It was an experience for a lifetime. We have never tried anything similar. The hotel is a fairy tale - the managment is top professional. Outstanding.
This chateaux makes those dreams, of living in a castle, come true. The location is good, when you want to get away from it all. The staff and owners are great company and very helpful. The rooms are very well decorated and furnished. The gardens are wonderful to walk around in on a summer evening.
spacious, very clean, very nicely decorated rooms reflecting the authentic setting and highlighting the beauty of the castle, available parking, large garden one can sit in, or sunbathe, very quiet lack of meals (except breakfast) or the possibility of preparing at least a snack oneself; in fact, one can have dinner but only if ordered in advance, which is not convenient when one is on a holiday (one cannot always plan where one will be or the time when one will want to eat); it would be useful if there was at least a refrigerator in the room, so one could buy some food to eat (or juice or water to drink) when one wishes; also, it would be good if there was a kettle and a coffee machine, so one could have tea or coffee anytime during the day and not only for breakfast and not have to disturb the owner in her home to request a cup of coffee or tea.
Beautiful setting and fairy tale chateau.
The cuisine,location,hostesses and sheer uniqueness
The location was great, just in town, but not too noisy. Great parking right out the front too. This is no longer a 4 Star hotel. It's decor, service, standard of fittings and facilities was not of 4 star quality. The restaurant and bar were both closed and we couldn't even get coffee in the morning. The room was tatty and outdated and fixtures and fittings were old and some broken. Poor directions and no hotel website meant it took us ages to find it.
staff were helpful, and the food was excellent
Brilliant location in centre of town. Not so much shabby chic as plain shabby. Hotel in terminal decline since turn of the last century. A makeover long overdue. Not very good value for money.
Evening meal good value and excellant service.Super location for city. parking is not very good on site
Good location near restraunts
Only stayed 1 night, had a nice drink in the bar and a great meal in the Hotel restaurant. All staff encountered where very helpful and freindly.
Everyone very friendly and hospitable, would like room 115 again next year for time of 24 hr moto, at a discount rate for constant use Lack of a full time Chef, be nice to have more bar snacks on hand, english breakfast, sandwiches
friendly staff N/A
Clean room Everything closed on Sunday, including room service!
The room was comfortable The breakfast was not very good, the bacon and sausage were so hard it was impossible to eat them.
Proximity to the center. Size of the room. Possibility to use a garage place. Pitty you cannot open the windows in the room
excellent hotel, previously an insurance companies headquarters, with many splendid features.
The hotel is within walking distance of every thing and has good parking. We loved the interior of the hotel and the local people are great fun, this is a great Town to walk around. No
lovely hotel. I had booked a room with 2 single beds as I was travelling with my brother. The room allocated was a double room. After much insistence the lady on duty in reception sorted out the problem for which I was grateful but this mistake should not have been made
location and parking were excellent no pool of leisure facilties.
very central, although on a one way street so getting to the car park was tricky no tea & coffee facilities in the room
Easy access from the station; centrally located; ideal stop over if travelling on to other destinations Having to order in meals;
Very friendly staff, has obviously been upgraded, good modern feel. Right in the heart of city easy to get around. Excellent parking facilities.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. They advised us of a couple of very good restaurants inside the medieval walled city.
Good parking. not noisy. Not english speaking in the reseption, no free wifi, could not come in on the hotel at nigth by the code given.
Fairly disappointed, bed was poor and uncomfortable, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Convenient for onward journey
Very cheap, paid 29 Euros. Hotel has just been renovated. Clean and fresh rooms. Hotel was quiet. Shared toilets and showers. I don't mind sharing at this price but it;s still a nuisance to have to leave the room in the middle of the night.
have been given the key for the room and when i opned the door the room was very dity and the bed undone and the key didn't work in three occation until when the chamber mad opened the the door for me iam not happy at all more training for the staff and how to put the customers first if you what the business to do well in the future
Staff is helpless when it comes to problem solution. We have tried to use cola machine that was broken and had to spend another money to show it is not working. Result was fantastic - no returns of 4EUR late night, wait until 7AM to meet manager :)
Charming and helpful receptionist/manager. Small smelly room with a tiny bathroom and filthy shower. €140 a night for 2 of the nights because of a Le Mans event instead of €40, which is what it's worth.
Central location No complaints
The response from the staff and their conduct. The room, bar and meal costs were heavy for the level of hotel. The level of cleanliness in the lounge area (I am alergic to dust'.
Internet for one hour free. The internet could be for each day one hour free.
Good value for money rooms, with plenty of hot water
Staying with 3 dogs meant a ground floor room was essential-we got one!! There was a nice strip of grass outside to walk the dogs, the room was quiet, well away from road noise. The meals we had at the hotel were excellent and staff very friendly.
funcional and clean, used as a stopover between south and north france as travelling with small child and it did the job fine.
the beds were very uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on the floor. Otherwise great location for traveling through the countryside.
beer was not cold
breakfast was great, good selection.. bread was delicious.
Reasonably quiet for a location near a main road. It was terribly difficult to find, possibly because there is another Mercure in Le Mans. The personnel there could not tell us the way to our Mercure.
All the staff were courtious and top class !!!!!!!! No coffee in room !! thats all
Not enough tea bags coffee and cholate
Easy to find our way on to the next stage of our journey We seemed to be the only guests but were put on the 2nd floor with no lift
Very helpful pleasant staff. Room was very clean. Breakfast good
Staff very helpful The restuarant was nnot open for evening meals and this was not made clear on the website. We had to drive into Le Mans to find some where to get an evening meal. After a long drive we would have preferred not to have to drive again
Breakfast was good Restaurant was closed on both dates that I stayed, this was frustrating as we were travelling and did not want to go out to eat.
Hotel was fairly close to city centre and room cost was good The restaurant/bar were closed for refurbishment but there was no mention of this when booking and the corridors/rooms need refurbishment.
It was easy to find when driving in to a new city & not speaking French very well & car parking was easy to locate. Nothing.
Hotel location good and convenient. Room comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast enjoyable and value for money. Staff on arrival (Sunday afternoon) could have been more welcoming and a bit more helpful. Lack of interest at reception on arrival.
Internet is not free, while in the Campanil in front of the Kyriad it's free.
Staff always very helpful
the atmosphere,and the modern feel.
friendly and helpful staff
Great location - trams into le mans centre really easy and safe
Convenient location and consistent service and quality with other Novotel. Good stopping point en route to Caen ferry.
The staff were very helpful. I had booked a superior room but was very dissapointed with the standard.
clean rooms, very helpful staff for special requests and restaurant recommendations website could use more detailed driving directions plus a good map
Room clean. Restaurant facilities 7 days per week.
Excellent value and made a pleasant change from our usual Campanile overnight stops.
Very decent hotel. Very pleasant staff. Nice surroundings.
Very good restaurant and friendly staff.
friendly, helpful staff
nice friendly place, good location to the Le Mans circuit in a lovely part of France rooms are just quite not large enough, if you were there for more then a week-end break. lack of hanging space for cloths
Friendly staff, good atmosphere and food
Friendly staff and good food
The beds were too narrow and hard.
Friendly helpful staff. A good restaurant for dinner and continental breakfast.
The shower worked well with good pressure and plenty of hot water. The room was small and very plain. Lots of hard surfaces for noise to bounce off and the door closers need to be adjusted to prevent slamming.
Excellent location and unbeatable value for your money. Such a good price.
Actually nothing, I liked that the elevator rises immediately to the floor. It was very cold, since cold air is turned on until 22:00 and on the street winter. But when it shut down at 22:00 a smell of cigarettes and can not sleep. This hotel is more a 2 star pulls, but not by 3.
Helpfulness of the receptionist, wireless internet, breakfast facilities small beds, small bathroom
At my arrival it turned out there was a mistake in my booking: the hotel got the wrong date: I was booked one day earlier!!! So the charge for the room was already withdrawn from my credit card as a no-show...But the receptionist was very understanding and ended up not to charge the day of my no-show but to change the date of arrival!!! I was pleasantly surprised: not only about the euro's I saved (this hotel is not very expensive) but much more about the positive attitude of the receptionist! Chapeau!!! (Later it turned out that the mistake in my booking was with Booking.com: it is possible that a different date is booked than the one on your confirmation-email!!!)
good location, near old town and restaurants sometimes difficult to park as we have high vehicle
Location was good. Secure parking excellent though limited spaces so check in advance if important. Very basic hotel reminiscent of student hall of residence. Washroom was tiny and was in need of maintenance. Room was dim. No English tv channels. Sound insulation poor; also Staff could care more.
Clean & Tidy None
The room was spacious and airy and the shower was brilliant. There was a secure car park at the rear of the hotel with lots of space. Very close to the town shops and square, and the river (Loire). Very quiet location and I would go again.
Hotel was well placed, breakfast was good enough and I would happily stay there again Lift was very small as was shower. Glad I only weigh 13 stone
Good location, friendly staff, recently refurbished clean rooms. No air con or fans in rooms. Rooms were quite hot and stuffy.
We needed a room for 5 and usually end up very squashed. This hotel had a double room and then another room off of it with 3 beds for the kids. All very spacious and very clean. Excellent stopover whne travelling further south in France. None
The staff Lack of sevices, there was only one member of staff on duty at any time. That person had to do all the duties, Clean, Cook and look after everything. The hotel was closed from mid day to late afternoon and then from 10-30 each night.
Very very good. Lovely building, excellent rooms, great breakfast, very welcoming (good English!) in a charming little town. Wish we'd stayed there longer. Will definitely go there again.
The staff were very accomodating and very friendly. The room was modern and very clean. a very good service at a very reasonable price.Thank you for making our over night stop very pleasant. Will be back again.
The staff were among the most friendly and effecient I have seen in France. The self service breakfast is also to be commended with a good choice of food excelling in both quality and quantity. Evening meals were not available in the hotel.
The hotel was close enought to the City Centre for ease of driving and City Centre parking was easy to find. Very quiet in the evening for a good nights rest. Perfect if you have children as the grounds of the hotel are large and custom planned for young children with swings and plenty of play areas. The rooms are very modern in decor and clean. The breakfast room looked great as did the layout of the food although we did not stay for breakfast but wish we had. My only concern was that the windows on the first floor were floor level and a child could easily fall out if un supervised. Perhaps the hotel could put safety bars across to prevent any such accidents from happening.
No tea or coffee in the room
A quiet place, a little out of town, but very easy to use bus and/or tram.Relaxing and quiet, a garden to sit in and read and relax. Breakfast good but basic, no reason to go hungry. host great value, east to talk to, his English we excellent. Nothing really.
The shower was new and the bed was comfortable. The room was basic and unwelcoming - there were no pictures, no easy chair, no bedside tables, hard stools to sit at the small table, no rugs on the wooden floor and only blinds at the window. The walls were painted orange, brown and cream with orange and brown wardrobes. We would not classify this as two-star.
Quiet garden situation within a walk of le mans centre
How friendly were the staff
It was easy to find for a one night stay Hotel was pretty poor. We walked on the wood flooring and it felt like the panels were going to snap, they were all bendy. Hotel decorated and kitted out very cheaply. Double bed was extremely small and we aren't big people. The bed was very uncomfortable. We had been in the car for 12 hours so to be honest we just had an early night so didn't really see how good the location was although the hotel was easy to find. Wouldn';t recommend this hotel for no more than a sleep over on a long journey.
Clean, quiet and comfortable, beautiful garden, very helpful staff. Room probably due for slight refurbishment, wardrobe doors didn't quite close properly.
Hotel was on route that we were taking. Breakfast was good. Restaurant was closed (although the sign was not turned off). No hair dryer in the room.
As we drive from UK to Portugal via the channel tunnel it is a very good stop over for the 1st night and ideal situation close to the motorway, we used this hotel in March this year, as well as last week.
covienent for an overnight stop, pity smoking allowed in bedrooms. no coffee, tea makeing facilities
Very convenient for the autoroutes
room with children was immediately adjacent to adults
Pleasant relaxing ambience with helpful staff.
Good, clean hotel convenient for a stop over when travelling in france. Rooms were basic but well maintained and clean. Ideally located for motorways.
Everyone was helpful and the food was very good. The location was ideal for the Le Mans circuit though it had to be by taxi.
Reasonably priced. Also we was delayed on route & phoned ahead to the hotel to advise them that we would arrive outside of normal reception hours. We were given an access code for the main door & the number of our room. The keys were left in the door so that we could get into the room. We were very pleased that these provisions was made for us. Website directions to the hotel could be improved. We could see the hotel from the motorway but was initially unsure how to reach it. Consequently we took a wrong turn which took us some miles out of our way. Not enough milk & refreshments left in room.
The location is good for visiting Le Mans as well as just passing through and staying overnight Rooms in need of decoration. Insect problems. Restaurant was closed when we visited, which we would have liked prior notice
