The outside sitting area is pleasant and there is adequate car parking. The meal in the hotel was good, on the occasion the restaurant was open. The hotel restaurant is only open one night a week, and it is a very strenuous long walk uphill to Monreale where alternative eating and leisure areas are available. Breakfast selection is poor, food items were not restocked. I had to ask for cutlery and food items on a number of occasions. Most staff were not welcoming and seemed to find it a chore when asked. There is a real shortcoming in the service provided. No information provided in the room or instructions for phone or other hotel services. Air conditioning is inadequate.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The price of the room was reduced so it was a reasonable rate. The food was dreadful. Breakfast basic and not too bad but the evening meal was inedible. The hotel was difficult to find and not in a good position for visiting either Monreale or Palermo. A taxi into Palermo cost 30 euros.
Its location in that it was quiet and had panoramic views. Everything was spotless, the breakfast was varied with lots of choice and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. I was put off dining in the top floor restaurant because it was too hot and did not have small tables for two so it lacked atmosphere but the views from there were spectacular.
Nice Pool with nice view. Clean room and bathroom. Poor breakfast. Charged full night for late check-out.
nice views over Palermo; parking; good breakfast perhaps too much noise when partying people (lots of partys in there)
Dinner inexpensive. Free internet.Nice room. There was a party at the hotel and the music was a bit annoying. If you asked for a capuccino (the only hotel in our stay in italy this happend)with the breakfast they charge you extra.
Spacious triple room and nice little pool, both with views, good location for visiting both Palermo and the wonderful Monreale cathedral. If travelling by car easy to find but there's also a bus into Palermo right by the hotel if you want to avoid the traffic (just make sure to ask about location of the bus stop back -- Palermo is not exactly well organised in this way). Good breakfast, if you like fruit and sweet things to start the day. Some reception staff seem to resent your very presence and are only reluctantly helpful. Friendly breakfast waiter was the exception. Air conditioning seems a bit on the tired side, taking quite long to cool the rather stuffy room. Bathroom a little on the small side.
finding a hotel from Palermo highway
We chose the hotel because it was fairly close to the cathedral at Monreale. We didn't think this was a 4 star hotel in comparison with the other hotels we stayed in during our holiday in Sicily. The bathroom needed some attention and the pool (much smaller than it looks in the photos on the website) is not in great shape.
Free parking, spacious room, good breakfast. Small outdoor pool, bad shower.
Very comfortable Location of the hotel very poor. Difficult to find.
The staff. Location - further from Monreale than we expected.
Tasteful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere
Lots of character; helpful staff
No laundry service and they dont loan out irons either..... a bar staff was never present at the bar.... too far from Palermo - taxis was pretty expensive
Interesting building big rooms The lack of facilities -after nine thirty there is no possibility of anything to eat or even a cup of coffee Dogs barking under the windows all night made it less relaxing than the description implied
This facility is amazing!
The food was excellent and imaginative, and the restaurant staff extremely helpful. The shuttle bus to Palermo was very useful. The only drawback to the hotel is its location on a very busy and narrow road, with a lot of traffic.Walking anywhere was just unpleasant.
Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and helpful
Elena and Daniele did a fine job.
Excellent Sicilian food, a great authentic experience. Reasonable prices, clean rooms friendly staff. They helped us with navigating the area and recommendations for local attractions. Overall very relaxing. It's reachable only by car and about 45-60 minutes away from Palermo. There's not much nearby but that's kind of the point. They have free wifi in the lounge but it doesn't reach most rooms.
Their talents, smiles, and bang for the buck made us forget the Euro v. Dollar. However, you (should provide) a space for more compliments. No. In fact, these people were like family in every sense of the word.
Lovely hotel with a good restaurant. Staff were very helpful. We had a very relaxing time as the area was extremely peaceful.
good enough for 1 night stay if you decide to visit Corleone. nature around the city is just fantastic! air conditioning was not working in our room and it was cold during the night. internet was not working.
The authenticity of staying in a remote part of Sicily... No
Hotel was nice and clean, friendly staff, what we expected beforehand- One of the nights, the city's main disco seemed to be in the garden of the hotel, and it felt like the bed was placed on the dancefloor.
The staff, ambiance and orderliness of the Hotel Leon D'oro is of superior quality...the small hotel is a gem ...set in lovely corleone sicily...I Plan to visit again next spring and will reserve a luncheon for my corleone family in the hotel's restaurant...which served an excellent assortment of items..at great value I wish they had had more tv channels available on the tv...
Staff was very helpful. Restaurant was excellent.
decent sized room with a good bathroom overprced for its facilities (paid €85 for a double room), woken by a cock crowing at 5am (a small farm is very near the hotel). The service was just adequate and the breakfast not the best (drinking the fruit juice from plastic cups). Overall was not very impressed with my stay (compared to 5 other places I stayed on my holiday).
Quiet location; reasonable breakfast. Problem with room key was quickly dealt with. Good location for exploring the local countryside.
the 5 course lunch prepared by the restaurant for 24 members of my family in corleone was excellent and beautifully executed by the staff at leon d'oro...i was very impressed and happy.
setting and view our room floor was never cleaned; we were fighting with the flies for the dry pieces of cheese for breakfast; restaurant staff was cleaning the tables very noisy (throwing the forks and knifes in boxes) while we were having a meal - very annoying
Hotel is 70 meters above the sea. And elevator is working from 0900 to 1800. View is breathtaking!!! Nice swimming pool. Beach is in a small but really private. Guys didn't allow to swim when there were waves in the sea. Hotel is 20 km from Palermo, so visiting Palermo is a bit more expensive. Sea elevator is closed from 1200 for lunch. No good restaurants nearby - you will need a taxi. Buffet is ok if you stay 2-3 days.
Location is good for rally. Breakfast was very poor. Parking is only on the street.
Beautiful location, great staff, great food and entertainment. No shower curtain. The late night music was a little loud.
The swimming area at the beach didn't have any waves which was really nice for the kids. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was nice and courteous. Room was dusty and had dirty floor. Swimming pool was extremely crowed as was beach area. Both were very small. Parking was beyond difficult it was nearly impossible. They should not advertise on site parking. We parked up to a kilometro away every time. During the day there was the beach crowd and during the night there was the discotec crowd. This was the worst part.
Very noicy weekend nights, party with strong music. No Wifi; outdoor pool was not in use, not ready ... Boring breakfast
I became a really italian coffee at the bar, thanks to the bar-staff. The caffee-machine for breakfast is very bad. sorry, for italy is this coffee the lowest level.
Dinner at the resturant was awesome. The breakfast was horrible.
