8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast and dining. Guy that we think was the owner was really helpful and very friendly. Really worked to make our stay enjoyable and to highlight local places to visit with excellent recommendations. Room was spacious with cosy seating area and balcony.
Cons: Slight confusion on arrival as we were not allocated one of the rooms booked. However a discount on the room rate was given, after the issue was raised with staff. Guest house is looking a little dated and tired, but actually that added to the charm

6.3 Good
Cons: Too far away and hard to find. Unless you like solitude and walking in the woods. Food for restaurant is pre-packaged for the week and then heated to order. (Although this place is so out of the way, it makes sense, since delivery is sporadic)

Pros: Lovely location and view & the staff were reserved but pleasant.
Cons: No kettle/tea coffee making facilities & no fridge. Booked balcony but only got a Juliet version & all other rooms booked out. Breakfast & bottled water in room extra.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The village is nice and secluded
Cons: Rooms have the charme of a 80ies youth hostel. Night lamp was a very white neon tube. Mattress was worn out. Bathroom has the size of a closet. Between 30 and 50 Euro would be acceptable, but 80 Euro per night - that's a darn cheek!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Central location, historical building, cute room, timber framed, friendly staff
Cons: WiFi didn’t work for me (it did at nearby restaurant), shower needs to be fixed - dripping, breakfast was NOT included in price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fun to stay in a place that was so old! Breakfast was great. The beds were comfortable. the location was in the pedestrian zone, so lots of places near by to go and explore.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The meal at the restaurant was excellent. The place had great character.
Cons: Room was small as was the bathroom. Shower and bath so small they were almost unusable. Not much hot water
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The historical nature and quaintness of the property as well as its location in the center of the town
Cons: I was travelling for business and really needed to be able to keep up with events back home so the poor cell phone and internet coverage within the property especially in the bedrooms made that difficult. Obviously the old construction, thick walls and heavy beams that made modern technology not work that well inside the building are part of the overall charm of the property and I was able to find adequate workarounds to get by. It would have been nice to have an warning ahead of time about that potential issue. I'd go back there again in a heartbeat for a vacation, maybe not so quickly if travelling for business.
7.5 Good
Pros: An historic building full of character, situated in a central but quiet part of town. The bathroom and shower in my room were not huge, but not as bad as other reviewers found.
Cons: Although I had reserved a room well in advance, my arrival seemed to take the hotel by surprise. I arrived just before 6 o'clock in the evening on a Wednesday, which is the hotel's Ruhetag (rest day). The front door was locked, and there was no reply when I rang the bell. I phoned the hotel's number, but the call went to voicemail. As I was pondering my next move a young helper emerged from inside, let me in and summoned assistance. All this took quite a while to resolve. My advice to anyone arriving on a Wednesday would be to make sure the hotel knows that you are coming, and at what time you are likely to arrive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent capuccino at breakfast, which had a nice wide range of options.
Cons: Staff was not present during the day when we needed them.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in this historic building was great. Dinner was delicious!
Cons: Internet only worked in public area, not in room. Parking was a challenge as we needed to find street parking and feed a neter.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This quaint, historic hotel is delightful. My room was small but very clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was limited headroom in the shower but it was a minor problem. Great location and delicious breakfast for a small extra fee. Highly recommended if you like olde world charm.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Services were excellent!
Cons: The shower under the roof is too small to shower.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: What a fantastic property. One of the most unusual places I've stayed in. The building dates back to the 1700s and the owner is gradually refurbishing it. The bedroom was very comfortable and it had the prettiest bathroom with an excellent shower. Breakfast was terrific with a full range of continental food stuffs and delicious coffee. Our host was very helpful and spoke very good English and gave us a lot of information about places to visit in the area. Also being able to park the car in the courtyard next to the property was great.
Cons: It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room for that early morning cuppa. And, although it seems wrong for a Baroque bedroom, it would have been good to have a TV, just to check the weather of course, not the football. It was also difficult to immediately spot the property when we reached the town as there was no name displayed, and it wasn't until later when exploring the town that we noticed the number on the gate! Thank goodness the church right next door stopped ringing the bells between 10 pm and 6 am.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and room oozed history. It was a fantastic place to stay that was tastefully decorated and equipped . The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty with a very large selection available. We walked though the nearby forest, this is well worth a small hike. We would certainly return again.
Cons: We stayed on a hot day and needed to leave the window open overnight, There was a small amount of noise from the road that passed, had the window been closed this would not have been a problem. Also the church bells are adjacent to the room, but these don't run through the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Heidi and Romeo were just the best. Went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Romeo recommended a heap of places to visit which were all well worth the effort. The guesthouse itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable and hugely interesting in itself. Best 3 days in Germany so far!!
Cons: Everything was fantastic - no complaints at all
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners, enjoyed talking with them. Beautiful room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Romeo was a great host with so much info and history of the surrounding area really enjoyed the stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

7.0 Good
Pros: Whilst a nice hotel, the fish theme which extended to carpets, towels and table linen was a bit much... There has been considerable investment in the facilities and the room was extremely comfortable especially the beds which we appreciated very much being on a cycling tour, but the restaurant was very old school and stuffy when it didn't need to be and the breakfast was not value for money. A lovely hotel which if recognising that it needs to move with the times would be excellent.
Cons: As above comments
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Finally a hotel with proper size glasses for your juice at breakfast. Very friendly personnel at check out! Lovely and athmospheric breakfast area. A good sizef modern and clean bathroom. Wonderfully cosy armchair in the living room corner.
Cons: Too soft pillows with few filling material. Please place a 2nd, harder one into the rooms, your guests will like it I think. We missed a small water boiler in the room to make a coffee, tea ourselves.
5.0 Okay
Cons: We stayed in room 212 and the 2nd night they forgot to turn-off the airsystem for the kitchen which runs thru room 211. This system caused a lot of vibration and we couldn't really sleep. We left the hotel immediately and didn't have to pay for the last night except for the booking.com fee (poor customer orientation). I donot understand why such a room is used for guest because the vibration is there when the kitchen airsystem is turned on; are these rooms only used for booking.com?
7.9 Good
Pros: the location and the charm and the excellent service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff helped me beyond all my expectations. I had a road accident before I arrived. They helped me get myself back to Munich by arranging transportation. Munich is NOT close. I was not good physically, having broken bones. I will always be grateful to the Hotel Karpfen. And all those fish decorations. I wish I had been able to enjoy it more.
7.1 Good
Pros: Well located in the center of Eberbach. Food is good., you can enjoy it without problem.
Cons: A little bit old fashioned. Room needs to be refreshed with air conditioning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean room, friendly staff: very nice breakfast buffet:
Cons: Cobblestone patio area with outdoor tables at back of hotel could use some maintenance and flowers to be more appealing for guests:

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice, clean and delicious breakfast
Cons: N/A
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast and good spa section. Also nice and green environment.
Cons: Employees should definitely knock on the door before they enter a strangers room. Staff was allowing some people to enter Sauna for free but expected money from me. There should be someone available at the reception. I had to wait 2-3 minutes until someone was ready to help me with something.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Picturesque location, wonderful hosts, great food, comfy bed and immaculately clean. A great stop off stay.
Cons: Nothing but I didn’t get time to try the health suite

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Home to where my ancestors lived
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: It is a slightly older hotel but with very friendly welcome and service.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Price
Cons: Outdated fixtures, bed was as hard as the floor, Wifi is shockingly awful, located in the middle of no where and no one speaks English On booking it does say that"We speak your language" I wouldn't stay again. Not as described.
5.4 Okay
Pros: This hotel is located in a nice rural setting with views towards wooded hillside, very peaceful
Cons: Accommodation needs serious updating to bring it up to what most people expect of hotels nowadays; room small and rather dark and dreary. Meals not inspiring.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Renovated, fresh bathroom
Cons: Overall shabby and worn, except the bathroom in the room.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a small valley surrounded by fields and woods. There is a small ruin of a castle in walking distance and worth the visit (climb over the fence to get in).
Cons: The hotel has some facilities that are no longer in regular use. The bowling alley would have been great to use if it had been open. This was compensated by some of the best beer that we had during the holiday.

Cons: I think when temperatures hit 40°C all hotels should be required to have a fan in the room.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room with balcony, excellent bathroom and garage for Harley. Ok restaurant German style nice breakfast. Family owned. Good price for quality.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good for me. It was necessary to walk to the restaurant but this was good. The sleeping rooms were therefore quiet. The bathroom was, as other people have said, quite small but it had everything you needed and my room was enormous. There was a sleeping area and a sitting area so plenty of space. It was in a good location with the start of many walks at or near the guest house. The automatic shoe cleaner at the bottom of the stairs was a nice touch. The (included) breakfasts were lovely and plentiful with endless delicious coffee. I ate twice in the guest house restaurant in the evening and both meals were lovely and reasonably priced. The accompanying salad had various items and an excellent dressing. The staff were happy to change one item for another on the menu.
Cons: Nothing really. The road could be heard somewhat in the day but It was not intrusive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpfull staff. Cosy and familiar setting and environment. Beautiful location in the forests. Excellent car parking facilities. Excellent location for long walks in the surrounding forests directly from the hotel. Also for cycling.
Cons: The diner menu should be modernised, not only offering the traditional German cooking (too much meat) but more vegetarian and healthy food like salads or salad bars, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a real gem. Very scenic, large room, friendly staff, very good restaurant, safe parking and blissfully quiet.
Cons: Nothing- we resolve to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Good value.
