10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous little Bed and Breakfast with a beautiful garden situated within walking distance of Burford. The owner - Anna - clearly puts a lot of love and professionalism into making sure her guests lack for nothing. The breakfast was divine with fresh fruits, greek yoghurt, cooked eggs and bacon, fresh OJ, tea and coffee. Although the highlight, for me, was Anna's four little dogs that upon our request were allowed to join us. Excellent lap-warming and entertainment during breakfast! Anna booked us a table at The Angel in Burford for dinner, which is a pleasant 15 min walk away and serves gourmet pub food. The perfect place to round off a perfect experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pytts house is very beautiful & full of pretty details. Our host Anna was very friendly & helpful before & during our short stay. You will have an authentic Cotswold experience with a touch of luxury!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess, Anna, was so gracious and enthusiastic. She was willing to do anything to make our stay a success. Loved Mabel and Molly and Percy and Such. They made my day like home.

Pros: Beautiful old Cotswold stone property with garden. Characterful and charmingly decorated. Room a good size with well sized bathroom. Anna was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. She also provided a lovely breakfast.
Cons: Nothing. Upstairs rooms have a characteristic steep narrow staircase. Fine for us but maybe not for those with limited mobility.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immaculate house with indescribable attention to details. Anna is one of the most hospitable hostess’ we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She made sure nothing was short of a memorable experience at Cotswolds and at her “home away from home“ for her guests. She made great suggestions for dining, hiking, and visiting the Cotswolds. Oh and how can I forget her four most adorable, friendly and welcoming 4-legged committee!
Cons: Everything about the property and our hostess was perfect!

Pros: Well appointed country pub.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spacious , comfortable and immaculate. Nice pub and good food.
Cons: Our room was on the upper floor and on the wing adjacent the pub. We had to carry our cases up a not easy stairs (no lift/elevator).There was no A/C so we had windows open. At 6:00 AM on August Bank Holiday Monday, we were rudely awakened by the arrival and loading of their refuse collection vehicle. We were also unhappy to discover that the location, despite the Witney post code, was a long way outside the town, surrounded by corn fields - nowhere outside the property to enjoy a walk or explore the locality.

7.1 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable.
Cons: The wall/fence we looked out on was rather depressing. Unable to adjust temperature of the shower, it was either very hot or much too hot to stand under. We reported it as faulty but feel things like that ought to be regularly checked. Though the waitress gave us a menu for a cooked breakfast she didn't come back to take an order. Disappointing when we were the only people in the restaurant.

9.2 Excellent (170 reviews)
Overview Reviews

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything and on our next visit we will enjoy a good steak dinner
Cons: Must be down for a good breakfast by 08:45!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food was really good, even though it was a "pizza only" evening on a Thursday; the full English was well cooked, with a perfect poached egg. There is a good range of beers, well served and one offered to take back to the room after dinner; very much appreciated. The pub is walking distance from the white horse and Uffington Castle; a bit further along the Ridgeway is Wayland's Smithy; all can be done in a morning by an average person.
Cons: Rooms are quite basic, but I had a split level twin room with a sitting area downstairs, which was nice. The connecting doors/walls are a bit thin though so you can hear the conversations of louder neighbours. Not the smiliest of staff but actually really pleasant when you get talking and the service was attentive.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, attached to a very dog friendly pub with excellent food and friendly staff, good size bedroom. Welcomed our 2 dogs but at extra cost.

Pros: The situation of Buscot Manor was amazing - short walk to weir and pool which was used for swimming. Our welcome was extremely friendly, and we were given literally free reign of the manor house. We had booked all 3 bedrooms to celebrate our 60th birthdays - taking our children and 3 grandchildren with us. Nothing was too much trouble - an evening meal was cooked especially for our party and we dined in the lovely dining room of the manor, and then as Sunday was really hot, a barbeque was offered so we had no need to leave the tranquil garden

5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location right in the centre of Burford, nice breakfast. Lots of options available and generally friendly staff. Not much else unfortunately.
Cons: I am not sure how I make a complaint, however I'd like to register one. I'd taken my partner away for her birthday (a treat to take her shopping in Bicester with a nice overnight stay) and this was supposed to be a romantic get away for the weekend. Unfortunately, on arrival, the person checking in, whilst friendly, stated that we should "take care as the shower might not work, hopefully it will". I didn't take much notice of it, however come Sunday morning, we tried to make it work and the only thing that came out was at best cold to luke warm water. The temperate control would not turn. Further more, in our room there is clearly a drainage issue as after running the water for about 30 seconds, the bowl of the shower is full of water and takes 15-20 mins to drain away. I therefore had to go down in my pjs to reception to get help, and whilst the waitress did everything she could, she could not get it fixed (she isn't a plumber afterall). I therefore had a very disgruntled partner who could not use the shower and instead of this being a lovely weekend away, it turned into a bit of a disaster as she couldn't shower (you can't wash hair in cold water) and it really put a slant on the weekend. Please can I understand why a room costing £120 has a facility like this and I'd like this complaint to be registered with the owner of the hotel with an explanation please. Afterall, I could stayed in the Premier Inn at the top of road for £20 cheaper, but we chose your place because it had a bit of character and charm about it. However, the facilities were poor, and worse still, it's clear to me that every member of staff knew that this room has issues with the shower as multiple frontline staff stated so. How can the owners sell a room for £120 knowing that this is an issue. It's not acceptable. I've got photos if you want to see them.

Pros: Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Fresh products and well presented. Staff were charming, and especially helpful with gluten free dishes. Comfortable stay and very well situated.
Cons: The shower was barely a trickle but in such an old building that can be expected!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly (Scott, Hilary, Kaz, Kirsten and Alice) and made us and our Westie puppy very welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice on the menu and everything being freshly cooked to order. We ate in the bar every evening during our stay and that too was excellent. There is a lovely courtyard where we sat and enjoyed a drink in the evening sunshine before dinner which was an added bonus. We will definitely return to The Highway Inn.
Cons: Can't think of anything we disliked.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was all right. The staff were very nice with our dog. The inn is located right in the main street, but there are problems.
Cons: The sound of the traffic going past constanly day and night was horrendous, going on all through the night, we had a front bedroom. With having no carpark we had to leave our car away from the Highway Inn.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing. Rooms had so much character and big comfy beds. Staff so personal and great location.
Cons: The shower was very hard to adjust to the right temperature.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the room we had was dog friendly and very spacious. Love this hotel.
Cons: There is very little not to like. As a dog owner an area to walk the dogs would be nice but it was easy enough to go out and walk in the local area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Bay Tree is in a great location with excellent accommodation. The evening meal was fabulous.
Cons: I have a limited diet as I don’t eat gluten or dairy. I asked for either poached or fried egg but was given scrambled which had cream in it. Instead I had berries which were delicious.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked that we were upgraded
Cons: Tenfield Curtains on the runner Be able to shut window, as it was on pavement. Valance on bed, could have been changed. Room needs refreshing Te
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The buffet breakfast was fairly well presented with an assortment of high quality foods. The room was comfortable and well provided for our requirements. The location was excellent and the car parking facility o.k. if a little squashed. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The cooked full english breakfast was served ready plated. There was no option offered to limit or increase the individual amounts on the plate eg: 1 or 2 eggs, extra bacon rasher etc. I have had much better full english cooked breakfasts. I realise that customers do like silver service when dining, but I think self service breakfast should be an option. To have it served when all other items on the breakfast menu are from a buffet, gives the impression that the cooked breakfast ingredients form a very limited item.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! The room was perfect and immaculately clean, the check in was easy and quick, the service from all the staff was amazing
Cons: The only slightly negative thing I can think of is that we had no idea where to park, the street parking was full and there were no signs for a carpark

Pros: Location
Cons: Water pressure poor in room (Shilton)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices & very friendly and prompt service. Quality of food was excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room
Cons: More choice in restaurant menu
8.3 Excellent
Cons: the menu in bar and restaurant

Cons: if we had been staying more than one night in the hotel we would of become restless within the hotel itself, due to lack of activities , shame it has no gym, spa or beauty treatments ,swimming pool or any sports ( tennis golf etc )
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception and waiting staff are very friendly and helpful, The rooms are comfortable, and it is so nice to have a restaurant on site as well as a bar. Grounds are lovely and well kept. The location is ideal for Oxford and the Cotswolds
Cons: The dining menu could do with a better wider selection especially if you stay for more than two nights. I understand the current chef is leaving which is a blessing as his chef whites wouldn't have looked out of place in an slaughter house! very off putting!! Bar can be noisy if too many guests are in there, especially if you are in the rooms above

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is outstanding! Truly a village with rooms, restaurants etc located in different old neighboring country estates that in sum has been turned into the hotel, surrounded by lush gardens, winding footpaths and giant majestic old trees. I have never seen a hotel this beautiful and unique. Everything is also very well kept, plus service was excellent and the food very good.
Cons: The pool could have been a bit warmer, and obviously the price is high - but then again Thyme is a league above other hotels in the area with the same price tag
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this place, so much so I went back the following week. So chilled out, relaxing and pretty so tastefully Done.
Cons: Can’t fault this place one bit, the only suggestion would be maybe to offer some fruit and pre order/lunch deliver service

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place was beautiful and the food delish. Major service issues w all new employees had no idea of what’s going on.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, stunning rooms, lovely pool all kept very clean and pretty. Staff are lovely, breakfast and dinner both really good. We loved our stay and definitely would go back.
Cons: Not able to get any food at the premises after 2pm so if you get a little peckish in the late afternoon bring some snacks but it wasn’t a major problem, I guess I’m just used to having everything available all the time in London.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and hotel are stunning and the staff and incredibly helpful and friendly. There is a wide selection of pubs/bars so lots of places to relax and enjoy the property.
Cons: The check-in time of 4pm is very late so you feel unable to really enjoy the property. It's not a massive issue but I think a few extra hours would be nice.

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely buildings and rooms. We had an electrical problem in our which was being fixed but we were offered and even better room in the new block that had not been fully commission yet that was stunning. Food in the restaurant was fantastic as well
Cons: 2 very minor quibbles. 1. The hot water for the bath in the new rooms was not hot enough- I’m sure will be sorted by the times rooms are fully commissioned. (Sorry that we forgot to mention this when we checked out) 2. Had to wait 20mins for our table at dinner and were only seat when we approached them for the 3rd time. Food though was well worth the wait
9.6 Excellent

Pros: Friendly staff. Good To have tea, coffee and cakes and a fridge to use. Room was very clean.

Pros: We liked how central it was with easy parking. Lovely homemade cakes. ( if you leave a review)lovely touch. Lounge area. Breakfast was fabulous.
Cons: The staff where pleasant but dealt with you as fast as they could so they could get back to what they where doing. Toilet didn’t flush well. It looked clean but run your fingers crossed the top of the doors Offt not good. Even when you open the door to our room you can see the thick dust. I really don’t like giving bad reviews but if you had taken that 1 minute & asked. I would have told you rather than writing it on here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in attractive area near centre of Witney. Comfortable beds. Wide choice of breakfast food with hot food cooked to order
Cons: It was a hot night so a single sheet to cover would have been good as duvet was a bit warm

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and all staff were super friendly and helpful. The conservatory was a really cosy space where you could relax and chat over a complimentary hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
Cons: What brought the experience down was the beds, very hard and uncomfortable which made sleep less restful. We had a twin room, two single beds, so our experience can only be based on that.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good choice of items for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing apart from parking.
