Pros: The location of the property (Houwan) is not the usual busy places of the area, which was fantastic as what we wanted was a quiet getaway. If you are driving here, there will not be any problem getting around. The beach and sunset right outside the property was great. The room was nicely decorated, very spacious, clean and cosy. Dinner & breakfast prepared by host were homely and tasty.
Cons: The bed and pillows were a bit soft, but that was personal as we were used to harder beds.
Pros: Great Bed and Breakfast, fantastic breakfast, very warm welcome.
Cons: No items to list
Pros: Meals, service and environment are great. We very like it.
When you stay at ZHUZAI in Checheng, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Kenting National Park and 2 minutes by foot from Houwan Jetty. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator.
Pros: Literally everything! Well designed interior and thoughtful amenities. Also, it’s very close to the ocean, probably 3-min walk. Tranquil place, you won’t regret staying here.
Pros: A very cozy and stylish place to stay. The room is clean and spacious (i.e. kid-friendly). The location is very close to the aquarium. It would be a great arrangement to stay one night here and go to the aquarium early in the morning. We went to the aquarium on the weekday. Glad that we arrived early enough to avoid peak hours.
Pros: Wonderful small boutique hotel from a super friendly couple. We enjoyed the very stylish atmosphere and the awesome hospitality.
Pros: Beautiful location, incredibly friendly staff, huge modern rooms, great breakfast, awesome value. Honestly, this might be the best B&B/hotel that I have ever stayed at
Pros: Everything is so great! I really recommended!!

Pros: Very kind and caring couple (who are retirees) eagerly welcomed me when I arrived at their property late in the evening. I felt so welcomed the very moment they appeared at the front door. The property has a huge garden with two friendly free-roaming dogs named "Koolok" and "Niu Niu", they are simply adorable and forever energetic! The dogs love new guests, especially young children! The room is extremely spacious and absolutely clean, and it comes with an excellent sunrise view, where you get a great view of their garden with coconut trees and some plantation, it just felt so relaxing and i didn't want to leave. I cycled to the nearby seaside the next morning, it was a very relaxing town. The owner even prepared a sumptuous home-cooked breakfast for me the next morning. The time spent the night before and that morning chatting with the couples made me feel so homely, we enjoyed exchanging our experiences and opinions, a fruitful stay i would say. The property has about 4 rooms upstairs and can be blocked out for a family or company gathering event. There is a huge dining space downstairs with carefully chosen furniture and there are lots of antiques display in both the reception and dining area. It also has a small play corner for young children with puzzles and games. At night, an outdoor BBQ stove is also available for use if ample notice is given. The owner's son had kindly helped me check on the train schedule to Taitung and offered me a free car ride to the Liaofang train station as they were also heading north the next morning. A very kind family i would stay. I will definitely be back for more.
Pros: The property is stylish, beautifully appointed and has real charm and interest. It is immaculately clean and everything needed is available. The setting is beautiful. The hosts are delightful and very kind but not at all imposing. Breakfast was delicious and healthy and made especially for us. We were given special homemade treats for our day of cycling ahead which were very much appreciated. Excellent value and highly recommended. Thank you.
Pros: Fabulous guesthouse. The owners are wonderful and they are so helpful. There is a nice garden and the breakfast is superb with freshly made bread and jam.
When you stay at H Resort in Fangshan, you'll be near the beach and 13 minutes by car from Haikou Beach. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free valet parking is available onsite.
Cons: There is no bar to drink liquor.
Cons: a little bit far away from the beach, it takes 40 min drive.
Pros: The facilities were great. The view was good
Cons: It was a little bit out of the way.
Pros: Super great view
Cons: The quality and food selections of dinner buffet is poor. Don't eat dinner buffet here.
Pros: Grand view on the sea, both from room & UFO restaurant. Spacious room & nice bathroom. Our bikes got the best parking spot of the whole trip: under the main stairs in the lobby :-)
Cons: Nothing much to do in or near the hotel besides the pool. All other extra's payable and not cheap. Food was ok but cold. Might be a detail, but if you have a piano in the hotel, why don't you allow your guests play it (in stead of a badly prerecorded computer :-). Could bring the place a bit to life...
Pros: dinner & breakfast buffet are good. very nice ocean view. room is clean.
Pros: Amazing infinity pool, lovely room and you can see the ocean from the balcony. nice breakfast as well. We had a great time!
Cons: The location was a bit out of the way but they provided free shuttle bus to Kenting Main Street and back, they also offer cheap bus from/to Kaohsiung HSR station which was very useful.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Dinner buffet had a lot of choice. The pool is lovely.
Cons: “Happy hour” was not for us- free beer and snacks we didn’t like and disco music but if it’s your thing you’ll love it. The hotel is isolated. It’s self contained so that’s ok but other things are long bus rides away and taxis can be expensive.
Pros: View, pool
Cons: Poor choices of tea in the room or breakfast. Coffee was great though. Average quality dinner buffet, breakfast is better.
With a stay at Country Lane Hostel in Checheng, you'll be steps from Kenting National Park and a 5-minute drive from National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: - Good resting place for our bike tour - Bikes allowed to be kept inside - Easy access to the mountains by bike - Very friendly host family - Huge and very comfortable room
Cons: - Sandwich and a drink provided for breakfast without any other option available - swimming pool not open
Pros: Very large room and comfortable bed.
Pros: I like the location. It’s close to where I worked that day. The room is big; the bed is big; the view is fine. The staff was friendly and very honest to answer my questions.
Cons: The restroom airy system had problems. After I had a big one, the smell was in the room for hours. The room keeper changed the pillow sheet and bed sheet but he didn’t change the blanket sheet. It had a smell that made us feel uncomfortable all night. Though he changed the pillow sheet and the bed sheet, there was still hair seen here and there. And the swimming pool was dry; breakfast wasn’t supplied even I wanted to pay for it. I think their goal that maybe is just a cheap and simple place for people to sleep. However, cleaness is the basic and must.
Pros: Nice and homey, great rooms. Really helpful staff. Beds were comfortable. It was a really peaceful setting with nice views from the rooms. The twin bed rooms are on the ground floor and open up to the lawn. Cute cat!
Pros: The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are also clean and the beds are comfortable.
Cons: There is a rooster right next to the property that starts crowing at 5:00 a.m. or earlier. This is incredibly annoying. In addition, some guests bring their pets / dogs and they were barking late in the evening and also early in the morning which woke up several in our group. Very annoying as well. The pool is not really a pool. It is only for children or just standing in. So the pictures are not really clear - be aware that you cannot swim at this hotel.
Pros: They have a spin dry cloth machine available, so you can use it if you have plan to wash your clothes during your trip. The property have a black beautiful cat that likes to follow guest, so if you are a fan of cat, then u would like this place. Else you might want to avoid this place.
Cons: Simple sandwich with cold soybeans drink packed from breakfast house. I think it would be better to just give the voucher for this breakfast house to guess for them to make their choice there. Owner is very particular about how we use the spinner and concern on waste of electricity while we were using so it us feel a bit uncomfortable..
Pros: The a/c for our room worked great, beds were comfortable, and facilities are spacious. Grounds are unusual and nice -- there's a gazebo, and shaded terrace or porch, and a lobby, along with what I'd consider a wading pool (we didn't use that). Staff are unusually helpful and pleasant; they helped us get a taxi, and made suggestions of where to go. Some speak very good English so communication was no problem. When we had an unexpected medical issue, they really helped out, which we very much appreciated! Refrigerator was available for our use, so we stored fruit and other goodies from the Hengchun market there. Place is very bicycle friendly. Location is close to a 7-11. Xin St. bus stop close by (next to 7-11 and across the street from the 7-11). Frequent and inexpensive bus service available on 9117, 9188, 301, 302, 201, and other bus lines, which allow quick trips into Hengchun, Chehang, up to the spas on route 199, and if you want, to larger cities. Download the iBus app and you'll be set!
Cons: Breakfast sandwiches and soy milk weren't my favorites, but that's just a matter of taste.
Pros: Great rooms, nice people. Peaceful.
Pros: Wonderful place to stay with an awesome view!

Pros: Greatest value for cyclists. - Free indoor parking - Air conditioned - Free laundry (self service) - Hot shower - Free Ice - 6 great local cuisines within 50 yards. - Free high speed WiFi - Best price: only a fraction of nearby hotel - Bed sheet change daily In this village, you will find the biggest FuDe temple in Asia. Joint-force drilling base is in this village, you might see F16 fighter jets AH-64 Apache attack helicopter hovering above.
Cons: - The price is charged by the number of beds occupied. 2 bunker beds per room. Might need to share the room with other. - It is remodeled from a rural house. Don't expect regular hotel amenity. - There is a big backyard with mango, guava, papaya trees. Don't expect landscape design and maintenance like a five star hotel. - Free breakfast is not included. Fortunately, a convenience stores and 6 other local cuisines are on the street within 50 yards.
Pros: Bed was comfortable, free flow of ice, can park bicycle inside premise.
Cons: Toilet condition not that clean.
Pros: Was the only economical option in the area for two beds. Decent living room, alright bunk beds
Cons: The worse bathroom experience I’ve had in Taiwan, it felt like it had never ever been cleaned. The shower area’s uneven tiles has darkened over years of trapped grease and hair, there’s also no shower curtains what so ever as well. I get that it’s a hostel but come on you gotta care about some basic hygiene. Central area of hostel looked like a junkyard of savaged junkyard furniture and catering equipment. I do wonder if the nice reviews come from the fact that they give you a discount if you write them a good review. The price is alright but there are much better options out there and worthwhile to pay more rather than staying here
Pros: Nice and friendly people
Pros: Staff don’t speak English well, but are very resourceful and manage to communicate. Very nice people!
Pros: The family is very nice! Chencheng is very small, but there are some eateries and the bus stop to Hengchun or Kenting is just outside.

Pros: The place is nice and beautiful
Cons: Not a thing I don’t like
Pros: The older gentleman that runs the place was friendly. He let me check-in at 1pm instead of 3pm. And made sure I felt at home.
Pros: If you're biking around the island it's not bad spot to stop for the night. It's clean, ish. No major complaints, but wasn't very nice or comfortable
Cons: There is absolutely nothing here. It was very hot but pool was closed. Neighboring Hotel had theirs open still
When you stay at Tiny Greece in Fangshan, you'll be on the beach and 9 minutes by car from Bakalukalu Shan. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff were friendly and guessed that I was vegetarian from my choice of evening meal, then providing me with a vegetarian breakfast in the morning! The food was tasty and the dormatory room came with breakfast included in the price. There was a spin dryer and area for drying clothes which was very handy. I particularly liked the animal taps in the bathroom! I also liked the hammock in the garden area.
Pros: Helpful and nice staff. Great breakfast. Great food and coffe but bit expensive. Bus stop is close to hostel.
Cons: Dorms - Thin mattress so you basically sleep on the wood. Beach is full of garbage, not for swimming. It is kind of messy around The building.
Pros: Canteen is great and the beach view.
Cons: No 7-11 or family mart near by.
Pros: Great view from balcony
Cons: Overly price for what it was
Pros: Although the rooms are really just converter containers, but the interior is quite nicely decorated and provided basic comfort. The staff are nice and the location is very good - right by the beach and great sunset!
Cons: It was pretty windy day and being in a converted container means it is very noisy! The restaurant closed early due to off season and not a lot of choices for food nearby....
Pros: Only booking.com spot in this town and a good rest stop for cyclists. Not heaps of food spots around so handy that breakfast is supplied
Pros: The room was bright, clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the sea. There were many great common spaces to relax. Unlimited drinking water was provided, as well as a fridge. The vegetarian rice set meal was varied and tasty (put a photo in the menu to advertise everything that is included). Staff spoke English and were helpful. The internet is good too.
Cons: The breakfast was weirdly designed, perhaps trying to be European. It ended up being confusing and not tasty. We suggest and appreciate using fresh local ingredients cooked in the Taiwanese way, which is so delicious.

The Fennel Resort is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Pingtung. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. When it comes to Pingtung hotels, the Fennel Resort is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
Pros: Excellent spa resort, a complete and diverse set of installations, very relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Communication in english was a bit difficult, but not impossible. Also, the description of this hotel on booking.com states that it is possible to get a massage, which turned out to be wrong.
