The Chateau is beautiful with extensive grounds and luxurious rooms. The decor is charming, romantic and it was a real treat to stay there. The owners are exceptionally friendly and warm. We had a marvelous time.
The only thing that let the place down a little was the swimming pool. The pool area is in bad need of an update. This said we couldn't have found fault with anything else.
The property is a spectacular historic Chateau a short walk from the centre of Fleurie, one of the main Villages of Beaujolais, and is furnished with some beautiful antique furniture and fittings. We were given the Bridal Suite for our overnight stop en route to Italy, which was beautifully furnished with a 4 poster bed and other period fittings. The centre of the village is only a short walk, where several restaurants can be found, from simple to Michelin starred, with plenty of wonderful Beaujolais food and wine to be enjoyed. Breakfast next morning was served in a very grand dining room and set us up perfectly for our onward journey South.
This Property suited us perfectly for an overnight stop on our way South to Italy, so nothing to complain about.
Lovely welcome from charming young family, amazing grand chateau in beautiful gardens. Our spacious room was wonderful with a four poster bed, fireplace, antique furniture, big windows with views of vineyards and almost a suite with separate bathroom and loo. Delicious breakfast of croissants, bread and jam, tea and coffee served in elegant salon. Slept and ate well in perfect peace and quiet. Shame it was too cold to try the pool! We even got a parting gift of a CD of music made by our host. Loved it!
Peaceful and spacious rooms. The nearby village is also vibrant.
The location, the calm. The entire castle fournitures made of antiques
It was very, very hot so something to cool the air would have been a plus
