With a stay at Hôtel des Gorges du Tarn in Florac, you'll be a 1-minute walk from Cévennes National Park and 5 minutes by foot from Office de Tourisme de Florac.
Pros: Location suited as us as we needed to stay in Florac for one night, being on a several day long walking trip, with no car. It is the best option in Florac, clean, modern and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing of note not liked.
Pros: Thé kindness of the staff, the very good standard of the rooms in the annexes and the great quality of the restaurant
Pros: great location & fantastic hotel
Pros: Good service from helpful staff, a good dinner the evening we dined in.
Cons: For an elderly traveller, the lack of a lift in the annexe. Breakfast could have been better organised.
Pros: Clean and comfortable room. Good for 1 night as we walked through. Dinner was excellent and the staff was accommodating to dietary needs.
Cons: The room was small, but designed well.
Pros: Great location for a visit to the Gorges. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Pros: Great location in the Cevennes and also close to the centre of town. The rooms were basic but perfect for our needs and good value for money. The restaurant was a little expensive but it was good and there are plenty of cheaper alternatives nearby if you are on a budget.
Pros: Lovely spot close to town and all the natural resources of the region. Room spacious and comfortable. Good parking. Breakfast was OK.
Pros: Easy to find very welcoming, excellent restaurant for dinner
Cons: We were in annexe which had two flight of stairs and no lift, would normally be ok but just had knee replacement op
Pros: Friendly receptionist
Cons: We stayed above the restaurant and it was noisy with chairs being moved and sounded like the kitchen being cleaned. Perhaps a different room would be quieter.
Pros: Superb location, excellent accommodation, very friendly staff in a family run hotel. Just on the edge of the small town with parking, great en-suite facilities and views to die for overlooking the mountains. Sat on the balcony and watched the sun set.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: Great View from our room. It was clean! very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was on second floor and staff helped us with our luggages. The little pizza trailer across the street is absolutely fantastic!
Cons: Parking a little tight. the pool is further down the hotel. We had no air conditioning in room.
Pros: Rooms were comfortable and equipped with shampoo and soap. Would stay again, it's a lovely area and very friendly and informative hosts.
Cons: A bit of traffic noise but to be expected in the middle of a town.
Pros: nice helpful staff. Clean Hotel
Cons: Breakfast could be better.
Situated in Florac Trois Riviere, 35 km from Meyrueis, Les tables de la fontaine features a garden and free WiFi. Fitted with a terrace, the units feature a TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. A continental breakfast is available each morning at the bed and breakfast. The restaurant at Les tables de la fontaine specialises in French cuisine. Mende is 36 km from the accommodation, while Marvejols is 49 km from the property.
Pros: The owners were welcoming, and nothing was too much for them. The room was lovely, spacious and light. The meals were exquisite. The whole environment of Les Tables de La Fontaine was beautiful.
Cons: There was nothing to not like.
Pros: Too many issues to like it at all.
Cons: Did not match photos on listing or reviews. Room shabby (not chic) despite upgrading, broken picture (glass) leant against the wall, very hot so removed duvet from cover to find blood and body fluids...shower rail held with string. Shower curtain dirty. No shower head mounting so need to kneel in bath. Breakfast bread and jam. One small cheese and yoghurt... feeling of no effort and keeping it cheap. ElPoor value. Owner approached but happy to take full price despite issues. Also, the restaurant was closed (on Wednesday's) not mentioned in the listing.
Pros: Excellent reception and meal. Very friendly people. Also very efficient and informative.
Cons: Room very small, but comfortable. Shower head loose.
Pros: The proprietors were charming and I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was larger than normally found and was well furnished and imaginatively decorated. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was excellent both in size and temperature. Dinner was excellent and cooked with fresh and good ingredients. Breakfast was equally good with homemade jams and very fresh bread. Altogether a great experience - I travel professionally and see a great many hotels. My experience here was excellent - I will be back!
Cons: The hall way by the stairs could have been made a little more welcoming. It is a small point but meant as a helpful tip.
Pros: The WIFI was excellent and the shower hot. No hairdryer as advertised.
Cons: Tiny little room, no outlook, everything in it very basic. The breakfast was extremely basic, not even a croissant, tho they did give extra bread when we asked for it.
Pros: The owners of this hotel are wonderful people, providing great customer service, delicious food and were a great source of information. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit.
When you stay at Hotel Le Rochefort in Florac, you'll be in a regional park, just steps from Cévennes National Park and 4 minutes by foot from Les Tortues Branchees. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Big parking
Cons: Rooms are getting a little old; lot of traffic around
Located in Florac, Hôtel du Pont Neuf is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Cévennes National Park and Office de Tourisme de Florac. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Ideal location for a short stop in France National Park
Cons: Parking for motor bikes
Pros: Easy parking. Reasonably comfortable. Reasonable price. Good stop over point.
Cons: Florac rather disappointing, not much to offer the tourist and saw a few 'undesirables' around the town.
Pros: I liked the evening meal and, in particular, the range of food at breakfast. This is often quite limited in France.
Cons: The room, whilst perfectly clean, was a bit tired looking.
Pros: Welcome, gardens, dinner, ambience. Tea and coffee in the bedroom, lovely views, garage for the bikes. Once of the best value hotels this holiday.
Cons: Traffic noise but it quietened down at night. Rooms a little dingy.
Pros: Breakfast had a nice selection of food. Manager helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable, with a lovely view to the hills. Free parking on site.
Cons: Only downpoint was that there were only stairs to the bedrooms so had to carry suitcase up 3 flights. Good exercise though.
Pros: the proprietor allowed us to park our motorcycles in the Garage
With a stay at Grand Hôtel du Parc, you'll be centrally located in Florac, steps from Cévennes National Park and Office de Tourisme de Florac. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Dinning room, which is the only part that has any of the character of a « grand from yesteryears!
Cons: Bedroom, lobby, hallways and stairs. On their website they do not show the rooms with showers, or the ugly block (away from the main hotel) in which they are, situated. The food in the restaurant is to be avoided unless you are starving and cannot go into the town.
Pros: High standard of cooking for dinner. This and friendliness of most staff went some way to compensate for less positive aspects. I'd requsted easy access due to mobility problems which was done.
Cons: We returned to hotel at lunchtime one day to find ourselves locked out and hotel closed up. No explanation and fortunately we had access to our car which was just as well because it was raining hard. I'd specifically booked twin beds but we were given room with double bed. Rooms in more modern extension are designed with no window but glass door. This means only ventilation possible at night is leaving door ajar to a shared balcony area - bizarre. Had chosen hotel partly due to pool which was still closed and rather delapidated. To be fair the weather was probably too cold in any case. Difficult to sit in garden due to sprinklers which keep chairs wet. Think it has all seen better days. Breakfast coffee was via Nesspresso machine - in France! This whole area caters for quick turn round as most people travelling through on hiking, cycling or motor cycling trips. You don't come to Cevennes for luxury hotels but for the amazing countryside. So we were philosophical about it.
Pros: Nice people. Room good. Restaurant very nice. WiFi didn’t work
Pros: Location in middle of Florac. The main hotel dining room and breakfast is situated in one building with rooms in annexe next to the swimming pool surrounded by a park. On the hot day we were there this was ideal.
Cons: Bar area could have been more convivial.
Pros: Excellent location. Room was typically French, a little small but fine. It was clean, good facilities, properly serviced each day. Vehicle parked under cover, first come first served. Ideally placed to explore the area. Good value.
Cons: Swimming pool was not yet open. Driveway was a bit dusty and could do with re surfacing. We took motorcycles and somewhere to wash them down would have been good.
Pros: The man at the desk and the excellent dinner and excellent service. It was perfect
Cons: Information from the friendly man at the desk was not that good. eg we knew nothing about hotel or Florac
Pros: Breakfast plentiful.
Cons: Why did they have that smelly Alsatian dog in reception?? This was distasteful to arriving guests.
Pros: the location was fine.
Cons: The restaurant was closed on the Sunday evening despite it being advertised on the booking as being open. The gentleman who booked us in was very lukewarm. The accommodation was quite tired and the bathroom had cracked tiles on the floor. The gardens were a shadow of what they once were I suspect and the swimming pool was closed It may have been grand once but the name is the only thing grand about it now.
Pros: The facility is old, but people are very friendly. The location is perfect with a beautiful rose garden and swimming pool.
