With a stay at Fårösunds Fästning in Fårösund, you'll be 8.7 mi (14.1 km) from Blue Lagoon and 12.3 mi (19.7 km) from Sudersandsviken. Featured amenities include luggage storage and coffee/tea in a common area.
Pros: We completely enjoyed our one night here. The hotel is charming and the staff was friendly & helpful. And it was wonderfully quiet.
Pros: Out of the ordinary to stay in an old fort
Cons: Shower needed some cleaning and mattress was too soft
Pros: The design and layout of the place is very nice and the staff was friendly with good service. The grill buffet was tasty and so was the wine as well.
Cons: The family in room next door with young children could be heard, very late and very early. The sound isolation was not up to the task. Pillow was small and very synthetic. The experience was not in line with the price.
Pros: A quiet place in the middle of nowhere. The rooms and public areas are beautifully furnished with exclusive Swedish furniture. Great breakfast, served on the terrace overlooking the sea. Free bikes, sun beds all over the place, very friendly staff. Perfect for small company meetings.
Pros: This hotel was very unique in architecture and interior design. Sauna and spa were nice bonus.
Pros: Gotland lamb for dinner is super delicious. Wine selection is just fine.
Pros: Perfect place to combine comfort with bicycling.
Pros: Not much... It could have been great but everything from entree to room and public spaces in the hotel were miserable.
Cons: The entree. This one looked like I was walking in through the kitchen or something. The hotel. It was sloppy and degenerative everywhere, like the owners didn´t care about the place. The rooms. They were built with one glass wall (!) facing the open and public spaces. It made light and sun come into the room. No good curtains made light also come in from the corridor at night. Payment. They did not give us a receipt for the stay.
Pros: Breakfast and Terrace outside is lovely. Nice with free bikes. Alternative hotel setting and grounds was fun. Kids enjoyed small inside pool.
Cons: Small ants in children's room (ours was fine). Hotel felt it was still being set up for summer with some photo frames on floor in corridor and tables/chairs for outside area still stacked, hot tub covered etc. Dinner wasn't available.
With a stay at STF Bunge Vandrarhem in Fårösund, you'll be 6.8 mi (11 km) from Blue Lagoon and 11 mi (17.6 km) from Blase Mortar Museum. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We had the place to ourselves. A giant living room and a complete kitchen, including a nice breakfast.
Pros: good location, nice and clean place
Cons: It wasn't possible to cancel the sheets and towels on booking.com, so I suggest to call the hostel directly if you do not need sheets and towels.
Pros: The shared kitchen and living room are quite spacious. The staff was kind and friendly. It's only 5 minutes by car from the ferry to Fårö.
Cons: Even if everything seemed to be clean, the kitchen was full of ants. We were a bit unlucky to share the block with many guys who woke up early and were very noisy... The bedroom was not very big, but enough for 2 persons.
Pros: -clean studio with kitchen and bathroom -super nice bed -breakfast -owner
Pros: Room was bigger and warmer than we expected, breakfast was also good. Hostel is situated in an interesting place and it is comfortable to get to the Farosund by bike, which you can rent there, at the hostel.
Cons: We stayed almost alone in the building, so the shower room was always free but I do not think that it is comfortable to use it when there are a lot of people because of its design: you have to leave your clothes at the same place where other people wash hands and there is no place inside the shower to leave a towel.
Cons: Clean and nicea
Pros: Great location to explore Farosund and the island of Faro which is easily reachable from there with a bike. Spacious bungalows, very clean.
Pros: Very helpful stuff, clean and pleasant room
Pros: Very good and friendly staf
Pros: Everything was great! Thank you!
Set a 10-minute walk from the popular Sudersand Beach on Fårö Island, this B&B is housed in an 1850s limestone house. It offers an on-site restaurant and bright rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests at Fårögården Bed & Breakfast have access to a communal lounge with a TV, board games and free tea and coffee. Relaxation options include a garden and a terrace. Bicycles can be rented on site. Children will have fun in the playground. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in Fårögården’s restaurant every day. Barbecue facilities are provided on site. Several hiking trails are found in the surrounding area. The UNESCO-listed Visby town centre is a 1.5-hour drive away.
Pros: Nicely designed living room and garden, the shared two bathrooms and one toilet is more than enough to cover all the guests. Room is small but cozy. Good location — 8 mins drive to Bergman center and Faro Church, in 17 mins’ driving distance, you can reach all the best natural view spots on Faro island (free parking is another plus). Very friendly property owner, we felt welcomed, will definitely come back if we visit Faro again.
Cons: Breakfast has too little selection, and it doesn’t open on weekends —— be careful, it’s extremely hard to find a place to eat in Faro, especially after 4pm, be prepared to go all the way back to Farosund for a proper meal.
Pros: Amazing location. Really lovely staff. Super awesome breakfast, fresh baked bread and local produce.
Cons: Beds were separate for a couple sharing. Had to share bathroom, but knew both of these things in advance.
Pros: Comfy bed, cozy lounge.
Cons: Can’t drink the tap water - and staff forgot to give us a heads up about it.
Pros: Breakfast outdoors.
Cons: Rooms are a little small.
Pros: delicious homemade bread, breakfast is very good, and the restaurant for dinner is great. you can rent bikes with baby seats, too. Very friendly family: Ali gives lots of tips for hikes and nice beaches
Pros: The restaurant was fantastic!
Cons: all in all it was a good place to stay, nothing that was bad in particular.
Pros: The location was very good, the nearby/ belonging restaurant had excellent food. We rented a tandem bike and went to the night house which was great.
Pros: The cabins were great and the owners were helpful and really welcoming
Cons: Booking.com doesn't mention that you need to rent linen and towels for the cabin. You will also need to bring things like shampoo and soap. It is not a big problem, but it would have been good to know ahead of time.
Pros: Great location- easy walk to the beach. Very quiet. Comfortable rooms. Nice restaurant ( remember to book a table- it’s very popular and probably the best restaurant in Fårö). Beautiful part of Fårö.
Cons: Needs some TLC. Accommodation is expensive in Sweden but they could try a bit harder. Breakfast was just ok. No fresh fruit, no jam. Really just the minimum acceptable.
With a stay at Valleviken Hotell & Restaurang in Larbro, you'll be 8.7 mi (14 km) from Judges Lunden and 10.1 mi (16.3 km) from Blase Mortar Museum. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: very nice owners quiet and peaceful during week 34 would like a ladder into water from the steps at the outer end of guest harbour
Cons: access into deep water for swimming
Pros: Cosy private cottage with all the necessary equipment and large outdoor space with trampoline in very nice location by small harbour with lively restaurant. I would go here again for a longer stay!
Cons: Can be just a bit noisy in the evening. The beach is small, overgrown, the water tempting but very shallow other than for little kids
Pros: Good breakfast Own terrace
Cons: Because of missing air-con and warm weather, room was hot Price of the room was a little bit high.
When you stay at STF Östra Flygeln Bunge Vandrarhem in Fårösund, you'll be 13 minutes by car from Blue Lagoon. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Self contained student apartment. Great location and nice and clean
Pros: Nice location in Fårösund, close to ferry to Fårö and a short walk to central Fårösund. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Could have been a bit more equipped kitchen. More outside furniture would be good.
Pros: Clean and simple.
Cons: No communication from property for key, bedding, WiFi, and payment. I was lucky to see a couple at the door that were staying there, who let me in and called the owner for me to find out me room number and where key was. The got bedding for me. Lucky for me, otherwise I would have been without a place for the night. Not acceptable.
Cons: The room was very basic and had no air conditioning in the heat of July.
Pros: Less than 10 minute walking from the bus station, the ferry to Fårö and ICA supermarket. Big room and bathroom, everything very clean. Very quiet in the evening. Kitchen very well equipped.
Cons: The reception is very far away!!! I had to walk more than 20 minutes for paying the accommodation since it is in a different Fårösund neighborhood. So it is better to rent a bike or drive a car.
Pros: The location of the Östra Flygeln of the Bunge Vandrahem is nice and quiet, with much green around. The room was simple (it´s a Vandrahem after all), but clean and had a fully equipped kitchenette. The ICA on the main road is not too far and if one uses public transport it´s always good to still grab some food stuff before heading back. A big plus is the very nice and tasty breakfast in the main building - if you care to walk 1 1/2 km for it...!
Cons: The room, though beeing very clean, had an unpleasant smell of unwashed clothes, which took some time for me to get rid of it... As already said, to reach the main building complex where the reception is and where you get the breakfast, it takes a walk of at least 20 minutes, most of it on the main road, which in Summer can be quite arduous, since there is hardly any shade. So, if you are traveling entirely with public transport (meaning, no car, motocycle or also bicycle), it is probably recommendable to rather stay in the main complex....
Pros: Personal- exselent. Very nice! Thanks!
