Pros: Spa bath
Cons: Keep permanent residence away from visitors as both rooms on either side were disturbing our motel bench was full of ants

Pros: Very quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Outside light on all night.
Pros: The Staff were wonderful and friendly. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere between us and the Staff, which also contributed to a relax feeling with in the whole establishment. Beautiful scenery of the Water/Harbour from the Lounge area and Dining area. And such a sunny and warm spot in the morning. Our room was a delight, with a large super comfortable bed, and a bathroom that any woman should be happy with. A decent size TV for failing eyes was also a blessing. The Air-Conditioning in our room was great but noisy.......it had to be turned off at night.
Cons: We were concerned for a small black Kitten in the busy car park. As was another person who was checking in at the same time, and another couple who were just arriving as we finished checking it. But when we expressed our concerns and asked if someone could catch it, we were told that Staff were not allowed to interacted with the little Kitten in any way. This was disappointing to know that the welfare of animals was of no concern to the Hotel. Was the Environment not a concern also? I hope the Kitten is now safe.
Pros: The very comfy beds with clean cuddly sheets. The room was very warm and having the large sliding door kept the room cool rather than having to use the air conditioning system. I loved the large walk in shower It gave me more reassurance that my vehicle was safe with the new security gate in the carpark area

Pros: We loved the location of this hotel. Close to restaurants and tourist sites. We were able to get a parking spot at the hotel which was great but there is ample street parking around.
Pros: The location was excellent but the parking disappointing
Cons: The parking
Pros: Perfect for business and close to everything. The staff was amazing! Positive is that the room had refrigerator so I could have breakfast there that i bought in the close buy grocery store.
Pros: Location was very central, room was smallish but adequate. Frontline staff service was excellent. Wifi very good.
Cons: For the cost of the accommodation The TV channels were very limited, I would have at the very least Sky channels, Car parking was very tight and limited availability
Pros: Location makes walking to the Art Deco buildings easy; plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff helpful with local information and parking.
Cons: Our very comfortable room was on the street sid, so would have been a bit noisy if the weather had been appropriate for open windows. Just a small nuisance in an otherwise fine hotel.
Pros: Motel on the end of the Napier Art-Deco central business district, but close walking distance to the oceanfront, pedestrian zone main street and a big choice of restaurants with lots of Art Deco buildings on the way. Helpful staff advising on best options to park free overnight.

The property offers private and dormitory style rooms. Some have private bathrooms and some have shared bathrooms. All rooms are heated. Guests can test their skills in the games room complete with a table tennis table and billiards. There are also laundry facilities.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The many stairs. Not a problem really but wish I had been warned as I may have packed differently- e.g. a lightweight overnight bag.
Pros: Super friendly staff & not too expensive. Location was good too! Ideal if you are just going for a few nights and just want something cheap and cheerful :)
Cons: I guess it’s your typical back packer hostel. Could do with a freshen up but was clean enough. Breakfast on the first morning wasn’t the best, went down at 9:30 and the other guests had very much made the table their own and wasn’t much left, toaster and kettles didn’t seem to be working properly but not a massive deal for me. Had breakfast the second morning and it was quieter so a lot better.
Pros: A very helpful friendly owner who worked incredibly hard to keep the place disinfected and safe re Covid 19 epidemic. Lovely variety of home made breads for breakfast. A great place for young travellers to stay with good socialising living room.
Pros: The bed sheets white & clean
Cons: No hot water at night for shower 4 nights of cold showers. No soap at bedroom basin & tap dripped 24/7 needed new washer. The carpet should be taken out of bedroom & all carpets removed from building. Also the place needs painting a fresh look hey.
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: TV in room would be a bonus
Pros: Nice big hostel, with comfy rooms and beds. Handy having a sink in our room too. Michelle (the lady that runs the hostel) is lovely and really looked after us, especially with all the corona drama! She also baked fresh bread, including gluten free, for all guests! Really recommend.
Pros: Great location, within a few minutes from the art deco district and the waterfront. Michelle, the manager, was a very pleasant, super helpful person.. The wi-fi connection was great in the rooms too!
Cons: I stayed there in the middle of the summer and the rooms get super hot. I asked for a fan and I did not get one, I could not stay in the room after 9am in the morning until about 2pm, it got very hot and very uncomfortable even with the windows open. This hotel suffers from the 'door banging' syndrome, people bang the doors loudly until after midnight, expect to wake up several times from your neighbor just slamming the door constantly, very aggravating and annoying.
Located in Napier, Criterion Art Deco Backpackers is within a 15-minute drive of Church Road Winery and Mission Estate Winery. Featured amenities include a library, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area.
Pros: Central location, architecture. Another guest helped me upstairs with luggage. Big kitchen, books / magazines to read. Women only bathroom. Comfortable bed - was given double room with hand basin, with view over street, instead of single.
Cons: Shabby, but I heard it is to be upgraded into upmarket hotel. Good idea, splendid building with character.
Pros: Central location, cheap rate
Cons: Very run down, fixtures damaged. Appeared not to be cleaned. Whole atmosphere was dark no light light bulbs blown
Pros: The view
Cons: It was nice for the price
Pros: Good host great location
Cons: To many unemployed locals
Pros: Our room was basic but comfortable.
Cons: Parking was a problem, but they said they had no parking. We parked several blocks away to find free street parking. There was a problem of noise after quiet time started and on quite late the second night. Lots of cursing and general loud mouthed males.
Cons: Hostel is in bad condition and not worth the money you pay for. The rooms are tiny (4 bed) and the bed squeaks. One of the worst experiences on NZ, specially considering the price.
Pros: Excellent location and a beautiful character building with balcony. All rooms on same level so a nice comunal/flatting feeling. Includes a simple but adequate breakfast in room rate.
Cons: The place is dirty and untidy. With a few bad smells too. I know it was budget accommodation and the guests have a lot to do with the kitchen but overall the place is dirty and needs attention. In particular the kitchen. Only one communal shower toilet area with just one working shower. Felt very uncomfortable showering with the open top and bottom walls. Kitchen is not equipped to deal with the number of guests staying.

Pros: Really modern and clean rooms. Comfy beds. TV in lounge and bedroom. Good kitchen facilities. Spa bath was great for the kids
Pros: Bed was comfy and liked the desk and chair for working. Seats in the room are comfy and small outdoor patio is a great idea.
Cons: Part of the reason why I choose to stay at certain accomodation is their facilities. I like to use the gym but on arrival was told gym is being used as storage. It would be good if maybe this information can be updated on the website. I would have stayed elsewhere. The room itself was good but unfortunately the toilet cleaning had been missed! The shower head is old and needs replacing as it sprays everywhere.
Pros: The bed was very comfy and very relaxing.
Cons: No wardrobe in our bedroom
Pros: Reasonable price and a good location
Cons: Outlook of the rooms
Pros: Fridge. Microwave. Kitchen set up. It was all very nice.
Cons: The gym was pretty limited. Thar almost always seems the case.. NBD!
Pros: Lovely staff, fresh milk, private carpark
Pros: The location was near the beach and walkway. Parking was easy. Laundry facilities were good. The female host was nice in moving us to another room, further away from the traffic noise.
Cons: The smoke alarm unit was missing from the ceiling. The motel is next to a busy road, thus it is a noisy location. Also, the walls between rooms are very thin and you can hear others. And finally, the hosts were a bit on the grumpy side - maybe they are tired of the business?
Pros: - spa was gud - sky tv gud -
Cons: - bed was hard average - gym not been able to use - ankle biting little annoying mutts - bathroom not property cleaned
Pros: Very clean and the staff were very welcoming

Cons: Bed to hard
Pros: The waterfront position
Cons: Rooms need up grading, poor value for money

Cons: You had to flush the toilet twice before it would flush away The tv reception was fuzzy We had 1 and a half toilet paper for a family of 5
Pros: The staff were amazing!
Pros: Friendly staff who are always willing to help. The view was awesome from our room and from the balcony. Very spacious room with cooking facilities and clean toilet and bath room. Room was enough to cater for my whole family of 6.
