Staff where very friendly and helpful
close to work place
Cheap, warm, dry Dirty, room full of large flies. Killed 5 before realising they where entering through Bathroom window (left slightly open). Closed window and then killed the last 2 in the room. Extractor fan in bathroom had burnt out and just been left installed with blacked area all around it.
The fabulous views and the extremely reasonable rate. Would be great for golfers! The decor was a little outdated and the room had a slight musty smell but it was clean and served its purpose
Nice and pretty room. I would be happier if the kettle was bit cleaner. And the bed was a little bit hard to sleep.
The restaurant was excellent and the staff very friendly. Bar area was a bit like an airport lounge - it lacked a bit of the character which the rest of the hotel had.
Very welcoming and friendly owner (and family/friends). They even bought us a drink at the bar!! Great hotel for a great price
Extremely helpful staff who were most anxious to accomodate our needs, in particular a very early booking-in. No.
Location Breakfast being served in the bar. Bar being cleaned whist breakfast being served - smell of polish.
central to north wales and chester
good size room.location of hotel. staff very helpful. Room was not particularly warm and bed was very lumpy. tiles around bath could do with a scrub.
very clean room and very comfatable bed good breakfast
Its close proximity to the A55 and ease of journey to Theatr Clwyd in Mold
Leaking water pipe in bathroom.
Extremely friendly staff. Great Breakfast.
The views are stunning, it was the venue for a family celebration so the company we had was excellent. Poor facilities, food and service.
Hotel staff were very friendly. Big car park. Entertainment on Saturday night pleasant and unexpected (at extra cost). No
tThe staff were polite and friendly and the food was good. It was a comfortable stay only the fact that there was no lift
the friendliness and efficiency of the staff
Large rm, choice of rm only, late bar - local event was a late finish so really appreciated a drink as I was driving. Tv with teletext, plenty of parking space despite a private dinner party in Hotel. Double rm was actually a family rm, if I had known this then 2nd single rm would not habve been needed (a twin room required) and this would have saved the extra expense incurred. Walls are paper thin, thankfully other guests were not noisey when they passed my room or the rooms either side.
The rooms were spot on. Very clean both bedroom and bathroom and were really comfortable and decorated fantastically Perhaps a bit more soundproofing, snoring from other rooms bit off putting
Owner and staff very helpful and friendly exellent service very high standard but still had that personal touch that is often lost with some hotels I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel to anyone (superb) There where no bad points
spotless facilities family run hotel with comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere and i was made to feel welcome. well decorated rooms with good amenities
Prety house and good breakfast. Large parking Good staff Rather difficult to find even with a gps! Search for Hooton instead of Ellesmere Port ...
Superb room, excellent service.
Clean Comfortable Good parking facilities None
Excellant room and service. Very clean and weloming. Our room was adjacent to a marvellous garden which we could relax in. Restaurant was closed on Sunday night.
The lovely atmosphere, spacious room and good breakfast were the best bits. There was also a good view of the lovely garden from the bedroom. There was a humming noise coming from the kitchen freezer next to the bedroom,
Such a friendly place to stay. The hotel is a family run business and makes a great change from the usual branded hotels. All the staff were great and so friendly. The evening meal was amazing, worth staying in the hotel just for this. The room rate was great value and the meal was very reasonably priced too. Overall I stayed for business but I will be going back for pleasure.
room was lovley, food excellent, enjoyed the motown evening, but dissapointed that we didnt have time to use the pool and saunas the bar and enterainment room could do with being a bit bigger and also some airconditioning in there it was so hot.
Convenience, close to cities.Good parking. Large refurbished room
The swimming pool was clean and reasonably sized. The bed was uncomfortable. Towels were a bit dated. Room was always cold on my return each evening as staff were always turning the heater off.
some of the staff were ok the whole place was dirty in particular the so called health suite which was absolutly filthy. the standard of food in the restaurant was poor in particular the breakfasts which were never fresh and often left on the plat by myself and other guests. the hotel staff don't know the procedures it took me 30min to check out making me late for an appointment.
The pool it was very refreshing. The food was lovely and staff were very helpful. We will stay at a quality hotel again.
Comfortable room good price for hotel with gym gym facilities being restored was not advised there would be no lockers etc when making reservation
The check in staff were friendly, welcoming. The bar staf and restaurant staff were pleasant. The hotel was badly in need of a refit, very dated and tatty. The swimming pool had a moldy fetid smell. The lockers in the changing rooms did not lock and there was no soap in the showers.
The helpfulness of the staff. We could hear the ain road form our roon.
The staff were so friendly very smartly dressed and very helpful. The food was gorgeous and the staff in the restaurant were exceelent a credit to The Quality Hotel Chester
Comfortable hotel with good facilities and great staff
The friendly environment
The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help certainly helped ameliorate the shortcomings. The evening meal was well presented and of an above average quality. No heating in the bedroom.
Situation and staff most satisfactory. Even after discussion, room was very cold apart from the bathroom, and we considered sleeping in it. Previous occupants soiled towels didn't help, and food was only fair.
nice setting, good value for money. there was a wedding on the night we stayed & unfortunately they kept my pregnant girlfriend awake. we were unable to contact the night porter by phone so had to go to the reception in person to complain. we understand rowdy guests are out of the hotels hands but we couldn't contact anybody by phone to complain about them
It was very peaceful The service was very slow
Sleeping 10am is a bit early for a Sunday Morning to leave the hotel, I missed out on Breakfast due to the mad rush in the morning.
We felt at home from the off and were able to relax and enjoy our time together .
although the hotel was a tad old fashioned and in need of an update, i found the room very clean and the staff very helpful. we booked a standard double room but as a large party expected we were put in a four poster room(upgrade),im glad as i would imagine the standard to have been a lot worse. the grout in the bathroom was off putting and the lack of window in the bathroom gave it a musty, drainy smell!
attended a wedding. Found the day very enjoyable, Service was excellent and staff very friendly. Drinks overpriced, Bar service slow. Food at breakfast poor.
I thought the staff were superb. Very helpful and approachable, they really are a credit to the hotel and made a lovely change compared to some we have stayed in.
the gym and pool no
Excellent staff very courteious and helpful especially in the resturant Extractor fan in bathroom didnt work and no got it fixed even aftrer we had asked them to do so
our room was lovely and it was a very romantic setting.I would recommend it to anyone,If I was to go back to ellesmere I would stay at the holiday inn.
everything was very good
Comfy bed, good facilities
this was a very good hotel, easy to find and a good central location that met all our needs. The breakfast was great and being able to sit outside with our morning tea on the canal side was a real bonus. The bar staff on the evening was also very helpful. The only slight problem was on our departure, when paying the bill it was different to the amount quoted but this problem was soon resolved with again very pleasant reception staff.
not much mould growing in the bathroom, tired appearance dimly lit frontage looked like the place was closed.
we were very kindly ungraded due to hotel refurb the bathroom which i guess is due for a refurb had a bath with lots of chips in
The whole weekend was enjoyable, very nice hotel, reception staff very helpful. Needed extra towels on the Saturday night and didn't get them.
Large and comfortable bed Able to check in after 11pm without problems *very* poor service by Saturday staff at breakfast time Feint background noise after midnight of disco in hotel
Food excellent Bathroom - Shower and tiles need to be upgraded. Lamp in room not working
Health centre was not the greatest
Staff were helpful and friendly especially those on reception We thought the restaurent and bar was overpriced did not expect to pay London prices in North Wales, and so went out to eat and drink.
The breakfast facilities and choice was excellent
Excellent Swimming pool etc Closeness to a major dual carrigeway , one of our rooms was in a part very close and overlooking it. On this occassion it did not spoil the visit but in warmer conditions when a window would be needed to be opened ( or ayone who preferes an open window) it would be a problem . So unless I could guarantee a room away from the road I would not (for this reason only ) recommend ...as I have done below in the questionarre. The fan provided in this room would be little help. Otherwise I was very happy .
Quite a nice bedroom The hotel's going through a much needed £3.2M refurbishment - I'd advise not staying here till that's complete.
They were very polite and helpful towards us accomodating our dog they made us feel very welcome
Very little. Nice view over the Dee Estuary. Plenty.
Breakfast very good service a bit slow
A friendly pub, comfortable room, convenient location
Staff were fantastic, food was excellent and the quantities were gigantic. The rooms are lovely and the management freindly and attentitive. Nothing a little bit hard to find perhaps.
Service and food was very good indeed - plenty of choice and good portions. Standard of accommodation was verry good if a little small. A friendly village-style local pub while having the qualities of a much bigger place. Some disco noise on Saturday evening but otherwise ok. On-line directions were not very clear.
Evening meal was very good and service with this very good also. Staff polite and helpful Breakfast was it seems an afterthought and spoiled the stay. We booked for 8am the first day and eventually got service at 8.30, Only one choice of fruit juice - orange, and packs of kiddies cereal. No menu - told hot breakfast was "the usual" the full breakfast was 1 slice of bacon, 1 sausage,1 piece of black pudding, 1 fried egg and a load of beans. Sausage was horrible. Toast was served on the plate with the hot food, some slices soaking up the bean juice and oil. Service was not with a smile, the lady doing the cooking served and was also doing checkouts. Room was too small for a 4 poster which although a nice idea took up most of the room. Tile grouting in the bathroom had turned black. Cover on the bed looked as if it had not seen a washing machine for weeks
A very welcoming atmosphere, with aproachable staff. Clean and comfortable.
Clean and comfortable room, well equipped in a characterful inn. Good shower and facilities. Nothing
Excellent value for money. Great food, Great beer, Great people
The room was quirt and comformable Food was limited and not very applitising. In addition the room alarm clock went off at 12 midnight and the room next door at three mins past midnight. Cleaning staff with a sence of humour not appreciated
Everything for the price was ideal, thank you.
The convenience of the hotel and the disabled facilities were particularly good.
close to where i needed to be the bed was wet on arrival and I had a glass with a large crack though it at breakfast. No apology was made for either
The size of the executive suite .the well appointed furniture. The quiet location. The location was exellent for moving onto to North Wales
I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and good food We could not get a drink after 11.00pm at the bar not even a cup of coffee.
Restuarant good value for money. Breakfast good times and selection
We were upgraded to a suite from a standard double when we got there (although we were not told this initially and only found out later). The room was fabulous, food great (good portions) and reasonably priced (we ate in the bar), drinks not really expensive, good selection of food for breakfast. The jacuzzi bath was not working which we were really looking forward to and when we complained about it noone seemed to know whether there was anything else we needed to do to get it to work, toilet was not secured to floor or wall and wobbled heavily when you got on it, television made a terrible chirping noise and the sound kept going off. a lot of the staff were young and didn't really seem to know answers to questions when asked.
reception staff very polite, clean environment poor noise insulation from other rooms and guests.
The receptionist was very cheerful and breakfast was good although the waitress was not very cheerful. No lift, no offer of help with bags, there was a disco until 9.30pm which was loud in the room. Generally the room was ok but the beds could have been more comfortable and queen beds would have been excellent in a twin room.
