It was comfortable with seating outside so that the children could play outside. The car park was too low for my car to fit in, even though I had paid for the use of the car park.
Great location short walk to the city center and very nice and helpful staff. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Garage was a little hard to get out of with an American SUV.
Room decor, professional staff, amenities Room was set up for two, and not three people, as was reserved. Prices for mini bar were a bit pricey. Charge for parking is unusual.
friendly, helpful and efficient staff, good breakfast, wifi in room, good temperature control no extra pillow in the room, slightly longish walk if your purpose is the city centre (but taxis quick and cheap)
very good breakfast poor quality of the bed, especially the pillows
There was poor reception, simply there was no one ore they where in the back and not giving attention to someone at the bar ore desk
a lot of space in the room.
Lots of space in our "studio" room, with a sitting room as well as a bedroom. Very good parking under the hotel. The third person in our triple room had only a truckle bed, not comfortable. Service at dinner very slow.
Not enough towels, Plumbing problems, but taken care of.
This hotel was wonderful!
Location is a bit far from downtown than expected while the accomodation fee is not so much economical and the breakfast is rather expensive.
Great location in the heart of the walk platz.
great service, nice rooms airco wasn't working properly
The comfort, breakfast and location.
the lack of internet facilities in the room brings down the standing of the hotel
Very central location!
Excellent Hotel in heart of city. Good for shops, restaurants and Roman sites. Breakfast vast and lovely. Spa good. Staff very good and speak different languages. Cark park next door and easy to find with GPS.
Breakfast The bathroom was rather small and not 4*. I wonder what was superior about this room? It wasn't any larger than any others, the bathroom ws tiny!
Although the room we booked ended up being a twin, the management upgraded us to a suite with a king size bed for a small increase in rate. All standard/superior rooms are twin beds.
Extremely good location in relationship to the town centre The hotel was more geared to business travelers tan to tourists
Very helpfull staff, private parking which is locked at night, walking distance from center and with breakfast included in the price how can you complain!!!!
It was one of the last accommodation places to chose from Trip Advisor. Breakfast food was fresh. You get what you pay for. Accommodation really cheap very basic motel.
Good welcome. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and clean room. Hotel appearance did not match website in appearance or location. Towels in room worn out. N o restauran although onwebsite for evening meals. Very shabby first impressions.
The room was very comfortable
Friendly helpful owners. Interesting old dining room Rather run down
Siting on the terrace The staff was very ready, helper. The mattress of the bed was used up.
Very warm and friendly people! The room I stayed in was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was OK, good quality/price ratio.
the staff were very friendly and helpful
I found staff friendly and helpful; a good breakfast was provided. I chose the hotel for low price and location. I would describe it as cheap and cheerful. When you buy a room at one of the lowest cost hotels in the city you do not expect luxury. What I got was a small comfortable room. The downside was that my room was next to the night entrance to the hotel andimmediately opposite was a church. There was a lot of bellringing on the Sunday morning !!
very nice staff the curtain in my room was not complete
We have been staying in the hotel before and we returned for the good food and the ambiance of the hotel. Very warm and romantic. The beds are a bit too soft.
Overall quality of the hotel. The room provided was a suite with full separate lounge Breakfast and room service food is totally German. No concessions to visotors from other countries. OK if you like liver, or potatoes with sour cream.
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The massages and turkish baths were fantastic too. No air-conditioning which ment you had to open the windows. The busy roads and noisy cars woke us up early every morning.
Restaurant was A1 top rated. The rooms were nice and clean. The STAFF was awesome...went out of their way to help. The staff Spoke english very well. would stay again. The bus stop was 25 meters from the hotel which went into town in 5 min...a nice walk if your into fitness. location, way from downtown. But it was ok to walk 1.3 miles (not KM). not a reason not to stay
Very 'old-German' in style but the rooms are large and well fitted. Even a single room has a lounge attached. No
Nice location and very good food and wines in the restaurant.
Traditional German quality and style
Staff was very good, and the restaurant super !
The whole experience was excellent. Staff, comfort, food, service, pool, value. Everything
The rustic atmosphere Distance from city center
The hotel was very clean and the room, while small, looked like it had been recently renovated - it was quite nice. While the hotel did not have free parking as a rule, the owner was very nice and allowed me to park in the back area of the hotel overnight. Like most affordable European hotels, the room was quite small. However, as I was on my own, this was not a real problem.
Comfortable basic room, very clean and satisfactory. The proprietress could not have been more friendly or helpful. The food was very good and at a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone not requiring 5* facilities
The innkeeper staff was very nice and cordial. The innkeeper did not speak English, and my parents (who stayed there with me) spoke no German, but the innkeeper was able to get her points across and provided an excellent stay there.
A really excellent breakfast, unlimited good coffee and orange juice, freshly prepared fried eggs or omelette. The window coverings in the bedroom were just very sheer drapes, no curtains or blinds. No full length mirror.
A small, simple and good place to stay. It is close to the old part of the city.
good location (very near to Casa Chiara), good breakfast, nice garage breakfast room was too small and easy, as well as everything in hotel for the price
The nature of the Eiffel and the city of Trier Nothing
Staff friendly and helpful. Great location. Wireless available. Breakfast adequate. Overall excellent experience. Highly recommended. Cannot think of anything.
Location of hotel to Trier city landmarks, friendliness of staff, quiet room, cleanliness, breakfast and overall experience No complaints!
Everything! Clean, Modern, Great Location, Comfortable, Good Breakfast, Helpful Staff. Parking garage was unlit at night...very, very dark! But, hey they had parking and it was right at the hotel.
You can't beat the location, free wifi and included breakfast for the price. The best value in all my European tour.
Great welcome from the owner. After a long drive, help with our luggage was much appreciated. Staff were very pleasant and courteous throughout our stay.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was very convenient to the historic sites, shopping and restaurants in Trier. It was also close to the train station.
The staff and hotel were were very friendly. I did not like the location of the hotel. Too far out of town.
Friendly helpful staff. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The hospitality and willingness to help.
A very quaint, historic building that was modified to be very comfortable. Also, the evening meal and breakfast was outstanding. Really wasn't as close to the historic city as the information seemed to indicate.
This hotel was undergoing some building but this did not hinder our stay, the workmen were quite and left no mess, to be honest we didnt really know that they were in the hotel. I was worried at first stight of them but this was stort lived. It was a little way out but once we found it, it was fine
Friendliness of owner and staff. No comments in this section.
Bedroom nice and clean and the staff (owners?) Location and breakfast
good cosy place just outside the town of Trier. Good deal of sound from the vehicles/cars passing by on the street comes into the rooms, that is really disturbing in the night. If you are a light sleeper then avoid staying here.
Comfortable room, delicious breakfast.
Big Bathroom No clean
The decor in the hotel was done very tastefully. We loved it. The staff were also quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a wide choice and quite filling. That it was far away from the main town
Pleasant staff, reasonable room although rather dated. Rocky toilet bowl, unreliable and badly placed proximity lighting switches.
love3ly friendly people --good meals
Is not worth 3 stars !
Close to the motorway. Nice restaurants 15 minutes walk from the hotel. There was a very little attention at our arrival. No service. We had made a reservation for the hotel restaurant (dinner) per e-mail but had no reply and the restaurant was closed at our arrival. At our departure the bill was not completed and we received later on an extra bill - that should have been included by our departure.
good service man No lift. I booked non-smoking room, but the smoke still went to the room from the bar on one floor.
Good range of items available at breakfast, and the evening meals were superb - well cooked and presented, and very generous size portions. The location directly opposite the local train station was particularly useful. None.
Breakfast Buffet included Hot food(Scrambled Egg ) also this was self service so ideal for those in a hurry good location for rail Travellers accross road from station Dining room large portions at Dinner No Lift
Superb location and friendly staff
Beautiful setting, friendly staff
room and bathroom were good. Comfortable beds. We booked a room facing the lake. When we arrived, there was no room like this available anymore. Because there were no other rooms (including the superior and suites) avaible, the hotel offered us a discount of 20 euro on a normal room. We were not happy about this, but had no choice if we wanted a place to sleep. Next to our window was the exhaust of the cooker hood which started at 7 am with a lot of noise.
Breakfast above average, parking facilities are limited but I always parked with the hotel's door in sight Nothing to visit within walking distance
Very clean, great service - very nice people that like to help.
The room was very clean. It wasn't made clear quite how far away from the city centre it was.
Friendly and very good comfort.
good restaurant.... delicious pizza in their restaurant. impossible to find a parking place and bad sonore isolation, I hear neighbors talking at 3 am
Clean. Zewen a very quaint town which we enjoyed more than Trier for just strolling and enjoying the atmosphere. Actually located in Zewen, a town close to Trier but challenging to get from one to the other when you have never been there.
quiet location with a neighborhood feel. Convenient restaurant. It was a little far from down town trier but not too far, maybe 10 minutes.
Very good breakfast, Very helpfull staff.
Very clean and comfortable. Handy Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. It is about 8km outside Trier so not very convenient for visiting the city. Useful if you are travelling on to Luxembourg though.
Good breakfast but could have been better. Nice room. Hard to find
Very conveneient location just on the outskirts of Trier with convenient parking and an easy bus-ride in to the city.
Spacey room. Friendly staff. Nice (bier)garten with hotel's own beer and good food to relax after hot days in German Rally. We had the package containing welcome drink, one full mean and a decent bottle of beer on the road. Well worth of the extra. It is a bit too far from the center to just take a casual walk.
just far enough out of town centre
Convenient location with a 15 minute walk to the town centre, comfortable room, friendly staff and good menu at reasonable prices. No
We were very impressed with the facilities, staff and food at this Hotel. We were happy to walk to and from the City although a bus does stop right outside the hotel. Would stay here again! None
Indoor swimming pool and infrared cabin for free, inhouse micro-brewery, good breakfast included, own parking facilities. Food in "Brausaal" restaurant after 22.00 hours not recommended: limited choice and preparation could be better (soup ultra-hot, baked patatoes almost burned, etc.); no separate toileteries supplied (only liquid soap).
Excellent service from all the Staff, and of great help in providing assistance.
The microbrewery that was part of the hotel. Helpful staff. It was further from the town than anticipted from the web page but we found a good path trhough local allotments that made it a pleasant walk.
They were very friendly and ready to answer any questions we had about getting around in town.
kind stuff, very good breakfast , 10 min to city and even internet although it was said it is not provided
We especially enjoyed our rooms, they were both facing the Mosel River and the old Roman Bridge. We could watch the river traffic and the water fowl that stayed on the river bank beneath our windows. It was fun and really a great setting, we felt very fortunate. We also enjoyed the Romerbrucke's dining room. The meals were exceptional, some of the very best during our entire stay in Germany! If you should stay there and eat in the dining room and like fish, order the Baked Salmon. We rented two rooms, both faced the Mosel River and The old Roman Bridge. Our rooms could not have had better views. The dining experience was superb, we enjoyed excellent meals in an attractive setting. We also appreciated the elevator. We all three enjoyed our stay and have no complaints.
We were pleasantly surprised that we had been given a modern suite rather than a bedroom. The facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was large and bright with a pleasant outlook across the river and breakfast was excellent - would return if back in Trier
Location,right on the river none
Staff were very friendly and the room was large with plent of space. Clean and bright, no real view. However, the restaurant had a lovely view over the river and an easy walk to the town centre. The parking was across the road in an open air area and although there was no problem it did not seem very secure.
Clean and tidy, large rooms, easy walking distance to city centre (if the weather is dry) parking across the road from Hotel, good variety for breakfast The Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays!, a little pricey for a 3* hotel, shower cubicle grubby
Not in busy area - but within walking distance to center. Hotel staff was excellent
Location and breakfast were good. Our room faced the street, which was noisy. If we closed the window, however, it was rather hot.
Good size room
Room was clean and beds comfortable. Practical bathroom. While travelling around this is what counts after a long day. As pensioners, carrying luggage up 3 flights of stairs is always not easy after a day of travelling and a lift would have helped. Maybe I should have asked for rooms on on a lower level.
Good location. Nice helpful staff. Clean rooms
The staff were pleasant and helpful. They placed a telephone call for me and allowed me to leave my bags at the hotel for a few hours after I checked out. Also, their breakfast buffet was extensive and generous.
Friendly staff, clean room and very good breakfast
quiet, nice people, large breakfast buffet, very clean room bathroom was poorly lit, flesh smell due to the the butchery downstairs
The staff was just wonderful
Central location, secure parking A cooked breakfast would have been nice
The breakfast was very good. We received a free town map. Easy to walk to the town centre. There was no lift in the building and we were on the top floor (3 flights), not suitable for people with mobility issues. The room was freezing, we couldn't get the heating to work, had to sleep in bed socks and thick clothes. There is not adequate parking. We had to park on the road which was chargeable as there was no space left in the car park.
I liked the waiting room in the front of the hotel. (Newspaper and coffee available). Place had a laudramat. Staff was very helpful. Parking lot is extremely small (maybe 2 or 3 cars can fit)
The availability of low-cost, street parking immediately opposite to the hotel (there was very limited and very difficult parking at the hotel itself) The strong smell of spiced sausages all the way up the stairway (the hotel premises are shared with a butcher's shop). This was, however, not a problem within the rooms.
Friendly welcoming staff; quiet location fairly close to city; cleanliness; good food Bedroom looking 'tired' - could do with a makeover
Location was amazing, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, I felt at home immediately.
The spa, breakfast, restaurant and location
Nice spa area, friendly staff, good accessible by car, It's a bit out of town center
The location and rate.
location and the food you can't pay with travellers checks
everything, once we found it!
Easy to find, free parking, friendly staff, quiet rooms. small shower cubicle.
Room was good, staff very helpful when we needed somewhere secure to leave our bikes. We had our evening meals at the hotel, just need to be aware that the menu in the 'proper' restaurant is slightly different to that in the bar.
value large amount of construction on front of building/next building March 2007
on a cycling holiday, secure bike storage, and able to leave car there. Very friendly and helpful people.excellent breakfast
Friendly staff, spacious room, excellent breakfast Location (the hotel is 8 km away from the centre of Trier); it is located by the road, so it is quite noisy.
The surroundiings: on 7 km from Trier centre, in the middle of woods near river Mosel. Nice cycling surroundings! Nice city nearby. A real 'hotel de charme'
The restaurant proposes excellent Mediterranean style cuisine and good wines from mosela valley in a pleasant patio. Very practical and gratis access to Wireless internet. The staff is sympathetic and available.
Friendly hotelstaff, nice big room for the value of money. Good breakfast. À lot of attention to make you feel comfotable. 10 min. driving to Trier so very near. Beautifull surroundings and good bakery's just around the corner. Nice outside terras. Parking will maybe be a little crowdy in High season..
The Restaurant staff and food at the restaurant were terrific, knowledgable and very helpful. The room was a good size and bathroom was very well appointed. The hotel staff were no where to be seen to answer questions and help access the promised free Internet. Their reliance on the professionalism and goodwill of the restaurant management and cleaning staff to help hotel clients was unsatisfactory hotel managment. No Internet throughout out stay at the hotel, making onward bookings difficult to confirm. The town has little else to offer an international tourist.
Excellent personal service and care of the Hotel owner The distance to the centre of Trier, you have to go by bus with the car as it's about 8 km
I'd stay at this hotel again. We had a quad room on the ground floor, and it actually had a separate second bedroom. The rooms were good-sized, including the bathroom. The bathroom contained a large shower and separate tub, as well as decent towels and a robe. We were also provided with a large bottle of mineral water. The buffet breakfast was good and plentiful. The outdoor terrace looked very pleasant; I wish it had been warmer so we could have enjoyed it. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we went there for a glass of wine in the evening, and the food that I saw pass by from the kitchen looked tasty! The hotel is situated near a pizza place and a bakery if you're hungry but don't want to eat at the hotel. The only thing I'd point out is that the hotel isn't located within the main city of Trier. It's in a pleasant little neighborhood a bit north of the city center, so you probably wouldn't want to stay here if you want to be within walking distance of the main sites.
atmosphere, friendly helpful staff noisy, no soaps
Beautifully furnished (family) room, mediterrenean style One of the best we had. Beds as good as at home. Beautiful bathroom. Friendly owner and a good atmosphere. Nothing
Relaxed atmosphere. Good staff who responded very well to requests. Good value.
Pleasant location, exceptionally clean and pleasant decent sized room with balcony overlooking valley. Very good, well stocked buffet breakfast. We visited the "wellness centre" upon two occasions but the steam bath was not working and no water in the jacuzzi and no staff on duty at either time to help. Spoke to reception who were very "matter of fact" and not really helpful.
Nice hotel in a nice area, perfect for visiting Trier. The city is only 10 minutes drive away but the hotel is in a different world surrounded by vineyards on the hills. The restaurants kitchen is excellent just like their own wines they serve with the food. I will return for sure.
We pretty much liked everything about this hotel. Due to an error in the booking our junior suite was not available. We were upgraded to the house suite which was very beautiful. The dinner was very good and the Weingut's own wine served with it was excellent. Good price/quality No
Was a scenic location. Limited English. Seemed more focus on other items and not so much on hotel guests.
Though tucked away this hotel is one of the best hotels of the many that we have stayed in in Germany over a number of years.Room size and comfort excellent. Breakfast very generous with a good choice. Good quality typical dinner and good value.
good food.good over night stop.
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice room in quiet location. Bar full of smokers. Needs clear directions to address.
The service was great and rooms are clean, nice and comfortable.
Can't complain, everything was OK - breakfast was OK, however breakfast lady didn't speak English. Sheets were clean and bed was soft, plenty of towels. Nothing to complain about, had no issues whatsoever.
Helpfull staff, and good value for money, good location if you have a car and driving along the Mosel Valley
Location very convenient for Trier ,Luxembourg and rivers.Quiet suburb setting. Friendly family run bar and restaurant. Bathroom small.
Presentation of rooms good, bedding crisp and clean. Breakfast included nice fresh bread rolls and was pleasant standard German breakfast (ie bread, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs). Although hadn't initially provided the extra bed we had requested, this was provided promptly once reminded. Check-in is strictly after 4pm - the doors are locked and nobody is there until then! Access to rooms is via the bar which is very smoky, not ideal for a family group, more designed for solo male travellers. Carpet was sticky in places!
comfortable family hotel, colse to Trier. n.v.t.
Friendly staff, really good breakfast, nice rooms
We found the staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and completely functional. the stairs were hard work but only because we are lazy. breakfast was very good.
Excellent hotel: modern, clean and in great location. Almost hate to mention that it is a "best value on the internet" ... prefer they do not now put their prices up. Seriously this is super value on the edge of the pedestrian area of a reasonably large, very safe and thoroughly interesting city. Rooms tops!
lokation the apartament size at brekfast they took as to the club room
The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful, Our room was spacious and delightful the breakfast was wonderful. We really loved our stay here and would reccomend it to anyone. We would like to have been able to have had an evening meal there as the food we had there was of such high quality. The location was also excellent.
Walking distance to city center with great shopping places to go.
We liked the fact you had a seperate living area and bedroom. The hotel was convenient for the centre of Trier
It was very unusual in that it was a residence for the elderly as well as a hotel. The room was clean and large and it had a very unusual courtyard full of sculptures and tables and gardens. The residents were very helpful. The front desk clerk was not very nice. She could have helped us find our room and didn't tell us about the afternoon refreshments.
quiet, comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Good location. The place is a part of house for elderly people so it is not the best atmosphere for a vacation. When we arrived the breakfast area was presented to us however in the morning we have been kicked out from there to another room with no food in it (few other people that came later were allowed to use the breakfast area), so we had to go from one place to another to get the food. At that time exactly, the floor between those areas was washed and was slippery.
Helpful reception staff;shower withno step or cabinet; choice to eat breakfast in or outsidein pleasant garden needed more than net curtains in the bedroom
Very good room facilities (in fact they were suites), very good position, secure underground car park The 2 rooms we booked were a long way apart
The view looking onto Porta Nigra.
The location and view were spectacular! The beds were a little hard. Otherwise, the rooms were perfect!
The location and the fact that the staff were just lovely, in particular when I hurt my foot and they supplies endless ice and support The cost of breakfast but outside of this it was excellent. You could not pick a better spot to enjoy the city, day or night.
A very nice hotel located at the historic gate of the ancient city.
Good location The all-pervasive smell of smoke: lobby, elevators, restaurant, corridors, room (supposedly non-smoking). Hotel needs to be fumigated.
Cleanliness of the hotel, staff and facilities were good and across the road from the main square.
the location is perfect, and we had a real feel at home feeling no remarks
The convenience to the city
The view was great and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved everything nothing bad to report.
location near the city
Excellent value for money, with extras such as dressing gowns, slippers, comb etc. However, no hot breakfast - would prefere hot breakfast over complimentary slippers! Still excellent value though. Good location, about 5 mins to Trier by car. Free parking. Quiet. Our room was smokey. Pillows did not have any 'bulk' to them, felt like you were not leaning your head on anything.
Decent comfort, nothing special but good. We had a street room, it was a bit noisy
Good location (5 miles from Trier); good on-site parking; nice breakfast (omlettes cooked to order, fresh bread, etc). Matresses on the beds were a liltte thin. No satellite tv.
Breakfast was good. Terrible location. It seemed like we were right on the edge of a bad neighborhood.
Hmm , it was allright. But nothing special. We only picked it cause we were on our way to Luxembourg and needed a plae to sleep close to the border. The sauna was a nice extra The beds were not comfortable. Woke up with my back hurting !
Parking and breakfast were included. A hairdryer was not available.
