Pros: Great location and very well appointed. Bed was very comfortable. The complimentary coffee and cake in the cafe was a terrific touch.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful , good communication prior with directions etc Comfy bed, Cody & warm Delicious breakfast supplies, gourmet fruit bread amazing , highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the plentiful breakfast provisions, the very comfortable bed, the cute cottage and the brilliant location.
Cons: The only thing we didn’t like were the 2 fragrance reed diffusers in the rooms - the smell was really quite strong. If you are someone who has allergies to fragrances (like me) it’s definitely worth phoning ahead and asking for the reed diffusers to be removed 24 hours before arrival. It unfortunately really flared up my hay fever. Julia was easy to deal with and everything else was brilliant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was super friendly and went out of her way to assist with recommendations. Highly recommend this property. Clean, comfortable, ideal location and beautiful owner.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great Location
Cons: No draws for clothing . All clothes had to hang from hooks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exactly what we're looking for in a B&B - something a bit more personal than a hotel room while still being affordable. Beautifully set up with quality breakfast provisions; good heating and a great little cafe next door.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Excellent on every level
Cons: Having to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love the ease with which we can book, check in and check out of this gorgeous and very favourite escape location. Breakfast is provided so we can enjoy at our leisure and either room suits both our personalities so we are never phased which one we are able to book. Highly recommend the Fig Cafe Accommodation mot to mention the beautiful Fig Cafe.
Cons: Perhaps a screen between diners and the window and door of accommodation 2 would provide both diners and travellers a little more privacy. I do understand the difficulty of the path but perhaps a vine covered arch would do the job?

Pros: Tasteful decorations. Nice and warm on a cold, wet night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stunning character property with gorgeous features

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent tasteful decor, very interesting library
7.5 Good
Pros: Fantastic house, presentation and decoration is a feast for the eyes. Many thoughtful and attractive touches.
Cons: I'm fine with shared facilities, but I was worried to find the only toilet was in the only bathroom. I woke up really early so I could get in before I had competition. It worked out OK but it didn't make my stay relaxing. When you're older, when you've gotta go, you've gotta go! For this reason I do not feel I can recommend the house to anyone else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second stay there and loved it just as much. So clean and so relaxing. Very well provided for
Cons: N/A
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good atmosphere - a little out of the ordinary. Good base for visiting Castlemaine. Useful material on hand. Quiet location. Thoughtful, considerate preparation of facilities. Very good value.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: clean warm electric blankets
Cons: I was hoping to stay in the old building not out the back courtyard. It was very cold & after long day out room service or food from hotel would have been nice especially if you a paying 5 star prices.Just a bar available. Would have liked to know a bit more of the history of the building nothing in room to tell us.Wi-Fi terrible had a note in in room book about that ....it was because of the thick walls. Reception pleasant but something was missing the lack of it took away the whole feel of building & history.Shame when it could have so much potential.

Pros: Lovely hotel, friendly staff, comfortable bed, decent shower and a quiet location. Bonus was the bakery at rear and proximity to the Botanical Gardens, the Mill and the Railway Hotel.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good location
Cons: Very very disappointing. Expensive, no reception, harassed about our arrival time, got there at 3pm, no one to meet us, no staff in the whole place until next morning. And breakfast. One loaf of bread between 6 guests, unhygienic spreads, when the loaf ran out. Not replaced.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wood stove in lounge area. Very welcoming in the cold weather. Lovely breakfast. Great service.
10.0 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed and pillows were excellent and the rooms were clean and neat We really enjoyed all the random art hung absolutely everywhere. The 'continental' breakfast was generous and a surprise was the barista coffee available.
Cons: All rooms have private bathrooms, but not all are en suite. Not a real problem as the bathrooms are close to the rooms, but we missed this when we booked. The dressing gowns were a great idea to help with this.

Pros: Good value for money! Everything was included in the unit for a one night stay. Delicious breakfast options and farm fresh eggs. The location was very peaceful and we saw lots of beautiful birds. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this property to others.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The extra touches like fly spray, first aid kit it was just like home. There were fresh eggs and real milk in the fridge very well done
Cons: Warmer weather
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We very much enjoyed the cosy accommodation in a beautiful countryside location; fresh eggs and delicious homemade hot cross buns (we stayed at Easter) were included in the provided breakfast
Cons: It would be nice to have an egg boiler included in the kitchenette as there is no hot plate, just an electric frypan
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely rural spot and close to the mountain biking at Harcourt. Quiet, comfortable with super friendly hosts. We will come back for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location and the owners were lovely and very helpful
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The only thing to like was the seclusion.
Cons: Firstly, the bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows were too flat. Not enough crockery and very cheap cutlery. And to top it off no hot water for a shower the morning we were leaving. They did offer me a shower in their own home next door, but I had already dressed and was ready to leave. The choice of breakfast cereal was very poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are a couple going to a 2.00pm wedding in Bendigo with reception at nearby Sutton Grange Winery so we chose this property for its proximity. We had just arrived in Melbourne off the Spirit of Tasmania in the morning. We understood check in was 4.00pm but called the owner on our way and, in addition to giving us detailed instructions for getting to the property, he graciously finished setting up the unit and let us change for the wedding on our way through. We returned for a rest before the reception and he called to let us know he would leave the main house light on so we could find our way home after the reception since there are no street lights. The cottage is very well presented, even a pen to use, and generous breakfast ingredients were supplied for us. If you are staying longer, there is a kitchenette with microwave and saucepans etc for making your own meals.
Cons: No key was supplied to lock up but the owner assured us it was not necessary in the country and they were right next door so would hear if anyone came.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting and well appointed and stylish apartment. very peaceful
Cons: More information on the facilities and some history of the building would have been nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable breakfast. We asked for vegan breakfast and Nicola really went the extra mile with heaps of stuff! Really thoughtful and made out stay. Also photos don’t do the place justice - a truely beautiful space
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicola our host was very helpful to accommodate the babies and communication was excellent. The cottage was styled extremely well and had everything we needed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: As Nicole was away we had Ange as our host. She was very friendly and helpful and made us feel incredibly welcome, inviting us to explore the whole property and had the air con on prior to our arrival. She had her dog and the house dog which was a bonus as we had our puppy with us and they all got along. The house and gardens were beautiful, the views from upstairs were breathtaking, especially early mornings and evenings and the food provided was awesome! The kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was incredibly comfortable with top quality linen. For a small house there seemed to be no shortage of areas in which to relax, watch tv, or read a book. It was within walking distance to the town center.
Cons: Our two day stay just happened to be the hottest days of the year! Downstairs was lovely and cool, upstairs and the bathroom were not as easy to keep cool. Luckily the bed was so comfortable we slept well, even in the heat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicola was very friendly, the place was beautiful and quiet, and we had a great time. Nicola was relaxed about our checkout and drove us to (and from) the station. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of food for a continental breakfast. The bathroom was spectacular and the water pressure excellent. Deco was lovely. One can walk to the town centre and the station, it’s on top of a hill but it’s not far.
Cons: A table and chairs for dining outside would have been even more perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicola has created an amazing and beautiful space for guests in Castlemaine. The quaint cottage charm of the Be&Be home is seamlessly blended with modern features and decor items effectively creating a sense of luxury. I honestly could not fault the accommodation or Nicola's hospitable service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicola is a generous host, we arrived to her cheerfully lit stable house with a fridge filled with beautiful Istra bacon, eggs, yogurt, a selection of quality juices and extra supplies of milk, not to mentioned fresh breads and muesli on the kitchen bench. The house is gorgeously refurbished, artfully and eclecticaly furnished. Whoever is responsible with the styling/design has great eyes and a daft design touch. We loved the personal touches, soft lightings and well considered interiors. The beautiful gardens and landscape completed the perfect setting. We loved the place and cannot wait to come back.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: we will be going back so maybe we shouldnt tell everyboby how comfortable we felt at be&be
10.0 Excellent

Cons: No breakfast provisions.
7.0 Good
Pros: Handy Location and lovely old heritage building
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful and the off street parking was great.. The location was ideal with a short walk to the business district, train station and 20 minutes walk to the Old Mill..
Cons: The room was what it was. It was the cheapest available and very small, i.e. a small rectangle with two single beds. It had no easy chair and the ensuite was tiny. However, it was fine for two nights and you get what you pay for. We would not like that room for an extended stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: No electric blankets
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff neighbourhood cleanliness
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The proprietor was welcoming & super helpful with information on local places of interest. Quiet location, easy parking and just a minute from the city centre.

Pros: The room was lovely, with everything we could ask for in a comfortable motel, the continental breakfast provided was excellent.
Cons: The hotel was not open on 5pm Saturday afternoon when we wanted to have a few drinks and a relax before dinner, we had to go to another pub and that meant we didn't eat at the Albion that night. We did eat at the Albion the night before and enjoyed it very much, so we were disappointed not to be able to do it again on the Sat night.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location is very good, you can go to the Royal and all the cafes without a car. It is good for a group of singles as there are 3 double beds ... everyone got a proper bed. It was clean.
Cons: The heating was very weak - a huge heating unit that probably just needed a service. If you are not warm it takes the edge of everything I'm afraid. My bed's electric blanket didn't seem to work - I found out at 11.30pm when I returned home so was a bit late to ask for assistance. No doonas. No stash of blankets to throw over us. Old bath matts too ... another easy fix.

Cons: Very clean, but could do with a few touch ups in bathroom

Cons: There were light bulbs missing and the heating didn't work so we froze , it was a problem with the wiring because the power points in the bathroom didn't work either. When I called management they offered us a blow heater for the night and told us to turn the electric blanket on in the bed and then said someone must have stolen the light bulbs.......REALLY ???

Pros: The location was great and quiet and only a short walk into town. A little further to some of the other gastro pubs but it is a safe and lovely little town to stroll through.
Cons: The beds were a little firm and you could feel some of the springs. The staff seemed a little unhappy or disinterested but at least the cleaner had a smile and said hello with a little spring in her step!
6.7 Good
Pros: Very large room, clean.
Cons: No WiFi as promised and no response received when asked about it
6.7 Good
Pros: Car parking was good - I felt my car was safe while I slept. Castle Motel is also within easy walking distance of town centre, restaurants etc.
Cons: Cold wind draught under the door on a cold night - but not intolerable as air-conditioning and electric blanket kept me warm.
