Pros: The architecture was amazing. A combination of old (built around the town wall) and modern. The old stone work, including visible pieces of the granite mountain that is unmoved by man, made it interesting and rustic. Modern conveniences, like elevators
Cons: There was nothing that I did not like. The only things preventing it from top scores was that the room was a little small, had a table that was too short to use easily as a desk, and the staff spoke very little English. That said, the staff was friendly

This small village, typical of the Beira region where granite houses and narrow streets offer visitors a view of magnificent mountain landscapes where you can breathe in the rich past that has been preserved through the ages.

Pros: The friendly owners, the breakfast (home made, with different and delicious things everyday, as fresh natural juices, cake and regional items), the overall house, very cozy, the pool (very clean and a very nice spot to relax). The wi-fi internet was recently added and was free. It's very near to Belmonte, a traditional little village and with excellent access to main roads and to Serra da Estrela itself. We enjoyed very much our 3 nights stay.
