Pros: Breakfast brilliant, host excellent great location
Cons: Would have preferred en-suite
Pros: Excellent staff, Carlotta who never seemed to rest. A human dynamo ! Peace and quiet, easy to find. Breakfast was superb. . Lovely pool and garden Will revisit, This is NOT a resort area and a basic knowledge of Portuguese is essential or a phrase book and a sense of adventure. Do not be put off even if you do not know the language, you will miss a treat and a chance to experience real Portugal. A great restaurant within 100 mtrs, Chico's , good food at very fair prices, house wine is cheap and excellent. An English lanuage section of the menu is provided, turn over the pages and some very "local" dishes are available as well as the usual meat and fish. GO there and enjoy a drink at the bar by the church with the "locals".
Cons: Nothing worth a mention.
Pros: We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful old house and we were blown away by the kindness of our hostess. Our bikes were well looked after too.
Cons: We liked e everything.
Pros: This place was a real gem to find! There was a group of us travelling on motorbikes and we booked this at the last minute on our way through Portugal. The hotel provided a secure back yard for us to park our bikes (we had camping equipment etc so it saved us all having to unload this). There is a swimming pool and lovely garden area to relax in. Restaurants/bars only a few minutes away. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated. The owner was a lovely lady who provided us with the most amazing breakfast (I will attach photos). She was such a cheerful soul. She spoke no English but used her mobile phone to contact someone who could so we could communicate on arrival.
Cons: There is nothing I would change about this place. It really was lovely!
Pros: Very good accommodation with excellent staff on outskirts of town near good restaurant.
Pros: Excellent breakfast good helpings ....... however not for hot breakfast lovers. The host Lady was very warm and cheerful The pool adds value to the stay.
Cons: the room had a very small bathroom , a little uncomfortable but not a problem at all.
Pros: This was an amazing house with the ground floor devoted to guests of which we were the only ones. Magnificent old furnishings and antiques. Large kitchen, enormous dining space, a sitting room and a pool. Bike storage not a problem. While the host only spoke Portuguese she was friendly and engaging. Huge breakfast.
Pros: This place is unique as such the owner lady with her constant smile makes it very special and a fantastic breakfast tops it
Cons: The wifi was a bit week
Pros: Fatima and Jose was the best host

Pros: Apartment owner could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Pros: Very beautiful place, all perfect
Pros: You would never guess what is behind the front door. It's a fantastic building. Although breakfast wasn't included our host provided one free of charge. It's an old family home done up by a caring owner who enjoys what he is doing. If it's not too hot, take time to walk to the local park at night where most of the town seems to gather for a drink and for kids to play.
Pros: A unique place to stay that we will surely return to some day.
Cons: Everything was good.
Pros: Lots of choice in the kitchen
Cons: Being eaten alive in bed
Pros: The host Rui was amazing - he welcomed us warmly, was always there when we needed anything and took care of us. Te place itself was magical and we got the true Portugal experience in Patio das Andorinhas. He showed us around and told the story of the guesthouse. It was the best thing to jump into refreshing pool for the first thing in the morning! We will definitely visit again!
Pros: This place immediately gave us the feeling of a homecoming! The host has made all to make the guests feel comfortable and welcome. The idea and the history behind this hostel makes it even more fantastic. The atmosphere in the house and rooms is calm and relaxed which made us sleep like a baby all the night. The interieurs and details are really unique. We have slept in many hotels during our travel in Portugal but this is really the most personal and special one! We highly recommend a stay here!
Featuring free WiFi and an outdoor pool, Monte das Palmeiras offers pet-friendly accommodation in Monte do Simão Vaz. The farm stay has a children's playground and views of the garden, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free private parking is available on site. All rooms have a flat-screen TV. The rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. You will find a cash machine at the property. You can engage in various activities, such as horse riding, cycling and fishing. The farm stay also offers bike hire.
Cons: Unbelievable area, pool, rooms, service, breakfast and staff. Such a friendly environment and ambiance. Being far from the beach you are compensated by the pool and outdoor attractions that this place offers. Thank you to Maria and husband (sorry but I forgot your name - my bad. Probably the good wine you served to me). We will return!
Pros: Farm animals were fun. Sky was amazing at night due to remote location.

Pros: Great staff, great rooms, great food
Cons: There were too many flies!!
Pros: Food was exceptional and the staff courteous & friendly at all times. A truly relaxed, quiet & enjoyable place in the Portuguese countryside!
Pros: Nice atmosphere, lovingly designed complex
Cons: The apartment with whirlpool had no propper shower and on the balcony there were all the ventilators stored, that it was too loud to sit outside
Pros: The property had a great vibe. It was super relaxing and tastefully decorated. It was a true oasis in the Alentejo region. The staff were super friendly, the food was excellent and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Highly recommend this property.
Cons: No real complaints but we did have a good laugh trying to ride the run-down complimentary bikes. No modern electric bikes here.
Pros: The hotel itself is a really beautiful place. You can feel the owners love this it, with special old pieces of furniture, some lovely artwork in the cosy general living room, and many little personal touches, including a memorable poem painted onto the wall, etc. The outdoor pool is impressive (but too cold and rainy at this time of year, mid Oct) and my room, with a glass wall in the bathroom, and simple lines yet classy, was impressive. Views all around of endless open land. But visual effects are not everything; courtesy and hospitality are of much more importance, regardless the price.
Cons: Only one chamber maid, not one person of responsibility or able to speak a bit of English, was at the reception or anywhere else from the time I checked in at 3:30 pm til 8 pm that evening. I finally met the owner Luis, who told me the spa would not be built until next year, A shock for me, as I had only booked this isolated place for 3 spa days, after a 3 wk roadtrip through the Alentejo. He said he would refund me the non-refundable 3 nights, if I wished to leave now. At 8:30 pm, with nowhere to go, and a 2 km rough dirt road in the rain and dark to the nearest main road, I had no option but to stay. There was only a lunch, not a dinner menu, and the only other guests in the hotel that I met at dinner were a newly-wed couple. I barely ate the meal, but the homemade wine was good. I did pack up and leave the next morning at 10 checkout time. I was given a bill for 110 Euros, 90 (full-price) for the room and 20 for the dinner! It must be a lovely spot in the summer, with guests, spa and good food.
Pros: Nice quiet landscape in the middle of Portugal.
Cons: The food option are limited and the quality not good enough. We did have to leave for lunch / dinner. For such a „in the middle of nowhere hotel“ there should be a good Menu. The title „SPA“ is misleading as well. There is no SPA, just a pool. While checking out the service was very unfriendly, they didn’t know I did pay 5 day in advance already. I did had to prove it with my online account. Very unprofessional.
Pros: Everything. Very friendly staff, excellent accomodations to get some rest in family.
Pros: Calm location and great pool. Comfortable bed.
Cons: The overall price, I find it very expensive for what they offer. Not much attention to details (old shower that spread water all over the toilet for instance). To much daylight during dawn as the door is made of glass and has a small curtain to cover it. Dinner and lunch were very average quality with few options.

Pros: Location and view of the vineyards.
Pros: The personnel was not fluent in English, but all were definitely willing to hear, try to understand and assist, even at 02:00 in the morning!... The location is really prime, having the rooms overlooking a beautiful open green valley...
Cons: Rooms (especially those that they are calling "Superior", should be at least by 5-6 m2 bigger, in order to provide real comfort, e.g. having an armchair and/or a small couch and a decently sized working desk (not the minimum sized the had)!...
Pros: great view nice breakfast nice pool
With a stay at Hotel & Croquet Club Quinta da Chamine in Ferreira do Alentejo, you'll be 14.5 mi (23.3 km) from Municipal Archaeology Museum Aljustrel and 14.6 mi (23.5 km) from 25 de Abril Park. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely place, very familiar
Cons: Low quality food, super expensive, no value for money. Lack of service. Shouldn’t be called a hotel, but just a bed and breakfast.
Cons: The breakfast could be richer in variety and in quality.
Pros: The whole vibe and the environment was amazing. Super calm place. The actual food at the breakfast was good, but quite a small selection even though it was such a nice hotel. The room was super and it was great to also play croquet.
Cons: The pool was super dirty, one could not see though the water at all and the bottom of the pool and the whole water was full of small trash from price tags to leaves and hair. This was super inconvenient since it was extremely hot the whole time and the pool was our main criteria when booking. In addition, there was a huge language barrier with the staff, they hardly spoke any English and the breakfast system was confusing. It was really hard to get lunch/dinner at the hotel and it is very isolated, so without a car it would be pretty complicated.
Pros: Stylish hotel in renovated old farm buildings with very tasteful communal lounge/dining area full of comfy sofas, books, interesting items and family photos. Full sized croquet lawn with excellent grass surface. Very laid-back approach to everything with plentiful wine and spirits available. Staff were great despite our poor attempts at Portuguese. Very spacious room (number 8) with large bathroom, great shower and loads of nice shampoos etc. Beds and quilts extremely comfortable and as the property is away from all roads, we experienced very quiet nights. Room warm despite our stay being mid winter. The owners little dog is so friendly we could have taken it home with us. The property is surrounded by really old olive trees. There is a small pool pretty well enclosed but not for us in December.
Cons: A kettle and tea making facilities in the room would have been appreciated, also the room could do with a small coffee table.
Pros: The food was excellent and the service was top class.

Pros: Reasonable breakfast
Cons: Had to climb stairs to the room with suitcases The area is not looked after meticilosly- garden not organized stairs not clean The place was in renovation
Pros: The location
Cons: Room and bathroom should be cleaner and refurbished. It had Cotton rolls and some hair on the floor . The bathroom had some usage marks that could be easily cleaned. The breakfast was not so complete and the owner informed us that products were missing... unfortunately it appeared for the next customers...to short for the price...
Pros: Reasonable breakfast. I´d like if I have had regional goods
Cons: In terms of safety it was very poor, with difficult stairs and with one step near the bed, in one of the rooms and in the other room with one step in the entrance. When I get out the room I nearly fell.
Pros: The room was clean and tidy. The staff friendly.
Cons: Room had no facilities included. Breakfast was in a tiny little room at a large table that seated 8 people. The hotel accommodates 20 people so we had to wait to be seated. Very dis organised. The selection of food was very minimal and the coffee machine was broken so we had no coffee. The jacuzzi was not working when we arrived and when they did eventually repair it, it was filthy dirty. We did not get into dirty water. We expected a lot more after looking at the photos provided. 3/10
Cons: the room only had one socket and the bedside lamps didn't work. otherwise, great.
Pros: Superb boutique style hotel in middle of farming region
Cons: Exterior renovation and difficult to find
Pros: Very clean, comfortable mattresses - the original building looked very nice although we only had breakfast in there.
Cons: The property lacks some attention in the common areas - perhaps a little bit of gardening could make this small yet cute pool area more appealing. We had construction material lying around outside our room - not very pleasant to look at.
Cons: Nothing to point
Pros: Lovely building, well maintained and sensitively renovated. Helpful hosts. Very quiet.
Pros: We really liked the breakfast and overall hospitality of the hosts. It was a family atmosphere and the hosts were very friendly and most helpful. The communication in English was going quite well.
Cons: The beds were a bity squeaky and a bit short for a tall person (above 1.85m) but comfortable to sleep in.
Pros: Location is great! Close to everywhere. Very nice hosts. Breakfast was served as said and everything you can think of was there ready for you. Room was comfortable but due to the time of the year it was a bit chilly so we got offered heaters and it became nice and cosy. Clean and tidy. Bathroom was a good size with nice hot shower. Whatever we asked owners for we got. We were offered change of towels after couple of days and supplies of toilet paper. Shower gel and shampoo was also included. Very nice and old building which gave fantastic atmosphere. It is safe place to stay with kids. I would recommend it. It felt like at home. The roof terrace is great for relaxing and checking out the surroundings. Kids loved it.
Pros: Nice old house, kind hosts.
