Friendly staff and fact it had a pool. Not surprisingly given its location very much of motel style. We stayed a number of days and would have preferred the restaurant menu to change at least once or twice in a week particularly as the only other restaurant within walking distance was very poor. Could do with a lick of paint in the corridors.
close to the motorway and easy to find. Also room was quiet. Very poor english of the person in reception (they didn't know what the "breakfast" is); restaurant was closed during the weekend.
Clean room, comfortable bed, nice staff, good atmosphere in dining room, evening meal good. Definately stay there again. Area where located not particularly picturesque
Good location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Dated room decor, dirty corridors, room smelt of smoke despite being non smoking, dated lounge and dining area.
The staff were very helpful with our (changing) reservations during a time that Brive was full of athletes and their coaches/families for a week-long rowing regatta. Access to the autoroute and to Brive was good.
The room was comfortable with air conditioning that worked. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonable value. There was very little for a vegetarian in the restaurant, but then this is typical of France
The room itself was comfortable enough. The breakfast buffet was very good and the location (near the A20) was much appreciated. All in all, a pleasant experience. The staff member on duty when we checked in was quite rude and did not demonstrate the minimum competence level required to work at a hotel catering to international travellers. The shower was filthy with mold and grime on the walls. This came as a disappointment as the first time around the staff on duty were professional and helpful and the shower was clean. There is a need for more consistency in service delivery.
only stayed one night, it was ok no evening meal avaible and only one diner over the road
Very clean and tidy, reception very helpful, thought gone in to what basic needs customers need while staying there. Breakfast excellent. Great value for money!!
Good facilities with a lift. Very near the autoroute and a very good restaurant next door.
Exactly what we expected for the money and class.Perfect stop over point.
cleanliness of the room and popular price of the hotel poor breakfast service
Space, comfort, friendliness and helpfulness of staff Opening times of restaurant
Cleanliness of the room was very good. I would have preferred a larger room with a king size bed as we only wanted a double not a triple room.
The hotel was adequate for an overnight stay. I made the mistake of paying for the breakfast when I checked in. This was a huge mistake!!!!! The breakfast consisted of a croissant, a machine for the coffee, a machine for Juice, and an assortment of jams in little packets. A motorway service stations breakfast would have put it to shame!!!!!!
Good value for money. Breakfast good. Plenty of car parking.
Good restaurant.nice grounds.great pool.fantastic castle Small menu.pricey food.bit snobish.french service
The chateau is beautiful and in a lovely setting. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Restaurant was superb. nothing negative to say!
The hotel staff is extremely friendly and doing their best to accomodate every wish. Very good restaurant. Nice surroundings. A bit expensive but worth it !
Location, friendliness and efficiency of the staff. No
We loved the tower room we stayed in, dinner was fantastic and breakfast in bed perfect. This hotel was the highlight of our 3 weeks and we wish we'd had more than one night!
service and excelent food
Beautiful room in a castle setting, excellent reception and an outstanding dinner (recently acquired michelin star and deserved in my opinion).
Excellent place. The staff was very useful and competent. The room was very comfortable (international channels were not working though). Unfortunately I did get a chance to try the restaurant but the menu looks awesome -although a bit pricey.
The people were very friendly, warm, family run hotel The website doesn't offer the ability to have 3 in a room however when you get there you realise that it's possible
Excellent ambiance and Service
The ambiance and decor of the old hotel, it's sitting rooms and dining rooms overlooking the lovely garden, terrace and river beyond, are cared for by the very friendly and helpful couple in charge. Bathrooms are modern, pretty, and sparkling. Their restaurant is excellent and breakfast is generous. Convenient, easy & free parking; central location yet very quiet. A most enjoyable stay!
Personally owned and all the care and attention showed No
Went to caves of Lasceaux, toured the countryside, enjoted the village of Montignac & especially the warm welcome & superb food at the hotel. Nothing.
This hotel ticked all the boxes. The owners were extremely friendly and couldn't have been more friendly. We had a lovely, spacious room on the second floor. The food was excellent.
The friendly and helpful staff and the beautiful gardens with sunloungers. Also liked the fact that the "a la carte" menu was applicable for "demi-pension" (not the case at other establishments) and the breakfast was terrific with a buffet selection. Would definitely use this hotel again. Not a thing!
very comfortable and quiet, perfect location in a beautiful village close to many places of interest, excellent food, very friendly and helpful staff
Excellent service and friendly and helpful staff. Could not have wished for more. Food was first class. If only other hotels could be as good.
Helpful and friendly staff, great location and very good food. Would stay again during next trip
Everything was better than we had expected. The service was a reflection of that given by M et Mme Nourrisson, the owners, who were always available to answer questions and assist when necessary. The hotel is in a quiet location, but within walking distance of the shops etc., the food is excellent and we can think of no better place to stay for a relaxing break. We shall return!
Wonderful position, with lovely garden and clean pool, weather did not allow us to use it! Evening Meal was fantastic, as good as any firstclass restaurant.
The location of this hotel is very good to visit this city on a short stay. This hotel must have been very good some time in the past, but as for now it needs refurnishing for todays standards. The lady in charge was helpful, in offering different rooms.
None Two rooms booked for family burn marks on bed clothes, water markes on ceiling and walls, showers not fit for purpose, difficulty locking door,Bad state of repair and decoration throughout
Excellent food - dinner and breakfast. Personal service - very pleasant and welcoming Atmospheric - early 19c coaching inn. Dining room very attractive. Parking - large garage beside hotel (ex coach house) Excellent position - centre of Brives - very attractive old town. Age of the hotel shows in places - parts better decorated than others. En suite bathroom quite small. Room without toilet has more space for shower and wash basin (toilet is along landing) Street noises when window is open.
the manager was very accomodating and helpful there was not much on the menu for a child with conservatrive tastes but they were willing to make up a meal off menu
Web reservation Price of the room Easy to find Center of city Bad look of the room Bad look of the hotel Medium diner Pollution and noise from the street
We loved the central location, the very friendly proprieter, the view of the church from the bedroom window, and the authentic French experience. Not for those who need all mod cons and new decor.
Food was excellent Could do with a coat of paint.
Perfect location by the pedestrian area, very good hospitality. Parking included, accomodation at very cheap price. Sheets and towels clean. Big rooms, good breakfast. WiFi, playstation... Very very very old rooms (we were scared the ceiling could fall down during the night...) and even older toilets. In general for this price we couldn't expect more, but maybe wallpaper should be changed at least every 40 years? :-)
The pleasant nature of the Lady in charge Rooms were very shabby,no hot water Wallpaper falling off,Plasterwork falling off windows all floorboards creaking...all in all very old and very very badly maintained
The hotel is no longer an airport hotel (the new airport is 20km away at Valee Dordogne) I did not know this due to poor advertising / information and therefore paid $40 for my taxi. The hotel itself is very basic, 1970's by design and basically unpoleasant. Very overpriced at $75 pe rnight via your website. Will not use your site or Campanile ever again.
It was very convenient ad an overnight stop when travelling. It was clean, the staff pleasant and the food was good. Ideal for my purpose.
Comfortable, close to the city, relaxed
very friendly service
great value too far from the city
reasonable price : good food for the price: close to autoroute: easy to find . staff pleasant. dirty floors in the bedroom. our feet were black
Friendly & helpful owners/staff. Central location. Adequate parking on site. Food standard good. Room & decor only at the just adequate level for the price
Staff hostpitality and helpfulness.
The showeroom was extremely cramped , there was not enough room for the shower, 2 basins and the toilet in what seemed like a converted cupboard. Also the sliding doors would not remain closed and there was no lock to secure them..
The area of France the hotel is located in is beautiful and unique, and the service was excellent.
I found the hotel to be very charming and the staff to be very friendly, the location was good and the bathroom was lovely.
The food was absolutely fabulous and the staff were warm and friendly The ensuite bathroom had some mold in the shower
Helpful and welcoming staff with superb food. Unusually for a French hotel were able to provide a vegetarian meal and did not see it as a problem. It is on a busy road so it is quite noisy even at night.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice terrace and garden at rear of hotel. Rooms were small and in need of a facelift.
The room had an french provincial ambiance The room was very tired that needed total refurbishing. it was very tiny- could hardly fit 2 suitcases in it wthout walking on one. it was ver noisy from other guests in the hallway and also outside noise.
The nice friendly people, and lovely food
The owner was a bit cold and not very welcoming when we arrived, so my husband and I had a negative impression of the place from the start.
In view of the price, the hotel was ok. Kind of noisy when guests arrive at night. Poor breakfast, but you don't go to France for its breakfast
Very good noise blocking windows. When looking at pictures of hotel rooms you should make note if they use soap dispensers and individual toilet tissue sheet holders, rather than bars of soap and rolls of toilet tissue they probably skimp on other items. Very noisy street, no charm hotel.
Good place to stay overnight before a visit to Lavaux. Service-minded staff. Breakfast was simple and not quite worth the price. We requested for extra bed before our stay. However, the staff didn't realize it and we had to wait for an extra bed arrangement when we arrived.
Dinner was very good. The room was small but comfortable, and the terrace was pleasant. Breakfast was too expensive, and the waitress was quite rude. The other staff were helpful but not particularly warm.
Walking distance to the town of Montignac. Quaint, clean, no frills. Five minute drive to Lascaux II, which we were interested in seeing. Very pleasant woman running the hotel and restaurant.
Very clean, very polite and a lovely atmosphere - will book for next year when the town is en fete nothing
Staff is really good. She can speak english.and helpful.she also arrange to lift me to go Lasco2.
Very pleasant reception by the "mine Host" Warm and generally pleasant stay Brekfast was well presented but sadly lacking for the price
Relaxed and comfortable.
The hotel was in a very central location in Brive. The room was very spacious and airy. There was free parking available close to the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu in the restaurant had quite an unusual selection of food. I would have preferred more of a choice of international cuisine.
Lovely little hotel with unusual rooms, centrally placed and ideal for the stadium in Brive, as well as being in the centre of the town. Decor is slightly old fashioned but still charming.
Restaurant( impression, did not eat there) Shaby furniture
Restaurant excellent although service a little brusque. Room clean but very average. Pillows were diabolical and we didn't sleep well as a result. Breakfast was awful.
Staff not very welcoming.
Convenience to town centre & good restaurant We booked a none smoking room but the first room offered smelt of smoke. However, staff quickly and curteously found us another room.
The hotel is nicely situated for bars and restaurants
The hotel restaurant was open when nothing else within walking distance was. It had a lift. Very poor value for the money. Don't be confused by the price or fancy looking restaurant out front. This hotel is not a good value for the money. After seeing the room, I would not have eaten in the restaurant if anything else within walking distance had been open. The fish was good and the vegetables well prepared and presented. However, one of the sauces, thankfully served on the side, tasted like a new vinyl beach ball smells. I am a very experienced traveller and felt I was "taken" by this hotel. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Absolutely no view from my room.
Sheets were clean and crisply ironed. The room was very small and cramped. No room to pass each other or for the suitcases.
Convenient for town centre, adequate parking The reception area had a bad smell and the room was quite small.
extremely helpful and obliging staff, happy to give us a meal even though we arrived very late.
cheap price, next to the main road, close to the airport Too far away from the city centre (an hour walk)- not as shown on the "show map". If you drive, that's fine. Very noisy because it is right next to the main road.
country side, nice surrounding friendly staff well positioned for starting daily trips
it was superbly run, and extraordinarily friendly and warm. the location is exquisite and the owners (patrick and mary jose) charming ...a real gem
It has an exceptional setting in the country some 30 min from Sarlat.. A relaxing change. New chef seems to be doing fine with the menu. Madame Hamlin, the owner is very gracious.
Lovely old manor house and outbuildings in excellent condition in pretty park with river and ducks with good walks around. Good size room beautifully decorated and furnished with large modern bathroom incl. tub and shower.Excellent well presented gastronomique food in medieval style restaurant. Note prices at door since menus are not priced in restaurant and book table on arrival since some are poorly situated due to type of building. Excellent secure parking especially behind annex. Did not realise bedroom was in annex which is 80 meters in the open from hotel and restaurant. However the room was beautiful and the forecourt to walk across is so picturesque. No hairdryer in room.
Provided a good overnight stopping point on journey through France. Easy to find and suitable for motorway connection.
We used the hotel as an overnight stopover and for this purpose it was perfect - great location, friendly staff and comfortable room.
Close to A20 motorway
Staff very friendly and accomodating, room very spacious and comfortable. Room very clean. Good variety at breakfast, staff very helpful. Dissapointed that restaurant not open as we had a very long drive from England and had to eat at Macdonalds situated acroos the hotel car park.
No map on web site - the post code given on sat nav gave hotel in a different part of the road, it was therefore difficult to find when coming off the motorway
The hotel was ideally located within a couple of minutes of the motorway. The food in the restauarant was good and served well.
We arrived at the hotel earlier than planned and they had a range of cards featuring places of interest, one of which was a beautiful garden. An unexpected treat.
Easy access from a20. Good buffett breakfast. Restaurant closed on Sunday night. This was not mentioned on the website. Shower not really usable.
Pleasent friendly, easy to find, just of the motorway although quiet. Supermarket and McDonalds in walking distance nearby. Great as an overnight stop. No - did exactly what we wanted, quick and easy stop over.
the owner (son) was very friendly and helpful. -the location was very close to train station...security not the best.
The staff were very friendly. I also found the location very central to the train and amenities as we did not have a car. Great food too and good value. The 5 course meal for 18 euro was delicious and a bargain.
Liked the convenience, right next door to the railroad station where we were going the next day. It was clean, cheap, comfortable. and has all the basics plus friendly, pleasant staff.
The hotel was very convenient for the station as we were passing through Brive on our way south. The food was good and reasonably priced; the hotel isn't luxurious but it was comfortable.
close to the station but not noisy. impeccably clean. friendly staff. efficient
