10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was brilliant local Italian with an elegant twist. We loved the whole experience and have recommended it to friends. Andre was a perfect host. Walks good. Quite magic to stay in an old castle steeped in history but with modern comforts
Cons: Feather pillows would have been good. Better cereal at breakfast such as granola
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is absolutely stunning - the kind of place that you might visit for a tour so it's incredible that you can stay. The food (and wine) was excellent and we were really well looked after. A highlight of our trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view, fantastic service, excellent dinner

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Andrea was a perfect host. We spent two nights in his beautiful hotel. We highly recommend having dinner in the Castello; very delicious and traditional food in a lovely atmosphere.
Cons: Some more furniture on the rooftop terrace would be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is very beautiful with nice views. Excellent rooms that totally feel like a castle. Food is amazing, all from local fresh ingredients with typical local dishes! The owner is a very friendly nice guy. Very unique stay in a real castle with a lot of history. Remarkable! Loved our stay there. By the way : the road is not as bad as the other reviewers write :), maybe if you are not accustomed to Italian rural roads and never drove a gravel road. But it’s nothing to worry about at all!
Cons: The sun deck on the towers roof needs some cosy deck chairs !

Pros: Traditional Italian place !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are really nice people and very willing to help you have a pleasant stay. I was walking the Via Francigena and Roberto offered to drive me to Aulla to avoid walking on the road. Gratefully accepted.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly family own this b&b - they have helpful knowledge of the area. Quiet surroundings, two lovely cats, comfortable bed, plentiful breakfast with home-made food. They provided decaff coffee with no problem.
Cons: The place was rather difficult to find and tricky to navigate if you return at night - more obvious signage and better lighting outside would help, The nice kitchen, where breakfast is served, is right next to the downstairs bedroom, and can wake you earlier than you intended, if this is the room you're in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house, clean, very spacious. The family were so friendly. Christina told us all about the area and its traditional food. She prides herself on using local produce and produced a fabulous breakfast with it. Her son also speaks very good English ( neither of them admit it however) and welcomed us on arrival. He made sure everything was just right for us. Roberto was up early to greet guests for breakfast. Super stay.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Pros: I warn you.... leaving Ca’luni hurts because this little paradise will steal your heart.... in the middle of the beautiful nature of Tuscan Apennines, just half aan hour away from the sea and 45 minutes from Cinque terre you find the B&B of Antonio and Antonella. This sweet couple makes your holiday even more perfect with good food and great suggestions for exploring the area. But spending a day in the little town of Casola is also worth the experience. We recommend this place to all couples and families!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the house, its garden, incredible views and of course the proximity to nature. The owners are very welcoming and thoughtful, and recommended suitable hiking trails for us in the area which was perfect. Overall the stay exceeded our expectations and we hope to come back again!

Pros: Such a wonderful week, just completely idyllic. Couldn’t have asked for more lovely hosts and a more magical setting. The views were just unbelievable, especially sitting out for breakfast in the morning. The food was lovely and we had dinner there one night which was absolutely delicious. More like fine dining than we expected (so if your really starving have a snack first!) but absolutely beautiful and one of he best meals of our trip so would definitely recommend! We got our room upgraded which was so so kind and it made such a difference to look out onto the view. Can’t really fault anything, just perfect!!!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: First of all, staff is amazing. They really wanted to make us feel like at home. Location and overall facilities are very nice, with great cuisine. :) Would recommend it to a friend. Great communication.
Cons: The mattress was not comfortable at all and there was no bed. The mattress was on the floor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I Chiosi is a little further from La Spezia and Cinque Terre but a lovely place to peacefully relax after your walk/visit to La Spezia or Cinque Terre. The host Michele was very polite, helpful and nice. The rooms are clean and roomy. At breakfast there are homemade cakes and jams and lovely view over the valley. We would recommend this place.
Cons: We stayed 2 nights and the breakfast was lovely but we could imagine that when staying a week there could be a bit more variety in breakfast items. The location is a bit further than we expected, however you see more of the countryside which is nice and it only takes you about 20min down to La Spezia by car.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant little place, lovely setting, quiet, lovely friendly family running the place. The home made pie and cake at breakfast is really tasty and the evening meal in the garden made with all local produce is definitely worth trying. Overall a really great place to stay with a wonderful atmosphere.
Cons: The room was a little warm without any a/c. A small price to pay for such a quality stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at I Chiosi. The area is beautiful, in between the mountains, both peaceful an with a great view. The hosts are the best! The food is amazing (we had dinner there 3 times). The apartment is simple but effective and clean, with a nice bathroom, a comfortable bed, a small kitchen and a place to sit or eat. The pool is small but really nice and with an awesome view.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: food and location fantastic, home made and fresh
Cons: payment options as no phone reception they need to invest in a card payment device that works off the wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Set in a little hamlet on a mountainside with views across to a little church set on the opposite mountain. Charming with attentive family who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our room had a balcony with super view across the valley. There is a pool with sun chairs, covered seating area and outdoor showers. The owners have a farm and produce their own honey (available at breakfast) and have sheep and horses (not close to the house). The room are spacious and simple, not lavish, but the beds are comfy and it is a pleasant temperature at night. The evening meal we had here was superb, especially the antipasti which was a selection of tasters of the local produce. The other day we were there we ate lunch in the local village cafe/reaurant that ably supplied 80 covers, mainly to locals to a high standard. The drive up to the reservoir on the top of the mountain behind was a beautiful scenic drive with plenty of hairpins! We were sad to leave and hope to return.
Cons: Nothing.

We also enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch at the restaurant - endless delicious courses with wine for only €30 a head. This is a truly magical place!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great accommodation in small historical village. Excellent local food in restaurant. Close to Tuscan-Emilian National Apennine Park which is suitable for hiking.
Cons: Access roads are narrow and twisty but it is part of experience to visit such lovely tranquil place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was perfect and the owner / manager were very accommodating because I was not the best of customers/guest
Cons: The rooms could do with some sort of sound proofing because you can hear other guests
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, location, staff
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely mountain views. Everything was very clean. Staff were kind and helpful. Lovely restaurant, excellent value for money and fabulous flavours. Very nice pool. Good breakfast.
Cons: No air conditioning in the rooms and it was very warm at night. With windows opened (mosquito netting in place) you could just about sleep but any noise outside then woke you. Everything is very steep and a ten minute walk from check in/restaurant to rooms in the village, or a 4 minute drive by car. This was fine for us but would be difficult for less confident drivers or anyone with reduced mobility.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice accomodation - the buildings of an old village have been carefully renovated; the restaurant is awsome - we had a 4 course dinner which was included in the price for the room. Everything was very delicious, homemade and our expectations were topped! Very good value for money.
Cons: The furnishing of the room was little bit worn; only detail but in rural areas essential: moskito net was damaged
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Montagna Verde a whole week and could have stayed another week. Barbara and all the personnel were so friendly, food was excellent, the surroundings so beautiful. It is a perfect place to just relax and enjoy life.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and food were excellent
Cons: Lack of outside space to sit that was your own
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent in the restaurant and the breakfast was good The apartment was some 800m away from the restaurant which was fine for us as we could walk off the very good meals and wine .The breakfast room was close by . But please note they do have rooms in the restaurant Building
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant was good, good and friendly service. the place is unique and nice
Cons: bed wasn't very comfortable, and the reception and the restaurant are far from the room (800 meters, vehicle is required)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is a beautiful location nestled in the rolling green hills. This is a spectacular place with huge rooms beautifully equipped and stunningly decorated. The food was amazing and the chef truly talented. The staff were amazingly helpful and welcoming - this truly is a hidden gem and we highly recommend this location and we will certainly be back - a big thanks to everyone at the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: The view was amazing!
Cons: The bed was extremely hard & uncomfortable & made it hard to sleep well. We were told it would cost 50 euros to use the spa, which was way too expensive & there was no flexibility about this.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and property were lovely. Staff super helpful. Massage was good value. Overal a lovely place but would be perfect if the bed weren't so noisy.
Cons: The bed was terribly squeaky. Every time you turned it made noise. The spa was cute but expensive at 50€/hour. There are a lot of stink bugs, I know they are a problem and hard to deal with.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Building itself , how it was restored and the Art inside the Building, specially the wall painting is amazing. A very nice place to relax,
Cons: The waiter doesn't speak a word of English, this is very bad and not to the standard of such an Hotel. Also no protected car park, It's quite far if you want to go to Cinque Terre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a fantastic building wonderfully restored
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We literally had the place to ourselves like our own private castle! The staff were treated us like family, they wanted to do everything for us and ensured we felt special. Having the intimate restaurant and the maitre d to ourselves was a very special experience and his eloquence and repartee had us enthralled. This was just a small stop on a massive 25th wedding anniversary trip, but it is definitely the highlight of a tour that would drop a lot of jaws. The location is out of the way, you just hear the rush of the river and the singing of birds, it's a step back in time with all the modern amenities.
Cons: They didn't have a wine list... I'm sure I'd have ordered a bottle of Dom perignon if it was on one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clearly exceeded expectations, very clean, very comfortable, very good services
Cons: breakfast was not at the right level - for such a great property
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Truly impressive accommodation in a real castle that has been re-fitted with taste and refinement. We were upgraded to a suite - which was very much appreciated - with big windows affording glorious views to the mountains, comfortable furniture, and elegant furnishings. Breakfast appropriate. We asked for fruit and it was brought. Front desk staff extremely accommodating and helpful.
Cons: The suite was a duplex, with the bedroom and bathroom and toilet upstairs, meaning we were always up and down the stairs. For a two night stay, we had three complementary teabags (!) and one bottle of water, which seems a bit on the skimpy side... No swimming pool yet - but it's coming.

Pros: Warm welcome nice room with large Balcony, and good views
Cons: Couldn't really use the fantastic balcony of my non smoking room, as the Frenchman next door was smoking on his Balcony next door :-(
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Thé hosts were lovely and welcoming... Lovely people and lovely stay - Hidden gem! Breakfast good too so was a nice bonus.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Need to make it clear that this isn’t your average hotel/b&b. Could be a problem if you have mobility issues. Walk back from the restaurant in the evening - golf buggy would be good idea :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy ancient style appartment. Ours had an a rooftop terrace with an amazing view. Nice and clean pool area. Food in the restaurant is very fresh and delicious.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Up in the green hills inland from La Spezia and off the tourist trail the farm produces chestnuts & honey. Fresh produce feature in their restaurant menu and the food was delicious. Accommodation is in the restored historical quaint village. A unique experience, nature and walking tracks.
Cons: Everything was lovely. A minor point, the menu was verbal so for us non italian speakers we felt like we missed out on the finer detail of the delicious food choices but we still enjoyed everything we had.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem of a place!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: In a beautiful rural location The staff were very friendly and helpful The cuisine was delicious
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Delicious food, beautiful view, extremely nice staff. Perfect place to find peace of mind.
Cons: WiFi connection could be stronger.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was an absolute gem of a find! The drive is a little hairy up there, so please make sure you're aware of this. However, it is absolutely worth it. The location and scenery is utterly stunning and what the family are trying to achieve is wonderful. Highlights for me was the food in the montagna verde - make sure you reserve a table. It was possibly the best food that we had during our time in Italy. The staff that we dealt with were all delightful and very helpful. We didn't even explore further afield as we were just so happy and peaceful there. Thanks!

Agriturismo Luna Di Quarazzana - Quarazzana - Bedroom
14
9.2 Excellent (34 reviews)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ilaria was an outstanding host - she really made us feel at home, provided so many useful advices for the trips we took. The place was very nice, quiet with a beautiful garden and pool (which was a surprise for us) - great relaxation after traveling across Tuscany during the days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was incredible! We had the romantic room so we had the view of the Apennines from our window. There were cows and chickens and even a donkey nearby, which was delightful! They were supercute. There was a fridge in the reception full of beer and wine so you didn't have to drive all the way to a shop to get what you need, perfect! Our hostess, Ilaria, was wonderful!! Super sweet and helpful, she gave us great tips on what to do and where to go. She was very warm and welcoming and definitely made me want to visit again.
Cons: Everything was perfect, honestly. It was a travellers paradise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Heading up the mountain to Quarazzana is an adventure! You are very secluded in this small town, but will have all that you need for a relaxing get away. The food, the views, and the host were spectacular. Every dinner, which is optional, had at last five courses, if not more. One day, we just sat and smelled what was being made. I wouldn't think of finding dinner anywhere else. We couldn't wait for dinner to be served by Leonardo, an accomplished chef. Our host, Ilaria, helped us out getting from the train station and back to it without trouble. We didn't have a car and our host volunteered to take us down the mountain to Fivizzano, a beautiful small town. She then offered tips, including a remote waterfall, for us to see as we hiked back up the mountain. This spot is almost off the map, but if that is what you are looking for, it is well worth it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Setting and restoration was marvelous.
Cons: Directions that are unclear.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ilaria is a wonderful hostess. The place is beautiful and the food deliciosa
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The agriturismo is located in a tiny old village (with no restaurants or shops, just a few residents and livestock), which the owners are slowly renovating year by year. If you like rustic charm, this place is lovely. Great breakfast with homemade cakes, local cheese and yogurt. The dinner is delicious, homemade food. It is not a restaurant, so you eat whatever is fresh. Ilaria, the owner, is friendly and full of great information about the surrounding areas. There are some nice walks in the area both on the winding road and on trails through the woods.
Cons: The location is beautiful, but it is very isolated. The nearest village is an 8 km drive on windy roads. The water pressure in the shower is not very strong. The dining room is a bit small, so if the place is full it is loud and feels crowded. In the summer time it would be lovely to eat outside in the courtyard with a bit more space.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just wonderful, we can absolutely recommend this lovely and peaceful place! The dinner was outstanding and service super warm and welcoming! We will come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immerse yourself in wild Tuscany. Loved the mountain view, food, authenticity of the place. Great host.

7.1 Good
Pros: The B&B is located in the beautiful mountains near Fivizzano. The view from the pool is nice. The place is well maintained and the hosting couple is - despite they don’t speak english - super friendly! The baby bed was ready and when we arrived late due to problems, we got a very warm welcome.
Cons: We were visiting with a baby, the room is small with 3 people and luggage. Very basic breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gabriella & Ubaldo were wonderful hosts who took good care of us. The room was comfortable and clean. The patio/yard area out front is a wonderful place to relax with a gorgeous view. Just up the road is Passo del Cerreto, from which starts a network of hiking trails with fantastic scenery. There is a lovely restaurant close by in Sassalbo. We would love to return! (not sure why review score shows as 9.2 ... we give it a 10!)

Pros: Gorgeous place with mountains all around and just 30 min. by car to the beach. Amazing and caring hosts and super delicious food. Pool and garden with mountain view - just perfect for careless relaxation. just across the street park with children playground.
Cons: Hotel is in small village and is on the very road, where cars driving just next to your windows from the very morning. As no conditioning available windows were open during the night and cars where a bit disturbing. Beds could be softer, but it's very much based on persons preferences.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place attended by beautiful people. Awesome breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: The place is clean and cosy, there is a nice garden outside.
Cons: The hosts are very friendly, but they do not speak English. Also we felt a little bit awkward as the accomodation was actually the upstairs room of the house where the hosts live themselves. The door creaks loudly so that you feel like you wake up everyone when you open it at night. Also it wasn't very obvious how to get inside when we arrived.
