Receptionist on arrival was very pleasant and made us feel most welcome. She is a real asset to the hotel. The central location was a plus as it was only a short walk to the main town features, especially the grand church with all the storks nesting on the parapets!!
Helpful staff and central location, the rooms were clean and despite the cold weather at an ambiant temperature. It was all rather basic including the restaurant which was lacking in any atmosphere or ambiance, the bar was very local and very smoky! Not used to that in UK any more.
Hotel room was clean and good value. Although the evening meal (menu del dia) was not expensive, we were disappointed with the quality of the food in the restaurant i.e. the fish was very small and had little flesh and the lamb was nearly all bone - we could find no meat!. Breakfast facilities were very poor - we had to eat in the cafeteria which was full of work men from the building site next door and there was only one person serving the coffee and doughnuts from behind the bar i.e. no table or self service facilities.
Clean, reasonable prices Don't speak french or english at all
distance and availability of car parking acceptance of pets, ease of booking in and out at reception.
Breakfast in bar - too smokey for children
the kindness of the staff some smell sometime along the corridor
This was the 4th time we've had a overnight stay at the Palacios accompanied by our dog and for us it ticks all the boxes. Ideal pace to stay if you want a reasonably price, friendly hotel to break your journey. Menu del dia in the restaurant is pretty good too! N/A
The in-house restaurant served an excellent menu del dia. Very poor location, only suitable for an overnight stay.
Excellent menu of the day for 11 euros. Very convenient for an overnight stay.
nicely decorated and comfortable room, including wifi, window shutters and airco. Staff even returned some forgotten luggage at no charge. Some light from the hall in the room at night, non English speaking staff (but they manage and are very helpful and friendly).
perfect location within the village. Great view on the castle. Clean, good value for money. Might be difficult to find without the help of locals.
Pleasant, relaxed, family owned and run, modern yet within a traditional spanish town setting
Nestled in beautiful spot, the owners are extremely kind and helpful.
Great location in old town near castle. Very stylish and comfortable. Family run. Welcoming and helpful.
Great location beautifully converted old house None
Everything looks, and probably is, brand new. The decoration is modern and stylish with a personal touch. Olite is a very picturesque village and the hostel is situated just a few meters from the fully restored castle.
Very clean and modern hotel. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Totally "new Spanish" in comparison to the tired pensions of the past.
Very funky little hotel. Possibly the friendliest hotel staff in Spain, willing to put up with our very limited Spanish with good humour and valiant attempts at English. Good, light breakfast, modern conveniences, clean and great location. Others have mentioned being fearful that parking is not within sight of hotel. Don't be worried! This is a town of 3,000 people, not an urban jungle. As anywhere else, don't leave valuables in plain sight in the car and you've nothing to worry about, other than toting your luggage up a cobblestone street. Was a trifle difficult to find, as it is buried in the heart of the old town. Best bet is to drive through the archway next to castle, park car and then walk. Some noise from hallways, but no worse than other Spanish hotels (Spain is just a loud country!)
Excellent modernised hotel in a beautiful old town. The hotel was so good that we extended our stay for two more days.
Waiting time at breakfast : minutes to make a coffee
Personal service. I was made to feel like a guest and a friend. The old fashioned, warm decor, etc was in keeping with the lovely town. I had been staying ina lot of impersonal 'cahin' hotels, and this one was like abreath of fresh air.
Beautiful room with an amazing view. The restaurant was phenomenol with personalized service. The courtyard with the fountain was very romantic. The staff were extremely helpful, helped us park our car. This hotel was definitely the gem of our trip - by far my wife's favorite place that we stayed
Staff, room (especially shower) and location. With our reservation breakfast wasn't included and I thought Kayak originally said it was.
This is a village house The external temperature was 30 degrees and the hotel had not put on the air conditioning. The temperature in the room was extremely warm. . The air conditioning would be put on "Manana" was the comment from the hotel. Eventually they moved us to another room with external windows in the bedroom and bathroom creating a through draft.
Beautiful room, perfect setting. No computer for guests
Parking is difficult due to cramped space and akward angles
A very warm welcome by the reception staff who were friendly and helpful. The room (303) was comfortable. Breakfast good. I appreciate having a garage for the car. Wardrobe hangers not very good. One needs rails as a well to hang one's own hangers on.
Excellent location just off the motorway in the middle of the wine region very helpful friendly staff we were towing a boat behind the car and it was very easy to get to and they had pre-arranged a section for us to park overnight in their secure car park
I wasvery disapoinrted that no mention had been made that the air conditioning was not working due to the change in the seasons. I think this should have been noted on the site or at least at reception. The weather was very hot and below our room was a smoking room with the doors open... Air conditioning was needed
The facility was wonderful. The staff was excellent and very helpfull in give us directions and suggestions regarding other things to do not on our list. The rooms were very clean, large and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant as well. The food was very good. Having internet access was very handy. Nothing comes to mind!
attention for details all over the parador, very very clean, rooms spacious abd very comfortable. i do not mond but the wooden floor can amke some noise - it would however not be the same whithout it.
La bona situació del Parador dins de la població
The location was ideal and the hotel for our requirements
Great old-time atmosphere, friendly staff, varied and plentiful breakfast, fine restaurant, quiet even though centrally located
Easy to locate in centre of city but close to historic Roman and medieval areas of great interest; nice big rooms ,very good regional food, helpful efficient staff. No english language TV allthough hotel literature claims to supply it!!
We enjoyed the atmosphere with the antique furniture and quiet luxury feel. The staff were extremely helpful. It was good to find such a quality hotel in an area of Spain that is quite empty of towns.
Fantastic building in a traditional Spanish town. Well worth a visit. In the heart of wine region. Fantastic breakfast. Room in a newer annex and slightly on the small side
The village and the monuments Tha breakfast was very poor for the hotel in question
It is a beatiful setting with Parador hotel being part fo an old castle. Just to be informed before hand as where to park the car would have been useful but we were informed by the staff on arrival . Parking was outside the castle wall area which was few minutes walk.
Breakfast great, location amazing nowhere to sit outside with a drink and book
Good choice at breakfast; one waiter was very friendly and helpful. The location was good for visiting other towns. They offered us twin beds when we had booked a double bed. They then gave us a double with no view looking over an alley with construction going on. The room was hot but they would not turn off the heat or put on the ac. Their parking was a public lot some distance away and one night it was full. They charge too much for a hotel which hasn't been refurbished or updated.
Beautiful hotel, and in a quaint medieval town 30 minutes from Pamplona. Stayed here during the Pamplona Festival with the bulls as an alternative to the higher hotel prices in Pamplona during that time. I was so surprised at this jewel! I had no idea that Olite had more to offer than this beautiful hotel, too-how quaint! Taxi ride to Pamplona was 50 euros, and the train does stop in Olite, but jump off fast!
The setting of the hotel was fantastic. We were there with individuals who stayed in 3 other rooms. All 4 rooms were excellent. We enjoyed the town and the nearby wineries.
fairytale setting, quiet. Great breakfast
Friendly staff and convenient location. Comfortable. We were disappointed that the restaurant was permanently closed, except for breakfast.
Nice small simple clean hotel with very nice staff. Very small rooms.
the oldness of the place, The hotel fitted in very nicely with Olite'S buildings No Tea or Coffee making machines in the rooms
Very friendly and helpful staff. The roon was very clean and a good size. Excellent location. Street noise in the mornings.
Great location in a beautiful town, recommended, owner has garage (for hire)
did not understand why i could not book mon friday
The first impressions of the building are very good as it is newly converted and attractive. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit plain but clean and comfortable. Good value dinner and simple breakfast included in overall price for the night.
The beds are too simple and not confortable, This is not a hotel for business purposes.
very accommodating staff, off the beaten track, old building--though modernized--gave feel of a monastery or convent, suitable for the handicapped surroundings were drab and made for a closed-in feeling at the facility, restaurant prices seemed high
Wonderful staff! Extremely hospitable management! Simply decorated and very clean and friendly. Great facilities. Can't praise it enough! A great experience! Pity that more of the character of the monastery hadn't been retained in the refurbishment and transition to a hotel. Could be improved with some more decoration and some interesting pieces of art/furniture etc.
Nicely renovated hotel with a lovely large room and great facilities. The staff are excellent. Their restaurant food is particullarly good.
You must try the resturant in the hotel is was great.
very good value for the money but I suspect we had the best room in the hotel as it had a beautifull stained glass window looking over the square
The Hotel staff were friendly, even though there was a language barrier The bath/shower facility needed modernising and the garage parking was a long way from the hotel.
Normal, conventional hotel in a perfect place for those who go to Madrid for shopping
I liked the central location, just perfect to explore the city centre within a minute. The personel didn't speak English at all.
Very clean. Very noisy.
Style of the rooms were nice. Staff was very pleasant. Difficulty climbing stairs with luggage. Elevator access would have been better.
beautiful medieval village fantastic atmosphere friendly residents and able to walk around easily
Fairly close to the Old Town One girl on reception when we arrived on Saturday afternoon who did not speak English, neither did she understand our Spanish,-I think they have a different dialect up there. We could not get a drink of anything at all,- water, tea coffee or wine. As we had just had a 6 hour drive we needed some refreshment. As we were leaving in the morning we noticed a mini bar tucked away in a corner of the upstairs corrador but sadly this was not pointed out to us.As it was 32 degrees at the time & we had wine in the car we asked if we could park in the underground garage for a couple of hours until it cooled down, & what would be the cost. Yes certainly & the cost would be 18 Euros _ You must be joking
It was a good overnight en route from southern Spain to northern France, close to a great bodega to pick up a supply for Christmas, and only five mins from theotorway and fivemins walk into a nice town. I like hotels that have a facility for brewing tea/coffee in the room. This didnt
We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is conveniently situated on the main road to Bilbao (for the ferry), is comfortable and has a restaurant that is open until late.
It was very close to the highway. We just made a stop to sleep and continue our trip. The fact that pets were allowed.
very helpful staff. Good swimming pool.
Nice room It is not easy to ｔｈｅ ｍａｉｎ ｔｏｗｎ ａｎｄ ｃａｂｓ ａｒｅ ｅｘｐｅｎｓｉｖｅ， ｔｈｅ ｓｔａｆｆ ａｒｅ ｕｎｈｅｌｐｆｕｌｌ ａｎｄ ｔｈｅ ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ ｉｓ ｅｘｐｅｎｓｉｖｅ ｔｏ ｕｓｅ．Ｃｈｅａｐｅｒ ｔｏ ｃａｌｌ ｂｙ ｐｈｏｎｅ．．．
Very Truck stop orientated but convenient as a one night stopover
It was an ideal location for an overnight stay on our trip from Santander to Alicante, (and again on the return journey) and our pet dog was welcome as well. We would definately use the hotel again. We ate Tapas on both stays with a bottle of Red Wine and it was very reasonable. It was just what we expected after reading reviews on the website we would use it again. The only thing is it was more than a walk away from the centre of Calahorra.
the food was excellent value distance from town, no use of pool after Sept.
Friendly staff. Bath too small.
The hotel is well positioned for an overnight stop on route to the Ferries at Santander and Bilbao, having driven over from near Alicante. We were happy with the hotel in general and very happy with the room. The restaurant food was very good.
Very good value for money. The service varied from very friendly and helpful to a bit restrained, depending on the person behind the counter (as did their English skills). When we needed help in planning our trip to Pamplona, we got excellent help and very useful tips about buses, parking etc., all in English. Rooms were clean and location was excellent. The room had an air con but it was quite underpowered for the July heat (the bathroom got ridiculously hot during the afteroon).
Situation. Food. Need to change the beds. Bit noisy. Air conditioner didn´t work and made too much noise.
Stairs might be a problem for disabled visitors.
