Absolutely stunning place! A really special experience. Delightful host, and a great little restaurant in the nearby village.
No water supply to wash basins, no toiletries or tv as listed in the website. No restaurant available. The host claimed he sent an email explaining that there was no restaurant but I did not receive it or a phone call.
You have really that impression to stay at a middle age castle but with all contemporary comforts included
I traveled for a professional reason, so I needed my Invoice. I asked twice but I never got it. I am still waiting for it and I am going to consult my lawyer to finally find the way to get my Invoice.
The Property is a Small Chateau with a lot of history, the Grounds and Decor of the chateau are lovely. the Dining room was lovely and also some of the Bedrooms We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to find the chateau gates shut. The owners have 2 dogs so I have to presume the closing of the gates is to make sure the dogs don't go chasing rabbits.
Did not like being questioned at the gate as to who we were and at first being asked to return later! The Chateau was not ready for us. We sat outside in the sunshine and had drinks which we had bought with us, then we purchased more from the chateau owners. on arrival I introduced myself saying I had a booking and was informed that I had been given an upgrade! We were 3 couples and I had booked 2 rooms, with the other couple booking their own room. My wife was delighted being shown into an upgraded room. I then made sure with my other friends that they had the correct rooms, Sorry to say there was a mistake! The couple that had booked their own room did indeed have the suite I had been shown to, so there was in fact No upgrade! it was a case (lost through translation) of being shown to the wrong room. We finally got the correct room but it was a big disappointment to my wife after the mistake. This sadly put a taint on our stay and a strain on friendship. my wife kept hitting her head on the sloping ceiling in our room in the attic and I would not stay in that room again, but the other rooms were lovely. There were no toiletries in any of the rooms, no soap, shampoo, nothing. Just as well we had some with us. Of the 2 owners One spoke very good English but sadly the other owner spoke mainly French and this caused the above room issue. If you have mobility issues spiral staircases. We had booked Dinner at the chateau and the owner even cut fresh flowers for a display for us which was lovely. fresh ingredients from the garden were also used. However there was no menu choice, the food was very nice but it did take quite a long time in between courses and we gave up with coffee and called it a night after a long drive. The next day at checkout things got complicated as all booking had been lumped together and we had to add up different room rates. We were also asked to pay in CASH! luckily we had some, but I hardly ever carry cash. So beware.
Lovely room Excellent service Fantastic host's Delicious food
Lack of beer
