Cleaniiness. Beds were excellent. So disappinted that the facility did not have a jacuzzi. The other Comfort Suites where we have stayed had jacuzzis and this is the reason that I selected CS of Boone. Traffic made it very difficult to get in and out .
Good location Hair in bathtub; Half used lotion bottle
Very cheap and everything was clean. Staff was nice as well. A/c smelled musty and moldy. We had to turn it off because we were getting head aches and congested.
Location. Hotel is cute. The pillows and mattress were uncomfortable, air vent too loud, I have stayed at other facilities where the vent is noisy, this one was the loudest. The phone was dusty. I feel that I paid too much for what I got.
Proximity to town, pool, breakfast Decor is dated
Firstly, the young lady at the counter impressed us, both in her etiquette and in her helping us with every little thing we needed. Kudos! For the price I thought it would be a dump, but we needed a last minute room for our trip up to the slopes. It was a bit hard to find (The gps coords were across the street and down a block. The location is actually elevated well beyond street level so a call for directions for those who aren't familiar with the area may be needed). The room was fantastic! It had a decent sized flat-screen tele above a fire-less fire place (classy touch), proper extended-stay furnishings (include fold-out couch), ice-box and microwave. I'm used to frequenting 4-5 star hotels on work trips and while the amenities weren't to that level, this was about as close as you can get to that bar at the 3 star level. (ie. NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL, BUT DARN CLOSE) The ceilene could have used a once-over with a Swiffer, and the bathroom could have used a touch more attention. The Apple Maps and Google Maps location needs a bit of a tweek.
Great front desk staff, very accommodating
Great staff. Clean rooms. Close to everything. No bed bugs!
Rooms were very clean and all rooms are non smoking! Staff was very Freindly and helpful. Free breakfast was just ok.
It was a very clean and well kept place. The breakfast was awesome too. It was a good experiance.
The Sleep Inn in Boone is close to everything - downtown restaurants and shops, entertainment, etc. Hotel is modern, comfortable and clean. Staff is always friendly. Breakfast area is small and difficult to move around in.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Common areas were very new-looking and nice. Room interiors were a bit worn. Carpet needs replacing. Bed wasn't as soft as we'd have liked. We should have asked if they had a mattress pad to soften the feel. Some hotels have them.
The room was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and provided us with directions to local dining options.
When I stay in a hotel I'm looking for a place that's clean and comfortable, with a lowkey & friendly staff and continental breakfast. This delivers all of that, usually for a lower price than comparable options in Boone.
Dog left in adjacent room whined and barked all day/night
It was very clean
Quaint and clean. Desk clerk was awesome and recommended some good spots to try. Close to everything. Would definitely stay again and recommend to all. Room was a bit cramped.
Great location! The rooms were dark.
An excellent location. Right on Blue Ridge Pkwy basically and the most receptive and kind people working there. highly recommend it.
Location was convenient to town and good restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending good restaurants.
Great value!! Clean, big room with regular hotel amenities. Free parking, WiFi, and breakfast was an added bonus. Only complaint is that the rooms have screen doors that slam and woke us up a few times. I'd stay again. Can't beat the location in Blowing Rock!
The property was well maintained and very clean. The decor was pleasing and someone had obviously taken the time to decorate with good taste. The staff was very helpful, even if they didn't have the answer to a question, they tried to attain it. There were lots of towels! The comforter on the bed was wonderful and the bed itself was great. This is an "old style" motel. You park outside your door. Though well maintained and attractive, it is hard to escape the tiny bathroom. There is a small glass shelf above the bathroom sink. With 2 people in the room it is difficult to fit toothbrushes and shaving gear on the shelf let alone such things as makeup. Someone took great pains to make the room attractive, but the lovely big throw pillows had no place to go after they came off the bed. This could be a great property if the owner spent a night in one of the rooms to see how logistically it is difficult. At some point it would be great if the HVC wall unit was replaced with something a little less intrusive.
great place, we were overcharged------getting that corrected no, very nice, great bed, very comfortable-------breakfast and wine and cheese were great
When we checked in, there was a pair of dirty socks on the chair in our room.
room recently remodeled. very nice
We booked our stay on the way to the mountains. When we got there they did not have our type of room available so they upgraded our room! It was awesome! The view was breathtaking! The staff were all smiles and so friendly. The pillows were too firm. The ceiling fan in our bedroom did not work.
The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure our needs were meet and they did it all in a sincere glad to do it manner. My mom has been sick for a long time and this was the first time she was able to travel and she had been wanting to go to the mountains . She said it was the best trip she ever took. I can't thank the staff enough for being so gracious. We will definitely be back.
Awesome serenity. Beautiful premises. Very professional staff. A real gem. There was an outdoor jacuzzi that was cold and not clean. I hoped we could use it. Balcony wood floors very slippery. Not enough dishes in the kitchen for the 5 of us.
Quiet and clean Upon going there at 9pm, they charged a resort fee $15, which was not made aware at booking. Small room, not great view as described. Most of all the television was very small and was surprised to see that people still have these old televisions. The drive was good during the day, but on our way to the hotel at night, it was scary and the hotel entrance was not clear, so we drove past and had to come back.
The location. If yo have any sensitivity to mold, mildew or smells don't go here. The place was at one time, lovely but is in disrepair. There was paint peeling in the bathroom, the Jacuzzi did not work, window treatments were falling apart and the manager was unresponsive to complaints. The mold problems are unhealthy.
My room was super clean and well tended too. The bed had lovely soft linens, and the room had a ceiling fan and Jacuzzi. There was wifi, TV, microwave, and fridge. The room had natural cross ventilation, as well. The Inn Keepers were welcoming and kind in offering dining tips within an easy stroll. It was a great stay and I look forward to visiting again.
Inn is located within walking distance of Main Street in Blowing Rock. Town has several wonderful small shops and very nice restaurants. Inn is very comfortable and was an excellent value. Room bathroom could use a refresh.
Will be 1st choice next visit to area.
Great staff. Always a friendly good morning. People at registration made you feel at home and welcome to be there. We parked Friday night and didn't move the car till Sunday afternoon. It's absolutely in the middle of everything in blowing rock OK. What I didnt like. Therrs always something. Took about 5 minutes for the water to get hot the first shower of Friday night. After that no problems. Be patient it works.
the staff (stephen) made sure i was taken care of
The room was very clean and cute. Packed a lot into a small space The previous people had taken the keys with them and my key only locked one of the door locks. Since it is motel style it was not too secure. Plus no one pointed out to me that the front window was open (with just a screen the glass window was not pulled) so my stuff was left in an unlocked room.
My second visit. The main reception area is big, comfortable and quite the breakfast was good, quick and easy. The rooms are up scale with very nice and confrontable furniture. Beds are very nice. It might be nice if there were two computers, I wanted to check some things but couldn't wait until the othet couple got off.
Outdoor deck a great plus. Mattress could use replacing. Breakfast items were mostly gone by 9 am and not replaced.
Wonderful location; beautiful decor; excellent breakfast, close parking to room; rocking chairs on back deck; creek and lake; very cozy! The rainshower head of the shower was broken and only the hand- held worked. We had a hard time time trying to figure out the problem; the clawfoot bathtub was hard for someone with disabilities to access; had we known, we would have asked for a different room; I almost fell in the tub. The tub did not drain water out and you were standing ankle-deep in soapy water.
room decor and proximity to town
Keurig in room Back deck with divider Comfy bed Hot shower Great heat Wonderful staff Delicious breakfast Right off the main road We plan on booking here again! There was a orange soda bottle sitting ON the fridge when we came in. Also, salty footprints on the floor & a leak in the sink plumbing.
Very friendly service, accomodatinng staff, convenient location. great surroundings Room was a little bit crowded w/furniture
The Inn is near but not too close to downtown Blowing Rock. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. It was quiet and nice family atmosphere, just what we were looking for as a relaxing weekend. This is out of their control but the road construction traffic is single lane and heavy at times. I'm sure they will be glad when it is finished.
Friendly staff Horrible wifi. Limited hot water. Poor maid service. Room not restocked with coffee, soap or shampoo.
Location. Room is showing age.
Location. Beds uncomfortable flat pillows sheets were old poor ac.
All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They did everything possible to make sure we had what we needed when we needed it We had to switch rooms the first night because the hairdryer had been stolen and the shower was not working. However, they got us another room immediately and gave us a substantial discount.
The staff Room was supposed to be 2 Queens w/bigscreen. They told me it was a single queen and I ended up with the regular room and lost my free upgrade. The free upgrade is why I chose them over the competition. But it was free. Other than that, it was a hotel.
Very nice front desk staff. He greeted us with a smile and was very cheery even though it was 11pm and looked very busy.
Did not have hot water in the morning. Call front desk and she stated she would try to contact someone but after about a half hour it got warmer, but I needed to get ready before then. I think the room, such as the bathroom door, could use cleaning
Staff were very friendly Our room had bugs on the mattress and we had to be moved to another room
Location Room not clean after 1st night stay, they had one small coffie pot, breakfast was real slow and not very good, tv picture was poor quality and air condition was real noise.
The rooms were very clean and the staff was so nice....The breakfast was not expected to be that good.....thought it would be cereal, toast fruit etc..but it was gravy biscuits, bacon, eggs, or sausage, grits, toast, waffles, and more.... excellent.....
The location was nice. Water stains on the ceiling. Doors that wouldn't shut unless forced. Burns on the carpet. Broken ice machine. One completely flat, useless pillow each. Child sized bathroom. Shower that would go ice cold in the middle of my shower. Bed that doubled as a midevil torture device. We both came home with bachaches.
Location is great and it is rustic for the mountains. Price is pretty good. Bed comfortable. Only a sheer curtain on the window to the door leading outside shower took forever to get hot and it only was a trickle. No coffee refills left the second day. Walls were paper thin...heard a man cough in the room next door.
Nice King size bed, hot breakfast, had everything needed to get me through the night. Only stayed one night and it was pricey because if the weekend we stayed. Didn't indulge in the Indoor pool or jacuzzi but it looked nice. Parking was limited, only 1 person at the desk even though the hotel was 95% full, air was from a window unit which was either 50 degrees or 75.
It was very clean and comfortable. The beds aren't the softest, but I still slept great. The hot breakfast was delicious! The pool had a little too much chlorine.
The type of room was exactly what we were looking for The indoor pool was too cold
Nice, comfortable hotel. Close to the university and downtown.
The hot tub, breakfast every morning, and the cookies were great additions to The normal hotel experience. The Internet was shotty
Location and ease of check in/out. Cost - WAY too high.
Great value, decent breakfast, good service. besides the bathroom the room was clean The bathroom was not adequately cleaned, particularly the toilet which had dried urine and feces smears on it.
The shower was amazing. The bed was comfy The rug was dirty. The wifi was awful
Breakfast could have been better.
My husband and I had a great one night stay experience. We brought our now 3 year old son to Blowing Rock to celebrate his birthday. Everything went according to plan and all of our expectations were met. The best part about our stay was the location. We took our son to Tweetsie Railroad Park which was literally right down the road from the hotel. There was also a lot of restaurants and stores close by. Another good thing about our stay was the location of our room. I was so nervous about how our toddler would respond to staying at a hotel as this was his first time. He did fine, but let's just say I'm glad that our room was located on the first floor and I believe we were among other families with children too. Not sure if this was planned by the staff or not, but it definitely worked for us! All overall everything was great including the breakfast. Prior to selecting this hotel I read a lot of other reviews about how good the breakfast was. They were all right. It wasn't perfect, but better than most hotels (regarding the selection of food). We will definitely be staying here again!
Rooms and beds were comfortable Pool wasn't warm enough for me, but I'm from Florida and like it hot.
Convenient, all amenities readily available Noise level from other guests until 11 PM.
They had an indoor pool very close to the Appliaciation ski mountain The room wasn't cleaned very well there were left overseas from previous guest
Awesome breakfast & staff
I booked a non-smoking room. At check-in, after I paid and right before I was handed the key, I was told I would be given a smoking room, with no other options available.
In town visiting family for the weekend :) Great location! Friendly staff! Lumpy pillows :(
Staff were very friendly and helpful The sink was clogged and would not drain. Room smelled musty
There was mold all over the shower curtain, stains all over the blankets, the hotel smells aweful. It is an outdated, poorly maintained hotel. It is worth the 20$ you would save to go to a nicer hotel.
The staff was friendly. The computers didn't work, apparently. Old diaper in the trash from the previous guest
Location was good. Lots of channels on TV. Lobby nicely updated. Inexpensive. Many stains on carpet. Old 25" tube TV. Noisy/creaky bed mattress. Looks like room had been flooded in the past.
The room had pretty much anything I would have wanted for a short stay. Management was very accommodating in getting me checked in and checking out (I overslept). I have stayed here on previous trips. Always got the Queen room before. The carpet looked stained and dirty. Heating and A/C unit did not work well and was very noisy. It sounded like the jet engine of an airplane warming up. Obviously got the same "bad" King room as mentioned by "Nov. 28, 2015" quest.
The staff was very professional and pleasant. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Close to town and decent parking area. The toilet seat cover was cracked with a failed repair attempt. The shower curtain would not stay closed due to sagging rod. The shower head made a loud squealing sound. The bathroom wallpaper was peeling and moldy. The mattress was old and uncomfortable, The internet went out twice in 2 days. There was nowhere to plug in the coffee maker so it had to be moved to use. The carpet needs to be replaced, as does the A/C (it worked, though). The towels were tiny and worn. The message light on the phone flashed continuously.
Ease of access to everything . The pool temperature needs to be warmer, and the breakfast needs to be larger to accommodate more people.
good location not too expensive lots of hair in the tub and bathroom floor pool not working - being cleaned? on a Friday and Saturday? couldn't get the room we booked (king) because the heat wasn't working properly but none of the 5 people working at the front desk seemed to really know what the problem was. They offered us extra blankets and said we could move to another room if we got cold. We chose another room but it was a queen room. No offer of compensation. New room was on first floor beside the busy highway.
We arrived WAY after check-in time and Jacob was awesome enough to stay on the property for almost two hours after his shift ended to make sure we checked in ok. Fun atmosphere in the grounds and room. Our air conditioner didn't work correctly the first night, making for the wrong kind of hot and sweaty. The pillows intended for sleeping were more akin to planks of wood wrapped in a fine linen weave, which prompted a trip to wal mart for the second night's pillows. Air worked fantastically the second night.
If you need a bed to sleep in its ok. The room was worn out, pillows very used, mattress not good. No shampoo just bars of soap. Front of hotel seems to have regulars if you know what I mean.
I knew the place was going to be in need of updates from what I had read online but it said it was clean. I agree it was pretty clean although I found a hair in the bed that was obviously not mine. The main problem that I had is there was no hot water. They have adjusted the shower control so that it would not go to hot. That was unacceptable to me.
The location was probably the one positive about the Greene's motel. Door & walkway stained and dirty; Room smells bad, toilet not working properly, 1/2 roll of toilet paper, dirty shower, broken fixtures, a warm refrigerator. Before booking room, and arriving I asked about commitment of 2nd night and refund if not needed, was told would be no problem. When I tried to cancel 2nd night was refused. I and my husband spoke with customer service 4 times upon arriving at motel, without resolution.
The hotel really had not changed that much in over 25 years. It was OK but it looked just like it did in the 80s. It was OK but it needs some upgrades
Plenty of room to spread out. Hotel has a very reasonable and accommodating pet policy though we weren't traveling with one. There were many who did, but they didn't disturb. Porch was a nice touch. Didn't use pool, but it seemed nice. Breakfast was good. Parking was a bit crouded. Go Mountaineers!!!
Rooms were nice Lobby under renovation and no one let us know before making reservation
