Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful view of mountains from balcony.
No air condition which is surprising me for a 5 star hotel. There is no welcome book in English (everything is drafted in German). Only one foreign channel (CNN!). You must wear a trousers to have dinner. If not and despite you have a decent wear, you cant go for dinner! This is not disclosed in the hotel nor on internet.
Very friendly and "chic" as well. I love it ! The prices for dinner was not very well indicated. I was a bit surprised by the price of a evening meal... Another thing, the explanations about the use of the telephone, messages, etc were not clear to me. And I was not sure about the tipping ; first time in Germany. I think that mostly of your guest are german speaking but some english guide of you hotel might be useful .
This is a family run hotel, and they are very friendly. Good value for money!
The location was beautiful although the noise of the road and railway did travel up the valley more than expected, however the hotel's double glazing was up to the task. We stayed during the handover period between the old and new owners and received a warm welcome from both. The food was excellent. The hotel was a bit old fashioned but the new owner has plans to develop the hotel so this might change.
The room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It far exceeded our expectations! The on-site restaurant served an excellent dinner, as well.
Warm, friendly atmosphere reflecting the ambiance of the Allgau region. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant in a cozy, detailed setting. You could tell this family run hotel takes pride in their business. We were an American military family of a Grandmother, Teenager, and a Daughter with 8 week old twins, and our accommodation suited us perfectly with plenty of room for all. I liked the early check-in times and late check-out. Hallway/stairwell lights are on a timer that does not quite stay on long enough. Parking spaces are a challenge if you have a minivan.
A family and informal hotel. Room clean and well-equipped, very traditional ('old-fashioned). I stayed in hotels like this fifty years ago. Breakfast room with large flat-screen TV for watching World Cup matches. Three generations of the family very obliging. We were given a south-facing room, though this had little advantage because of the weather. Heating put on as soon as we arrived and the room was warm. Good breakfast, evening meal just average, but fair for the price. I believe the hotel is up for sale. The gardens were not well-kept and the balcony window-boxes devoid of flowers. The terrace (could not sit out there as it was wet) must have had a superb view, but looked a little decrepit.
I had a romantic view from my bedroom, the mountains covered by snow are very beautiful, the hotel stays in a high point of the city, very confortable, the breakfeast is very good. I had a pleasent stay, very nice !!
Beautiful views, nice rooms and very good food. Friendly people and owner spoke very good english. I was woken by the train in the valley in the night on a few occasions. A building site was nearby and also made noise early but as we went out during the day did not affect us too much.
The Hotel is located in an excellent location on the edge of the town of Oberstdorf giving you wonderful winter views of the surrounding mountains and cross country ski track. The staff was "bend over backwards" helpful to meet our needs and requests. I would return to this hotel anytime.
