L'auberge Bretonne - La Roche-Bernard - Bedroom
4
9.3 Excellent (227 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at L'Auberge Bretonne places you in the heart of La Roche-Bernard, a 1-minute drive from Briere Regional Nature Park and 10 minutes from Château de Ranrouët. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and a library.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were late booking and our room was probably not the best they had, but it was beautifully done, a bit out of the way but everything about it was great. More than the room though is the quality of the food. We toured northern Spain and the west coast of France for three weeks and this was, without doubt, the best meal of our trip. Beautifully served, the food from amuse niche, through starter, main, pre dessert and dessert were great. It’s a lovely place to stay, but it’s an even better place to eat.
Cons: It was very wam during our stay and there was no air conditioning, but in a building this old you don’t really expect any.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel well situated in charming village. The hotel resturant and room excellent.
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Cons: We requested a quiet room but were given one overlooking the front. The noise from people drinking in the bars kept us awake until the early hours. No air conditioning and it was too hot to shut the window. Bed not very comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was a great size and the big bathroom was an unexpected surprise. The room was charming and quiet with big windows that look out into the garden. The staff were very polite and helpful with local information and assistance. A great place for a group as well (we were in La Roche Bernard for our friend’s wedding) with lots of room options to suit.
Cons: My pillows were too soft for me personally - so my sleep was a little interrupted - but someone else would disagree if they like soft pillows. Also the wifi was VERY slow. A ceiling or pedestal fan in the bedrooms would be a good idea as they were a little stuffy otherwise. I think having tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms would be a good idea as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic place to stay and eat.
Cons: Lovely room, excellent food and a great location. Really charming staff. A superb place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is our 2nd visit. The staff are friendly and the food exceptional. Lots of home made and locally sourced food
Cons: Nil
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The pretty hotel is very well located and excellently managed by Audrée and the team. She is particularly impressive. The food in the restaurant was delicious & the service was good.
Cons: Everything was good - my only minor criticism was the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant. It could do with some nice music and a littke more ‘umph’.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy walk to historic quarter and port area. Big room. Quiet. Friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really enjoyable, we had a very good stay. The food was really lovely for the whole family. We got served tasty and locally produced groceries and poultry. The bedrooms (we had 2) are cosy and very clean. We appreciated the kindness of the staff.

Cons: All excellent. Nothing needed improving
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We did enjoy our stay. Location is convenient, staff is simply fantastic, and breakfast is just fabulous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Brevocean exceeded our expectations. We arrived for a weekend away and we were gladly impressed by the property and the location. The surroundings are amazing, forest and beach side by side, calm and safe environment, a nice walk away from the beach and the village city center. The house itself is awesome as well, green areas to relax, sheltered bike parking, outdoors sitting for breakfast, sparkling clean, comfortable rooms with a fine taste in decoration. We really enjoyed the homemade breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and of course all the attention and care from the owner. A great experience overall.
Cons: Nothing to say here!

Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, bedroom and luxurious bathroom. Warm welcome.
Cons: Bath tub only, and with no shower curtain it was almost impossible to use the shower attachment, so quite risky for us older folks getting in and out of tub. Unfortunately, we offended the proprietor, because we had not informed him we had decided to leave early, before breakfast was served.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food and accommodation. Very charming and helpful proprietors. Tranquil country setting. Ideal to relax in.

Pros: This B&B was located in a very ancient french homestead with its own courtyard around which the rooms were found. There was a central kitchen we could use and the breakfast was great. Pros: The staff were great and the air conditioning was very welcome. It was clean and functional.
Cons: Shame there is no coffee/tea making facilities. The location is bleak, trading estate and truck stop just off a major road. So, for nothing but a late night stopover it is fine but otherwise I would say it’s worth paying a little bit more to be at a better location.

6.3 Good
Pros: Easy to find, breakfast ok.
Cons: Far from Eco friendly, staff need grow up, coffee at breakfast from mashine, no handwash in the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was so clean and new. The staff were great and it was unbeatable value. Thanks
Cons: It was a taxi ride from the town centre, that’s all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were just stopping by to sleep and continue to our next destination the following morning. For our purposes, we couldn't have asked for more (easily accessible and right next to the road to continue in the morning). Two of us had breakfast in the morning and said it was very good (vegetarian but no vegan options available). The rooms were very clean. One of our rooms had a small terrace, which our dog appreciated! Huge TV as well. There's a bakery downstairs which was open until about 8pm.
Cons: It would have been nice to have vegan breakfast options available.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Bed s good. Good range of choice for breakfast ast.
Cons: On arrival the room we were allocated was not cleaned. Moved to another room. The second morning the shower was not working. Reception refunded the cost of our breakfast. Allocated room on 4th floor, even though we said we had a dog. Difficult for the dog using lift, stairs long way up.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location next to big hospital, but not too noisy in the night, and plenty of free parking (after the local businesses had shut).
Cons: A base for looking around, but not much in the direct area. We drove 4-5 miles to Pornichet for a walk by the sea and a great dinner.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed! Excellent value for money.
Cons: For the cost of this hotel, I am not sure there is anything to improve.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very nice and simple. Wasn't keen on the coffee, out of a machine and appeared to be very watery..
Cons: Would of been nice to have tea/ coffee making facilities in the room but maybe this isn't a French thing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean efficient staff were very helpful
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, easy parking, welcoming Reception, easy check-in, easy access to our floor and room, very comfortable room with adequate facilities, quiet location, simple but enjoyable breakfast, Friendly check-out. Fantastic pice. Mission achieved and beautiful weather.
Cons: Unfortunately there was not a drinks bar.
7.5 Good
Pros: No carpets or decorative cushions or bedspreads, which are difficult to keep clean from one guest to the next. Interconnected rooms, perfect for families. Easy parking. ECO concept.
Cons: There is no air-conditioning, and it was somewhat hot, so we had to open the windows to sleep comfortably. They only provide two towels per room, and they are small. Not even a small one to place your feet when you shower. Though I relate to the protect the environment concept, I think they would be more consistent if the hotel would use smaller TVs (they are quite big for the size of the rooms), and supply at least one hand towel. And a small hand soap on the basin, please.

After contacting booking.com and there translator speaking to the hotel, this was not the case and denied all knowledge! Basically if they said no refund fine!
