the receptionist was friendly and very helpful and the food was good the room was not clean or properly serviced on arrival-no towels, bathmat or robes however this was quicklt rectified
The peace and quiet of the surrounding areas Nobody spoke any English except the receptionist. Everything was in Spanish, including the menu, and the waiter spoke no English at all. We chose off the menu blindly because we couldn't communicate.
It's "different", interesting, a bit quirky! We enjoyed overall. Food "honest", local, friendly service. Not really.
great room with a view of the Castle on the hill and the hills in the distance, did not eat in so cannot comment on food nothing
This hotel is opposite the Castillo de La Calahorra and is easy to find and well located Butter is not available for breakfast despite repeated requests for it. The accommodation does not occupy a palace-fortress dating from the 16th century, it is opposite it, and it's impossible to visit the castle without making a phone call which the reception staff refuse to help with.
There were four of us in the group and we did not like the hotel at all.We were the only ones staying at the hotel. The food in the restaurant was good but the breakfast was awful. The rooms and corridoors were dark and gloomy and not very clean. There was no fridge in the room (there was one once as there was space for it). Overall it was not a four star hotel - more like two star.Your pictures on the website are not accurate - the dining room you show is, in fact, not in use.
view from our room was awful . it was suppose to be a stunning view , we just got a hill with lots of rubbish on it
staff very kind, nobody speaks english really, only a lady, who is at reception sometimes, but it didn't seem to be a problem. we only stayed 1 night and had meal there. a lots of local typical spanish go there for a drink and food. it was a different authentic experience, we both loved the food. in your room you get mini toiletries, that was a nice touch. the spa was great too. It has 4 stars, but not in the sense of a sparkling city hotel. The location is great of you are using the motorway (just off) and has a castle you can visit on thursday mornings. no, for what we were looking for it was perfect
Very well ocated for the castle, but only open Wednesdays AM/PM, not much else to do other than taking in a very rural yet interesting Spain village
Nice hotel, good coking, wonderful surroundings, nice and helpful people in the hotel , interresting old town,
Lovely situation with good views from the balcony. Very friendly & attentive staff. Good standard of meals. Excellent value Room was slightly smokey.
Stunning location within Las Alpujarras among vineyards, almond trees and olive trees. Family run and pleasant staff. Good wholesome food. Reasonably priced.
I don't know excactly what it is, but the hotels location, the wonderful owners, the atmosphere, makes this hotel the best place for us to stay, and overgoes the most expensive luxurious hotels for me, because of its authentic atmosphere. It is perfect for walks in the Alpujarras. We would love to come back
location, service, cleanliness, decor, everything about the place was lovely thank you no
This was the most pleasant stay in all our trip in Spain. Even though it was not a very luxurious hotel, the personal attention we got from the owners was formidable. All rooms have balconies with exceptional views. We will definitely try to come back to the Almirez and stay longer next time. It takes only 40 minutes to nice beaches, if you want to combine both swimming and the relaxation in the mountains. There was nothing we did not like
Very friendly staff, that made us feel at home right away. Room was functional and the balcony lovely. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Very nice room, clean and comfortable. Nice balcony from wich it was possible to watch the nice mountains view. Nice staff, very kind. The resaurant meals are very good and cheap.
The room are clean. The restaurant serves good food and not expensive at all. Except the good food, the red wine de la casa is not drinkable (maybe just this bottle). The isolation between rooms are very poor, we can hear clearly what is happening next door, even when people switch off the light or snoring.
Very well run and helpful staff. Beautiful location.
This family hotel was a real good Spanish experience. When booking a suite one expects some facilities as coffee making and a small fridge for room refreshments. A missed oppertunity.
Very friendly owners, very good food and for the one night we were there - very quiet. Nothing
peaceful lots of great views but within short drive of bustling town of gaudix
the staff were helpful & generous, they drove us to the restaurant for dinner and also to the railway station on the check out day other than breakfast no other meal services provided in the hotel.
This hotel has caves for rooms - this is the attraction. Each cave is individually decorated and furnished to a high standard. The novelty of the cave together with the level of comfort and friendliness of the staff made our stay wonderful. We intend coming back. No
The friendliness of the management.
friendly staff, good location fifty klm's to granada which is what we were after, and the overall cave experience was definatly different. rooms were clean but do require a face lift.
The owner and the people were very friendly. A great succes!!! I would recommaned it to everybody!! Very good service (unless the internet failed).
The breakfast was not ready at 9.00 a. m. The Staff did only speak spanish which¨made conversation impossible
The setting is rather unusual with the room set in the side of the mountain, very quiet location, out of the beaten path, although rather close to Guadix. Breakfast very limited for the money
The kitchenette was very nice - we even had a homecooked meal while we stayed there! The caves were larger than we expected, and very well appointed, with a king size bed, dining set, couch, and bath. The managers/owners didn´t speak English, but we managed to understand each other. There is a pool, but the water was very cold! While not damp, the cool air in the caves feels heavy, and we would not recommend this for anyone with allergies or breathing issues.
The staff was very friendly. Their English was not too good, but they used Google Translator to discuss with us. And of course, what we liked was the fact that we had the opportunity to stay in a cave, just like many Spanish people in the nearby town of Guadix. The view of the Sierra Nevada was also nice, especially when it had snowed! The swimming pool was closed, there was nothing special for children. One day the water in the cave did not get hot. There was also a problem with the power one evening. For all this we did not get discount. And the price of eur 120 a night was high, compared to other cave apartments we saw in the region.
