterior looked like a cheap motel. Upon entering the room we were greeted by a musty/smoky smell that triggered my asthma even though the room was supposed to be nonsmoking. The walls were plain white and stained unlike the pictures. The bathroom floor had various stains that I will not speculate on. All in all, not a bad place if you have 50 dollars, no standards of cleanliness, and feel that mold is just another of god's creatures and shouldn't be harmed.
Staff was super friendly and helpful Room was smelly, air conditioner froze overnight, toilet clogged with 1st use, tiny bathroom
The price. The door to the room had a 1 inch gap at the top of the door. Had to plug it with a towel so no one could look into the room. Had a coffee pot in the room, with coffee packets, but no caraffe in the coffee maker. Just kinda, overall rundown. We literally felt like we needed to examine the bed for bed bugs. However, after having completed our experience, it all worked out and I'm glad we saved $50 over what we expect from a basic motel experience. This is definitely a place where the only benefit is the economy.
All provided facilities were good, functioning condition. Atmosphere wise, I was not feeling safe because of the open nature of the place, especially since I was with my wife and little kids.
The free breakfast was in a crudy room and was basically some toast and cereal
Was very pleased with our stay. cheap rates, very clean room, nearby amenities,1/2 hr away from hershey park(which was perfect for the Beyonce concert),front desk women were extremely nice. great to have a good sized refridgerator & good air conditioning. & continental breakfast, overall i would recommend this value inn to anyone. great place to rest your head! only thing that was disappointing but bearable was the bathroom area with tub & toilet was extremely small. the sink & mirror with vanity are outside that area so was easy to deal with.
Front desk staff wasn't very pleasant .
Close to Hershey Park - free shittle there, too.
Proximity to Hersheypark and area attractions; indoor pool (for the children); the staff was helpfu; and friendly; shuttle to the park.
Allowance of pets was a real plus. Front desd staff were very helpful. Room did not get made up on second day.
Fantastic location and thankful for the shuttle to and from HP. Love that the hotel hallways smell like chocolate! Gym equipment is outdated and the breakfast is cleaned up for exactly 10. Not a minute less.
The shuttle that took us from our hotel to Hershey Park.
Very Close to the park with free shuttle. Free breakfast was not too bad Pool was very small. Also our room had cracks and water damage to the walls and ceilings
has a great location, clean, well run and cared for, would stay again could use updating but location, cleanliness and value make up for that
Pool open late. Covered free parking. Clean. Chocolate smell in the morning was awesome !! Breakfast was great, but extremely crowded and crazy. Layout could make things run a little better, as well as moving tables a little further away.
It is conveniently located near all of the Hershey attractions. The room had a refrigerator to store the chocolate. Too much noise from other guests in the halls and slamming doors. Lots of kids running around and partying adults.
The shuttle drivers were especially friendly and prompt. The front desk staff was helpful, especially is providing a list of local restaurants. The wifi didn't work in our room, despite assistance from the front desk staff.
Everything was good.Relaxed atmosphere and staff very helpful and pleasant. No local taxi firm as such, but staff did everything to get us one.Not really the hotel's fault but we were let down by one that we had booked night before we were due to checkout. In fairness hotel staff sorted problem for us.
Room was remodeled and looked very nice. The tub was disgusting! The grout was nasty. The bathroom should have been remodeled with the room. I will not stay here again.
Booked a non-smoking room a month in advance but arrived at 11pm after a long day and were assigned to a room that wreaked of cigarette smoke...the hotel hallway also smelled like strong chemical cleaners masking smoke smells. After complaining, we were moved to the only room left...the handicap accessible room next to the lobby and elevator. There, we were subject to loud guests until about 2am, and could hear every word through the thin door and walls.
Location Hotel was not la Quinta quality. Room smelled of mold and we saw spiders on wall.
I loved the breakfast that was included and how clean we found the facilities. I feel as if the room should have cost 75 versus 100. Also the bed was really firm and I prefer a softer bed.
Great bed. Love the big tv. Beautiful hotel. Excellent value!! Would love HBO! Would like a stand for suitcase.
The convenient location was a definite plus, including easy on/off the Interstate and a good assortment of restaurants and services nearby. The facility was surprisingly modern and very well maintained, in sharp contrast to experience with other Best Westerns. It also was a good value for the money. I'd stay again. It is noisy next to the freeway, but the room was reasonably well insulated and more than quiet enough to sleep soundly.
Great hotel! Very friendly staff!! Food in O'Reilly's Pub was very good too!
The beds were very uncomfortable and the pool water was ice cold.
The front desk was very nice and accomidating. One of our pillow cases looked to have some sort of red mark on it... Looked like dried blood. Also our room was next to the pool and until 10pm we could hear everyone in it. The glass is not thick enough to block the pool noise.
I like how nice the hotel is. The lobby is big and very inviting. I like they have sections with sofas so people can sit and chat. The room is spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. The decor is surprisingly nice for a best western, but again my friend told me it is their Premier class. We would stay there again when we go to Hershey. I didn't like the bed. It is too soft to my preference but it is probably just me because I like harder bed in general. Our kids swam in the pool but couldn't last long because the pool was too cold. Wishing that the pool was warmer to enjoy.
Discover all that downtown Harrisburg has to offer! You are at the heart of everything, including shopping, dining, entertainment and the arts. You are within easy walking distance of Restaurant Row, Harrisburg's Capitol Complex, the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and the Susquehanna River's picturesque waterfront and the wonderful Hershey Park.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza. We were disappointed as the rooms were very small and the noise level was unacceptable. If you stay here, ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Parking was valet only and costly but all other parking in the area runs about the same price. The air conditioner was very loud and went on and off all night. Between the noise outside and the air conditioner we did not sleep at all. The rooms were clean but again, very small. I used the Entertainment card and received 50% off the regular rate and I still feel that it was not worth the money we paid. On a positive note, we were able to walk around downtown Harrisburg and enjoy the restaurants, pubs, and sights.
I knew my room hadn't been cleaned when I found money on the floor from previous guest. No towels in room. AC/Heat didn't work. No shampoo, coffee. Front desk unresponsive.
The parking facility for the hotel was always booked and I had to park across the street from the hotel during half of my visit. Mind you the main parking area is dismal and extremely confining so this was not a loss. The room I stayed in was pitiful and tiny for myself, my husband and two children. I made sure to stay outside as much as possible, so as not to remain in that tiny space.
I went there with my wife because I wanted to combine some business and pleasure. We had a very good attention from the staff at every moment of our stay. the location is perfect. The room was excellent for the taste of my wife for me, I just missed a more business touch. Considering all the aspects of my stay I would consider value for the money between good and excellent, would definitely stay there again if I need to find a hotel in Hershey
Clerk who checked us in was in great, cheery mood. Never had a better welcome at a hotel.
Heater did not work in both rooms/TV remote did not work/Bathroom is small/Linens not cleaned/Room Service was horrible/Parking is VERY small/For a Crowne Plaza Hotel this was very disappointing
Big room for the low price, modern, clean, and very friendly staff! I will be back here!
Hotel itself was clean, but they charge extra for everything and it's expensive. Not worth the money.
I was not satisfied with my stay at all. The rooms were small and tight as well as the bathrooms. It felt like I was at a motel. The rooms need to be remodeled as well as the bathrooms. Everything about the hotel is tight and to be located downtown, it should have looked better than it did.
this was the best hotel i have ever stayed at staff, rooms, area is the best in all of my experience
rooms are microscopic, bathrooms smaller. A/C didn't work in my room, it was 82 and I had to try to sleep with the windows open. Repeated requests for an engineer were never answered. The ''health room was a discrace. The equipment was so out of date it was downright dangerous. Would never stay here again
Location- service and cleanliness I don't understand why I can stay at a hotel 6 and have a microwave in my room but a hilton does not- So my biggest disappointment was not finding a microwave when I wanted to reheat a leftover meal-
The paid Wi-Fi is fast. I am OK with paying a little extra for solid internet. The hotel has recently undergone renovation and is much cleaner than even a year ago. The new restaurant and bar on the first floor is fantastic.
Clean, safe, and a very nice restaurant is what I liked. I also liked the clean fluffy towels and workout room. My suggestions would be to have bathrobes in the rooms. Also, I would've liked to see an extra blanket in the closet. At this time, the pool was closed for repairs. Parking was $10 a day.
I came with my service dog and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful! I will definitely be back!!
Liked the location. Restaurants. Room facilities.bathroom cleanliness. There was dust on tables so housekeeping staff not careful.
Staff, outside seating, upbeat decor, engaging design. ATM too far off. No email receipt.
Nice rooms, complimentary breakfast. The elevator did not appear to be in good working condition and the hotel was much further out of Harrisburg than anticipated.
Cool decor and comfy beds Allowing dogs. I will not stay at Laquinta again. Dogs barking at 3 and 5am.
Everything Couldn't close the blinds
Really enjoyed the stay here. Everything was clean, friendly staff, great breakfast spread.
very good serve yourself breakfast tile floor had a slippery soapy film even when dry. Wet it a little when getting out of the shower, and it was super slippery.
I loved the service, the room, the cleanliness, the ambiance. Everything was well worth the price I paid. It was very nice and everyone, even the other customers, seemed to be smiling at all times. I found myself smiling for majority of the time there. Can't say I have a single complaint.
The staff was very welcoming, helped me and my family with everything we needed and answered all questions quickly. Can't say I didn't like anything all good reviews and thoughts here.
The breakfast was good, out girls enjoyed the selection. Or stay was expensive. We came with 2 little girls the night before a day at Hershey. I thought the staff would have been much friendlier. We paid $400 for the room, they could have at least given the girls a Hershey kiss or a map for the park. Our room had 1 small bottle of conditioner and 1 small bottle of shampoo...there were 4 of us in the room. My daughter went down in the morning to get more and was scolded by the woman at the desk for being without an adult. Our stay was okay, and I feel 400 dollars is too much to pay for just okay! I expected more being that it was a Marriott hotel.
Room so dirty. Sheets were not cleaned after previous guest. Blood stains on pillow and sheet and random loose buttons in other pillow. Bathroom had stinky floor with mold growing in shower. The room door was broke at the door jam making it very difficult to open at times.
The front desk staff were helpful and courteous The large number of animals in the hotel. The fact that we had a room that had been inhabited by animals to which I am very allergic. And the fact that every dog (and there were many) that we saw was obviously over the 25 pound advertised weight limit. One woman had three dogs that probably combined topped 200 pounds.
The suites are enormous. The staff is very friendly. They have free hot tea, coffee & hot chocolate in the lobby 24/7. To quote my girlfriend, "This bed is heaven." There wasn't really much I didn't like except the TV was incredibly far away from the bed, but you can pretty much chalk that up to the size of the room.
The room was very spacious and clean the free breakfast and newspaper was a nice perk.
Location was good. Staff was courteous and pleasant.. Room was sub-standard for the price. Bed was "thrown together" every day. Bed sheets were thread bare and did not fit well. Bunched up and was terrible to sleep on. Air conditioner blew directly on us while in bed. Bed should be on opposite wall. Very uncomfortable and LOUD!
The staff wasn't very friendly
Simple. Everything you need. Friendly staff.
Enjoyed the free wifi. Room and bathroom clean. Enjoyed the natural light from the large window even though it was right over a parking lot. Quiet. Literally stones through from 4 chain steakhouses. And a bunch of fast food. Easy location off highway. So much chlorine in the hot tub my eyes stung just walking by it. Maybe that's a good thing though? Only ice machine was on first floor.
Rooms are clean, nicely equipped with coffee, refrigerator, microwave. Facility was clean and quiet. Breakfast was decent.
Cheap. If you couldn't sleep either you slept in too late or weren't drunk enough
New, clean, and east location Smelled so strongly of Marijuana that it was Nauseating
The room was a good price. The beds were well made and linens in good condition. The TV worked without any problems. The beds were relatively comfortable, although firmer pillows would have been nice. The heat in the room also worked well (we stayed in January). It was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room; I am a breastfeeding mother, and having somewhere to put a bottle of pumped milk was extremely helpful. I'm fine with a room being Spartan if I'm not spending a lot of money. But it MUST be completely clean. The toilet was not. Around the top of the toilet bowl (under the seat) had definitely not been cleaned. Any hotel that can't adequately clean a toilet is definitely not going to be on my list of places to return.
Location Needs a good military style scrubbing
We needed a place to sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road so we weren't looking to spend a lot of money, so this meet that need. I always check the bed and pillows to be sure they are clean and these were so that was a plus. After seeing how "clean" the bathroom floor was, I made sure to wear my shoes. We didn't plan on showering so that didn't persuade me not too, but I am glad I didn't need to.
Decent room for the price
Room was cleaner than expected, quiet and a great basic room. Staff seemed professional, and I got the room at a great rate.
It was kind of clean There were no microwave or refrigerator
It was good overall , the only problem I had was that the AC went out in the morning and we couldn't get it back on , then we had to put it on cold fan and eventually it started working again, later in it happened again
Wifi was very poor. my stay was miserable
Staff was VERY friendly and helpful Lots and lots of electrical plugs, which is very important when traveling with CPAP machine and multiple electronic devices Really good breakfast Good pool and workout room Moslty travel in the Midwest so not used to the east coast prices
Location with respect to Hershey Park and restaurants and accomoditions None.
We liked the activities available to us to enjoy while we were there. The food was good. Didn't like the small bathroom and the thin mattress on the pull out sofa. The staff at the front desk were friendly and great but the staff in the restaurant in the morning were not friendly at all. The hostess walked you by the table and kept going without saying anything.
The hotel was close to a shopping center, so if you forgot to pack something you were in walking distance of the a shop to purchase what you needed. The best looking portion of the whole hotel was the pool area and the lobby. The rest of the hotel needed serious remodeling. The flooring was very outdated and became sticky and soggy if you didn't keep the A/C on at 65'ish degrees. The restrooms were incredibly small and outdated for the price. Any more than one person at a time in the restroom and you would be quickly overwhelmed with the lack of space.
We chose this location because it was close to Hershey park. We did the park for a day and like the amenities here for the following day, sadly Mother Nature didn't allow tuna to enjoy the outdoor area but the kids had fun in the indoor pool, arcade and game room. Would definitely recommend to others.
The staff was very courteous. I booked our hotel over a month out. I wanted a king size bed and a nice room. We had a king-size bed but we are in a room with a water everywhere time you showered and we are directly across from the elevator. Because we hadn't realize the shower till the next morning the contact at the front desk and we could only get a roo with 2 queen beds in a room that was adjoining very loud people. Having a Keurig coffee maker in the room didn't help because our staff did not bring us k cups. I was also not allowed to use my AAA discount because of the way I booked, which did not allow me to percent discount for complementary breakfast tickets All in all it was not a bad hotel, but for the money I would definitely look around a lot more and probably stay elsewhere.
Loved the lobby. The interior design was very nice. The room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. The pool was nice but it was a little cool for me. I liked everything.
Not only was this hotel 5 minutes away outside the Hershey gate, it was exactly what we needed. The hotel was clean with all the amenities it said it had it full working order. We intend on staying here whenever we have the opportunity. One staff member at the desk had an attitude, but that should not be a deciding factor.
The staff was friendly and helpful - the rooms were clean and had everything needed - no frills, but extremely adequate. The hall light in our room was not working which made it dark in the room.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were big and pretty. The lobby was also beautiful.
Christine Harrison was a plus. I consider her a valuable part of the hotel. She was very helpful and very friendly from beginning to end. I also liked the breakfast each morning, the pool, and the calmness of the hotel. The location was great and there are stores and convenience nearby. We will be back the next time we visit Hershey Park for sure. Thank you Christine for everything. I actually liked everything about it
Hotel was in great location and at a great rate. Free continental breakfast each morning was an added bonus.
The entire staff was very accomodating. My daughter forgot her toothbrush, called downstairs and they gave her a complimentary one. The next morning I asked the maid service to leave extra "regular" coffee in my room, and when I got back that evening I was able to have that extra coffee with my husband. The pool hours stated they were open till 10PM so I rushed down there at 9:40 for a quick swim with my daughter, there were 3 other families enjoying the pool facilities until way past 10PM and we were never asked to leave or made to feel uncomfortable. We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation!
I found the staff to be excellent, helpful and professional. The pool was too cold, and worn, but clean and the towels better than most hotel pool towels. The beds were comfortable and clean. When I asked housekeeping to scrub our bathroom floor after my son cut himself, they were very helpful and kind. It was a little worn in the bathroom and pool and it took them a while to clean up some toddler's mess in the kid area of the lobby. Personally I think the parents should have been more responsible.
The frig and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast. The daily cleaning of the room could have been a bit better. The sink was clogged and slow draining. The bathroom needs updating and the toilet seat was weak. There was also a lack of supervision of children in the pool.
Reasonable rates & convienence to Hershey Park and other attractions for my family. Room was not very clean upon our arrival. There was empty Gatorade bottles and trash under one of the beds. The bathroom had a musty smell to it.
The breakfast was satisfying. My room had a colony of ants. The towels were clean, but the room was not cleaned appropriately. Finally, the spa did not work the entire four days of my stay, although, it was said at check in that it would be working the following day (what a drag).
