The Room ( apartment) and the hotel were excellent, spacious. Wireless internet didn't work in the room. Rather isolated from restaurants etc.
Go up (with the cable) and hike with view of Mont Blanc; better than Fuji! The hotel has a nice pool and gym. Staff is friendly. Difficult to find with GPS; it is the first big building after starting to descend in the valley. The valley itself is ruined for hiking in favor of skiing. Wifi in the room was extremely slow and hard to connect to.
The pool was excelent and thE rooms also excelent... And frindly staff thumbs up fromberg us ... The children play area was a bit small and not really intertaining ... Tøj have grate mtb (vtt) tracks just behind the hotel but staff dis not know any thing about this i had to find out my self ... Hotel information and signpositing at location made not easy to find ...
Good facilities; well equipped apartment; clean; friendly staff. When I booked the hotel I could not see the possibility of our apartment facing the rear (no valley view, only rock), so we were disappointed when we realised that that was the case. The staff upgraded our apartment to facing the valley for a reasonable extra payment. Some restaurants mentioned by the hotel to be open during summer season were closed. Supermarket prices are high, but there is a good bakery and butcher.
Great place to stay for ski convenience.
Excellent facilities, ski in apartments, very well appointed with added benefit of gym, jacuzzi outdoor pool (warm and usable in January). Courtesy bus available for going to and from town Steam Room was out of order
Fantastic apartment, spacious, clean and well equipped and great view.Lovely facilities wiht or without kids.
Our stay at this resort was wonderfull. Services are very good, the rooms are very clean and confortable.
Clean and well run hotel , excellent views of the mountains and extremely relaxing, the gym has one of the best views i have ever seen whilst working out. Quite a long trip up the mountains, some construction near the hotel but no major noise issues, no microwave facility and no shops within walking distance.
Fantastic hotel with everything you want. Clean and nice but a little bit small flat. The surroundings are beautiful but Flaine is a place without permanent living, just for turists.
No food available on Sunday evenings Locked from door compromises access to the main building from Chalets in the grounds
The staff was perfectly helpfull, the hotel looks quite new, good value for money, there is a nice food in the hotel's restaurant It was not a big problem for me but the hotel is situated next to two roads so it is not very quiet
Very friendly staff and rooms are excellent value. Plenty of parking and skiing only 15 minutes drive up the mountain. A convenient base avoiding resort hotel prices Food & drink is quite expensive
Charming hosts; relaxed atmosphere; excellent food. a very covenient location to visit more than one centre and for skiing in nearby resorts. Road is busy but not disturbing in the rooms
Pleasant reception, comfortable, clean room where everything worked. Very good food. As it is on main autoroute can be noisy but is well soundproofed
We booked 2 night at the Chalet through Booking.com and unfortunately when we got there the manager explained that there is only one night available
The owner was just a real gentlemen - superb
The room was clean and roomy, with a good bathroom, and a very pleasant outlook. There was a good car park, which in our case was not charged for. The hotel does not offer a fixed price three course menu, which makes eating expensive. There was no starter under 12 euros and any main meat course was 25 euros plus.
The whole experience was outstanding, faultless. The staff was impeccable and extremely welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding.
Staff was pleasant and very helpful. Owner of hotel was able to speak English and was knowledgable about the area. The room was always clean and had a lot of space. We had our best meal in France at this hotel's restaurant and it served meals that are typical of the area. The hot tub was great. We had the most beautiful view of Mont Blanc from our room. The children enjoyed the playground at the hotel also. No complaints about the hotel, we just had to ask for directions once we got into Sallenches to find the hotel.
Good view of the Mont Blanc from the distance and personnel extremelly helpful Location is a bit isolated from the village and wifi internet does not really work in the rooms
Very friendly with good service
Convinient location, comfortable rooms, cozy atmosphere!
The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which served some of the best food I have ever tasted and the rooms were adequate for a night's stay
This Auberge is a delight. It has many assets, the best of all is its staff. All were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The owner is charming and her happy, efficient attitude permeates through the entire establishment. The other major plus is the food, provided by the owner's husband who is in charge of the kitchens! This was indeed a gourmet establishment, yet the prices charged were extremely reasonable. It is obviously also very popular with locals.Dinner at the Auberge is a memorable occasion, breakfast was exemplary with a wide selection of freshly made goodies. Accomodated in the annexe, our room had a verandah and views of Mont Blanc. The rooms are functional not luxurious, but they were clean and good value for the price charged
Excellent service, superb food and very good value. A view of Mont Blanc from both the restaurant and the balcony of our room had us spellbound during our wonderful stay.
Charming location with superb views, comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff, meals were French cuisine at its finest. Also they are very pet friendly. Nothing, this place is amazing.
Location was superb for skiing - couldn't be closer to the piste. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, charming and very well appointed Restaurant was very expensive for evening meal and breakfast.
The room (in a complex of ski lodges) was lovely and exceptionally, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is right at the end of a long steep road at the foot of a piste, which would allow you to ski down to it in the winter, but makes it a long walk into town in the summer. The restaurant looked lovely, but the prices were too high to make it an option and 20 euros for breakfast meant that we didn't use it at all. Which was a shame as it looked really nice.
nothing stands out as great but a reasonable hotel and no complaints. bit dated and not a cheap alternative but satisfactory. pool and jacuzzi was a bonus and area is nice with a sports complex less than half a mile away. everything was fine but nothing stood out
Our room was charming and well appointed, with lovely mountain views from the balcony. The menu du jour was good value and excellent quality, delivered with friendly service. We also enjoyed swimming in the indoor / outdoor pool, surrounded by some great views. The only issue we had was that we found the bed rather soft for our taste.
Good coffee and breakfast, but expensive. Bedroom and ensuite incredibly small. No sound proofing between rooms and very noisy throughout the night.
lovely hotel very bad restaurant
The staff were attentive whilst remaining discrete. Room was charming with great views.
friendly staff, very warm! good facilities and storage a bit noisy at times
Nice and comfortable, good food at restaurant. Facilities are nothing extraordinary but OK value for money. 50 min away from Chamonix by highway Breakfast is expensive (12 Euros) considering the choice. Bathroom had no door and shower was by the sink so it was a big wet mess at times. Old table with rusty nails in spa, danger for kids
The staff were great and we also used the pool. I liked the balcony with the room. The beds were not that comfortable!
The room was spacious with a lovely view, the pool/jacuzi were lovely. We ate dinner on the first night which was very nice and quite reasonable. The bathroom/shower was tiny and in need of an update would have been nice if the modern contempory shower/wash area was the same in the rooms for what we paid. Also the service at dinner was extremely slow only one girl for approx 15 covers, we waited at least half an hour before we could order even a drink
Friendliness of the owners
Great location. Very friendly staff. Leisure facilities great - was good that access to sauna/jacuzzi etc was restricted to adults.
This has been the best hotel experience in the last few years. And we've stayed at quite a few. Everything was absolutely perfect for our purpose (ski holiday in the Grand Massif area). Hotel staff was great in making us comfortable as if at home, amongst family members. Food was really gourmet and the room was spotless.
Friendly staff; family atmosphere; nice dining room Bathroom needs to be redone
Excellent welcome and friendly service. Very good facilities.
Indoor and Outdoor pools. Staff. It is a bit of a walk to the village centre
We received a very warm welcome and the staff were always keen to please. THe owners are lovely and hosted a fondue evening with music which was great fun. THe hotel was well managed.
Very friendly staff, nice countryside, nice rooms, nice breakfast.
Traditional mountain hotel. Clean and comfortable. Appeared to have good facilities although we didn't have time to make use of them. Conveniently located, walking distance to the town centre.
good atmosphere, plenty of food friendly staff poor bathroom for such a good hotel needs updating
The Neige et Roc at Samoens was an outstanding hotel with exceptional food, great staff, good location for ski bus and a friendly atmosphere. None!
Pleasant welcome, small french hotel with traditional feel, very good evening meal and good value breakfast
The hotel staff were excellent especially the receptionist who more than went out of her way to help. The restauraunt had a good choice of menu and well cooked food. Inclusive of the price was a relaxing massage machine.
Staff is polite however only one receptionist speak english well enough. Good restaurant. Clean rooms No major weaknesses, good value for money
V friendly family run hotel. Comfortable but not luxurious. Bathroom v small.
Friendliness of staff, very good food, location close enough for easy access to various skiing resorts, especially Megeve area. Non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke on our arrival, although the hotel manager was very helpful and immediately sprayed the room to lessen the smell. However, guests are allowed to smoke on their balconies (evidenced by ashtray on table there), but clearly aren't encouraged to keep the balcony door closed so the smoke doesn't end up inside. Non-smoking rooms should include balcony to avoid this problem.
A nice comfortable, clean and welcoming hotel with friendly staff, a good resturant with a tasty varried menu and cosy rooms. I booked a double room for myself and when they realised I was travelling on my own they reduced the rate.
La Ubicación There was almost nobody (employes) in the hotel during 25th, december. And nobody arranged the room in this date. If the hotel need holidays in the Cristmas day, should inform the clientes (and Booking) in advanced !!!
Overall standards were good, pleasent staff and helpful The restaurant was not to my expectations the service was poor they seemed understaffed and you had to wait too long for drinks when ordered they forgot to get it !!! and the price of the meal was too extravegant for what you got
Central to town. Convenient to shops and few restaurants (booking was essential if you wanted to eat in hotel or out in town, though). Considering the money paid for the room (130 euros per night), the room was gloomy, extremely small and very basic. No meals were included in the price and when we did ask to eat in the Dining Room there were no vacancies. Information signage was very poor. Poor car parking. The small town was unable to service the need during the week (Feb half-term holiday) due to over commercialization with short-stay apartments. Whilst there was a ski bus provided, there was no information in the hotel where to catch it from. As a ski resort, the lift system was poorly thought out with only one small gondola lift up from the village. Runs very crowded and at times dangerous. I would not go to this resort again even though it was a pretty alpine village
Peaceful and quiet hotel that can be recommended for people willing to escape crowded holiday places and enjoy picteresque mountain view. Great swimming pool. The hotel is in the very centre of Samoens but a little bit difficult to find.
Not a very welcoming atmosphere,
We booked a double room with twin beds but they could accomodate a triple room with queen size bed without price supplement.Decoration simple, not typical, but acceptable. We could check out at 11am. The rooms are noisy. The matress was too soft and we couldn't sleep well. The cleaning was too early the day after (sunday) around 9am. Breakfast was closed at 9am.It's a claissical old fashion hotel and the overall deco doesn't evoke a mountain hotel.
Very good. At all details. Good for families and good to stay. Everything was fine.
The hotel is located in the centre of Samoens village, convenient to shops and restaurants. The quad room was perfect, as the mezzanine created what was virtually a separate room for the children. We also enjoyed both the swimming pools. Sound proofing at mezzanine level was not good. The double bed was very uncomfortable.
it was a nice hotel and we had a great weekend. however sadly we found the staff and in particular the manageress rude and unhelpful.
Great location & very comfortable beds so for us, using this as a stop over it was ideal. Close to some cracking restaurants and just across from a reasonably priced bar. Parking available directly in front of the hotel too. One of the reasons we booked this as a stop over was that, after 10hrs of driving we were looking forward to using the spa facilities. Despite being advertised as open until 9pm we found it closed at 7pm and were met with shrugs & grunts as to why this was the case. We didn't eat at the hotel and chose somewhere else for drinks too as the bar was terrifyingly expensive. Despite these niggles the beds were supremely comfortable and if you can get a duplex room sleeping four then its great value.
Proximity to ski slopes, rooms comfortable, hot water always available staff pleasant , food varied and tasteful. pleasant stay. lack of a facility to have a drink upon return from ski ing Could really do with a bar area open from say 1600 hours, for some this would be a reason not to re book Not exexactly a dislike but there was no written english translation on rules or menus etc
sleep no bar
Location. Nice and quiet and beautiful old village. Needed a double bed rather than two singles pushed together.
The room was ready at 11:00 thus we could enter earlier then advertised
friendly and relaxed atmosphere the food was acceptable but could be a bit better
Beautiful views, lovely quiet, great swimming pool & jacuzzi, lovely dinner, gorgeous area, easy to find.
Quiet, picturesque location. Friendly, helpful staff.
They disinformed us that they are locatecd 12 km away from Chamonix.Actually it is 80!!! km away from Chamonix. 80 km through small roads, so trip to Chamonix took more than 1.5 hour!!!!
