The setting of the hotel is lovely, overlooking rolling countryside, with the Alps in the distance. The community around it is quiet and restful. Only a short 15 minute drive to the S-Bahn station at Aying, with ample parking, which will take you right into the heart of Munich. The hotel has an old church on the grounds, from the 12th century, which is lovely, and the hotel itself has been refurbished and modernized. I loved that we could open the windows and sit and look out at the country. The room met our needs, and we were very happy with our stay. The restaurant was spacious, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. WiFi internet was available and free, though the connection was poor at times, No problem with parking.
It can be a bit of a challenge to find, without a GPS, especially if arriving in the dark or bad weather. There was no one at reception when we arrived, but our key was waiting for us, so we figured it out. No coffee making facilities in the rooms, which would have been nice, but the staff was very nice to prepare us a thermos of coffee to take to our room in the morning. Though shown as a double bed, it was actually 2 singles put together; which would have been ok if there had been an extra blanket we could have used to pad the wood frame in the middle. And the fan in the bathroom, which came on every time you put on the light, had a high pitch squeal to it. None of these things were a big problem, just worth noting.
Good value clean and comfortable hotel, with large bedroom and bathroom in great countryside setting.
Unusal in that there were no curtains in the bedroom.
The proprietor, Georg, was outstanding in his care for us. He guided us in by cell phone when we were lost in the Bavarian countryside after dark, cooked excellent meals, took care of our laundry and provided perfect directions to the train station and local tank stelle. The food here was great. The price was reasonable. I just wish we could have seen the view of the Alps from this hotel during our 3 day stay but nature didn't cooperate. The view must be stunning. We commuted to Munich using the S Bahn from here.
The breakfast was very good - og so was the service. We had hot drinks and egs at our own choice, that where made fresh.
It is placed far far away from everything. There is nothing to do for children.
When you stay at Landguthotel Zur schönen Aussicht in Feldkirchen-Westerham, you'll be 12 minutes by car from Golfclub Mangfalltal. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
