The accommodation was spacious, clean and stylish, the facilities in the kitchen we're excellent, the bathroom sizeable and modern and the bed was most comfortable too. The provision of a parking space outside the property was very welcome. We were amazed by the quality and quantity of the breakfast provided and only wish that we could have stayed longer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness, relaxing setting, nice view over the city attentive and welcoming hostess. If offered an evening meal, it is worth it. Great way to meet fellow travellers.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was finally ok. I parked my car next to the entrance; the owner was very friendly and helpful, the room was ok, and the breakfast was with no doubt the best thing from all of our stay. You will not be disappointed.
Cons: Actually, it was not what I expected and reserved. I booked Grey Room - "This double room has a private bathroom and a TV." I got another room (described as a double room with two single beds) with neither private bathroom nor TV. It was just a transit stay, so I did not need a TV, and a shared bathroom did not mind us after 11 PM when we had arrived. So, you have to consider that the description of the facilities in the room is actually the description of the facilities in the whole guesthouse. The location is ok if you travel by car, but it is not so easy to park a car there. To sum up, you will not regret your stay there, but the quality/price ratio is not so good as it looks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is situated on a quiet street and from the front looks like an ordinary French house. The inside and rear garden, however, are far from ordinary. The whole place is charming. Anouck is an extremely friendly and welcoming host and we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back should we visit this part of France again. The town of Metz is only about a ten minute drive, if that, from the premises and is a beautiful and lively place to visit with lots of things to see and plenty of places to eat.
Cons: We liked everything about this establishment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the stay. This is a proper BNB and a stay I wouldn't trade for anything! Anouck and the Chef were truly exceptional hosts. The advice they gave was priceless. The food and drinks were bliss, and it's prepared before you. If you want to experience the culture and meet some lovely people then do not pass this stay up! The location is also fantastic and the room has a brilliant view of the valley below. There's some nice walking paths that zigzag through the neighborhood that make a great way to see the area. Metz is just down the hill and Nancy is less than an hour away so it's a great start off point.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast after a good night's sleep in a comfy bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Probably the most welcoming and friendly hosts we have met. Anouck and Rafael made us feel like treasured guests in their home, pre dinner wine and nibbles in front of a blazing log fire. Rafael cooked a delicious meal and we had a most enjoyable evening. Although we had to park in a public car park 3 minutes walk away they accompanied us there and reassured us it was secure. A delightful quiet village yet so near to Metz.
Cons: Directions and signage could have been better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent B&B. The host is just a very friendly woman, who is a perfect host for all of the guests. Her friend is an excellent cook, that presented us a perfect meal each day. The B&B is close to Metz. It is perfect for a long walk in the hilly surroundings of Metz.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was lovely.
Cons: The bedroom was small & cramped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a chambre d’hote of extreme charm, beauty and interest. The house is filled with fascinating and beautiful things lovingly collected. Modern comfort blends with tradition: the last of the village’s wine presses is in the tranquil garden, which still has the opening to the ancient cellar below ground. Breakfast is served on a marble topped oval table, decorated with fruit and fresh flowers, with delicious bread, home made jams, a different cheese each day, ham and coffee drunk from the large traditional French coffee cups, on china which has passed down through the hostess’s family. The owners are extremely kind and friendly, with time to talk and share experiences and a bottle of the wine they produce themselves. We were fortunate to be there on the day of the May 1st festival, Lily of the Valley day, with a wonderful flea market, filled with fascinating and very readonably priced objects from antiques to toys, filling the little village square. The atmosphere was jolly and the air was filled with the acent of lilacs and of of lily of the valley. A very short drive to the lower village allows you to take an easy bus journey into Metz, a very pleasant city to visit, with stunning stained glass windows in the Cathedral. Although a Chambre D’Hote rather than self catering accommodation, the hosts own kitchen is made available to guests who wish to cook for themselves.
Cons: There was nothing I did not like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house. Lots of artwork throughout house
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice house with interesting artworks and a very nice garden

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super friendly and helpful!
Cons: The beds were very hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very warm welcome from Alain! I was exhausted and we were happy just to stay in our room the first evening, but we could have joined other guests in the garden for a drink had we wanted. Shared breakfasts were convivial and interesting and presided over by Angeline, we felt cared for. We had some food with us and our hosts obliged by refrigerating it and freezing our cool blocks. It was really pleasant to have a game of Scrabble with a beer in the garden on the second evening. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. There was tourist information and Alain was happy to make suggestions and also to show some history of the house. I especially liked the L’ecole de Nancy light on the stairs, having come directly from that museum in Nancy. We would very happily stay there again and have already recommended it.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: creaky floors in bedroom. But oh well that is to be expected in such and old building.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A cozy house, nice backyard garden view from the room, quiet, relaxed, and with most friendly owners. There's a good continental breakfast with fresh, homemade/local things at the table. Check-in and -out were totally uncomplicated, conveniently in English where others so often expect us to be fluent in French as a standard when travelling France. All in all, a really good value for the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a magical and unexpected pleasure to stay with Angeline and Alain. They were so welcoming and caring. We ate delicious food with excellent company and then retired to our extremely comfortable, and immaculate, room. We would love to come back for another stay, and to explore the area further.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.

Pros: We booked this at about 7pm on the night we were staying and the owner both answered the phone when we called to ask exactly where he was (about 50 yards behind us the other side of the village square as it turned out) and was very cheerful and accommodating even though someone ele had also turned up at the same tiem. We asked for and got an earlry breakfast which was great. The bread was wonderfully fresh, the croissants gorgeous and a range of home made jams. The owner speaks little English but did his best. He speaks german as well as French. My room had a separate private bathroom with a bath which after a longish trip was welcome. Very friendly.
Cons: It was all good

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Large nice room with a bar counter, you can buy food and drinks at a supermarket nearby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A little bit of a cultural experience more than a hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Such a lovely host. We had the loft, all to ourselves. I loved the decoration, which you can tell matches the hosts taste. I love cats and I ended buying one of hand made toys, that the host makes by herself. I would definitely want to revisit this place. The breakfast was lovely !
Cons: The hot water works on boiler, so it's not endless.
6.8 Good
Pros: The host tried to accomodate us as best she could, she was really friendly.
Cons: It's complicated to get there, even though it's 50 m from the main road, you cannot just turn left or right (depending on what direction you're coming from) and drive the 50 m because it's a one-way road. The wi-fi was practically nonexistent and the breakfast was fair at best, insufficient for someone who will be on the road for the rest of the day (the breakfast has to be an energy-kick into the day).

Pros: Everything, especially breakfast!!!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: This is a property that has several rooms for rent and the room we had was very comfortable and well supplied with everything we would need. It was an older property that had been completely renovated. The freshly baked bread and croissants were part of an ample breakfast.
Cons: We had difficulty finding this property.

Pros: The breakfast was very good, very adequate, and convenient.
Cons: Payment structure was not good. Nobody came to take payment. Only French language was spoken and only answer machines on the telephones. Pros: Great location for a one night stop as we were on route to Bavaria. There is a shopping centre five minutes walk away with a pizza restaurant next to a lake which had a beautiful water fountain and light show to jazz your evening up! MacDonalds is almost next door!
Cons: There were no staff to book us in and the electronic key pad was very awkward to use. Set at a height to allow wheelchair users I had to bend down considerably to see the key pad. Another guest helped us gain access and without the help of Karen we may have been there still!
7.5 Good

Cons: Don't know.
6.3 Good
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast were good.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location. Nice soft beds.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Liked the setting, the tranquility of the hotel. Lady on reception friendly and helpful
Cons: The rudeness of the restaurant staff. My partner is vegetarian and when I asked what the options were, he raised his eyes to the sky, muttered various things and said “vegetables”. I managed to get him to add potatoes and mushrooms s to this which I admit the chef did a good job of cooking and good presentation on the plate. I ordered a steak which I asked for medium rare, it was given to me and was well done. When I pointed this out to the maitre d, it was snatched away from me, and 5 minutes later a new steak was given to me, the plate slammed down on the table with not a word said. They had a group of about 20 people from a wedding who they could not do enough for and the others of us who were staying in the hotel were almost an inconvenience to them. Very unimpressed especially silly as the restaurant is commended for its food within the locus de France book.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Satisfactory
Cons: Our room was flooded by water coming through the ceiling in the early hours of the morning. we were moved to another room which had no pillows and in which the side of the bath was peeling off. We were offered no apology for the inconvenience, or even a small discount on our room charges in compensation. We had lost a nights sleep which was not welcome as we had travelled substantial distance that day.

Cons: Sunday evening no restaurant

Cons: Breakfast too expensive, no coffee facilities in room, too soft beds, poorly designed bathroom, automatic lights on motion sensor. Room small for the price.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Hotel Metz Augny in Augny, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Centre Pompidou-Metz and Metz Cathedral. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was good. It is near a main route. (But the hotel was difficult to locate in the dark, in a business park. Map coordinates would have helped).
Cons: The room stank of cigarette smoke. We were told it was a 'smoking room' before booking, but did not expect it to be so bad. I will never stay in one of their 'smoking rooms' again.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Hotel has private parking, which was very convenient since we didn't want to leave our car unattended. The rooms have direct access through the parking slot.
Cons: Very, very, very small room and bathroom. The room is almost the size of the bed. No space at all for 2 people to move freely in the room at the same time. We were not expecting this "close-to-the-highway-Motel-look-and-feel". Bring your own food and water in advance, since there are no open supermarkets or restaurants in the surroundings, after sunset.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location near A31 when just passing through. Good family room (maisonnette).
Cons: Highway noise (with window a little open)
7.5 Good
Pros: Direct at highway, good bed, simple hot shower, good wifi, not expensive
Cons: Doors slam of other rooms that wakens you up A/c did not cool cool enough.

Cons: The cheapest looking place I ever stayed at, it's definitely not a good looking place
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good
Cons: Good
7.5 Good
Cons: We were in a smoking room as non smokers and an asthmatic I tried to have the room changed but my request was not responded too. Additionally we saw no one who could change our room.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The shower was quite decent!
Cons: Almost everything else! Had to be moved rooms as the first room stank of weed smoke and cigarettes, sheets had holes in them, the bathroom was disgusting too. After a 30 minute conversation over an intercom to Paris and being cut off we finally got moved to the second room. The second room was better but still the air conditioner sounded like a tractor (we could have turned it off but we’d have sweated to death) my bed was full of someone else’s hair (I actually slept in my sleeping bag) and the bathroom wasn’t great again. Whoever designed the bathrooms didn’t attempt to sit in the loo clearly! All in all an awful experience at over twice the price of a premiere classe which we stayed in on the first leg of our trip, the premiere classe was like the Hilton in comparison!
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is super cause is clise to the freeway
Cons: The room smelled a lot of cigarette and perfume

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly. The hotel has a Formula 1 style. Looks nice. The room is simple but clean and cosy. Very close to the highway that makes it very convenient to stay during a road trip.
Cons: The tile in the bathroom was partially absent. It seems that they didn't finish repairment. It is difficult to open the water tap in the shower. Seems that it was partly broken. The kettle in the room didn't work.
6.8 Good
Pros: clean room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: The fact that our room was not cleaned. Hopefully, the staff could be reached at 11:30pm and they gave us two other rooms.
4.3 Okay
Cons: No towwels nor toilet paper in the room, person at the reception desk said "I'll bring it right away". 15 minutes later (22:30, and I had to get up again at 4:45, he knew that) still no towels. When asked by when I could expect them to be brought to the room, he started complaining, told me he had more important things to do, accused me of being aggressive (OK, after a full day of work and the prospect of too few hours of sleep, I may have been a little upset about the situation), and didn't give the impression at all that he'd take care of the problem any time soon. Fortunately, I had both towels and paper in my car. Second night, my key card did not work, neither for the lobby door not my room.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The room was forgotten to be cleaned, extremely dirty, stinking, no other room free, the friendly concierge contacted a substitute hotel (Hotel Cecil) in the city center, but there the parking place was not accessable with our Audi A6 (gate too narrow). After a loss of >2 hours we had to drive all night to get home instead.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close tot the highway
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to the highway
Cons: Cleanliness of the hallway: not clean at all
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked on the run as we drove up from Italy, rooms were ready and waiting. On a big trading park so not pretty but close to plenty of chain restaurants so perfect after a long day in the car.
Cons: Slightly seedy area and a hotel close appears to be some sort of hostel. In reality, not a problem and car park behind building felt secure.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location on a retail park was ok, but it was located next to a hotel that had been changed house migrants. The hotel facilities were good as was the breakfast. The desk manager was great.
Cons: The shower tap in my room was almost impossible to turn without using a towel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All round good hotel close to motorway
Cons: There was nothing to dislike

Pros: All was good. Wifi worked well location , is good and plenty of restaurants around. Breakfast was 5 euros each, basic (no ham or cheese or croissants), but plenty to eat and stocked. Bed was comfy , shower, toilet and sink area is the plastic mould type. Shower was fine, a bit small. TV on wall can be adjusted to watch. Very impressed and would recommend for the price. Reception spoke English, but be aware if arriving after 9pm you might need used your payment card and pin number in a machine out front to enter and get key to room.
Cons: Would have like cheese and ham in breakfast. Some rooms smelt smokey.
